I can easily say that I'm extremely annoyed with this establishment that my hand is trembling as I'm writing this review. Here's my story! I needed a car. Point A to Point B to be specific so I ended up purchasing a 2014 Ford Focus, wasn't to excited about the car but I was excited that my commute to work wouldn't be as stressful as it was prior to me purchasing. I didn't have the best of credit at the time of purchase but luckily my down payment was my saving grace in terms of getting a decent monthly payment. I spent at least seven hours trying to negotiate and it was settled, I had a used car with a little over 38,000 miles on it. So fast forward this past Saturday, I leave Costco. I get in the car, I turn on my engine my check engine light is on at this point my car is at 40k. All I can say is wtf I just purchase this card then I had to remember .. woasahhhh Alysia it's used don't bite the bullet to hard. I start driving the car doesn't let me accelerate over 25 miles per hour. I immediate call the man who sold me the car and let him know what's going on he gives me no useful advice. I call the service center to see if there's some availability to bring it in they're book ( I expected it). Thankfully, I did speak to a young lady who gave me a sense of comfort with my situation and I did as she told me! Get the car to the lot, as long as the car is on the lot it has to be seen. So I drive this car up route 1 to a parking lot and have my insurance company tow it to this establishment now I'm playing the waiting game. Monday is finally here, I get a call from James, I'm happy. He asks me what's wrong with my car and I tell him. He TELLS me if I don't receive a call Monday evening Tuesday I will. Well it's Tuesday and I didn't receive sh*t. I'm irritated as hell. I call this afternoon to find out my car has been seen and the young woman I spoke to said he would give me a call at this point it's 2pm. I call back at 4pm to find out HE IS GONE FOR THE DAY. So I ask to speak to the next person available she's busy. At this point I feel like I'm getting the run around in a shit show. I'm all about customer service. If you tell me you're going to give me an update on a car that I purchased from your establishment give me it. I shouldn't be the one blowing you up. I'm currently in route to the dealership to get a solution to all of my problems. Literally all I need is the rental that my WARRANTY COVERS so that I can continue to make it from point A to point B this inconvenience is costing me MORE money than it should. UPDATE: A year later and I am still dealing with this company and it still is nowhere near good. Still the worst customer service. The transmission went out in my car. I took the car to the dealership as I have been paying for the extended warranty. The dealership called me and informed me there is no record of my name anywhere with this car with extended warranty. They told me it was still registered with the first owner of the car. So for a whole year I have been paying for something that was NEVER registered to my name. I go into Darcars (because you absolutely cannot ever call) and I request to talk to someone about warranty info. I was directed to Chico. He proceeds to tell me he sees the same thing and was confused how it was not put into my name. He then tells me the place to fix it is closed and he would call Monday when they open. I get a call Monday saying they are working on it and that I need to send copies of all my paperwork. I refused and said their office can pull their own paperwork of which they should have copies of. He tells me that would take a while because that paperwork is from last year in a box somewhere. Not sure how that is my fault but still a month later I have received NO CALLS OR UPDATES about my extended warranty that I am paying for! Absolutely ridiculous and I would do anything to go back in time to make sure I never walked onto that car lot to buy a car. Very poor communication with customers. Rude customer service workers (phone and in person). Out of 20 phone calls I believe I only got through one time after a 20 minute wait time on hold. Every other call was also 20 minutes on hold but I always hung up when I reached 20 minutes because that's outrageous! Walking in on foot was the best way of communication and things still were not easily solved. First issue was they gave me no info about my loan and could not tell me why it was not going through. Tried telling me things were declined or unfinished paperwork but yet no phone call was made to tell me my account was on hold. I received my loan info the day before the first payment was due. Second issue was getting new tags for my new car. Once again things were on hold with my account for a month and not once did I receive any phone calls to tell me there were issues. I had to approach the situation myself several times. Each time being promised to have it solved the next day. After a full month of next day promises I have finally received my tags. So glad to be done with these issues and can focus on paying off my car and purchasing from a different company in the future. read more

