ZERO STARS - Worst experience i ever had. I went on 1/20/2015 I went to Darcars Ford to look at the 2015 Ford Explorer. The salesman was great, but the Finance guy was so rude and disrespectful. He even yelled at my mom who was 74 years old just because i was a little confused with somethings. I am a first time car buyer and i will never buy or even look for a car here EVER. Then when the sales floor manager called he had the nerve to tell me that i would never get financed by any bank or and one because i don't make enough money. I came here for routine maintenance and inspection. Went home then woke up the next morning with a flat tire. They told me I most likely drove over a nail which is definitely possible but it's more likely that that punctured something during the service. I'm convinced they poked a hole in my tire because I had to pay for them to fix it again only 18 hours after I just left. Save yourself the time and money and go to a local trustworthy mechanic. read more

Purchased a vehicle on 22 July 2017 from Sales Associate Armen. Recently purchased a 2017 Ford Mustang from DarCars Ford in Lanham, MD. I was very impressed with two people at this dealership, Armen, the sales associate, and Constantine, one of the managers. Both of these gentlemen were very friendly, informative, and helpful in my decision. I never felt pressured to buy the vehicle. In fact, Armen made it clear to me that he did not want to waste my time, and he certainly kept his word. Even though the original offer was not something I was comfortable with, both Armen and Constantine were quick to adjust the price to something I was comfortable with (fair market price). Armen was very personable, friendly, effiicient, and no funny business. Very straight forward. In fact, I could see him fighting for me with the managers, trying to get the numbers down. I was at another Ford Dealership nearby the previous week and that sales associate just stood around and did nothing. The gentleman in the finance office was also very friendly and quick. Most people dread their time in the finance office, but the gentleman was very professional and efficient, and it seemed to take no time at all. Their facility is currently going through some remodeling, so it's not the best situation for customers or the associates, but I didn't mind at all. Worst car buying experience I have ever had. I'll never buy another vehicle from this dealer. I love my car but the customer service was horrible. I drove 3 hours to get this car and I have been treated like crap ever since. It's been more than one issue, I have several issues with the car it's self that need to be addressed and some how my tags got lost. No problem right? Only I have been fighting this for 2 weeks and my temp tag dies tomorrow! I was also promised 3 free oil changes and 2 tanks of gas since I had to drive 3 hours to the dealer twice. None of those have happened. The managers lie and do not hold true to their word. I'll never go back. Never. read more

Bought a Ford Escape and a F150 truck all on the same day. Also purchased the maintenance package for both. Have had my escape for year.., I wish I was not tied to the maintenance package. The service department is the worse I have ever dealt with! It takes forever to have them pick up phone. I had to stand in front of three service providers for over 10 minutes before being helped...( no other customers where there) Even if you have an oil change it takes all day... Ugh I'm stuck with them till the end of the service contract! read more

I was negotiating with many dealers in my search for a 2015 Kia Optima. My results were narrowing to 2 or 3 when I finally went into Darcars Ford/Kia as they had what seemed like one of the best deals for me. I was emailing back and forth with Christine and Armen and ended up working with Mike when I got there. Everything seemed okay until we starting discussing my trade-in. They offered me a measly $300 for a decent shape 2002 vehicle with 110,000 miles on it and no engine or transmission problems. I was incredibly offended and shocked. I decided to continue the process as he told me I can put a deposit down and change my mind if I find a better deal for my trade. I live in an apartment building with one parking spot so keeping both was not really an option. I put down around $3k as my down payment on a lease with plan to refund if another dealer could match their price and beat them on my trade. I immediately call up a different dealer, who I had also been negotiating with, and explained the situation. They easily agreed to $1000 without even seeing the vehicle and I went with them for everything. Mike called me the next day and I told him I had found someone to beat their deal and decided to go with them instead. I could have listened to their counter offer but decided that they had lost their chance trying to get me to trade for $300. So instead I requested a refund, and they refused to process over the phone, eventually agreeing to take my information but never processed the request. I waited two days before disputing the charge with my credit card company. Each time they called they tried to convince me to change my mind and I flat out told them, you lost your chance by that slap in the face offer. After getting my vehicle from another dealer I learned another little tid bit. Lanham Darcars Ford/Kia tried to charge me $500 for gap insurance for my lease. My other dealer told me that this is included, by law, in all leases in the state of Maryland. Looks like I avoided some scam artists! Would not recommend these guys under any circumstances, as nice as they may seem initially. read more

