I've been on the hunt for some really good Korean chicken wings after my favorite Korean spot closed down in my area due to covid.... LITERALLLLLY on a mission. I was in town for my doctors appointment and since I'm not from the area I like to try new things, but also craving Korean food. Daon came along my search and of course I had to try it. When walking in the first thing I noticed is of course the chicken wings and how cute and small the place looks. Ok, I'll cut to the chase... we ordered the soy garlic chicken wings but for appetizers. Since I didn't know how good it was I just ordered the appetizers which comes with 6 pieces. Also we ordered the seafood soondubu which is a soft tofu stew with shrimp, clam, mussel and squid. Last but not least, we ordered the pork belly BBQ seasoned with Korean bacon. I use to work at multiple Korean restaurants so I'm super picky with my banchan (sides) and you can tell if the sides are good, then your meal will be good if not better. All the banchan were really well seasoned, so I loved them all. The seafood soup, they didn't skimp out on anything. Most of the time I'll just get only soup and little tofu and seafood, so it was nice to get a spoonful of something in every bite and it's not too salty. The pork bbq was just ok to me and my boyfriend and he usually is a fan of pork bbq. They do serve it with gochujang (correct me if I'm wrong) which is a sauce to dip your meat in. They do give you a lot of meat for what you pay for which is nice! So I have to come back for the bulgogi. Our all time favorite dish was their soy garlic chicken wings! I finally found another place and I'm excited to come back! I can talk about this to everyone, please order their chicken wings and give it a try. The breading was evenly coated, crunchhhhy on the outside, sooo hot and juicy in the inside, perfectly seasoned once again. We moved out of the city during the pandemic, which honestly didn't have great Korean food other than Han all Kwan, then went to the Peninsula, where options were slim too and often drove to South Bay for Korean food. Fast forward moved to Danville, thought our asian food options were shot but lord and behold a friend recommended this place and it's a complete game changer!!! This place actually serves amazing Korean food, better than most places and only second to the best spots in South Bay, I'm so so so happy to have discovered this place!! I thought it was a accident that she hung up. So I called back multiple times, she didn't answer. How hard is it to say it got through already or it didn't get through. Friendly staff, delicious flavors, and great for takeout! I love the sealed/packaged banchan that come with to-go orders; I could probably live off of those alone. Not the fastest, but everything is prepared to order and incredibly satisfying. The soondubu (soft tofu stew) in particular is great comfort food, especially in cold weather. Authentic, yummy, perfect Korean food. We are new to NorCal from the LA area and we were missing our favorite monthly Korean food fix. It's been 9 months of searching and we have finally found THE PLACE! The food was amazing. So flavorful, so comforting, and just YUM! My kids 9 and 13 loved their dishes. 9 year old ordered veggie tofu soup...she devoured it. 13 year old ordered Bibimbap...he devoured it. Husband and I both inhaled our food. We got the seafood pancake and chicken wings as an appetizer and that was devoured too! I am so glad that we stumbled into this place a couple of years ago while searching for a good spicy beef soup. I think they have the best in Bay Area so far. Portion is big and the broth is really rich. We have tried almost everything in their dinner menu as we keep coming back at least once every other month for their food is superb! Some of them are galbijjim, pajeon, mandu, fried chicken, bibimbap, spicy cold noodle, galbi tang. Service is always friendly but food can come a little longer, depending on how busy they are, but you can fill up with the banchan while waiting. I would say come and give it a try when you're in the area. Fyi like other review mentioned that they are right below the gym so don't get bummed with all the loud banging sound. It's a shame that I'm updating my review from 4 stars to 1 star. We came here for dinner the other night and the place was packed. There was only one party ahead of us so I thought okay, it probably won't take too long to get a table. Nope, I was wrong because we never got one. The group in front of us probably waited about 10 minutes before they were seated. The waitress came over, apologized to them for the wait, and took them to the table. She did not acknowledge us at all. I thought she'd come back for us, but she never did. Keep in mind that the restaurant is really small, but the entire time we were waiting by the door, no one came over and asked how many people were in our party nor made eye contact with us. I couldn't even get their attention because they weren't looking over this way. There were 2 waitresses that night. We waited for another 15 minutes and 2 more parties left during this time. Again, no acknowledgment whatsoever and they didn't even bother to clear the tables at all so we left. I don't think I'll ever come back again given this terrible experience. Nice homey Korean restaurant situated in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking. The food was good and as expected, and the side dishes were not too salty (a plus). Only issue would be that the location is small. While we did not encounter any issues with getting a table, I can see it being an issue. We asked to have hot tea, but it appears the server forgot. But overall, servers were nice, and will definitely be back if in the area, albeit the dishes being on the pricier end in the tri-valley. read more

