These guys are awesome! I was in the market specifically for a 2017-18 Ford Focus ST. I had looked around at a few dealers and found one at a Ford dealer in Falls Church, VA. The vehicle was listed with a starting price 2k less than any dealer within 300 miles. I was pre approved with my bank with a rate of 3%. To the best of my knowledge..that's a solid rate. The original dealer told me they could meet my number but I had to finance through Ford Motor Credit. I explained that I was content with the rate in recieved and was not looking to finance anywhere else but my bank. They wouldn't budge and the difference was only $1200 from what i wanted to pay and what they offered me ( without financing through Ford Motor Credit). So I thanked them for their time and got up from the table. Fast forward to two days later... I received a phone call from Idrissa Bah from Darcars. He was calling me back from a previous online inquiry I had made weeks earlier. I spoke with Idrissa about my situation at the other dealer and he asked if I could forward him all my info and he could see if he could help. Doubting he could get me a better deal, I still went ahead and sent it. Why not try at least, right?? Not even 2 mins after sending him my info, I received a call from Tavin, the General Sales Manager ( assuming that's what GSM stands for)..this guy is the MAN. He reviewed my info and not only did he meet my number but also said didn't have to go through Ford Motor Credit, my check was fine. I told him he had a deal! I went to the Darcars that night after work...lo and behold I'm the proud owner of a new Ford Focus ST! Everyone I came into contact with at the dealer was awesome. From Hillary, the online rep..to Idrissa, my sales guy....to Tavin the Sales Manager...and my guy Chico who handled all the finances of the deal. I could not have been happier. This was one of the most frustrating and poorly communicated dealership service experiences I have ever had. I scheduled an appointment for an oil change and two safety recalls. When I arrived, I stood there for 16 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me because the service advisor was on the phone. After waiting approximately four hours, I was finally told that my vehicle was finished. I had shuttled to a Starbucks about half a mile away, so I called the dealership three times to let them know I was returning and to confirm everything was ready. No one answered. After waiting another 25 minutes, I walked the half mile back--only to find an employee sitting at the desk looking at his phone. The service advisor checked me out without ever mentioning that one of the two recalls had not been completed. I only discovered this days later when I received an email asking me to schedule another appointment for the same recall. When I called for clarification, I was casually told, "Oh, we had to order parts." That should have been communicated before the appointment, during the four-hour wait, or--at the absolute minimum--when I checked out. Instead, they allowed me to leave believing that both safety recalls had been completed. The most concerning part is not simply that the part needed to be ordered; it is the complete lack of communication at every stage. Customers should not have to chase down employees, make repeated unanswered phone calls, and discover through an automated email that safety-related work was never performed. When I called today to ask whether another appointment was necessary, the advisor's attitude was indifferent. Four hours of waiting, multiple unanswered calls, an incomplete recall, and zero proactive communication. This level of customer service is unacceptable. I would strongly recommend that anyone bringing a vehicle here verify every detail before leaving, because apparently being told your car is "finished" does not mean the work you scheduled was actually completed. read more

This review is about DARCARS Ford Kia Lanham in Lanham, MD. I remember when DARCARS started selling from a warehouse near Dulles. Their reputation wasn't much better or worse than most small operations. But when I saw their dealership in Lanham I thought they had established themselves. I talked by phone with a manager and had a written deal in hand. I got a neighbor to drive me over, I was ready to buy the car. In the showroom some smug kid tells me that car wasn't there, it had to go for a repair. As if I've never heard of a bait-and-switch before. Only went here bc they were the only dealership within 250 miles that had the make, model and color combo I was looking for and they were a real pain in the a** to deal with. Via phone and text it was fine. We had some back and forth negotiations which was expected but the games started when I made the 2.5 hour drive to get the vehicle. They tried to offer me $1,000 less on my trade in than we softly agreed on via text because the AC was not blowing cold air bc I hadn't replaced the Freon in the 7 years I had the car. Then when I was going to financing and asked to break down the OTD price, miraculously they were trying to charge me $1,000 more than we had agreed on before I made the 2.5 hour drive down to the dealership. When I showed the guy the texts I had with the GM, he acted surprised and had the balls to apologize and say "this isn't usually how we do business" before we drove our car off the lot. Only reason they're getting 2 stars is because they were the only dealership that had the car I was looking for, and I love the car. But that has nothing to do with the goofs running this joint. If you're going to make the mistake of purchasing your car here, negotiate via text so you have a paper trail when they start playing their clown games. read more

