I had a great experience buying a printer from this store. The sales associate, Joe with the glasses, was so helpful & friendly. I am almost a sr citizen, a Gen X'er who is clueless about these printers. I asked him for the easiest one & he steered me in the right direction. Spent a little more money than expected but in the long run it will pay off because the printer ink is in a bottle, doesn't dry out. It's an Epson. I'm only giving Staples one star because the teenage boys who work there are hard working and personable. (This is for the copy center. I haven't had problems with the cashiers.) I cannot say that about the women in the copy center. Every time I go, there is a long wait and either one or two people "working." This could be them talking behind the counter or ignoring the line. It's always crowded and they're always overwhelmed. It's the beginning of school. They should be prepared for a lot of teachers and students coming in to work on projects. Last week I had items laminated and the guy took maybe 2 minutes to do it so I didn't have to come back. Great. He was fabulous. Fast forward to today--I waited almost a half hour in line. I asked the guy if he could PLEASE do it quickly since it's a super small job. He agreed and started to get it ready. The woman working with him came rushing over and made him stop. She insisted that he had other work to do and that I would have to come back to get my items. I told her the last guy did it quickly so I'm sure this will be, as well. She was rude to me. She was rude to the guy working there. She was belittling to him, when he was obviously getting the job done. After arguing to no avail, she "offered" to have the manager come over. What a waste of time that was. Here we are for 15 more minutes arguing over why the guy can't do the job. IT COULD HAVE BEEN COMPLETED IN A FRACTION OF THAT TIME!!! I understand there are orders ahead of mine and if my order was bigger, I'd understand. I understand if you did that for every customer, you'd be behind. However, there was nobody behind me on line or nearby waiting for their items. I was laminating 17 3 in pieces of paper. So picture 5-ish per sheet. 3ish sheets to go through the laminator and done. Nope. Then I waited there as she removed my items from what he had started and stood there waiting for them to take my order. Staples!!! Look at your reviews!!! They're horrible! Do something about it. You have a store with great potential to be a star store but your employees are ruining it. It's a prime location and has many services people obviously need. Now I have to go out of my way to pick up my small job that could have been done easily when Staples was on my way home. I am so disgusted with the service there, yet I don't have a choice because there isn't another place locally who does this. PLEASE!!! went in to do a internet return. there was a man ahead of me. we waited 3-4 min. a young man was at the area to the right. I asked is there anyone could help us. he pointed to the cashier, I acknowledge ok. within a min or two he walked over, wearing shorts, pushed open the "gate" and it slammed the wall. when I handed him my order, which wasn't a Amazon return he just pointed over there. walked over to the printing area, stood right near the employe's. there were two talking. then when they were done she asked what I was returning, I said think TickTok. she looked so annoyed that I was her next time I'll go someplace else to do my returns. read more

Disappointed with my experience at the Port Jefferson Station, NY store tonight. I tried to return an unused gift of children's school supplies without a receipt. Even though the official corporate policy states that receiptless returns can receive store credit, the manager, Kevina, flatly refused, claiming that Staples "never" gives store credit without a receipt. I went in to complete some Amazon returns on 2/21/2026 around 2:30 in the afternoon. Robert was the only one behind the counter for both sales and returns. Another employee (male) was flitting around saying he, "wasn't on the clock yet" even though both lines were long. Robert was calm, professional and efficient at meeting the needs of customers on both lines. This young man deserves to commended, the other should be fired. read more

I have come to this staples a few times. TYLER WAS AMAZINGLY HELPFUL. Hopefully he is the one that trains new employees. I've had experienced not great interaction here, when I asked for help. But Tyler goes above and beyond to help, in such a polite and professional way. He really came through for me when I need some quick help with important documents to my accountant. I went into the Staples in Port Jess Station on Saturday, March 22 with a problem with my iPad that died. This was after going into four other places in which no one would help me. I was looking for a new iPad, and wasn't sure what I needed or wanted. I was trying to see if I can retrieve information from it, as I needed things for work. I was very upset and I met a manager KEVINA. Not only was she extremely professional, extremely knowledgeable, but she went above and beyond to help me get back into my account to retrieve what I thought was lost, but she was honest and helped me get a new iPad. She was extremely friendly, and because of her not only will I continue to go back to Staples, but I will recommend the store to many others. She made a stressful situation better thank you. Brianna in the print shop is AMAZING. she greets us everytime by name. She is so friendly. She knows how to talk to customers to keep us coming back again and again. Its rare in customer service these days that you get someone who treats customers with the amount of respect that brianna does. She should be running this store. This store NEVER has enough employees working. If they are working they are nowhere to be found. The tech department has taken 6 days to do a "next day" repair and I don't have it yet. I tried to call for three hours today and kept getting a message that the store doesn't have anyone to handle the call. Went in tonight to shop for a new printer for home. We were looking for something with good quality and value. Store associate Anthony came over and was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He showed us a few different printers with different options all within our budget. It's very rare these days to find an associate who takes pride in their job and knows what they are talking about. This review is about the staff and my experience with the copy machines. First off I had to wait to use the machine because the employees were using them to print out their own personal stuff. Start your review..Staples in Port Jeff, LI has a nasty staff. Went in to the Port Jefferson store last week and met Serina in the print area. We just needed 2 cards printed for my Daughters Baby Shower. Requested 2 4X 6 gray cards with white letters and border. Serina said when we get home send her a PDF file with the size, gray mat finish and white letters w/ font. I did just that. She said it would be done real quick. That afternoon we called and she said it would be done by 3pm the next day. It was NOT. When we called she said we can't do white letters. Then she said hold on, put us on hold and came back announcing the mgr. said we can do it. It will be ready the next day. It was NOT. We went in and Serina was off, another man helped us named Will.....he could not find the order. He took my cell and said he would call Serina and find out where the order was.....he never called. We went back in today and Serina had 2 8X11 cards not centered or cut with different fonts. It was as if she did not even look at my email. She began scolding me as if I made all the mistakes. She said "I told you to go home and send me a PDF file", I said I did. She then lied and said "I could not open it".....fact is, she never looked at it. (I have the email) Then she said "I was making her look stupid". I said just the opposite.....you're making me look stupid as I did everything you asked for and you have not done a thing. She said with a bad attitude, they would be ready today at 4pm. I called at 3 because I just knew she lied again and sure enough she got on the phone, said hold on and gave the phone to Will. He just said we are not doing this order, it will have to be sent out. Never in my life have I seen such incompetence. Never have I seen such arrogance and rudeness. If Serina could not do this she should have said so last week. Now we have no cards for my Daughters shower this weekend. Subsequently three other people (maybe the same woman) picked up and heard me repeat the same question and each of them told me to hold again.