My original plan was to buy a custom ordered Ford Raptor because I wanted it built a very specific way. After calling well over 100 different dealerships, I found a dealer who was willing to do it and sell it to me for what I was willing to pay- All I had to do was wait a few months due to allocation's and build time. Of course, I also frequently checked ford's website to see if anyone had the build I was looking for. After over a year of searching, DARCARS ended up having the truck I wanted minus one feature- one I could go either way with anyway... (At this point, I had a month before my custom build could be submitted, then however long it takes to actually build...) I called a dealership closer to me to ask them about acquiring the truck, never talking to DARCARS because of some questionable reviews I've read. After a horrendous experience with the closer dealership, I nearly gave up on the truck and was going to wait it out. Out of pure frustration, I ended up calling DARCARS late one evening and spoke with Larry E. I honestly had no intention of buying at this point, thinking the custom build was the only way to go. But Larry politely asked me to give him a shot, so I did. Early the next day, he called me back... No joke, this guy went to bat and hit a home run on the first pitch- the only pitch I was willing to give him. Having done my research on the vehicle since the announcement of it's re-release in 2016, talking with over 100 Ford dealerships across the US and a few dozen Raptor owners, I knew what the numbers should be. Larry's call explained the complete breakdown, including the out-the-door price (including registration fees for my State, etc). I was so shocked at his thoroughness and proper numbers that I didn't have a choice- I ended up making the drive that day and returned home in my brand new Ford Raptor. To top it off, Larry was waiting for me at the door, with as much paperwork completed as possible to help expedite the process, given my long drive back. Everyone involved with the final sale was amazing- special shout out to Constantin for keeping things fun. Also a big thanks to Larry for his honesty, integrity, and work ethic. The people I dealt with were nice people but they were incapable of communicating with me about the status of the diagnosis and repair of an intermittent-multiple-warning-messages problem with my Niro EV. Endless waits on the telephone to talk to a person, only to be told the the "right" person was away, but no worries, they would "certainly" call me back that day (which never happened). Trying emails of inquiry was not effective, either, The people involved were not bad people, but the system in which they are operating at their dealiership is pretty much broken, in my view. I had to resort to driving 20 minutes and showing up in person to find out the status of my car (which I did twice), and after 10 days, they still did not have a diagnosis, so I asked for my car back (since the warning lights, while concerning, were not a problem that rendered my car unusable). They were to call me once they had guidance from the Kia "Techline" in California, but I never heard from them again. In their favor, they did not try to charge me for the experience, so I was not out any money. I eventually took my car to Beyer Kia in Falls Church, whose service people were way more communicative and diagnosed the problem in about 3 hours. read more

On Tuesday, July 17, 2018, I dropped my car off at DARCARS Ford Lanham for a 7:00 am appointment. I took my car in because I have been hearing a knocking sound in my dash when the air conditioner is on and I was afraid that my air conditioning would go out. Also, one of my turn signals was not working. No one had called to give me an update by noon [five (5) hours later] so I decided to call. I was told that someone would call and give me an update after lunch. By 2:30 p.m. [nearly eight (8) hours later] no one had returned my call, so I called again and was connected with the service department. I was left on hold for 25 minutes and told someone would call me back in 10 minutes. I explained that I had stepped out of the office to call and that I had already been on hold for 25 minutes. I then asked to speak to the service manager. I was put on hold again, and then hung up on. Right after that, the service manager, "Wanda," returned my call. She basically told me that there was a backup from yesterday (which no one told me about this morning or called me about yesterday to explain that my car might not be looked at until 3:00 pm or even fixed the same day). She also told me that someone would get back to me by the end of "their" day, which is 6:00 p.m. I originally purchased my car at the Branch Avenue dealership which is near where I live and was told some years ago, that I could no longer have my vehicle serviced at that location, and that I had to take it to the Lanham location. This was a huge inconvenience, but what choice did I have - pay elsewhere, for what I already paid for here, DARCARS package, etc. This is the fifth (5th) ford that I have had and the fourth (4th) vehicle that I purchased from that particular dealership. With the service conditions as they are, I will definitely not be purchasing another vehicle from DARCARS for myself or any of my children. Furthermore, I will not be recommending that anyone else purchase a vehicle from this dealership. In all the years that I have had my five (5) Ford vehicles, I have never experienced such poor service. I would think that after having purchased five (5) Ford vehicles (4 of them being top of the line, very expensive vehicles); having the DARCARS package since 2000, and purchasing a very expensive extended warranty from this Lanham location, I would get better treatment. I am very disappointed. So, yesterday, almost immediately after I posted the above narrative on the DARCARS site (https://www.darcars.com/contact.htm), someone from DARCARS decided to call me and let me know what was wrong with my car and of course, it could not be fixed that same day. No one apologized for hanging up on me or for the way that an 18-year, loyal customer was treated. I was told that the problem was an actuator flap that would be $650 for the part and that it was not covered by the very expensive extended warranty that I purchased and that the labor would be over $1,000. I was also told that the very expensive extended warranty that I purchased would not cover the cost of the diagnostic and that would cost me $172; and the diagnostic printout that was given to me was not from a diagnostic machine, but was from a manual examination. When I picked up my car, there still was no apology, my car had not been washed as I requested, and the cashier had an attitude. I went on line, out of curiosity to find an actuator flap and I found one for around $106. The part that I found on the Ford Parts site (parts.ford.com) for $603.40 is an Actuator Assy, Part #14B351 that is described as Luggage Compt/Tailgate Lock Controls for 2007-2009 models of my car. The customer representative mentioned "door" and I found an Actuator Assy (part #14A626) described as Front Door Lock controls for 2006-2014 models of my car. The clicking noise that I hear only happens if the A/C or heat is cut on. What does this door or tailgate accessory have to do with the A/C and heat? I would also like to know what good my very expensive extended warranty is if it does not even pay for diagnostics -which I thought that it did - but the loophole is that it pays for diagnostics of only what is covered under the extended warranty - this is exploitation in its lowest form. Hence, I will also not be recommending that anyone purchase an extended warranty. Now, I feel cheated, deceived, and defrauded. read more