I purchased my vehicle from this location as well as the Premium Maintenance package so I wouldn't have any concerns when it came time for service. Scheduling service is easy and convenient but actually receiving service at this dealership is a nightmare. Why does a routine oil change take 4+ hours? There is no sense of urgency with the folks here. I'm near tears because this is beyond frustrating and this happens EVERY TIME I'm here. read more

I have been going to Lanham Ford Kia since I purchased my car in 2016. I have always received fast and friendly service! Over the years, I keep coming for oil changes and they keep giving me excellent service. There is a new system in place that allows you to confirm the services that you would like to add on, but it only shows the price for the part and not for the labor. This can be confusing. But, I have found them to be very ethical in all of my dealings which have included brake replacement, purchasing new tires, seat belt replacement, and a new engine. The last two were covered under my amazing extended warranty so I've gotten my moneys worth and then some from that. They also keep me informed about recalls and of course those are always free as well. They continue to be professional and courteous and I will keep coming as I roll into 150,000 miles of excellent service! read more

My DARCARS Experience - 2024 A Total Disaster To Whom It May Concern, I have been dealing with DARCARS Lanham for over ten years, having purchased four vehicles from this dealership. Unfortunately, my most recent purchase was, without question, the absolute worst experience I have ever had. So, let's start at the beginning. The 2024 Disaster Begins In May 2024, my 2019 Kia Sorento was totaled. Once my insurance process was complete, I attempted to purchase another vehicle--only to be told I needed a co-signer. Fine. In July 2024, I found a co-signer and moved forward with a 2024 Kia Sorento. During the paperwork process, my co-signer and I were in a bit of a rush to get to another dealership before they closed. However, I did notice my co-signer's name was listed before mine, and I questioned it. I was told, "Oh, you're fine! You're both owners!" and--like a fool--I trusted you. BIG MISTAKE. Title Trouble & Loan Lies Fast forward to August 2024. The title gets sent to my supposed co-signer's house. I call DARCARS three times before finally reaching someone--only to be told there was nothing they could do because the loan had already been processed. When I asked why this happened, the response? "That's the way the loan company approved it." Bull. Let's not forget the $1,000 down payment I wasn't informed about until paperwork time, even though my credit score was 614 and my "co-signer" had a near 800 score. Should've been another red flag, right? But wait--there's more! I was pressured into a 2024 Ford Edge because, apparently, it was being discontinued, and there was some big "special" going on. I was basically guaranteed approval. Sound familiar? Another hint I should've walked away. The "Maintenance" Scam Every time I've bought a car, I get the maintenance package--no exceptions. This time was no different, or so I thought. I go in for my 5K oil change, expecting to pay $30 with my maintenance package. Instead, I'm hit with a $168 bill. Turns out, I didn't get the maintenance package at all. What I "actually" purchased was the "Ensurance Package," which includes gems like: Annual Reconditioning $600 TradeVantage Registration Windshield Protection & Replacement Credit Nitrogen-Filled Tires Clear Door Edge & Cup Guards CABIN SANITATION & ANTIMICROBIAL SURFACE SHIELD (Wow, thanks!) $2,500 Collision Credit, Stolen Vehicle Credit, and Diminished Value Protection Now, why in the world would I ever choose this over a maintenance package when I have full coverage insurance? Oh, I know, because someone was trying to meet a sales quota. I called the finance department multiple times to either switch or purchase the actual maintenance package, left detailed messages. Guess how many calls I got back? ZERO. Eventually, I just gave up. Service Department Circus Now let's talk about my latest DARCARS headache. I receive an alert on my app about a recall and schedule an appointment for a Saturday at 10 AM, the one day I'm off work. I'm told the service will take two hours. I leave, run errands, and call around 12:30-1 PM to check on my car. The response? "Oh, it'll be another two hours, we take the people that's waiting first." (Excuse me? I had an 10 am appointment.) I finally get my car back at 