The place is nice inside bright and welcoming. They have a good size menu and the crepes smelled good. I ordered the Nantucket red small , they charged me for a large I corrected them no problem . The small was definitely small for $9.00. The beet flavor was very prevalent and sort of took over the whole smoothie. I had expected the other flavored would have been more pronounced. I have had smoothies with beet before and it was a sweeter mix so that was a little disappointing. Nice place but felt expensive for what I got .

There are two sizes that are offered (small and large). The small is 9.00$ without tax when the large is 13$ without tax. Today I spent 9.72$ on a small smoothie that I did end up enjoying but the size of the cup was insane for the price tag they put on it. Below you can see a picture I took representing and comparing the size to my energy drink powder mix. Things I noticed where they don't put the ounces of the drinks on the menu board but only the prices. At the counter they also had no cups out showing the sizes of the drinks. They also display no prices on the online menu, where I first looked, as-well as no ounces of the smoothie drinks. I work for a small business in southern Maine and I just think this is completely unreasonable for sizing. I shop small constantly trying new places and have never spent over 9$ on one drink, or even a SMALL drink and I don't think I want to ever again.

My wife and I decided to venture here to check this location out for the first time. Firstly the parking situation is more ideal here, granted the space is shared with more businesses but parking was a much easier process overall. Once inside I think the direction they went with art/design is superior to the original location and my wife strongly agrees with that more than me. She absolutely loved the flower wall art and the overall vibes here. Enough so that she would prefer to visit this location. The food and drink menu is basically the same so if you have visited the Scarborough location you can know exactly what to expect. Including very similar specials for the month in both food and drinks. We visited to just hit the tail end of the February/Valentines specials for drinks. I got their Red Velvet Cold Brew while my wife got the Cupid Latte (raspberry cheesecake latte with raspberry cold foam). Both were top notch and a great way to end their monthly specials. I do appreciate the fact they offer such a selection of specials to keep you coming back for something new. Food wise my wife got her go-to for Luna Cafe which is the Modern Egg Breakfast Sandwich while I got the Maple Sausage. It had just the right amount of maple on it. We have yet to branch out from their breakfast sandwiches but have always enjoyed them. The only negative I can add for our visit was it did first seem like we would not be ordering as it took a little time before a member of staff came to the counter for us to order. Overall it is a minimal complaint and the staff member was friendly and food/drinks were finished quickly. Glad to have checked it out and will likely return to this one over the original now.

Which brings me to point two: somehow these 16 ounce shakes are only about 230 calories, with 24 grams of protein and relatively low carbs. How is this possible? I'll just assume it's magic and enjoy these delicious shakes. Things to consider though: -The price is ridiculous. After tax it is $7.83 for a shake, plus the screen asks for a tip. So nearly $9 for a protein shake is excessive, even for Falmouth. -There are most likely loads of artificial ingredients to make these taste so good. I don't personally care, but you might. -Surprisingly the calories are not listed on the menu boards for any items. The owner explained the shakes to me, but this is odd. There are protein iced coffees, workout teas and smoothie bowls I'd like to try as well, but for now, I'll be dreaming of my next shake.

There was a family there when I went that was treating this small coffee shop as a daycare, which made my experience even more disappointing. The screams were echoing throughout the cafe, and I ended up sitting outside for peace and fresh air. The outside seating area is nice. Meaning, sometimes the sandwich has enough filling, and sometimes it does not. Sometimes the food is hot, and sometimes it's not. It feels like the service at Roots goes in the same way. Some people working the counter at Roots are super helpful and friendly, and others are not. The price point here is also high. I understand that prepared food is expensive all over the place, but Roots feels like that, plus extra. There is plenty of nice indoor and outdoor seating.

Oola bowls is a chain brand that originated in Pennsylvania with this being the first location in Maine. Despite that, technically their second is already in works and should be opening soon at Monument Square in Portland as well. My wife and I were excited to give it a try as they had finally opened about a week ago. They offer online ordering so you can have your drinks and bowls ready for pickup when you arrive. That's what we did and had zero complaints and even substitutions or any allergies needed to be mentioned is super simple. Loved how easy it was for customization so you can get exactly what you want. We walked into the store and both workers were extremely friendly and welcoming and along with that service both our bowls and the bag had notes from the workers too. While simple little messages to us they were that added little touch that makes customer service great. They do have some tables inside if you want to enjoy your food or drink inside and even looked like they had some games available to play while waiting or enjoying too. Firstly, drink wise my wife got the strawberry matcha lemonade which was great and had a great balance of matcha and lemonade. I had their blueberry ice tea and it was phenomenal as well, would get it again often! Bowl wise we each got a different açaí based bowl. You can see the size difference of their small and large in my photos. We loved our bowls and even would go as far as saying we prefer this spot over another closely located chain bowl spot. All of the ingredients used tasted fresh and were delicious, the granola used was so good and one of my favorite parts was the peanut butter they used. Both food and drink wise we were very impressed and happy with. Check this spot out!

In search of a Sunday coffee my wife and I decided to come in and check the lattes out. Looking at the menu prior to our visit we did consider trying the smoothie bowls but a few reasons deterred us from doing so. The prices for the size you receive didn't seem worth it. The heavy use of almonds and the fact they can't guarantee being almond free made my wife hesitant too. The inside is spacious, welcoming and beautifully designed while remaining simple. I was surprised it wasn't busier considering this! Definitely felt like a spot you could enjoy a smoothie or drink and chat with friends or family for a while or watching the world outside the window. Street parking was easy enough to get right out front. Staff when we ordered were not un-friendly but also not overly friendly. More welcoming and friendly could make for even more memorable and nice experiences. Latte wise my wife got the Cinnamon Bun Latte while I got the Cookies & Cream Latte. Firstly I will say both the lattes we chose come with a housemade whip which is very delicious but much thicker than typical cold foam/latte toppings. They also make the syrups in house which is great and the taste was phenomenal. Both lattes nailed the flavors they were going for with a slight edge given to the cinnamon bun being better. Overall a great spot aesthetically with solid lattes.
