I really enjoy working with Bowie Auto Clinic. I recently moved to the area and I was accustomed to taking my car to the dealership for repairs as the dealership where I used to live was incredible. The one around here, not so much. I took my car to the dealer for the last time when they told me I needed $1.8k in repair work, this was on top of other visits where they told me I needed other expensive work. I took it to Bowie Auto Clinic for a second opinion and they said the issues were there but not critical, like certain things wearing out but not at end of life. I went ahead and got the work done anyway because, that's what I do. And it was $1,000 less. Now I've been back for oil changes, tire rotations, strange sounds. Do not get service here!! I had an oil change at this establishment about 6 months ago and the destroyed my oil pan because my oil has been leaking ever since. I took my vehicle to other places, one at the dealership another to another local mechanic who finally noticed my oil pan was ruined! Bowie Auto Clinic was AMAZING! We had a check engine light come on. They took our van right away and had the problem diagnosed and repaired within 24 hours! They were reasonably priced, had good communications along the way, and we had a safe van again. They were fantastic checking out our 2nd car as well. Knowing that we had a local place to bring our cars to that have courteous and helpful people to work with us was a huge comfort. WARNING!!!!! For any consumer seeking professionalism, competence, and integrity in automotive service -- particularly those who drive foreign vehicles -- I urge you to avoid Bowie Auto Clinic at all costs. Jimmy (Owner)Shawn (Manager) My ordeal began approximately two months ago when I brought my vehicle in to address an issue with the catalytic converter. From the very beginning, it was evident that the staff's knowledge and technical understanding of foreign-made cars were alarmingly limited. Instead of conducting a proper diagnostic scan, they relied entirely on outdated information from prior visits. The converter was replaced, but within days, the check engine light reappeared. Upon returning, I was told that "nothing was wrong" -- the light was merely reset and dismissed. Unsurprisingly, the issue resurfaced shortly thereafter. The staff then claimed the converter itself was defective and replaced it once more. Within a week, the same issue returned. The original technician, Melvin, was no longer employed there, leaving Shawn, the manager, to handle the matter. He openly admitted that he had "no idea" why the light was on but insisted it "needed to be fixed." As the situation spiraled, the explanations became increasingly absurd. At one point, I stated that I would be trading the vehicle in, thus afterwards  he than  asked how long the check engine light needed to remain off for that to be possible, they fumbled for an answer, suggesting they would "figure it out." Later, they claimed they would need to order the proper part from Lexus -- only to request additional payment after I had already settled the initial bill. Each interaction required me to restate prior agreements because of their chronic disorganization and lack of accountability. The following day, I was asked to bring the vehicle back in. To my disbelief, I learned that the part they claimed to have ordered was never actually requested. The incompetence was staggering. The owner later admitted there should have been clearer communication regarding the available parts and brands, yet such dialogue never occurred. Instead, what I received was a feeble attempt at repair: rather than installing a new part, they merely cleaned the oxygen sensors and returned the vehicle as if the issue were resolved. The experience left me utterly disgusted. The service was not only careless but bordered on deceptive. Their inability to properly diagnose and repair a foreign car, coupled with a dismissive and patronizing attitude, reflects an alarming lack of both skill and respect for paying customers -- especially women. I will now be taking my vehicle to an authorized Lexus dealership to verify what was actually done. I strongly caution others against trusting Bowie Auto Clinic with their cars, their money, or their time. Very unprofessional. Had my car for almost a week never called to give me a status. When I called I was told my representative was off. I was told the manager would call me back and he didn't. When I called back I was told he left for a family emergency and that they didn't know what the emergency was. I didn't ask nor care what the emergency was. I said can I speak to the assistant manage, he then informed me that he was the assistant manager. I said can't someone look into your system and give me a status. He tells me they all have their own customers and can't be checking on somebody else's customers. I said someone should always be able to look in the system and give a customer an update because you all work for Kia and he hung up on me. The rep was not much better when she called me back the next day. She was rude and I had to tell her she needed to speak to me in a professional manner. The dealership changed hands and management since I purchased my car from them. The people who are running it now are terrible. Avoid this dealership because they don't seem to know what professional and good customer service is. read more