3:15 PM, only to realize my camera and diagnostics aren't working. I schedule another appointment for the following Saturday, forgetting to check my work schedule. Turns out, I had to work, so I rescheduled for Monday at 7 AM, only to show up and find out the technician doesn't even arrive until 8 AM. Fast forward to nearly 12 PM, and I'm told I have to bring my car back on Thursday because they "need more time." I explain that I work and can't take another day off. I'm assured a loaner car upon drop-off at 9 AM when I drop my car off. The Grand Finale Thursday arrives. I go to drop off my car and guess what? No loaners available until the afternoon. At this point, I express my frustration, and I get another "sorry." (Unfortunately, "sorry" doesn't pay my bills.) Maybe a phone call would've been nice? Instead, I hear "sorry" again. They sure are a bunch of sorry M***** F*****s. I start walking off to go to work, and suddenly, the manager wants to be helpful, "Can I call you when something comes in?" Sure, why not? But let's be real, at this point, he was probably just trying to antagonize me. Now, I'm working on taking my business elsewhere. I have partially written about this issue before. In various places there is probably a considerable thread. Let me first write that I had a wonderful experience buying a slightly used Kia Optima from a third party, Enterprise. That car worked relatively well for me for a good ten years. However, the last two years of my purchase of a Kia Soul has been the definition of bad! Cut to the chase this year, my 2020 Kia Soul began cutting out on me when I either slowed down or stopped at a stop sign or light. Diagnosed at Kia Lanham, it was decided that - covered by 100,000 mile insurance - a new engine would be ordered and installed. For approximately 1 month, I waited without any communication not initiated by me, for any substantive update on my car. Concurrently, I was told 1) that it was not this KIA's policy to supply loaners 2) that they had no loaners available to offer. Not until I complained online did KIA Lanham finally initiate contact with me, offering the same indefinite repair part information, but did offer and supply me with a loaner. In the meantime I had paid approximately $1,800 for rental vehicles. Finally when my actual car was repaired and released to me 7 WEEKS LATER, I submitted my receipt for the month long rental fee I had paid. Approximately, two weeks ago I was informed by KIA that I would not be reimbursed for that cost because only the original owner was covered for extended mileage warranty of 60,000 miles. Why did they offer me the loaner later one; how do you deny reimbursement for someone's inconvenience when your vehicle is the problem and your repair time is what necessitated the customer's expense? How? Yes, this is disgraceful and unacceptable customer service. And know this is probably the fourth time I have made note of this issue. Subtext: tell me how I should ever buy or recommend anyone else buy from KIA again? Yes, this specific service incident is owned by Kia Lanham; however, the denial of reimbursement is KIA Corporate. DO NOT GET SERVICE HERE! These people are INCOMPETENT and DISHONEST. THIS IS NOT A DEALER THAT WILL BE ABLE TO SOLVE YOUR ISSUE QUICKLY NOR CHEAPLY. I had a straight forward issue with my A/C (it wasn't working). First time I had LKS look at it (it took 3 weeks to get in their schedule), they told me it would cost $1.7k total diagnose and fix. Ok. It took them a week to fix it (evac and recharge). Had to rent a car. Cool. A few days later, A/C failed again. LKS said there is a leak again and they needed to redo the same evac and recharge and replace the condenser. $2.6k this time and no credit for the work they had to redo because they "weren't sure if the condenser was the problem." Not cool but they are the dealer and surely they will fix it this time. Moreover their rep promised (not in writing) I wouldn't have to pay a third time if it didn't have to work. Ok whatever it's summer and I need A/C. So I trusted them. A few days later, the A/C stopped. I called to followup on the offer to comp the repairs after over $4k of work (about 25% of the value of my car) and they said they'd get back to me. I waited a few days and called back and they said "sorry, best we can do is to do the diagnostic work for feee but they would charge me for materials and labor." Basically they lied. THEY ARE DISHONEST. They didn't diagnose the problem after $4k and two diagnostic inspections. THEY ARE INCOMPETENT. AVOID! read more

