Spicy Tom Kha Soup

on a day like today coconut soup is the perfect thing to fight the cold. huge portions, tons of chicken, maybe too much lemon grass, but otherwise delicious. love the atmosphere of the restaurant too. you can eat at a table of the more traditional floor style. def will be back

I was so excited to find out this Thai place was walking distance from my hotel during a recent work trip. My friend and I actually went here two nights during our trip because it was so good. We had no issue getting seated and the service was quick. Both times our server was great. I wound up getting the pad Thai both times. It was delicious and a nice large portion! My friend got the cashew chicken one night and the beef and broccoli the second time and both times he really enjoyed them. New favorite Thai place for when I'm back in town!

Been going here since 1997! Restaurants that stay open this long are obviously doing something right. The employees are super nice. The food is served fast and they have always accommodated my complex orders. They also have a rewards program for free appetizers.

Spicy Thai Basil, Bamee Noodle, Crab Rangoon, Vietnamese Spring Rolls

I have ordered several meals through MealPal: Pad Thai, Pad See Eiw with Chicken. Pad Thai has been consistently good, Pad See Eiw needs a bit of umph (I usually add more soy sauce & hot sauce to it). Today, my coworker and I decided to treat ourselves and dine in. Service was pretty quick, and the ambiance was nice. I didn't try my coworker's Bamee Noodles (which she added BBQ Pork & soup), so I can only speak for my lunch. The lunch special was decently priced ($14.99 with extra fees for different choice of meat). My spicy basil was salty and my crab rangoons were burnt. It was a bit disappointing, especially since the filling was very good. If they cut back on the salt and focus on the flavor, it would be really good. A minute less on the crab Rangoons, it would have been perfect. Four stars, however, because our take-out was pretty consistent.

Massaman beef.

First, this place is dog-friendly. You may sit outside and it is perfect if you have a furry friend to tag along. Second, the service is excellent. Food order to food on table is under 20 minutes. Third, the food is excellent as well. Ordered the massaman beef. Very tender and this is the first time I've seen an execution with pineapple -- perfect to cut the richness beef! Last but not least: halal beef and chicken. Not that it matters to me personally, but that opens the door to many more customers. Perfect meal for a chill summer evening. Thank you, Dao!

We had a hard time looking for a place to eat at for lunch during Christmas as only a few restaurants were open and thank God this place served authentic, flavorful and enjoyable thai cuisine. The place was big enough and had a lot of tables but only 2 servers were there during the time we dined so it was a bit slow. The food was amazing! Everything we ordered was good and the portions were good for sharing. I definitely recommend trying this place. What we ordered: -appetizer: fried tofu, satay chicken, dao platter, chicken wings -noodles: Pad Woon Sen and Singapore Noodles -entrees: chicken red curry and salmon curry

Sticky rice with custard

This restaurant was very tasty. I'm in town for business and a fellow coworker recommended it to me. I wasn't super hungry but I did see they had mango sticky rice on the menu, which I love. When I arrived, I asked about it, but unfortunately they mostly have mangoes on the weekends, the server said to come back Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. They did have sticky rice with custard which I ordered, and it's more of like a cake than a custard, but it was still delicious. I didn't want to get a big entree but I did get an order of the chicken satay, with peanut sauce and a cucumber salad, and the peanut sauce was also delicious. It was a little bit spicy but I tend to be a wimp with spice so for most people it might not be spicy. Be aware of this is located at 230 East Ohio Street and if you're coming from the West side of the street, you'll see an apartment building with the same number... Keep on walking and you'll find the restaurant. I would definitely come back here again when in town, looked like they did a good takeout business as well.

Musamman Curry with Tofu

I'd say this place is more like 3.5/5. I recently ordered Massaman Curry with Tofu for dinner. I felt the gravy was a bit thick and the rice quantity wasn't enough. Also, I expected them to at least add a few more veggies rather than just onions and potatoes. I've dined with them in-person as well in the past, and the ambiance is just like any other regular Thai restaurant. The taste is good and hence I keep going back to it but the quality can be slightly better and they can make a couple of improvements in terms of service.