**BUYERS BEWARE* * This was my first time buying a car. It was a decent experience until it turned for the worst. 2 days after buying my car I noticed that the key was programmed with restrictions. I had only one key and could not take off the restrictions because I only received one key. (Google ford MyKeys for more info) I called the dealership to explain the problem and that's when all hell broke loose. I explained to them that the car had restrictions that I had not know about before purchasing. The restrictions was not in the printed car description that I initially brought in when looking to purchase the vehicle. The rude and unprofessional used car salesman ALI acted as if he knew nothing about the restrictions and told me that the only way to get the restrictions off was to have another key programmed to the car. I thought ok that's fine I'll bring the car back to get whatever needs to be done. But it wasn't that easy. ALI thought that I was going to pay out of pocket to get it fixed. When I told him no and that I had just bought my car two days ago and that it didn't state restrictions in the description, that's when he became rude. ALI started to insult me about how much the car was worth, how much I paid for it and how he could sell it for twice as much as I had paid. I don't know where he received training but that is not how you treat a customer. I asked to speak to his manager and he told me that there was no one above him( Haa funny right) A little bit of back and forth between me and him happen after he insulted me on purchasing the car and how much I paid. I called the corporate office to file a complaint on him and the lady on the phone seemed caring and concerned about my situation. She stated that she would call the dealership to find out what was going on. While I waited for her call back I proceeded to drive to the dealership to see if someone else could help me. When I arrived I went into the main building and asked for a supervisor. The men behind the tall counter immediately tried to find out the problem. They told me I would need to see the service department and that if they didn't help me to come back. I drove to service department only for the ALI not to come out to the office and try to help me. He refused to come out of the office and kept making his employees be the messenger of what he had to say. (Pretty confusing cause he had alot of horrible things to say about and to me over the phone but wouldn't come see me in person) I asked the lady in service(I think her name started with an S) to get me who ever was in charge of the dealership . She complied and HECTOR(his name or something close) came to try and solve the problem. After explaining the problem he walked away for some odd reason. While waiting for him to come back I called the corporate office back to see if they had gotten some information back from the dealership. Again ALI Still sending his employees out to tell me I would have to pay out of pocket to get it fixed. (At this point I'm furious and my blood is boiling. It might have been safer for him not to come out of that office) . After being on hold with the corporate office the whole time ALI keeps sending employees to me. They finally pick up and tell me to go back to the main office and ask for the district manager. I go and have the lady at the front desk page him. She is on the phone telling someone how she is not dealing with their $hit anymore(sounds like a personal call) after waiting and having her page him 2 more times I ask if they have his cell where they can reach him cause I'm tired of waiting. He comes and it turns out to be HECTOR. We go to his office and I tell him whats going on again(5th time explaining the problem with this dealership).He asked some unessary questions and than says we are going to fix it with no charge(finally someone making sense) We walk back to my car together and he tell the lady at their service desk(I think it started with an S)to order the key and charge it to whoever and that he will sign whatever she needs him to sign. A few days later I get the problem fixed. After this experience I would not recommend this dealer to anybody. Nobody should have to be insulted or spoken to the way ALI spoke to me. First and last time going here. Im giving it 2 stars because it started off nice, the sales person JAY was helpful, the person who helped me finance was helpful and the men behind the tall counter were helpful. read more

