Not cheap but worth every penny. High quality work and play gear. Very attentive staff that were friendly as well. It's like a serious version of REI. Well done

Total power house . I went to get work shoes left with slippers I always wanted and got to tour the airport factory store where they make repairs.

Nice boots and shoes, .mostly crafted here in PDX. Prices can be steep, so cruise by for one offs, factory defects like a minor scratch can save you $100.

Dear Danner Boots, where have you been all my life? Ok, I know, Portland Oregon. It's been years since I've had a really great pair of hiking boots. Now, I still have my Vasque Hiker II mountaineering boots, over 40 years old and going strong, great for climbing but not the most comfortable choice for long hikes. I've just grown tired of getting a pair of boots broken in to the point of being comfortable, and within a year the glue fails and they're falling apart. Now, this never happens at a good time, usually miles away from camp and on the trail. Thank goodness for duct tape! I've had that happen to me with Columbia boots (covered under warranty) and the latest casualty a pair of two week used Timberlands (returned to Timberland, waiting to see what they will do about the warranty). I made a pledge to myself, no more glued boots! My old and trusted Vasque's were made the old fashioned way, stitched-down (Norwegian-welted) with Vibram soles. Sadly Vasque boots are no longer made that way. Internet research led me to Danner Boots, made in the U.S.A. that reviews say about the Mountain Light II, "Is the most comfortable boot I've tested........keeps getting more comfortable the longer I use it". This was one of many reviews that said the same thing. They even make boots for the USMC! To top it off, Danner offers factory boot reconditioning. Wear out the soles, just like the Bionic Man, they will rebuild them....even better than new, because they're yours and already broken in. Now buying a USA made quality pair of boots doesn't come cheap, the price for admission is $380.00. However I feel my feet are worth it. I'm looking forward to hiking many miles

My family and I stopped here on our drive back home to SF from Seattle. My husband has been using Danner for years since his Army and law enforcement days, but we've never visited a store. He swears by the quality and I can tell by the sheer amount of Danner boots he has lined up in our bedroom (sigh). This place is huge. There is something for everyone here. We got some boots for our daughter who will be training with them (competitive shooting). I got a pair of Rainbow brand flip flops for my island girl feet in need of something long lasting. Of course the hub got another pair of boots and also some great quality socks. Everything was either already knocked off in price or on sale (25% off for Fathers Day). Staff was super helpful and friendly. Between my husband, daughter, and me, we had contact with several staff. When we first got there, I waited outside with our little Pom (see photo), but someone came over and said it was okay to bring him in. (For the record, I held him because I worry he'll mark in the store!) Anyway... I'd say more it there's no need. See my photos for visual description!

Before and After. New Danner Patrol on the left and 15 year old Acadias on the right. I think I got my money's worth.

If you need a good pair of boots do yourself a favor and take a good look at Danner. They are the best boots I have ever owned. I have never been one of those people who understood spending a fortune on shoes. For years I would buy a pair of boots that cost between $50-100 and they would work ok for around a year at most. By that point they'd be torn to shreds and I'd repeat the cycle. I tried pretty much every brand from High-tec to Bates and everything in between. They all had glued on soles and were primarily fake leather and nylon. That all changed one year when a co-worker told me about Danner. My feet have never been the same. Danner boots are made in america, by hand, and feature soles stitched to the real leather upper. What does that mean for the user? These boots are tough as nails and will take any abuse you can dish out. My first pair were the all leather Acadias. Those boots took forever to break in, but once broken in, they were unstoppable. I put those boots through absolute hell. My pair of Acadias made it though mud, muck, swamp, multiple hurricanes including Katrina, several hundred thousand miles of driving, abandoned lots, abandoned houses, and so much more. I finally retired them when it was time to start wearing shiny dress shoes daily. Fast forward a few years and it was time to lace up the boots again. My Danners were back on my feet and still more comfortable than any other pair of work shoe I've ever owned. The insoles finally were worn completely smooth and it was time for a new pair. I picked the lower top Danner Patrol and while they cost around $350, this is the best money I have ever spent. This pair of boots is even more comfortable than my Acadias and has seen more mud and muck than a shoe every should. It not only laughs at the abuse, it takes a nice shine as soon as I hose them off. So did I toss my old Acadias in the garbage? Hell no! Would you do that to an old friend? I plan on having those boots refracted so that I can wear those when the crap gets too deep for my Patrols. There is no better boot than a USA made Danner. If you get a pair you will know what I'm talking about.