This service center is a NIGHTMARE!! Please don't take your vehicle here. Purchased a new 2024 vehicle in September 2024 and returned to have an oil change in 2/2024. I was shocked when I approached my car 4/17/24 and oil was running from the bottom of my car. I had the vehicle towed to Lanham Kia where I purchased the car and made them aware of the issue. I am not going to drill down on the POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE of the service advisor and service manager but no one wants to be held accountable. The service manager later said that my oil plug was missing and someone removed it. Im not sure who can get underneath a low to the ground SUV and pull out the oil plug especially knowing that the oil pan is protected with a cover "THAT YOU HAVE TO SCREW OFF". The service manager proceeds to explain to me that my car was vandalized, and I need to contact my insurance and file a claim for vandalism. I explained my car has only been here for service and the only service I have had was an oil change. Now the sails manager said I need an engine because the engine is now seized! Basically, he wants me to pay for his staff's horrific mistakes. This is a to be continued.... I am hurt and angry that people we entrust with our safety and security of our vehicles are so careless and don't want to and will not admit to their mistakes and fix what they have broken. I don't know how they sleep at night knowing they are exploiting people for their financial gain as a dealership. Meanwhile they have the customers take on the hardship of their mistakes and take the financial hit of their MISTAKES! DONT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!!!! This is beyond depressing and stressful! If I could give 0 starts I would. The people here are dishonest and absolutely without morals. My 84 year old grandmother has been without her car off and on since January of this year (it is now end of July!!!!). After getting serviced after the car was vandalized, the car didn't pass inspection. This is a newer car, less than 35k miles going to the shop. They replaced the door with some beater door that flooded the first time it rained. That was in March, and she had the car back for all of a month before there was engine issues as well. The car is still under warranty (under 40k miles), so the problem should have been resolved relatively quickly, right? You'd be wrong. The car went back on 5/23 and since then no one has been able to answer what is going on/when the issue should be resolved. Overall, don't waste your time. They do not care about the people. They are lazy, inconsiderate, and have an avoidant style of doing business. How dare you all treat an 84 year old widow so dismissively. And you can't even call back to give any updates. She is still paying on a car that she has ZERO access to. read more

I have a 2020 Kia Telluride that had been having issues since last year. I have serviced my vehicle in Bowie since the purchase. I purchased the Maintenace package to avoid having to pay anything for service. Long story short, I went to Bowie and the person I was working with was no longer employed there. The person I encountered was very rude, not listening and just told me if I'm having issues, I need a new engine. I was upset so I contacted the Lanham Kia. I spoke with Steven, and he listened to what I had to say, my concerns and my worries. He told me to bring him the truck so his team can look at it and they will let me know what I need. I took him the truck they did what was needed to do and was informed I needed a new engine. I am still covered under the warranty, so I wasn't worried about cost. Steven went above and beyond for me to ensure I had a rental car; he talked to me every step of the way; he was proactive with helping to resolve issues that raised and made sure everything was taken care of with ease. I am definitely returning to Lanham Kia because of Steven. Steven is very professional, accommodating and great to work with. read more

