What a find! The lovely ladies at the library suggested Cumberland Food Company for breakfast. We were impressed! Friendly staff, local ingredients, eco friendly mentality... and the food was delicious! I had the special of the day, Rosemary French Toast. The rosemary butter was amazing!!! I highly recommend it. My daughter had the two egg special with bacon. She says they were the best eggs she's ever had. My ego will survive it I'm sure. This place is worth a stop in. You are sure to be impressed. So I have been going to Dara Bistro, when it was called Cumberland Food Company. The food has always been great from breakfast to lunches and their amazing baked goods (Sourdough Croissants).. So now that they have recently started doing dinner, I have been meaning to try it. My girlfriends and I had arranged to do a dinner out on Sunday night and had booked a different restaurant, when we got there it was closed. Being a Sunday night, there aren't too many restaurants open in the Falmouth area. I thought let me see if Dara Bistro is opened, I called and spoke to Kelsey, the owner and I asked is they had a table, she said they were full, but could try and pull something to together for us. When we got there, it was a short wait, while they were setting up the table. The food and wine was delicious. It is a small menu, which I like, with a good variety. We tried various menu items, the butternut squash salad, the butternut and chestnut soup (both amazing). Then for mains we had the monkfish which was served with vegetables, I had the butternut squash lasagna (spectacular, I hope they keep that on the menu for the fall). My friend had the bistro steak with oxtail ravioli, which she said was amazing. For dessert we shared the apple cake with cinnamon icecream. Do yourself a favor and try their dinner option. In a town with very few restaurant options, the Cumberland Food Company is a very welcome member of the community. Coming here for breakfast with my kids has become a bit of a ritual and now I can't go more than a week or so without it. Pretty much everything I've had there has been great but for some reason I just keep coming back to the pancakes and sausage which are completely delicious. read more

My question is how can this place not be rated a unanimous 5 stars? Maybe it's because people secretly don't want others to know it exists. Everything about this establishment is amazing. From the farmhouse feel with beautiful wood beam ceilings, to the calla lilies placed on each table, to the delicious breakfast we ate, to the wonderful detail that almost all items are compostable, including the "plastic" straws. My wife and I ordered some specials: a goat cheese omelet and bacon egg and cheese sandwich on biscuit. I would have posted pictures of the food but admittedly was too excited to eat it. We tried their made-in-house raspberry jelly and ketchup. So good!!! I guarantee we will be back! read more

Sad. Just sad. $23 for a panini, cup of soup and small salad. Portion size was so small my three year old would have been begging for more. Nothing on the meatloaf panini other then the smallest piece of meatloaf you've ever seen. Maybe a quarter of an inch thick and didn't even fill the width of the bread. Will never be back. It's convenient for me, but that's the only piece of this place I like any more. Sorry. I guess I'll only give so many chances to mess up my orders - not complicated orders; a basic breakfast sandwich, e.g. - or fill up a drink with 50% foam before I just give up. I had similar issues before the ownership change, but they're still there after plenty of chances. There are many things I love about the food here. The salads, the quiche, the soups and the bagels are all wonderful. But my new favorite is the chicken pot pie which is, if possible, better than homemade. Happy to have found this delicious breakfast and lunch spot in Cumberland. What a treat - friendly service and the food was absolutely delicious. I had a simple green salad with goat cheese - the greens were just picked and the dressing was one of the best I've had. I was also fortunate to get the tomatoes from my daughter's sandwich and they were clearly fresh local, summer tomatoes. Ok they have definitely earned my respect. Food has been excellent and we've been here several times over the past few weeks. Ok so my husband and I go frequently to breakfast at the Cumberland Food Co . We go to lunch which is fabulous but mostly breakfast. This morning I had a blueberry bread which was fresh and moist, and they grilled it for me and a side of that wonderful sausage patty and of course a cup of delicious coffee. I have a severe allergy to eggs, and so if I hadn't noticed that the sandwich was not even remotely what I ordered my throats would've swelled, closing and potentially killing me. Stopped here at the suggestion of one of our clients and Cumberland Food Co. lived up to the recommendation and then some. Tried a special called the 'not your grandfather's grilled cheese' or something to that effect and it was by far the best grilled cheese I have ever had. I used to go to this location when it was Doc's and was skeptical to try something new. I have gone in a couple of times just to get a chai, or soy latte. I worked up to a breakfast bar and then decided to try real food. I ordered an omelet: zucchini, tomatoes, and goat cheese and a homemade gluten free english muffin. Holy cow was it good, like amazingly good. The zucchini was crunchy, the goat cheese was creamy, the english muffin didn't even taste like it was gluten free. I am glad I tried it. read more