So I gotta say, when my husband told me we were going to be making a stop at the Danner Boots factory store in Portland I had no idea what I was in for, or just how cool it would be! Every inch of the space had something interesting to see. They carried a few other brands as well, from yeti coolers to Pendleton blankets, and a few others. My favorite part of the store was their terrain testing area! I wish every shoe store had this. Inclines, stairs, and 5 different footings. It's genius. My husband has worn their work boots for years and has recently turned my Dad on to their work line. Though he has been wearing their hunting boots for decades. And for those looking for an active boot a friend of mine has been raving about their hiking boots and shoes. They are also dog friendly which is always a plus for us while we travel with the pups.

Because I had purchased two pairs of shoes from them recently, I had ~$20 in dividends to spend. So when I was near this downtown location, I stopped in to see what I could get. While of course this is a way to get you back into the store to spend money, there was no pressure of what to buy. Staff was super helpful in pointing me to items that would be fully under the dividend amount and therefore totally free. For the amount I had, this was primarily socks or sunglasses. I happily walked out with a new pair of shades! This is a nice perk and just another reason to support your local running store.

Morgan "Run-Shoe-Pro" gave me the lowdown on run, walk and train options. He was really easy-going, friendly and quite knowledgeable about every shoe on the shelf. Impressive! I came to try Topo Magnifly 5 with 0 mm drop. I walk 5 miles daily around Portland on concrete so I want a shoe that's easy on old creaky senior knee joints. Through the years I've worn Altra (also available here) the past decade. Topo and Altra have similar wide toe boxes. Topo fits a little bit snugger in the heel, which I like. I bought the Topo. Walked around the store with 1 Altra and 1 Topo on for comparison. Altra or Topo, either way, healthy feet are vital to your mobility and fitness. Do you want a natural shape to fit the foot better and provide the best posture for running, walking or hiking? What I think - do you Go By Foot around PDX? Yup ya say! Well, gonna be lots of peeps foot traffic around Stumptown. Do you want cool comfy looking street shoes? That support your walking mobility? This location is incredibly convenient, with everything I need within walking distance. The prices are reasonable, and it's not as large as the Nike company store. One of the things I appreciate most about this store is that it carries some items that I can't find at other locations. Overall, I find it a decent place to shop for Nike gear. The store wasn't overwhelming due to the sheer volume of products, and the customer service was exceptional. The store wasn't overly crowded, which made it a pleasant shopping experience. In addition to Nike gear, the store also has a good selection of running shoes. However, I did notice that a lot of the shirts I purchased ran two times smaller than what I'm used to. For instance, I usually purchase a medium, but a medium felt like an extra large, so I would have to go with a small, and even that felt a little large. So, be mindful of that when visiting this location. I think this is a pretty good Nike location. I haven't had the opportunity to compare it with other Nike stores in Portland, other than Beaverton, but I was satisfied with my purchases and the overall experience at this store.

The prices are in the high side, especially for Portland, but a cashmere cardigan for $400 is the going rate. The boutique is bright, clean and has an industrial vibe. It's easy to browse through the racks of clothing which line the parameter on racks in a color coordinated fashion. The cashmere dresses are scrumptious! Beautiful in color, texture and style; refined elegance, classic, timeless. Even cashmere loungewear, perfect for staying comfy and warm during these long days spent at home. Kayla, the young woman working that day, was super helpful and pleasant. She easily engages in conversation and provides assistance, if that is your mode of shopping. And also gives one the freedom to browse at their leisure with no pressure to purchase, which is my preference. We visited on MLK Day and were there specifically to see what Oliveve handbags were available since I had recently come across this brand while shopping at the House of Lolo in Palm Desert. Kayla immediately recognized my Jasper bag! The Oliveve bags have a modern design, clean lines, and my bag is made of neutral colored pebbled leather. It's the perfect bag to use while shopping as it is a cross body style yet as large as a tote and holds a lot. That day there was only one Olivevebag available, a black handbag with tan wrapped handles, and my friend immediately claimed it! I'll have to go online (Oliveve.com) to buy my next one, the black oiled Italian leather Eva bag, which I've had my eye on for a few months. In addition to the clothing, they have a small selection of unique jewelry and other accessories like boots, tassels to add to your handbags, hats, belts and scarves. Even a small but unique selection of home decor items like textured throws, pillows, candles, woven baskets and trays, perfume and vases.p to adorn your home. Located on NW 11th in The Pearl District, it's around the corner from the main shopping area so unless you know it's there, you may not stumble upon it. It's worth seeking out if you want to add quality clothing to your wardrobe that you can wear season after season. And while you are there, definitely check out the jewelry, boots and the Oliveve handbags!

Maybe I am just not hip with the times and people really do spend that kind of money on a random coat, if so, I beg your pardon. It would be cool if your shop had goods that "normal" people like me, I know I am throwing the term normal around quite loosely but folks probably get my gist.