The owner is nice but clueless. He takes work that's he's not qualified for, and he leaves cars on the lot for a long time. He has NO sense of urgency and he overcharges for what he offers in terms of services. You'll be better off at a car dealership, because at least there, you'll have a better chance of getting your rental vehicle! read more

I took my truck here for breaks please stay away from this shop. The informed me that I needed to pay 2,500.00 for breaks, calibers so I decided to get a second opinion and was informed that they had lied. I was able to look under my car and discovered there was nothing wrong with my calibers. I'm so upset as we are in a pandemic and John/ Bowie Auto Clinic would steal money from me. I like many have a lot of challenges but I guess I should be Cautious of thieves. I did not tell the to start on my car before the estimate but the did so I paid $50 for the LIE & $150 for a oil change. $200 dollars! read more

I've had these people work on my vehicle before. Didn't have a problem. Today I went in and even though the lobby was completely empty, John COMPLETELY ignored me standing in front of him for an inordinate amount of time. He proceeded to make TWO calls while I stood there. Is it not protocol to greet your customers and deal with who is in front of you? Not sure why the rudeness or arrogance, but clearly they don't need the business anymore or make customer service a priority. I eventually walked out. Still he didn't bother to address me. Common decency and humanity is lacking. If it matters to you that you are treated with respect and dignity, THIS IS NOT YOUR PLACE. Guillermo is sorely missed, he was great at customer service. Making the most of my day off at Bowie Auto Clinic, called at 4:15 to see if they could fit me in for a complete brake and rotor swap. Getting close to closing time I knew my chances were slim. They got me right in and offered a fair price comparable to the other garages near by. The staff was pleasant and knowledgeable and jump right into working on my vehicle. I pulled into the shop at 4:22 and they started swapping out parts at 4:25. They have a very large, clean waiting room with a television and free WiFi where I found myself doing school work online while waiting. At 5:04 my car is back on the ground all four brakes and rotors swapped. I appreciate all the work gentlemen I will recommend the shop to everyone. read more

Today was great thanks to Bowie Auto Clinic. Very honest and informative which I greatly appreciate because although I already did some of my own research they provided additional information I wouldn't look for otherwise. I was allotted the opportunity to use the WiFi to study for an upcoming exam and they were even considerate of the noise levels. :) like you just don't get that anywhere else. Now over to the vehicle services - I was told I would be there for a few because of the services I needed (brakes, oil change, and a lil quick inspection) but honestly in my own opinion I didn't think it took them long at all! (I showed up around 0853, filled out paper work and my car was in the garage right at 0900) I was finished right at 1130. The pricing was fair especially compared to other places within the area and when I expressed my concern for my tires they made sure I was at ease before I departed for the day. It was explained to me in detail the types of tires I had. I was provided a guesstimate of when I needed to get them changed and I was also notified that the type of tires that I wanted were on the pricer side. I was also made aware of their process in getting tires installed. So if you do need a tire change I suggest calling ahead and scheduling. All in all my visit surpassed my expectations and, I look forward to going back. I will most definitely be referring my family and friends!!! Thank you so much! read more

I have taken my Land Rover to BAC several times for repairs. They have done an excellent job each time. Prices were way less than the LR dealer and another place that gave me an estimate. I had a big problem during a really cold spell last winter. It would barely run. I called and they recommended running several bottles of injector cleaner through it and it cleared up the problem at no cost. That is great service. Always my first choice for repairs. read more