While we really like our 2019 Kia Sorento, we sure got screwed by the Finance Manager and the General Manager at Darcars Lanham Kia! We traded in a 2016 leased Sorento and bought a new 2019 because we enjoyed it so much. It was also because we were required to buy a new Kia in order to avoid a $400 "fine" as part of the end-of-lease terms (i.e., a disposition fee). However, the very fine print said we had to finance it through Kia Finance. You'd think the Darcars Lanham Kia Finance Manager would be well aware of that requirement! He didn't offer us any options of financing -- just filled out the paperwork for Sun Trust Bank. He said they offered the best rate, but didn't show us any comparisons. We made the mistake of believing him to be knowledgable and having our best interests in mind. We specifically asked about the $400 fee, and they assured us would NOT HAVE TO PAY IT. A few weeks later, we got a $400 bill from Kia Finance! We cannot refinance now through Kia Finance because they don't do refinancing! We called the dealership -- they said they would look into it. We didn't hear back, and called again. A finance employee said "they'd take care of it." Now, the Finance Manager and the General Manager say "there's nothing they can do." We are left with nothing but social media and the Power of 10 to tell 10+ friends, neighbors and potential Darcars Lanham Kia customers to go somewhere else to buy a car! Buyer Beware. It started out as a test drive of a K5. The car had no gas and the fuel light was on. So the test drive was very short. Getting back to the dealership they gave me a quote that I would not even consider. I started to leave and they asked if they could give me an estimate on my car. Even though I wasn't trading it in I was curious. When they came back with the quote I asked for my keys. They told me they had forgotten them next door. It all went down hill from there. I waited 35 mins. Then they walked up not with my keys but with another quote. I told them no. I waited 45 more mins and walked up and asked for my keys. He said he knew where they were. Then started on all the sales pitches. Finally after 20 mins of that, I agreed. They gave me a paper to check credit I filled it out slow getting up multiple times. Let me get to the chase, After 3 1/2 and signing the papers they gave me my keys back, without asking for them. The next day I took the car back and they told me "They did nothing wrong I should have called the cops to get my keys back. HUUUUMMM. read more

AVOID this place and Constantin. My last KIA purchase elsewhere was straightforward and handled in a mature, adult manner and I knew the dealer made profit. If a specific stock number car is listed at say $15k and a potential customer offers $14K (out the door) and that offer is considered a lowball, then just say that price is the issue unlike the running commercial of "72 hours"no deal lost of price promotion". So instead of being upfront and stating a counter offer on the car you are interested in, you will get phone calls from several people who try to steer you toward other cars even if you have no interest in other cars. I think the final straw was after the sales guy finally told me that price was not possible, Constantin had to call right away to basically say the offer was crazy given they have fees and costs that buyers had to pay. Since I do not need a car right away, I had already decided not to do business with them and found the whole process amusing. Seriously, they do not understand that time is money and investing all this time from multiple people blows way past any additional money the can squeeze out of potential buyers. Also Constaintin revealed that their fees are about $2k past the "price" so all the competitors should factor that in on top of the profit margin. Maybe if he lost his temper more he would reveal their whole cost structure while further damaging the dealership or Darcars franchise. I wonder what KIA corporate would think about such an operation. Given the end of the year, media hype on stronger car sales, and all the other dealers out there, do yourself a favor and do your homework so that you already "have all the information you need" and not waste time. I was ready to walk and am glad I did without ever investing my time or much effort. read more

I made an appointment at 1:15 got there on time but soon saw there seemed to be a great deal of construction and a giant tent in the middle of the lot. I hadn't been there in awhile so I was confused about what was going on. There was no one there to direct anyone or any signs to let anyone know where go. As it seems they switched things around. I ended up choosing a random parking space and arrived a couple mins late for my appointment. I wait in the service trailer nobody bothers to greet you there isn't even a "please wait here" sign. A couple comes in after me. One guy finishes and then goes over to the couple who came in after me to help them out. Pretty rude when he obviously saw me come in. I gave him a look and he quickly realized his mistake. Once we were seated he gives me a great deal of attitude our whole interaction. He asked me why I don't have a ticket, tells me he had trouble finding my car completely puts the blame on me for everything he does wrong. One I don't work for Kia nor do I get my car service there so how would I know where to go. Didn't realize I need to be psychic to get my car serviced there. And two you left to go get my car with out even bothering to ask me where it was parked. He left me feeling pretty ill. I haven't had a stranger be that disgusting towards me in awhile. Any way he tells me the repairs to replace my tail light cost 80 dollars and would take two hours. After that I had to leave. Light bulbs cost 5.99 and replacing them takes 30 mins. On top of that when I made my appointment I asked for an authorized inspector who I was told would be there. They weren't. I won't bother to go back. read more