The first time I came here, I only asked for an oil change, and they ended up doing more than I asked for, therefore, they charged me more than expected. Oh and I waited about 2 hours after arriving at 7 am. Today, right now, I am waiting for my car. Really wishing I had gone to Lincoln instead but they do not do maintenance on Saturdays. I made an appointment for 9 am this morning, and it is now 11 am and they STILL haven't changed the oil to my car. I could gone to effing Jiffy Lube and been out of there by 10 am at the latest. I understand the people who show up at 7-9 am without an appointment waiting 2-3 hours, but for someone who made an appointment for 9 am, I should NOT have to wait this long. We thought we had a great experience buying our Ford CMax. Great car, we think a decent price, etc. Come to find out that, unknown to us, DC has a hybrid tax credit (http://dmv.dc.gov/page/hybrid-vehicle-excise-tax-exemption ). Our neighbors told us about it right after we got the car, so we called the dealership right away to figure out how to get our money back - it's way more than few bucks, after all! They had absolutely no idea what I was talking about. I sent them the information from the DC DMV web site, which they could have easily found themselves. They had no idea what to do about this, so I did all the leg work - called the DMV, etc. It's now almost October and still nothing has been done. Additionally, when we bought our car we told our sales guy that we needed a parking permit as part of our registration. "Ok, I got it!" he says. When the registration and tags were ready - which they never informed us about, we had to call and check up on it and the customer service representative told us they've been ready for a while - there was no parking permit. So the dealership redid our vehicle registration to include the parking permit. Once we got it in the mail, I noticed that the vehicle was registered to the wrong address. So at this point, I just went online and paid the $20 to have the registration redone myself because clearly DARCARS is unable to handle this simple task themselves. Lastly, our vehicle had a manufacturers recall. We brought it in and were told they'd give us a loaner car because they felt bad about all the problems we had. They gave us a SMOKER rental car. I was, at the time, 6 months pregnant, which was obvious and they mentioned it. Seriously? I am still working on getting our sales tax back - we'll see if anything happens with it. But seriously, it's been one ridiculous experience after another. read more

Masiela, who I opened the complaint with, never returned my call after I followed up. The social media managers have even falsely claimed they have reached out to me. This confirms for me that the problem exists at the highest levels and mistreating their customers is part of Kia's corporate culture. I will NEVER own another Kia, even if they were giving them away. And I will forever let anyone that asks that Kia is who you thought they were. I just recently had a very bad experience with one of the managers here at DARCARS in Lanham Kia. After voicing what had occurred the General Manager Andrew Schultz went above and beyond customer service satisfaction to make things right. He first reached out to me and apologized on what had occurred and than was able to help me get the car I wanted in the price range that worked with my budget. He then called the day after I purchased my car to see how everything was.The car I got has a remote start and I was having trouble with getting it to work and he was so kind to send me over a video on how to get it work. This right here shows going above and beyond for your customers. It's the extra little steps that make a huge difference. I cant thank Andrew enough for stepping in and showing me how they properly treat customers at DARCARS in Lanham. He definitely turned a negative experience into a positive one. I bought my car from them only because it is the nearest dealer from my home, so I went there for maintenance since my information is already in there database and can save much time. I went there for my second maintenance yesterday and found my car mount missing AGAIN! Each time I went there for a service, I lost a cellphone holder and can only drive home without navigation, don't tell me this is a coincidence! It is really annoying because both the advisor and technician denied to notice it and they even recommended me take it off next time before I send there for service. My wife and I have been looking for a Ford Fusion for the past two weeks. We went to five different dealerships and in two instances we left just before signing the papers because of the unprofessional handling and attitude. It took me a phone call and a two hour at Darcars' and we were out driving our new Fusion. Armen the salesman was very knowledgeable and professional. He filled our applications in minutes and handed them to the accounting. Few minutes later Marcel from accounting asked us to come to his office, fine tuned the details and we ended up signing on the best deal by far. He even helped us choosing the insurance. Besides the fact that the deal was more than 10% cheaper than any other Ford dealership around. The professionalism and ease of communication shows a certain culture that is rare with car dealerships. We've been running for two weeks, but now we know that it was a blessing that we didn't sign but with Darcars. I would recommend them with a heart beat. read more