10 STARS FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE !!!!!!! Got my car inspected and needed a new front control arm bushing , tie rod , and a new alignment. Ugh!! Called 2 other shops for price quote and got crappy customer service and very expensive . I checked Yelp and read the great reviews for BAC so I called and spoke with Daniel ! Super nice and friendly, talk about customer service! 10 Stars! I booked the appointment for 5/10/18 and arrived @ 10:30am . I was going to Uber back to work but they said someone could drive me back to my office since it was just a couple miles away . Woo~hoo ! No Uber fee ! Rosa , who was super nice too , drove me back to my office . They called around 3:30pm to say work was completed and Rosa would come pick me up . I jumped in the drivers seat to drive her back and Pay , could tell immediately how tight the steering felt and I literally drove down the road "hands free in perfect alignment. I feel like I'm always here. I have had multiple cars serviced with them from simple oil changes to tires and alignment, struts, brakes, rotors, AC, control arms replaced. Bowie Auto Clinic is professional, friendly, and honest. They are very nice and also prompt. I like that it is easy to call them and schedule an appointment and how they will take their time to explain why work has to be done and they will give you option or recommendation with no added pressure to do the work that day. I know they are honest bc I usually get more than one opinion; often times, I will take my car to my dealership first to get multi point inspection, then I bring it here so they can look over it. Bowie Auto Clinic always gives me a better price and service. Chang is a great mechanic and will listen to you if your car needs to be test driven. I have great interaction with John and Melvin as well; they're the best! What I like most is they have treated every customer coming in here the same (with kindness, courtesy, and respect) from what I have seen despite their race or gender, they take the time to greet you promptly and listen to your concerns -- very important when it comes to your car and safety! I don't base this review off of one experience. I base this off on 6 times I have been to this shop for car trouble in the last 8 months. My car has been off the road for 6 years and its a 10 year old Toyota, so needless to say it needed some work. These guys have given me such great service and they've explained a lot of things to me when I ask why and if something needs to be fixed. One time, they walked me under my car and showed me what was wrong with it. My most recent time I visited Bowie auto clinic was for a leak in the car. Bowie auto clinic was down 2 mechanics that week so I took it to another local spot who told me the leak was coming from my trunk. Which was dry... I took it back to my main guys for a second look and they told me my AC had been leaking, quoted me a price that was 200 dollars less than the other guys. I reviewed some other reviews because I was curious what other people had to say. Some say this this place is not female friendly, but I don't think that is true. I say it's really hard to find good, honest mechanics and basing a review off of one experience is misleading. I am a female, they've not taken advantage about my little knowledge of cars. I've gone back to these guys again and again and I'll continue to do so. read more