Horrible customer service at the Service Center. I made an appointment online, showed up on time, and then waited 3 hours and 15 minutes for them to tell me that the part I needed wasn't in stock! I even identified the part (a fuse from the recent recall) when I made the online appointment, so they knew all of this ahead of time. They also could have just checked if it was in stock when I arrived. Avoid this Service Center that does not value your time. read more

On June 6th, I dropped off my car to have the transmission looked at. When I went to pick up my car later that day, I was told that the part was on backorder and that I had to leave my car until the work can be done. It has been 13 weeks!!! 13 weeks since I dropped off my car and I have yet to receive either a courtesy email or phone call regarding my car. This has to be a worst customer service that anyone could have. read more

Our experience with DARCARS Kia of Lanham was extremely disappointing. Do not expect them to figure out anything that is wrong with your car because they will not go the extra effort. We arrived there at 2:00PM for a multi-point inspection and also told the Service Consultant we wanted the car checked out because we were having several issues. We received a call and the Service Consultant told us that the only thing wrong with our car was that the car needed an oil change, we stated that we were having issues with the battery and she stated that the battery was "medium" and said it was ok even though we had stated that the battery did not hold a charge for longer than a few hours and then needed to be jumped. While, on the phone with her we told her that we knew we needed new tires, the car was shifting to the right side and the steering wheel was loose. She said she would talk to the technician. We arrived back to DARCARS, and this time her male counterpart helped us in which he read a post-it note on the documentation (which his coworker had put there from our phone call) and told us that "the car was shifting to the right, the steering wheel was loose and the battery needed to be replaced" when we told him that is everything we told his co-worker on the phone he then proceeded to say that for those issues we would need to request a diagnostic, there was nothing they could do with those issues without the diagnostic  and that it would be around $250. At this point, we had already been waiting for 2.5 hours with nothing at all getting done to our car but a multipoint inspection which we know from previous encounters at other dealerships does not take longer than 30-45 minutes. He went through the multi-point inspection and on the sheet the oil change portion stated that we did not need an oil change although he had just told us that the oil was "dirty". We spent over 3 hours here just to have an inaccurate multipoint inspection, after stating that we had real issues with our vehicle. This was a complete waste of time for us with no results being produced. While we were there we also observed multiple employees sitting around, talking on their cell phones and not being professional at all. read more

I left feeling scammed by the Kia service department. They were not up front with costs, changed costs multiple times without giving me anything in writing. I have a prepaid maintenance contact from Kia and I was charged $150 for what should have been a free oil change and tire rotation. In addition I was charged $300 to diagnose (not repair) a wiper fluid hose on my 9 month old car. I will never use them again! read more

I've been to this dealership three times now, and this is far the worst ever. Steven was my salesperson, and Michael was the finance manager. Steven called me in to see if I wanted to trade my Telluride SX in for another truck. When he called me, he (Steven) stated that they had a lot of sales going on, I told him that I still had $30000 left on my truck. He then said that they could work with that. When my husband and I got there, we told him that we did not want to go over our current monthly payments that much. I then proceeded to tell him that I was looking for another Telluride EX or SX or a Sorento EX or SX. Steven started telling us about the EV9, the electric truck, something that we didn't want. It took him 45 minutes to go over that truck and then come back with monthly payments of $1100 after we told him how much we wanted to pay. Once we told him no that we did not want to do that, it's like he gave up. He did not want to go over anything when it came to the Sorento. That's when Michael stepped in. He asked me what options I wanted, and I told him. They had to get the truck from another dealership. I didn't get to test drive it until the car came in. By that time, the paperwork was done. To me, they were just trying to make a sale and not worry about what the customer may need or want. When the truck got there, that's when Steven came out to show me the inside of the truck and not the outside. I'm "4"10, so with that said, the trunk is manual and not an automatic liftgate, I can not reach it to close it. I noticed that once I got home. We had to go back the next day because Steven still had our keys in his pocket. So when we want back on Sunday, April 28, we talk to Marcel, and I believe his name is Chico in the finance department, and asked them if we could change the truck out to the Sorento EX instead. They said let us see what we can do. It's a possibility that they can change the truck out and get the other SorentoEX from Temple Hills. My husband and I were there for an hour (Chico) came back in and said that they couldn't find the keys to the Sorento EX X-line located at Temple Hills, MD. Then they told us to come back tomorrow so that we can work it out. On Monday, I called Kia Finance of American and asked them if they had my paperwork work for the new truck, and they told me no, they don't, they told me that they didn't have a problem with me doing another application if the truck don't fit my needs. At 9 a.m., Michael calls me and says that he will make a call to someone. At 12:01 p.m., he called me back and said that it was denied, as far as me getting the other Sorento EX. Like I said, they were just trying to make a deal and not worry about the customer, what would work for me, and that I am a loyal customer and to be treated like that. Kia Finance of america did not get the paperwork until Thursday. I've even called Darcars Corporation Group, and still no reply. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED it with the KIA Lanham team. read more

