[[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful space and well decorated![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Minimal seating and tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We got a a decaf latte and espresso- very well made. I wish I would taken a photo of the menu because they had some cool creations on ther. Service was service lol [[HIGHLIGHT]]Tables could of been cleaner but overall good experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I tried the Vanilla Suburbs Nitro at Dark Matter, and honestly it was mid. There was no flavor of the vanilla or the cocoa and was just watery. I get that it's not supposed to be sweet, but it felt like it was missing something. The barista was very sweet though and patiently answered all our questions and let us take our sweet time to choose from the menu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The cafe is chic and nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would I order from here again? Meh, probably not.

A traditional demitass cup, about 1/3 full, and they claimed it was a double shot.

I stopped in here recently only because I've seen their coffee on sale in the coffee aisle at my local grocery store. I was disappointed with the lack of attentiveness by customer service, the sloppy uncomfort appearance of the employees, the overall Vibe of the place, the quality of my coffee and the presentation of it, and the price. The biggest insult of all, they served me a single shot claiming it was a double. That was the straw that broke the camel's back.

My brother-in-law swears by Dark Matter and I love it too. The overall spacey vibe to their product is unique and fun - and the quality they shovel out is quite impressive. Got a nitro coffee that was "out-of-this-world" (see what I did there), and it was STRONG. Heavy bitterness in the way I expect from a Nitro.

Beautiful latte art on our Cafe Miel and Gingersnap Trainwreck which were both delicious!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Meddle Coffee in the West Loop is as advertised, a psychedelegance coffee shop.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The mural fantasies, by Jason Brammer, on the walls surround patrons with gorgeous hallucinatory images upon entering the front door.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] On our recent visit, we were greeted with a smile and offered the intriguing menu. We ordered the Cafe Miel and the Gingersnap Trainwreck. The cafe miel had a rich coffee flavor which was delightfully accented with honey. So tasty! The gingersnap trainwreck was a festival of coffee gently merging with spices and honey. This fresh flavor sensation was a wild new discovery. We loved the delicious coffee at Meddle which was enhanced by the gorgeous fantasy displayed in the art encircling us. Yay!

I stopped by with a couple friends this past Saturday afternoon 15 minutes before closing. The barista was helpful with recommendations and the drink was delicious. I'm glad I stopped by before heading to Union Station to head back to the burbs. ICED MAYAN MOCHA (12 OZ) - 4.75 4.75 for a 12 oz mocha is pretty darn good in 2024. The mocha had a slightly spicy kick after every sip and it wasn't too sweet. I really enjoyed this drink and it's been awhile since I enjoyed a mocha. It had a strong chocolate flavor and I could still taste the espresso. Solid option for sure. My only regret is not copping a bag of beans while I was here. There's quite a few Dark Matter cafes in Chicago, so definitely stop by at one of them and give their drinks a try!

The drinks are verryyyyyy sweet. I asked for my drink with light syrup but is was still way too much. Maybe I'll try a straight espresso. It's only worth it if you're in the area though

Strong a** coffee, in a good way! Needed a little pick me up on Saturday morning and the small coffee did the trick! Had a strong but delicious taste to it! Regret not buying their coffee beans but we will be back! Cashier was okay and could've been a bit friendlier but I came for coffee not to make friends I guess, in the nicest way. The barista was super friendly and said bye to everyone leaving the door, so that was nice! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decoration and murals on the wall are on point, had great music playing as well! Definitely a vibe in there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The bar is really beautiful and has cool lighting. Everyone who works here is really kind and welcoming. The breakfast sandwiches are delicious. The eggs are really fluffy and the sauce on top is tasty. The beverages are great too. I had an iced lavender sea salt latte and it was really refreshing. I also enjoyed the iced pistachio mocha latte. Subtle flavors and really smooth. I also had the Matcha Shakerato and it was amazing! I loved the amaretto in it and the flavors really pop. I loved the glasses that the drinks were served in as well. I love the concept here. It's a coffee shop/cafe/bakery by day and bar/lounge by night. I look forward to returning in the evening to experience more cocktails. (It's an amaro focused cocktail bar.) I look forward to trying more food and pastries too. They also have an aperitivo hour from 4-6pm that looks great too. I definitely plan on a being a regular. Fantastic experience!