Look it's really easy to botch an auto sale and end up with a poor review. Car salespeople for the most part are a different breed. It's a very complex situation for buyers to walk into. Most buyers wouldn't even walk through the doors if they knew what was going on behind the scenes in sales. Take for example my latest experience. I had an appointment. Right on time I walked through the door. I was approached immediately of course. I asked by name for the salesperson I had the appointment with. I was immediately told that that salesperson was not there. A bit confused, I commented how I had set up a meeting with the salesperson. The salesperson who had just told me that the my salesperson wasn't there suddenly changed his tune, and within 30 seconds produced my salesperson. It was sooo obvious what this guy had just attempted, and as a buyer I immediately felt like I had bitten down on something sour. So after buying a new pickup, which I decided to receive the following morning I left. That was the last time I saw my salesperson. I mean the very last time. When I picked up my new vehicle the next morning my salesperson had been "transferred" as they put it. Which in reality means fired. And I could understand why. She was to nice a person to be in sales. I think I was her only ever sale during her very short stint as a auto salesperson. My new pickup came with a bed liner. The dealership never bothered to order it (2-3 days out once ordered) two weeks later I called about where the bed liner was. I was told they failed to order it. But I was assured it would be taken care of. A week later I called again. I was told that it still had not been ordered. No apology or nothing. It took DARCARS Ford over a month. Just completely terrible customer service on their end. And in dealing with the bed liner issue, since I didn't have a salesperson to contact, the person I was dealing with was the sales manager. A buyer would think that dealing with the sales manager over such a simple issue (ordering a bedliner) would bring comfort to the buyer knowing things would get done rest assured. Nope, sales manger didn't bother ordering it either. The icing on the cake came after making an appointment for Saturday to finally get the liner installed. When I showed up 15 minutes early, I was told "your appointment is for Monday". Just wow. I absolutely will not be going back. I mean why would I. read more

!!!!THIS IS A REVIEW OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ONLY!!!! I recently purchased an Explorer from this dealership and I took it in for scheduled maintenance, detail and factory recall maintenance for the first time last week; I have to say, the level of service I received was beyond stellar, and far more superior than any other auto service facility I've visited (dealer shops or otherwise)... and I've owned many vehicles! My service advisor was Mike Goldberg, a wonderful guy. I was able to book my appointment directly with him via email, which is a HUGE plus for me, as I'm a techie and any business I can conduct via computer or iPhone, is preferable. I inquired about a loaner car as I anticipated my vehicle would be receiving a significant amount of "attention" and I didn't want to be without wheels for a day. He arranged a rental (yay!), another major plus. Before being shuttled to Enterprise (their shuttle service also goes to New Carrollton Metro Station), Mike confirmed my contact info. The transaction at Enterprise was flawless considering my reservation was already in their system, so no issues there... again plus plus! There was a discovery made while performing maintenance for one of the recalls, a part needed to be ordered therefore the vehicle was kept an additional day. At any rate, Mike was very good about keeping in touch and keeping me informed, and extending the rental. No worries here! When I picked up my vehicle, it was IMMACULATE... the exterior was gleaming and the interior was absolutely SPOTLESS. I left a towel on the backseat and found it had been neatly folded, clutter in the cargo area was neatly placed inside of a storage bin. Seriously... every possible detail was addressed. I certainly didn't expect this level of attention. Also, Mike informed me that he'd taken the liberty of updating the vehicle's navigation system as a courtesy. Truly awesome service. While I certainly sympathize with those who left negative reviews (as I've been in similar situations having had vehicles serviced at other dealerships), I can't help but be totally and completely satisfied with my experience at Darcars Ford and optimistic that future visits will go just as smooth. read more