I'd seen the prices on darcar's website but was skeptical they'd be throwing all kinds of exceptions or excuses in - but that wasn't the case at all. We walked through each rebate and item and came to a really great price, a value that made buying a new car totally reasonable for me. We purchased our 2017 Kia Sorento on May 15, 2017 and traded in another Kia. We were overjoyed when we were told by the finance manager (Juan Garcia) that they would be able to pay off our prior trade, even the negative equity! That is the point we should have walked away. Our bank has yet to see a payoff from Darcars For/Lanham Kia. We are now 38 days past due and this has now damaged our credit. I was told because we turned in our pay stub for a rebate a few days late, this would push back the process a week. Well, 38 days later???? I called and spoke with Mr. Garcia on several occasions and he assured me every time my car would be paid off and our credit would not be effected. I have called the customer relations line several times and they were the most helpful. Even DARCARS own customer relations expressed frustration with getting answers from their own staff. I would not remommend this dealership to anyone and unfortunately, I will not go to any other DARCARS dealership. read more

My initial good impression has evaporated since my purchase. I just wanted my tag, not asking for much. As the expiration date for the temporary tag approached, I started calling them. Hard to reach anyone there, and when I did I would get a promise ("we'll overnight you another temporary tag","we'll email you one", "we'll investigate it", etc.) but no action and never even a call back. I talked to my salesman, his assistant, two different people in Finance Dept. Half a dozen fruitless calls, my tag is now expired, and I don't know when I'm getting a tag or even if one has been ordered. Total frustration. read more

I scheduled an appointment for an oil change, new wiper blades and a replacement bulb for a turn signal. I also asked about a transmission issue on my Ford Taurus. I received a call later that day after the transmission had been diagnosed, and was told the total cost of repair would be about $900. I can imagine that the service department regularly have to deal with disgruntled customers being asked to pay more than they planned for repairs, so I just asked for a breakdown of the cost and then gave the go-ahead to proceed with repairs. I was assured that the car would be ready for pickup at 1pm the following day. A few minutes later I got another call from Tim in the service department saying he had given me the wrong information and the actual quote was $1200. I decided to consult with a friend before going ahead, but called back within the hour asking to proceed with repairs. The following morning at 11am, I received a call saying that the message to proceed with repairs had not been communicated to the technical department and that 'someone had dropped the ball.' I needed the car so I decided to postpone the transmission service and collect the car. When I arrived I paid for the oil change, new wiper blades and a replacement bulb. When I got into the car, however, the oil life meter read 7%. So I went in to inquire about that and was assured that someone just forgot both to reset the meter and put the sticker on the window. Once that was fixed I started driving and it soon became apparent that the turn signal bulb was still not working. It turns out they had not replaced it at all. So back I went again, and told Tim that the bulb had not been replaced. He said that on the breakdown I had paid for the labor to replace the bulb, but they didn't have the bulb so I hadn't been charged for parts. I had not been informed of this when I originally paid. So basically I had paid them to do no work! I then had to wait half an hour while the car was brought back into the shop and a new bulb put in the car. I was understandably irritated at this stage, and questioned whether any of the other work had actually been done. I just had to take their word that they had done the oil change. When I went to pay the $2.80 extra for the bulb they had just installed, I was kept waiting for a further fifteen minutes while the cashier attempted to login to the computer - she had forgotten her password. I arrived at the dealership at 12:50 and did not leave until 2:30. There was no consideration of my time, there was a worrying lack of attention to detail, and the communication was very poor. It would perhaps have been apt for the customer service team to offer some kind of discount or rebate as a gesture, because they repeatedly dropped the ball, but nothing was forthcoming other than half-hearted apologies. I am uncertain whether I would trust such an inattentive outfit with any further business. read more

Wonderful people. A woman in the service department, maybe named Candice was extremely nice and helpful. They took my car on very short notice for a power steering recall and put air in all of my tires. Reason for 4 stars- I didn't notice my sticker for an oil change was about a month past due. They did not bring this to my attention, but emailed me the next day telling me my car was due to be serviced. This place is horrific. I came in for a tire change and I was greeted upon arrival which was great then sat for 2 hours without any information, or talking to anyone. I finally got up to ask what was going on and stood in the waiting area in front of 7 employees who all ignored me for 30 minutes. I chose to stand and wait until someone finally acknowledged me. Finally an employee tried to pronounce my name with his coworker and I realized it was me and said hello. I was then greeted with being told it would take 24 hours to get my tire replaced due to a warranty. This would be an acceptable comment except for the fact I had a similar issue a few months ago went to a different ford location and was helped within a few hours. I believe he was trying to get rid of me. If I could give them a 0 I would. Don't waste your time don't go here. I will never come back and honestly I might never purchase a ford again. read more