We originally swung by on a Friday night, but it was far too loud and bustling. Given the nice 1940s or 50s decor, adding some acoustic art panels would make a huge difference in cutting down the noise. Every time we passed by afterward, it always looked packed. However, we finally got a chance to experience it properly last night, and it did not disappoint. The smoke tomato pizetta, nuts and olives, daiquiri, cafe martino, and service were all fantastic!

Very interesting with the very futuristic decor, the 4 very different levels and the spaciousness. We spent an hour there because after looking at everything, we had to have a Starbucks coffee and a small dessert and relax. The wonderful smells get to you and you can't leave. The 1st floor offers a quick coffee and bite to go plus merchandise. The 2nd foor offers a cafe & bakery with goodies freshly made in their open kitchen. You can get sandwiches, pastries, breakfast, snaks, coffee , tea. That's were we stopped to eat. The 3rd floor offers different coffee creation to deepen your knowledge about coffee. The 4th floor offers coffee-inspired cocktails, beer, wine and sweet bites. We were there in June on a weekday and there was a long line out the door and a half a block back but it does move quickly. Inside it is packed with people but it was pretty orderly. We went to all 4 floors by escalator. There are lines for the restrooms also, as you can imagine. Some people were impatient and it was awkward being around them. I don't care much for huge crowds but sometimes there is nothing you can do about it. The Reserve is an experience that you want to have. We enjoyed it. You can buy delicious pastries and great souvenirs there. Their decor was unlike any of their regular stores. A must see. Bring money, lol.

We came in before 11AM and it was fairly crowded but not enough to deter us from ordering on the 2nd floor where you can get breakfast entrees and drinks. The service was quick and the coffee, pastries and breakfast sandwiches were all delicious! It was fun to explore and it's a much different experience from the typical Starbucks with more food and drink choices. It was fun to see the coffee bean roaster and the tubes that pass beans across the location. Worth a trip if you like Starbucks, you can get some fun items not available anywhere else and see how the beans are made.

It is a vibrant, modern cafe staple known for its standout bakery items like their Strawberry Cream Croissants (that looked incredibly decadent), artisanal coffee drinks, and reliable breakfast sandwiches. They do have some gluten-free baked options like the pistachio muffin my wife enjoyed. Also, they have non-bread breakfast and lunch options if you are gluten-sensitive or celiac. The place is popular, based on the queue that went out the door when we went there over the past weekend. Due to its proximity to major downtown attractions like the Art Institute and office buildings, long lines will happen during morning work rushes and weekend peak hours. But it's worth the wait. For my money, the chocolate croissant, stuffed with rich chocolate mousse, is class, and will ensure you won't go hungry. At all. In fact, I had half of it in a Ziploc for two days, and it still tasted amazing. The chocolate mousse alone will give you a rush that will send you blasting into outer space. Their morning sandwich was pretty good with scrambled eggs, cheddar, bacon, avocado, and tomatillo sauce on toasted semolina. Although, admittedly, I was full from also indulging on the croissant, so I had leftovers. Their coffee drinks are also divine. I went with their Vietnamese cold brew, made with condensed milk that I enjoyed immensely. If I worked in the area, I would be coming here quite a bit.

Unfortunately for us we were a table for 3 and despite having mad that reservation weeks in advance were placed in what was obviously just 2 two tops pushed together. And not in the main atrium area. Look it was still a beautiful atmosphere and our company made it a lovely evening. Why don't they have a liquor license here? Ok the food. The burrata salad, so nice and summer fresh. We also had the crispy artichokes meh. What saved my night was the chicken salad. The crispy bits...amazing all through the salad. So good. Let's talk dessert, the butterscotch crème brûlée so good. Coffee and a port wine.... Good, but where is the cheese board. This place would benefit from real liquor and a desert cheese board. I mean I must believe that RH has a cheese board on offer somewhere. Anyway, nice evening and decent food in a mostly lovely place.