Darcars Ford did the most underhanded thing that could happen to someone in buying a car! They had me sign loan paperwork stating that I brought a truck then the next day said that the truck had been sold by the other dealership! I went to the other dealership 3:30 drive away only to find the car on the lot! I called them and they told me that the car hadn't been sold it was just not available anymore! The dealership had 3 cars that matched what I had signed for at Darcars Ford. Sales manager Scott minor did the deal then had Constantine another manager call me with the news. After calling the dealership I got no help in finding another vehicle instead I got attitude from Scott stating "what do you want me to do"! I told him I wanted my vehicle at which time he said it wasn't going to happen! All of which was done on Memorial Day week/end. As a retired veteran I feel that they do not appreciate our service and only wish to profit off of us service members to help their sales! This is a long issue with Darcars but I'll try to keep it as short as possible. Purchased a 2016 Ford Focus from Darcars a few months ago. Car had a vibration when reaching 55 mph or over. Darcars signed an agreement to fix the issue. Darcars Toyota examined the car, found the issue to be with the transmission, but was unable to repair. Took the car to Darcars Ford, who said the vibration didn't even exist, and if it did, it was a tire problem that would eventually fix itself. Took the car to a non-Darcars Ford dealership, who said there was definitely a vibration, and the issue was with the tires or possibly the wheel area. They didn't poinpoint (it was a free examination) but helpfully suggested I hold Darcars accountable for the issue. Sent a letter to Darcars asking them to honor their signed agreement to fix the issue, regardless of what it was. Received an email from Darcars refusing to fix the problem because the car had fallen out of the 30-day warranty. The only reason the car was not repaired within the warranty time was because they ignored the issue. Regardless, I still have the signed agreement to fix the issue, with no restrictions or time limits. There is also a response to my previous review, stating that they were happy that they were able to put my mind at ease. This has never happened. I've been unhappy with my Darcars purchase and the way they've handled the issue since the day we got the car. I will never purchase a vehicle again from a Darcars dealership. They do not keep their promises and I do not believe they care about their customers. I am not telling anyone where they should make their next car purchase. I am simply providing you with my experience with Darcars so that you can make an informed decision on where you purchase your next vehicle. In response to Darcars customer service: Nobody has tried to work with me on this issue at all. The only response I received from Darcars was an email refusing to fix the problem. Neither Mr. Higgins or anyone else at Darcars has contacted me on this issue outside of that email. Please be honest in your responses. read more

CONSUMER BEWARE!! Car Sale From Hell. I traded my car in back in May. Everything was great at first - they were all kind, professional, and worked really hard to get me a loan with terms I could afford. As soon as I left the lot with my new car, it all went down hill. These people NEVER filed the paperwork - none of it. They didn't take care of the loan from the car I sold them as they were supposed to; they didn't file paperwork with the DMV; they didn't do anything they were supposed to do to complete the transaction. What they did do was take my old car, turn around and sell it real fast, then leave me to flounder. Stuck with 2 loan payments because DARCAR didn't hold up their end and do their jobs. They never reached out for anything they needed, I had to reach out to them countless times and each time it was "oh yea, well we need this, too," which half the time I had already sent them. I had to hound them for my license plates for MONTHS. I got 2 tickets for expired temp tags. I just got my permanent tags from them last week. Remember, I bought this car in May. It is now late September. Did they call to let me know the plates were in? NOPE! The worst part is that DARCAR STILL hadn't paid off the loan they were supposed to and the account was sent into delinquency and my credit score is down 200 points. I am livid. It is nearly October and I am still dealing with this car sale from Hell. Save yourself months of headaches, ruined credit, and incredible frustration - Get your new car somewhere else. This place has typical Prince Georges County MD bad and rude customer service. My work vehicle would not start so I got it towed to the nearest dealership thinking I would get a quick diagnosis and repair. I wasn't too worried about the price because I realize service work at a car dealership is always overpriced but usually is done right and efficiently by qualified technicians. Parts, especially ordinary ones such as fuel pumps (my car's eventual diagnosis), are usually readily available. Boy was I wrong. They claimed my battery had to be charged before they could diagnose the problem. This took over 24 hours after my "appointment". Why they couldn't swap the battery with a good one to effectively diagnose is beyond me. Why it took 5 days to diagnose and replace a fuel pump at a Ford service center is a mystery along with why it cost my organization $1700. read more

