They got back to my super fast and said to come on it to see what they can do. Well, come on in I did and one day later, it was fixed! I was astonished how fast they got it done. They even transferred all my data to a brand new and more robust drive that I sent over to them via next day Prime shipping on Amazon. I am self employed and very seasonally affected . And now is my season - tax/accounting. I dropped my pc laptop off, let them know it crashed on a Microsoft update and it would mostly likely be a windows reinstall. John reached out to me when they begin the work to find out what I used the laptop for so he could make sure include those files were included in the back up. Whatever he did, he backed up everything that needed to be. It could be routine to them, but I was very relieved- I dropped off my pc Tuesday, got it back by Thursday. I came upon the Tech Boys in Patchogue due to a suggestion from a computer repair store that could not fix/upgrade my computer. Without options at that moment and in a real bind, the Tech Boys were brought to my attention and boy am I glad this business was suggested; I was super satisfied with their work, their speed, and their attention to detail. I mostly dealt with a man named Rich, who was friendly and helpful in explaining why he felt certain hardware choices made better sense than others. More importantly, he was lightning fast in turning around the machine (I had been without a main computer over a month at that point). Rich sent me feedback and pictures of the status and his pricing was reasonable. I had an old cell phone that I needed to get data off of and I was in a time crunch. I tried two other stores first and neither had the ability to help me. I stopped in around 4:15 on a Tuesday needing to recover the data by the end of the day. (I realize this is an unreasonable request!) Rich was closing early because he had a family event to attend and only had 10-15 minutes to try and help me. Not only was he able to help me save everything that I needed but he did it on the spot and was more than gracious while doing it. I have another hard drive that I haven't been able to do anything with and I plan on bringing it to Rich and Tech Boys this week. I came in around 6 months ago because my iPhone 7+ was completely non-responsive. Jesse and the team are great! My phone had suddenly lost a majority of its pictures a few days ago while visiting from the city. I panicked and immediately found Tech Boys online and gave them a call. Jesse was very professional and thorough about what could've happened and recommended bringing my phone in sooner rather than later. While at the store, he promised they would do everything they could to help. He has 15 years of experience working with restoring data and even told me of a couple of tough cases where the phone had been cracked, unable to be turned on, water damaged, etc, and in many of those cases they were able to help those phones, so that gave me some more confidence. The ambiance is calm, friendly, and professional. They will give you an estimated timeline of how long the process might take, along with a breakdown of costs. You start with an initial diagnostic for $35 and go from there. So for the past few days, I've been nervous about the results. However, I just got a call from Jesse today saying that they were able to find many of the photos that had gone missing! That made me feel a lot better just to hear that. I just approved the transfer of the found photos to a hard drive and will expect to hear on Monday about concluding the process and picking up my phone. At my request and for an additional fee, they have agreed to start the work tonight instead of Monday, which I really appreciate as I've been purposely staying on the Island instead of heading back and forth to the city. In the meantime, I wanted to leave this review to encourage you to consult with Tech Boys and entrust them with your phone and data recovery. They are truly skilled and awesome!