The KFC here is so good. I was a little skeptical with a $29 price for the chicken but I was pleasantly surprised that it came as a generous potion of crispy chicken and spicy sauce. There was a Korean coleslaw on the plate that was also good. We also had the bibimbap in the hot bowl, kimchi stew, and japchae. The bibimbap came with your choice of meat. I mistakenly ordered with the pork belly but I would suggest a different meat. It was a bit dry. All were very tasty and yes, we had lots of leftovers. Great addition to Danville food scene with solid Korean dishes. Service was handled by one person but he was quick and attentive (and the space is pretty small) so they handled it well, very polite and efficient. All the dishes are on the expensive side, but it's Danville, so -- otherwise everything we tried was good. The bulgogi we got was made togo and they serve it will side dishes in super cool sealed containers. My younger daughter who usually doesn't care much for Korean dishes liked their rice cake dish even though it was a bit spicy for her. We also tried the kimchi pancake which was crispy and full of flavor. I liked my seafood tofu soup, it was solid, but not amazing. My wife tried the cold noodle dish which has a unique flavor profile and texture. I always find the noodle kind of hard to eat, but the cold broth is tart with a good rich flavor and some "intrigue" added with mustard sauce. Like a lot of Korean places, my favorite was the side dishes, DAON's were very fresh and flavorful. Ambiance is fine, but the location is a bit weird, you get a lot of sound from the gym that's above the space, where they seem to have a bunch of baby hippos doing workouts. We came here with a large group over the weekend and they were able to accommodate us without any hiccups whatsoever. What made this so impressive was that there was only one person managing the entire restaurant - from hosting, waiting, serving, bussing, and cashiering. The only thing he wasn't doing was cooking the food, and yet the service was exceptional. He was SO kind, even to the many children in our group and so genuinely nice. As for the food, every single dish we ordered was delicious. Most of us were Korean and are used to authentic and delicious Korean food (home cooked or SoCal) so it's hard to find Korean food done right and done well in the Bay. We ordered everything from seafood pancake, 떡만두국, kalbi, spicy pork bbq, kimchi jjigae, seafood dolsot, and Korean fried chicken and it was all delicious and tasted exactly as you would want/expect. A week prior to our visit, my Korean parents went and even my picky Korean mom liked this place! This is probably the highest praise. Thank you so much for a delicious meal! I found this place on Yelp and have ordered takeout from here twice during shelter in place. It's the closest Korean restaurant in the neighborhood and the food is pretty tasty. It certainly beats having to drive all the way down to San Jose/Santa Clara area. I pretty much enjoyed everything I have ordered here so far. My husband is the fan of the seafood pancakes -- me not so much. My favorites are the rice cakes and the tofu soup. I like that you can request the rice cakes to be cooked non-spicy or mild. Sometimes the spice is too much for me to handle to the point that it ruins my tastebuds. Last time I had the "mild" flavor from another Korean restaurant, but it was overbearing and I had to throw that out. Luckily, this place accommodates different spice levels. I also love how they package and separate out the small plates of veggies and kimchee. It's packaged in such a way that it will not spill in the bag while being transported home. My dad is a fan of the Kim chee! Whenever we order, we get a free side of potstickers. I just wish they were vegetarian. Can't complain though because they are on the house! We don't typically eat meat, but one time we tried their fried chicken and we actually preferred it over Bonchon! We didn't have the MSG headache afterwards. We didn't feel sick after eating it. If you like chicken, definitely try their wings out. I am glad that we finally have a legit Korean restaurants here. It's definitely one of our go to places. read more

Spicy chicken was also good , it comes with one cup of rice so you might need to ask for another cup of rice if you're like us haha! My Korean bbq cravings won out and decided to try this newer place based on a friends FB post and used Door Dash. OMG, the food was not only flavorful but the portions were shockingly bountiful. We got take-out from here tonight after a hike, and it hit the spot. The food is really good, and there are so many other dishes I want to try next time based on other Yelper's reviews. We ordered the Galbi-Jim, Galbi Ribs, fried chicken with honey (?) soy sauce. The Galbi-Jim was good, but a bit too sweet for my preference. If you have a sweet tooth, you'll like this savory-sweet dish. My son was also digging for more rice sticks in it, but there weren't many. The Galbi ribs were delicious, and the fried chicken was crispy and tasty. Next time I'll ask for the sauce on the side since my husband will prefer that. They had hand sanitizer by the front door, the guy helping us had a mask on, and they had containers for clean vs used pens. I read some of the other reviews for this restaurant and almost thought they were too good to be true. After giving this place a try, I can confirm it might just be the best Korean restaurant in the Tri-Valley. The food is excellent in quality, flavored perfectly, and well packaged for takeout. To add, portion size is generous. It is common for some Korean restaurants to place their bulgogi and galbi on a thick bed of cabbage or onion. I thought this would be the case, based on the volume of food in my box of bulgogi. There was indeed a layer of cabbage, but it was maybe 0.5cm at most, and I was incredibly impressed by the amount of meat that was given. I also tried the ddok-bokki and the seafood pancake, which were both great. Japchae could have used a little less sugar, but was still pretty good. Overall I'm thrilled that Danville has an authentic Korean restaurant, and will definitely return soon. read more