This car dealership is in need of professionalism, tact, class and patience. First, they were boasting that there is only one female working there. Their tactics are primitive and shady. Please ignore the marketing ploys to get you in the door. They need to do that because the business is not above board. Please drive to Silver Springs to Coons or any other car dealership. I found a vehicle I wanted to purchase from researching Fords on their site and located a car with the features I wanted at Darcars Ford. Called Monday morning first thing to talk to a salesman. Spoke to someone there. They said they would call back shortly. No call received. Checked the site for the dealership and the price went up $2007.00 in two hours. When I finally got in touch with someone they said they wouldn't honor the pricing on the car from that morning. After trying and trying to get somewhere with the sales people, I learned that the car which was listed as new, was a demo with 4k miles on the odometer. It took me three days to get this figured out. Not a happy person with this disaster. Never again. read more

My husband leased a car here nearly 3 years ago (which in itself was a CLUSTER and we spent countless hours there on a couple of occasions) and we were at the end of the lease and starting to think of new vehicle options. Darcars sent a letter to us saying they would end the lease so we could buy or lease a new vehicle with them. My husband found a couple of cars that he was interested in on their website and reached out to them Monday morning to share he would like to see the cars and chat more about the option they mailed us. We were told to come on out and they would take care of us. So we drove out to Lanham on Monday night after work - mind you in rush hour traffic - from Arlington... We get there and one of the guys we were to meet with claimed to be on the phone figuring out about one of the cars we were there to see - he's chatting and "holding" while we sit there and then tells us the car was SOLD on Saturday. Um, excuse me? It was still on their website AND they told us we should come out. At first, we were complacent - since we were still trying to figure out the right new car for us. Full well knowing our budget, they get us to test drive the Niro and say that it's within our requested monthly payments. We test it out and it drives nicely, plus it has the "fun" bells and whistles. We test out another SUV and rule it out and discuss the option of an Escape (again within the budget parameters we've set). We next chat with the General Manager about our options and to confirm details on the letter they sent us about ending the lease early. My husband asked and then reconfirmed there would be no penalty or extra money owed. There was also a discussion regarding minor damage to the vehicle that we could easily have fixed, but were told it wasn't necessary since they'd work it out. Since we had the confirmation from the GM, we asked for more details and pricing on both leasing or buying for a couple options. The GM said he would get it to us the next day. After more waiting around and walking and talking about vehicles, we finally left about 9PM to drive home. The next day my husband did not hear from the GM. Instead, he gets a call from the guy we met the night before to tell us the price of one of the cars we had wanted priced out. It was FAR BEYOND the price we had discussed the day before. He went on to say that since we would be terminating the lease early, we still needed to pay the end of the lease which they would tack on to the monthly payments - PLUS the minor damage. They sent us a letter and got us to come ALL THE WAY OUT THERE and told us one thing and then the next day tell us something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. We were told there was no money obligation the lease would just be OVER the night before, but now we got a different story. Needless to say we declined and were over dealing with them - leading to finishing out the lease which was nearly over. On Friday the owner called my husband and was rude regarding the entire transaction and prior conversations. We were not having any of that and my husband was incredibly irritated and annoyed considering the run around we had experienced all week. PS. The car that was SOLD the Saturday before we visited...was still on their website up until last weekend. NEVER will return to Darcars - the whole experience was SHADY and felt incompetently run. read more

Just drove up from Florida with our new KIA and needed to get an oil change and tire rotation per the schedule. Made the online appointment for 100 pm Monday Jan 20th. First its hard to find the service dept entrance because there is no marked entrance for it. Probabaly want to fix that or ity could be a legal quagmire but thankfully the sales guys upstairs indicated we just drive down the ramp and the door would open automatically. When we arrived in the office the gentleman were friendly and told us it would take 2 hours. No problem its a business day and they are probably busy, although you cant see the service area as it is walled in from next door. Anyway we requested just the oil change, fluids and tire rotation and this special was advertised online at the KIA website in Lanham for $49.95, good deal. So we had lunch across the street and came back. I noticed at that point that only one lady was in the waiting area and just one person came to get their car in the time were were waiting?? So when the customer representative on duty told us it would still be another hour when 3 o'clock rolled around, was suspicious. I think what really happened was they were short staffed and nobody was available to work and I told them that. Go to the other dealers if you want a quick oil change. Its understandable to wait 3 hours if the place were actually busy or you are getting a break job, not a snow job! read more

