It wasn't a check engine light but it was related to the keyless start. The light never stopped anything, so I ignored it lol. But I finally was like, let me get this looked at before my warranty expires. I dropped it off Sunday night at Carmax in Laurel but they referred me to Omega because they don't handle anything with programming. I called Omega early yesterday morning, and I explained that my car was already at Carmax (basically next to them) and they said they didn't have availability until Thursday but DJ said they could squeeze me in. Carmax transferred my car there and then a few hours later DJ told me they did actually find an issue. I truly know nothing about the warranty I have, he gave me the info to contact them to get a rental (since my warranty covered that). He was also very nice, has great communication via phone and text, and explained everything in layman's terms. He also told me another issue related to my catalytic converter that isn't failing right now but even when it does to remember the following "In Maryland, you do not have to replace a catalytic converter if you spend at least $450 on emissions-related repairs and still fail your Vehicle Emissions Inspection Program (VEIP) test." Oil changes fall under emissions-related repairs, so this will save me thousands of dollars. Thank you!!

The bottom line is for a 20 minute initial installation I was at this shop 5 different days a total of over 6 hours and the job was not completed for worthless explanations; could not get it calabrated, we need another time to paint it, we are ordering a new one etc. The last visit I was told the car was being washed and it would be ready in 10 minutes - a complete lie. I asked for the manager and was told they were having problems installing it. All these visits I was misinformed, actually lied to, on the time frame to replace the mirror of which none were accurate. I left without the mirror replaced. Went to another shop, part was ordered and when it arrived, I waited while they replaced in in 55 minutes. I have used RPM a number of times with good results, but this experience could not have been any worse. ps I have never written a negative review before - but I feel this is extremely warrented.

I had a slow leak in a tire, so I dropped by, talked to Leonardo, the owner, and about 10 minutes later I had a nail pulled out of my rear tire, tire fixed and reinstalled! Great prices too! About 75% cheaper than the big name tire chains on that same road! And it feels good to give your business to a local business! They are fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

DONT USE THIS PLACE!!! My uncle, an 83 year old man was totally taken advantage of by the owner. He took his Lincoln Cartier in for an alignment, which he was referred to this place from the used auto dealership he purchased the car from in Laurel. The mechanic BROKE EVERY SINGLE cap cover on each tire!!!! The owner promised to replace them, HOWEVER, he failed to follow through on that promise. The same afternoon I took my car back to them and the Tech looked for any leaks or other issues but all looked good, Morgan wanted to check my cabin filter inside my car and when he pulled it out he noticed it had been put in wrong by the last place that had changed my oil which was Jiffy Lube. They had crushed it when the tech at Jiffy lube took it out and put it back in. Morgan at Ft Meade auto center ask if I could go buy a Cabin Filter and bring it back to him and he will put the new one in the correct way and he did just that and my A.C. has been putting out much cooler air, im 100% satisfied and will recommend this place to everyone.

They were quick and didn't take long at all for the inspection. They gave us copies of the quoted repair work needed to pass since they failed us. They gave us two versions- cheaper parts ($1,800) and more expensive parts ($2,400). We needed work done on the steering column which honestly I never noticed had any problem but apparently there were tons of issues. We took the quotes to another mechanic we heard about and told them what needed to be done (without giving them thoroughbred's quoted prices) and the other mechanic quoted us at half the amount. So needless to say we took the repair work elsewhere. I took off a star because it seems Thoroughbred is pretty overpriced and price matters a lot to me when it comes to work on my car.

Would not recommend. Took our car in for Maryland Safety Inspection and it failed because the…read moreparking brake did not hold the car. Was informed it needed new rear brake rotors for it to work, so we authorized $576 in work - $209 in parts for two new rotors and $354 in labor to replace rotors and adjust the parking brake cables. They informed us after that this did not fix the issue and that they adjusted the cables as much as they could. They said it would be an additional $876 to replace both cables - $176 for parts and $700 for labor. I asked what cables they are using and they confirmed they were the Febi Bilstein cables which you can buy a set of for $27.38 online. 530% parts markup. I asked them about this and they said they could drop the parts price to $140, which is still a 400% parts markup! The situation felt fishy so we did not authorize the work and picked up the car. I Googled how to adjust the parking brake on the car, clicked the first link, and followed the instructions. Cost me $0 in parts and was extremely easy and now the parking brake held. Took the car back to the shop for re-inspection and it passed. Either they are incompetent and do not know how to adjust a parking brake cable, even though I was able to do it myself quickly by following the first result on Google, or they are trying to make a quick buck, which seems very possible considering the 530% parts markup on the cable. At the end of the day they made $576 off of us (plus $110 for the inspection) replacing rear rotors that likely didn't need to be replaced to fix the issue anyways. Very glad we didn't authorize $876 in a "fix" that was not needed. At least they were very friendly... can't say I will be bringing any of our cars back here.