I came here having already put a deposit down on a car from another dealer at MSRP, but the wait time was a little long. I saw that Darcars Lanham Kia had a pretty similar car for sale so I called to check it out just to see if they would match the offer. I told them on the phone I wouldnt pay above MSRP. They asked if they could sell it to me at MSRP would I come buy it today. So obviously I stopped in. When I got there they told me it would be $12000(?!) above MSRP. I told the salesman I would not even be considering it and was about to walk out. They kept roping me along making me think they would be able to get rid of that absurd mark-up. Throughout the process I repeatedly told them that I wouldnt be buying the car unless that $12000+ fee was gone (I already have one on hold for MSRP after all), and despite knowing this, they still keep making me feel like we might get something done. They run a hard check on my credit. They keep me and my family waiting for over an hour and a half and finally come back and say that we aren't going to get a deal done. Not to mention that they tried to lowball me on my trade in. $3000-5000 lower than other dealers, which I have in writing. This dealership is your classic, slimy car dealer trope. When you buy a car from Kia, PLEASE read the fine print. I got the free oil package. They did not tell me that is was only free for the first 3 oil change. I have to pay the difference in the kind of oil I use. I have to pay for a the filter and 2 qts, since my car needs 7 qts. They only pay for 5 qts. I ask why my price was different every visit. The price of the oil fluctuates, so I also have to paid the difference for that too. They also are supposed to wash the car. I was told sometime they don't have time. None of this was told to me in the finance room. I had to ask questions after I had already purchased the car the car. read more

I had a warranty air bag replacement for my 2015 Shelby GT500. While I was there I asked them to perform an oil change, wash the car, and check on the battery (car no longer started with a 1.25 year old motorcraft battery. Initially quoted $75 for the oil change, service agent called and stated the oil change was $149. I explained to her that the ford dealerships in Austin, TX and Mystic, CT only charged $65. She told me that's the cost in Bowie, MD for 8 quarts. I recently had 8.5 quarts of oil changed out at Audi of Annapolis for $143 and that included a free car wash. Also, because it was a factory recall, I was due a courtesy vehicle loaner at no cost. Because I commute, I said I guess if your courtesy driver could drop me off and pick me up at New Carrolton station, I don't need the loaner. Took about 10 minutes to find the driver to drop me off. On the pickup from the train station, they would not pick up the phone. Then I called the sales manager, he said he would send the vehicle. Waited another 25 minutes (about 7-10 minutes from the dealership to the New Carrolton station, if even that), still no vehicle. When service finally picked up the phone, I was asked, did I call? Like WTF do you think, that I would've expected you to have telepathy and have been waiting for you to figure out that I was at the train station? The courtesy shuttle showed up about 15 minutes after that. After I was picked up, I was asked to wait while they retrieved the car. Then they said they put my battery receipt back in the car and needed to photo copy it. Another 10 minutes wasted. Just WTF, I guess customer's time isn't valuable where you can just mess with them all day. We were considering DARCAR Nissan for a new vehicle. I guess they won't get that sale. Just the service in Bowie and the surrounding areas in various customer service industries, such as restaurants, dealerships, etc. is just weird. I've lived all over the country but I've never seen people in the service industry have a I don't give a f*ck attitude all the time and expect high tips. Just an odd place to be. Almost like they all took tips on customer service from that one episode of the Chapelle Show and now all the companies are showing it to their new hires. That would explain a lot. read more