So I've actually held this review in for a while because I truly wanted to get over the situation and not let it bother me but here goes: I came here for a wheel alignment with a coupon from Groupon and throughout my visit the customer service was great and the mechanic updated me throughout my visit on the status of my car. This was all fine and dandy and I left satisfied. While I was there I asked for a brake check and paid $25 for it. The mechanic did so and came back to report that my brake fluid was "pitch black and really needed to be flushed out" he quoted me a price for that service in case I wanted to come back in. (Didn't think much of it at the time). A week or so later I decided to get my brake fluid flushed from another place and come to find out: my brake fluid was golden yellow and Bowie Auto Clinic LIED about the color of my fluid in hopes to get me to come back and pay for an unnecessary service. My new mechanic at Meineke brought me in to their garage to explain to me that my previous mechanic (Bowie Auto Clinic) had lied to me and they showed me the inside of my car which displayed a perfect color for brake fluid. Luckily I never went back to Bowie Auto but let it be known that even if someone pretends to have good service and updates you every five minutes, Bowie Auto Clinic LIES to try to get you to pay for additional services. And before y'all try to act like y'all did not lie I have printed copies of the quotes you gave me "in case I came back to replace my brake fluid". This location is not female friendly and they take advantage of people that they assume are new drivers. Now back to my wheel alignment and why I decided to write this review today: I was driving on the freeway today and my car started swiveling again on the road as if I didn't have realigned wheels. After my experience being lied to about my brake fluid, I can only assume that Bowie Auto Clinic fucked up my wheels too. If y'all are brave enough to lie about something simple such as the color of brake fluid, then it's hard to trust that Bowie Auto Clinic performed my wheel alignment properly. All I can say is don't come here because they will act very nice to your face but are lying to you behind the scenes in hopes to get you to pay for additional services. I have seen this trend across their other negative reviews and I'm glad it's not just me being finessed by this untrustworthy establishment. DO NOT GO HERE. I have evidence :) and don't try to reply to my review gaslighting me because y'all truly try to rip people off to keep your business going and claim there's additional things wrong with my car when there wasn't. Stopped in at 8:30 am to request assistance with changing my taillight, not just a bulb but an entire unit. This required "stuff" in the trunk door to be taken apart. I was told they could fit me in and try to be done by 3 pm. They called me within 2 hours saying the job was complete! I only came for a simple MD inspection. However I will say, they were true to their time of 9am and I wasn't given a runaround upon inspection completion. I called a few days in advance to set up the appointment, unlike many other shops I called they actually took reservations and were true to form upon arrival. They were helpful and prompt when I was asking questions on line (with Mark) before my first personal visit. They were friendly and resourceful when I was there personally today for my RX350. Their waiting room was clean and K-cup coffee is available for free. They also have CLEAN unisex rest room. I also visited their auto garage during their lunch time and (no one was working at that time) the floor was surprisingly clean. During my wait, technicians pop in/out time after time to talk to store manager Guillermo and none of them were SHOUTING nor CURSING like OTHERS auto shops did. I did not feel like I was visiting an auto shop, yeah they were that professional !! They took care of my car as if it was their own. My experience reflect those customers who rated 5 stars recently. I'm going to preface this by saying I am very anal about my cars. I notice the smallest scratches, dents, imperfections, etc. I also do my own maintenance (e.g., oil changes, brakes) because I do not trust shops. The only time I will consider going to a shop is for jobs that I cannot do myself because I do not have the equipment. Unfortunately for me, I don't have the equipment to mount/balance tires or do an alignment. Fortunately for me, I was referred to Daniel at Bowie Auto Clinic. Being a car guy himself, Daniel understands how anal us car enthusiasts can get, and treats other peoples cars like his own. He's a friendly guy, very welcoming, and honest - he doesn't try to sell you services that you don't need. For my G37, he was very careful and meticulous with ensuring that the suspension settings were perfect. Very happy with the service at Bowie Auto Clinic. Guillermo, Jimmy, and the rest of the team there are top notch mechanics who take the time to explain to you -- in whatever level of detail you care to engage in - your options, pricing, and technical aspects of the repairs they can conduct. I took my Acura MDX in for a replacement of part of the cooling system and a transmission problem. While ultimately I ended up repairing more of the cooling system than I planned, the fact that they a) explained to me what was going on as the situation developed and b) had no problem working with my OEM sourced parts greatly impressed me. The front desk kept me apprised by email and voicemail through the process. At not time did I feel outside of the decision making process. The transmission issue I went in with still exists, but the technicians walked me through the options on the way forward for the repair and I feel very much in control o the possible alternatives as I choose when non-urgent repair can and will be conducted. You RARELY ever get that from any mechanic shop. Their pricing structure is on par with non-dealer mechanic shops, and I consider it very fair. They are *not* cheap, but I'm a believer in quality and in this case I feel I was charged fairly. Bottom Line: I'll be taking my vehicles into Bowie Auto Clinic for routine and emergent repairs for the foreseeable future. read more

I was really happy with the work the collision shop in Laurel did on my Fiat 500. I had gotten 4 different estimates and this place was the least expensive. They ended up having to order more parts after they took the car apart so the price ended up an additional $400, but they sill beat my first estimate's total price by $800 even with that. They fixed my car in one day, which was much faster than the other places. There were a few downsides to going with this place. 1- Their business hours were 8:30 to 5:30, which was super inconvenient and 2. I really had no proof that they actually NEEDED those additional parts and between the time they called me to say they needed the parts and called me to tell me my car was completed was 4 hours- which seemed really suspect to me. How did they get the parts so fast? Now, the damage looked bad enough that what they said was totally plausible so I just okayed the work and paid the additional $400, but I would suggest that anyone who goes there ask them for the old parts so that you can have peace of mind. They are really nice people and I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem. read more

The work was done ahead of time and he even asked me to come back in a week for a follow-up. Who does that?! Grateful and lucky to have come to such a professional shop. I came to have a Maryland State Inspection performed. Guillermo (spelling, sorry) booked me and Mark performed my inspection. These guys were straight with me on what was happening with my car and did not give me any kind of run around. After I asked to have a simple recommended procedure performed on my car, Mark waived the fee and sent me on my way. I am not writing this glowing review because Mark waived my fee - AND - I also do not endorse asking for free things to be done at any shop. But the way they treated me and my wife gave us peace of mind with their service. This is how shops loyal customers. They definitely got a returning customer.! PS.
