Randomly came across this Korean restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and provided quick service. There's a huge parking lot, which makes visiting very convenient. The only downside is that we came on a Friday night, and the restaurant is located right underneath a gym. The loud noise from upstairs made the experience a bit unpleasant but of course, that's not their fault. We ordered the seafood pancake, which was very good, it was crispy on the outside, tender inside, and packed with seafood. It was a large portion, so we ended up taking the rest home. The cold noodles were just okay, nothing particularly special. The banchan, however, was delicious with a nice variety, which made the meal even more enjoyable. Overall, I'd definitely come back to try more dishes. Highly recommend!

Really delicious and authentic Korean food. I sometimes go to the gym next door, and can't help but stop here for a meal after. I was surprised at how nice the dishes are, and the portions are generous. They serve complimentary banchan and refill for you if you ask. It's nice to snack on while you wait for your meal. I tried the Korean chicken wing appetizer to start and two entrees: the stone pot bibimbop & the original Soondubu with beef. The wings are honestly some of the best I've tried.. extra crispy and flavorful. The bibimbop is really delicious as well, and if you get the stone pot version over the regular, you'll get the crispy rice at the bottom which I enjoy. I had never tried a Korean soup, and the soondubu was so hearty and flavorful. It's packed with protein and veggies, and it made me realize what I've been missing out on! Overall a solid dinner spot and I highly recommend!

I had another wonderful dinner last night. This restaurant is a favorite of mine in town and it's definitely one of the best Korean spots in the East Bay. They consistently serve delicious food.

High quality Korean food with huge portions! I was craving Korean food and found Daon on GrubHub, so I didn't eat in restaurant, but my at home experience was stellar. I ordered the soondubu and seafood pancake and was shocked by the portions. I could have easily turned all this food into 3 meals. Daon makes one of the best seafood pancakes I've had in a while. The pancake was so crisp and full of seafood! Each piece had the perfect mix of crisp exterior and chewy inside and it was so delicious. The soondubu was also amazing! Extremely flavorful and delicious. I just could not believe how big the portions were! They have take out figured out perfectly, because they provided the rice and banchan in containers that were sealed on the top to prevent mixing or spillage. I've never seen a restaurant pack their food like this before but it was perfect. I cannot wait to order from Daon again!

After years of having Daon bookmarked, I was excited to finally try. The service stands out the most; family run, and they're very warm and attentive. They genuinely enjoy taking care of their customers, and they wanted to ensure that we were having a great time & constantly checked in on us. The food: The kimchi was just ok- I was surprised by how bland some were. The entrees were also just ok- for the Danville price tag, I probably would skip another visit. There's better Korean food hidden through out the tri valley in less expensive areas. The decor is cute, but the ambiance suffers from being located underneath a gym- it sounded like weights were constantly getting dropped right above you as you ate.

The service and the food were solid. The breading on the korean fried chicken wings is the best I ever had. Beef short ribs were cooked perfectly with a little char. Mmmm Spicy chicken had an amazkng flavor. Rice cakes had a good chew. All in all 8.5/10

Saw this as a suggestion on yelp and loved It! My husband has never tried Korean food so I decided to bring him here for an early lunch. Loved that he explained all the dishes to him and was able to suggest some options based On our preferences. I wanted to try a lil soju but they didn't have shots but they were so cool and brought out a lil bit so I can try. The service was impeccable and can't wait to be back!

What a lovely Korean food spot tucked away in Danville! Great variety of banchan and not salty. We tried the seafood pancake, hot stone bibimbap with kalbi, and beef noodle soup. LOVED the seafood pancake! So full of tender seafood and cooked to perfection - crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside. Kalbi bibimbap also so delicious, the rice crisped so nicely and everything was seasoned just right - not salty at all. The beef noodle soup was also yummy and had lots more veggies than expected! Loved that the bowl stayed hot even after I finished the noodles, meat, & veggies! Will definitely come back!

WOW possibly my new favorite Korean place :0 this was our second time dining here. First time we ordered the bibimbap and soondubu. Both dishes hit the spot. We were especially impressed by the bibimbap. Side dishes might be my favorite thing about this place. Each one is flavored perfectly and they have a great selection! This time we ordered the kimchi stew and chicken wings (soy). Chicken wings were out of this world. We both agreed they were probably the best Korean fried chicken we had. Very juicy and perfectly battered and well seasoned. Service is also extremely friendly. Very kind and attentive even when they are busy. Can't wait to return for another yummy meal.

Great Korean spot located in Danville with delicious food and super nice staff! Super glad to have tried this spot and definitely a place to come back to. It's located in a large plaza with plenty of parking. The restaurant decor is simple and straight forward with a small waiting area. The day we visited the restaurant was a bit understaffed with only one person working to take orders, bring out dishes, clean up tables, etc., so overall the service was slower than usual, but the staff was very nice and apologetic. He kept coming to make sure we were OK and apologizing for the wait, which our group understood completely and didn't mind. They even offered us extra snacks (mandu) and food (fried chicken) because of the wait, which we didn't expect but appreciated. We ordered seafood pancake, spicy BBQ pork, and galbi-jjim between a party of 3, and it was more than enough food for all of us. I really liked the seafood pancake which was crispy and flavorful, with a decent amount of seafood (vs. batter). The galbi-jjim was also very good, with the meat super tender and flavorful and the rice cake cooked to just the right texture. Overall, I had a great dining experience here and would definitely come back again!

A small spot in a large plaza with plenty of parking. It's a bit hidden so be on the lookout. There's a decent amount of seating with TVs. The service was ok. I came about 30 mins before they close for the afternoon and had to wait to be seated even though there was only one other table. Kimchi stew - 5/5 - very delicious and flavorful, the perfect amount of spice. The banchans were a good variety and delicious as well.

Spicy cold noodle. The noodle is nice and chewy.

Randomly came across this restaurant and what a pleasant surprise, the place was clean, the server was kind, could tell he really cared about the service. Most importantly the food was really good, authentic. We got stone pot bibimbap with spicy pork and the cold noodle and killed everything. The side dishes were yum too.

As I opened the strong door, the decor initially caught my eye walking in. It's modern with a hint of a biophillic design. I came in around 5PM so the sunlight didn't capture much of the beauty of the decor, but i'm sure coming in lunch time captures it more. Nara, the kind waitress, told me to sit anywhere I like. She's attentive, answered any questions I had, and informed be on certain dishes the whole time I stayed. I decided to get the Shrimp Mandoo as my appetizer and the mini Bulgogi with a Banana Milk. The Shrimp Mandoo was good, but nothing to really rave about. It's the only Mandoo that can only be pan-fried, but the crunch was fun! The banchan was varied. The kimchi is more on the sour/bitter side, so sorry to the sweet kimchi fans. As a solo diner I was particularly worried about the food proportions for the mini Bulgogi. I have a hearty appetite but even I have limits. The proportions were actually perfect and if you're a fan of lettuce, the Bulgogi comes with so much. I throughly enjoyed the savory Bulgogi! The dolsot bibimbap was pretty good as usual, but the squid rings were a complete disaster. They actually packaged away completely burned and charred squid rings to go! What a dumb way to completely lose credibility with their customers. Cheap tactics such as these where the business is trying to save $15 (cost of the crunchy squid rings) at the expense of losing a customer is atrociously brain-dead. Why don't they understand something this fundamental given that they are in the hospitality business? On your take-out meals, my recommendation is to open the sealed package and inspect the food that you are bringing home. They could be packaging junk because the customer is not looking. Better yet, eat at the restaurant. I bet they would never serve garbage such as this in plain sight.