I took my 2015 Kia Sportage EX in for a recall on june 7th 2023 initaily it was for recall to replace a fuse that might cause a engine fire. When i got there they said there were additional computer recall updates that needed to be done. I said go ahead and do all the recall computer updates . They said it will take a couple of hours. I returned at 5 that day and they said the BCM update was not successful and they needed to order a new BCM or Body Control Module le. It is now june 28th and the part is still on order and I can not drive my car. I had to rent a car for work .They said they do not give loaner cars and it would take 40 to 60 days after the car was finally repaired before I could get reimbursment for the car rental. They should provide a loaner car if it takes more than 4 weeks to repair the car. I will never go back to that Kia dealer for any kind of service. I feel they should have warned me that if the BCM update failed they would have to back order the part before I let do anything. I would have said NO do not do the update!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Executive Summary: As nice as the people are, they're way short on thinking...and follow-through. I had to walk, walk, 5 miles to get my car back. Routine Check/Maintenance. I had an appointment. Other people were at the desk complaining. I should have paid attention. One guy stayed, after cutting loose of a manager. Another woman essentially said Foxtrot Tango November and left. They only have one, ONE, shuttle for both the Ford and KIA sides. When the driver took me home, he kept getting calls. They needed him back for more pick ups and drop-offs. Bad sign. They know, or should have an idea how many appointments they have. Figuring out, in advance, the travel requirements of customers should not be difficult. Changing oil/rotating tires/Cash Wash. It always takes them 2+ hours. What with COVID and the variants, sticking around was stupid. I figured they should be done by noon. So I call them at 2pm. My "Service Manager" was away from his desk. Was told I'd get a call back. You know I didn't. I call back at 3:30 pm. I get my Service Manager. Wonderful! He tells me the car "...[H]as been ready." News to me, but where is my pick up, I ask? "Oh, we don't have a driver available right now." And he had no clue when the driver would return. I jest I said, "Should I start walking now?" "Well, you know..." The joke was on my. 1 Hour, 30 minute walk. DARCARS, do better. Way better. At each step, when I left the service area, in the shuttle, each time I called, I was asked did I need a lift back. Where do I begin with this place? I had an appointment for 2pm on a Monday. Around 12:30, I get a call saying that I need to bring my car in the morning in order to have an electrical diagnostic done. The sentiment was essentially that this can never be done in the afternoon. Why would someone wait until it was so close to my appointment to tell me that? Perhaps if I was notified in the morning I would say I could just come now. Moreover, my mornings are not available. I bought a car that costs over $50,000 and I haven't had it for three months yet. I shouldn't be having issues and if I do, I should be able to have my issues addressed at a time that works for both me and the business. My appointment was well within their business hours. As a matter of fact, I chose the appointment time based on their posted availability. The person on the phone says they will check with the service manager to see if I can still bring my car. He told me the diagnostic takes three hours and they close at five. If I get there at two, that's the perfect amount of time. What's the issue? The employee calls back and says I can come in but there's no guarantee my car will be ready today. Mind you, he calls back an hour later. So when he called, I had to leave immediately in order to be on time. As if this experience wasn't already putting a bad taste in my mouth, it got worse when I got there. Let me reiterate, I have a brand new car that I haven't even had for three months. It is still under full factory warranty. Do you know when I got there, they acted as if I would have to pay $230 per dash light notification? I had three. They essentially made me feel like I could or could not have to pay. The employee at the service counter would not confirm or deny whether I'd have to pay. I decided against having my car serviced with them because at bare minimum they should be able to tell me with certainty if addressing the issue will cost me or not. I will never ever come back to this dealership. Everyone had a bad attitude that gave off the energy that they hated their jobs My mother advised that I was probably having a negative experience because I was at a dealership that serves a more "urban" clientele. I decided to make an appointment at Herson's Kia in Rockville and it was a WORLD of difference. An employee called me the day I requested an appointment and asked about my issues. He then asked me when I would like to come in and I said afternoon. He offered 2pm. The exact same time as my other appointment at this dealership. It was not an issue. I am at the other dealership today and everyone has been perfectly pleasant. It's disappointing that a certain clientele isn't deserving of this same level of service. If you're looking to have your Kia serviced in this area, you're better off going to dealership that doesn't predominately serve black and brown people. read more