Walked in here on a whim on a Friday night because we could see it from our hotel. This was the best Thai I've ever had. Upon walking in it looked pretty packed but no wait time at all. I automatically thought i was in "Along Came Polly" when i saw the seating except we weren't sitting Indian style. We were greeted shortly after sitting and automatically ordered the sampler which we couldn't of got through any faster. I didnt even get a dumpling they went so fast between us. Only gave a 4/5 because they brought chicken instead of shrimp and my friends hating the soup. Walked here from my hotel so not too sure about the parking situation. Overall a great experience and would come back

Singapore Sling And Pad Thai

Certainly there's a whole lot of Thai restaurants around here. Dao Thai is another one. It has an intimate indoor dining area and a nice patio. Good place for a casual lunch. This place gets packed and busy later which means longer waits, so I find lunch here is the best time. A lot of good stuff is on the menu for both carnivores and plant based. It has many to choose from. There's many dishes that can be made vegan. Also there's cocktails. We got a few, including a Singapore Sling. It's about $9 for the cheapest cocktails. That's a pretty good price around here. It's about $12 for entrees. These have noodles or rice. Also you choose the protein. We had Pad See Ew, and Pad Thai. Most of these typically come with eggs. These are vegan without, and if you get tofu. Good and filling. The noodles actually had flavor, and weren't overcooked like at many places where they're actually crunchy and like a big glob. Good for those looking for some cheap Asian. It has many great vegan choices. The prices are very reasonable for how much you get, and you get quite a lot.

There are window views from the restaurant, making for good people watching. Mainly metered parking available Medium to large sized place with dedicated sections for thai food (about 8 tables and 2 rows of bar style seats) vs for sushi and ramen but all under the same place/owner, can order from any menu - the decor on that side is super cute, fish cutouts, anime/manga decorated walls, decked out bars Got the scuba diving chicken from the chefs faves and must say it was pretty good - a bit on the greasier side but the aroma of the herbs and the spices from the curry really pull through, chicken is cooked very well, super tender and juicy. I got the "No turning back" spice level and theres a hefty kick - halfway into the dish my mouth def feels it but nothing too extreme (FYI theres a slight mala-like numbingness to it) The traditional papaya salad was crunchy and refreshing, sauce is tangy but not too overwhelming. The peanuts add a nice nutty element to it. There were hardly any dried shrimp, so wouldve like to see a bit more of that. Be sure to give it a good mix as the sauce and topping fall to bottom of the bowl To top it off, the service was great. Albert was really attentive and helpful - would come back if im in the gold coast area again to try the other menu offerings

Seating was a little tight like at Phodega, but not terrible. To view menu, you scan a QR code at the table. My husband & I ordered the following: - Grilled Squid This was really good! I thought it was going to come out like little calamari rings, but it was actually a decently sized whole squid, sliced with the tentacles on the side. It was cooked perfectly as it was not chewy or rubbery. The flavor was great, especially with the paired Thai-spicy seafood sauce. - Crab Meat Fried Rice Loved that this was with real crab! & not the imitation crab. There were bits of crab meat throughout the rice and then topped with a big lump of crab meat. It came served with a lime & yummy fish sauce with fresh Thai chili's. - Bamee Noodles with BBQ Pork without broth This bowl of egg noodles had a slightly sweet flavor to it, served with a fox amount of BBQ Pork which was also nice & tender! Slurped it all up! - Jina's Fried Chicken This was good, but not anything like out of this world. It was fried chicken leg quarter, served with black sticky rice. - Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango LOVED this! It was a great way to end our meal! I loved that it came with extra sweet sauce! - Taro Tapioca in Coconut Milk Cream This was great too! It was actually a warm dessert. The menu described it as "Tapioca pearls" so I was expecting the tiny little clear boba balls, but it was cubes of like glutinous rice. Which was not bad! I liked it a lot; it reminded me of Ginataang Bilo Bilo (#iykyk if you're Filipino)! Overall, a delicious experience! We would eat here again!