This is not a review highlighting a poor purchase or service event. Rather a piece of comedy. I saw a CMAX listed on cars.com at DARCARs and was willing to purchase sight unseen, however, no matter how hard I tried to engage with someone to make a sale, I failed. Not at negotiating a fair price for both, I mean I could barely get anyone to even talk to me about the car in discussion. It as if they didn't want to be bothered. Perhaps this a Ford auto museum, not a dealership? Not interested in sales? I'm pretty sure the owner is interested in selling cars. So a shout out to the owner: your employees are not doing their jobs. Very upset my personal time was wasted TRYING to engage with this dealer on a potential car sale. Sounds crazy, but true, a dealership not really all that interested in selling cars. And note to Dealer/Owner: I got shifted around your sales force. Literally, the GM (A), Sales Manager (T), and multiple sales folks. I'm not into publicly lashing folks, but feel free to DM me and I will share their names. It is not the floor sales guys I fault the most, but rather extremely inept "Management". They should be replaced. We visited DARCARS Lanham Kia this weekend, did a test drive and were ready to buy (the gentleman we did the test drive with was very nice). However, when we started to discuss price, a new gentleman came over to offer us a price and gave us an extremely high price based on our research on prices in the area. When we politely countered, with a fair price based on our research in the area, he waited over 30+ minutes before he "spoke to his manager" and came back with another very high offer, saying how much money he would lose if he did it. When we countered again, based on our research of car prices in the area, he left for another 30+ minutes and came back to ask what kind of car we drove, when we had already told him we did not have a car. Then, 30 minutes later he came back with the exact same offer as before. It was the typical horrible experience they tell you about car dealers. He did not even include the $500 kia cash bonus that the manufacturer is offering until we mentioned it, guess he was going to pocket it. Thankfully, we left and went to another kia dealer, and they were efficient, and their original price offer was better than what we were trying to negotiate. So we purchased our car there- same day. read more

Horrible service and horrible treatment of customers. I was charged $275.00 for repairing a part of my truck at my usual ford location, but their wait time was 3 week. So, I decided to use this one because it was next day, and now I understand why it was next day. No one there is helpful, and I ended up being charged $735.00 and they charged me $40 to put diesel in my truck and I got it back with less than 1/4 of the tank (the truck fills up with 90). They are mean and often forgot about me. I had to call them to remind them about my truck.... multiple times. read more

On 12/3/2016. We put a deposit on a 2013 Toyata Prius C one in Metallic Blue to prevent it from being sold before we could get a check from our credit union. We returned on 12/04/2016 to receive a purchase order to give to our credit union. The car was sold to a person willing to pay more on 12/6/2016. Darcars sold this vehicle while still holding our $500 deposit. We were not notified. We learned of this transaction on 12/7/2016 when we arrived to purchase the car. We had to initiate the process of our deposit being refunded back to us. We still have not received our deposit back as of 12/7/2016 and a check will be sent in the mail. We are still consulting with whomever we can to see if what Darcars of Lanham has done is legal. We are writing letters to all that we can to inform the proper authorities of what has transpired. As of now, I am writing reviews on every forum I can to ensure that before anyone comes here, they understand the kind of operation this dealership is running. If you can, do not purchase from this dealership. If you must, do not give them any of your money until you have the keys in your hand. I got in an accident and my car was towed here to the collision center. So I came and signed paper work authorizing my car to be worked on. The next day an adjuster called stating my car was totalled and I can come get my belongings out of my car. When I arrived to my car I noticed missing lug nuts and someone stole my matching tires and rims and switched them with mismatched tires and the same rims but with scratches. I spoke with the manager he acted as if I was crazy and was in denial. Later that evening he called saying a worker I.e. helper took them stating he thought my car was totalled. I mean totalled or not why still from customers. I was livid however if it wasn't for my job I would have shown the other side. To add insult to injury the manager asked me if I wanted to escalate the matter. I mean stealing from work means lose your job in my book. I will not be returning here at all.