I've bought 2 Kias from Kia Lanham-- a 2011 Optima EX and a 2014 Sorento SXL. The cars are great; yet like many Kia dealerships, the buying experience has been a letdown time and time again. This particular dealer has really revamped the actual building and it looks a lot nicer inside than previous years. They have a decent inventory selection as well. The issue with this dealership is 1) not valuing customer loyalty and 2) poor, inconsistent management. I came to buy my 3rd Kia, a fully-loaded Kia Stinger GT2. The sales rep seemed new and very untrained; his e-mails were not very professional (i.e. spelling "which" as "witch"). Every time I asked a question regarding the policy on loaner cars, service times, etc. the only response I received was a generic "Don't worry, we'll take care of you." I know this to not be the case; every time I've brought my Optima and Sorento back here, I've been denied a loaner or any sort of help. When working on the Stinger GT2 sale, I made it plainly clear that if the dealer matched the invoice price, I'd throw in a few more bucks and take the car the very same day. The sales manager on duty at the time told me that he was not interested in making a deal anywhere near invoice price; he instead boasted that the car would sell in just days. Naturally, I got a call back just 2 days later from the sales rep that the management considered my offer and wanted me to come back into the dealership. Conducting business like this is no way to garner more customers or to retain loyal customers making their 3rd purchase. Ultimately, it is a decent place to buy a Kia, but the lack of customer appreciation and the confounding management process knock this dealership off my list. read more

So one of my family members purchased a vehicle from this location and it was the worse. The salesperson was not knowledgeable about the vehicle and it was a rush process. They also did not take the time to show and explain any details about the features in the vehicle. Also, they made them buy options on the vehicle because they said they were mandatory but that was false!! Because I went to another DARCARS and they said the packages were options. Not only that! She went to pick her licenses plates for her car and they couldn't even put them on for her. So please do your research on dealerships before purchasing a vehicle. Spoke to Salesman on the phone about a car before making the trip from Baltimore. He was attentive on the phone and did share that the used car we were interested in had a "small scratch" on the rear door and that they would fix it. He asked us to call Ahead so that the car would be ready. When we arrived the car was not ready. It was in the garage as they were inspecting it! It was listed online as Inspected. The small scratch turned out to be a dent and serious scratches on the rear quarter panel along with peeling paint on the back bumper. He offered an additional 300 dollars off the negotiated price. Shady business that takes advantage of the consumer. This place tries to bait you in by hiding the prices of there new vehicles online... making you jump through a million hoops where they try as hard as they can to not tell you how much they are charging. They had a base model ford maverick eco boost listed on there website with (call for pricing and availability) so I called and I talked to a salesman who told me yes it's available and asked me to come in for a test drive. When I asked about the price he told me it was being sold for MSRP with your typical fees. When I inquired about these "typical" fees he told me it had a $8400 market adjustment fee. Imagine telling someone who lives an hour away that you are selling the car for MSRP and asking them to come in... only to hide the fact that it's marked up by $8400 and hiding that behind a "typical" fee.