I was in a bad situation with my previous and needed to get out of it sooner rather than later and was turned away from Alexandria Toyota. I recently had a side mirror damaged and I went to DarCars for the repair. The service department was really helpful and fixed the problem a.s.a.p. The repair took longer than expected due to unseen damage, but DarCars kindly provided me with a shuttle to work and picked me up (when I requested) when the work day was over. The shuttle drivers were kind and professional. When I arrived to pick up my car, it had been washed and vacuumed. read more

The worst customer service department ever experienced. Since I own a Ford F-150 and purchased 2 F-150's here, I always wanted to have my truck serviced by a ford dealer. I purchased the Darcars Protection Plan and Service agreement. The first six years was great they took care of my service needs. The last four years have been horrible, every time I need service on my vehicle I get sick to my stomach knowing that I have to deal with these customer service representatives. They have lied to me on several occasions and have kept my vehicle as long as 3 days for simple repairs. I was in Las Vegas during superbowl weekend and left my vehicle there for 100,000 mile turne up my Service representative gave me a call while I was still in Vegas, letting me know what was going on and to tell me it was going to be $ 900.00+ dollars, fine I just want my vehicle running good. You can imagine my suprise when the invoice was $ 1700.00+ dollars almost double what I had been told.( Thanks Joyce GREAT JOB NOT). In less than a month my turn signals wasn't working, I left my truck at Darcars Ford Service Department Lanham, MD, Three days later and for $600.00+ dollars my turn signals worked, seems like a lot of money for something that should not have failed to begin with. Knowing that they can not be trusted, I once again went in to have my brakes pads replaced and regular service, I arrived at 7am and asked 3 times can you take care of this today, I was assured that yes they could service my vehicle that day. I was willing to bring it back a later day but was told 3 times that it would not be a problem. I went home and since I hadn't heard anything at 4:15pm, I called and asked for the service (not) representive that was suppose to be helping me and had assured me that there was no problem leaving my vehicle, I was told she had not returned from lunch. I got an Uber and went to pick up my vehicle at 4:45pm 10hours later. After waiting for 30 minutes, they finally came out and told me at 5:15 they had not started on my vehicle yet. The asked me to leave it longer. My time is very valuable to me. This was the last time I will ever go to this service center. They did not hesitate selling me the Darcars Protection Plan and The Service Agreement and taking my money. But when It came time to fulfill their end of the agreements the treated me so badly that I finally left never to return. I only wish that I had listened to my friends and went somewhere else long ago. I went to Sheehy Ford in Marlowe Heights this morning and had a wonderful experience, I would rather pay for my service and be treated fairly and like a valued customer, than to continue experience the horrible service that I had been recieving from DArcars Ford in Lanham. I hope you are happy that you sold me a Service Agreement you did not intend to fulfill. I recently purchased a 2020 Kia Telluride at Darcars Lanham Kia in Lanham md., and I am compelled to write this review. BUYERS BEWARE! Marcel the finance manager added in the paperwork an extended warranty and gap insurance with out my acceptance or agreement, he didn't even mention it. He used this crude tactic without my knowledge. I looked over the contract and didn't realize it was on there. After the deal was done and I got home that night I looked the contract again. When I seen he had 3000 for an extended warranty and 850 for gap insurance I was very upset because we didn't talk about an extended warranty or gap insurance. The very next day I went back up there to talk to Marcel but he wasn't there. So I called him the day after and when I told him we didn't discuss these items and I wanted them remove he made it seem like we had a misunderstanding. "There is no misunderstanding u didn't offer me the extended warranty or gap insurance u just put it in there", I said. So he assured me he will take care of it. He told me I should hear from him by the end of the week, i didn't hear from him. So that Tuesday went there to give him the title for my trade and he looked me in my eye and told me again he would handle it. Marcel told me that if I didn't hear from him by Friday to call him fist thing Monday. Of coarse I didn't hear from him ,so I call Monday, he said "glad u called to remind me ill call now", so I told him I was thinking about keeping the extended I asking could he send me some info on what and when it covers so he said ok. Three days later is when he sent it ,by this time I am fed up and just wanted it taken off. So now nearly 3 weeks since the purchase im still in the process of resolving this issue. Please be careful when dealing with Lanham Kia, i don't want him to do to u what he did to me. Every dealership I dealt with when it got to financing they would try to sell u these things not just put it in, in the hopes u would overlook it . I was told that Kia does not specialize in my Honda... they wouldn't even look at my car. They told me to take it to Honda, but Honda charge a $99 diagnostic fee? Ridiculous.
