I stopped in to refresh my shoes. All black in my shoe is not in their current colorways. Oddly they have a dark navy blue which only shows as blue in bright sunlight. The big news is that Arc'teryx has now moved their shoe design team to NW Portland. For all the general gloom and doom online and in the media, Portland's got game! When I bought this rain jacket/rain pant combo (Alpha SL) in 2013, I was told it had a lifetime guarantee and if for any reason it ever failed, it would be replaced. The jacket failed some time back and started leaking water, they replaced it without question and I was really impressed. Now the pants are failing and I sent them in for repair or replacement, they said they couldn't fix them, the product has a "limited warranty", and they would offer me $89 to compensate me for a product that cost me over $350. It seems Arc'Teryx is trying to amend that original guarantee and is now not living up to the promise or standing by its products anymore. Must have happened when the Chinese bought them in 2019. I am extremely disappointed to find out the original guarantee I was given was not worth the paper it was written on. I even quizzed the salesperson with different scenarios of this product being damaged and/or failing, to all of it they responded, "we would replace it". The only reason I bought this overly priced garment was the lifetime guarantee, which apparently meant nothing. They are simply being untruthful and not standing by their product. I'll never buy Arc'teryx again. Here in Portland Oregon we have lots to choose from, including Columbia Sportwear Mountain Hardware brand rain gear which might be a far better choice for the quality minded outdoors enthusiast. read more

Picked up a pair of the new Sylan Shoes from Kyle at the Arc'teryx location on 23rd today. I was impressed by their displays and presentation. They didn't have my size in the black color but Kyle showed all colors available in my size and was very patient answering product knowledge questions I had. Was super happy with his help, and I need to l come back soon to buy more Veilance!!! read more

I've never felt the need to review a clothing store before, but the experience I had with Alex was too good to not. I had come to check out their down jackets, and Alex came up to me to see if I needed any help or had questions. After bombarding him with questions, I was impressed with how knowledgable he was with the care, repair, warmth and options of down jackets. Arc'teryx is pricier than Columbia/The North Face brands for sure, but the quality and customer service is there and worth it if it's within your budget. They have a good selection in this store, but there is a little more online, which Alex also recommended I check out. read more

I have been a fan of Arcteryx for a long time. I have bought most my things online from their website but since I moved to Portland I have been wanting to visit a location in person. The staff was very helpful and not pushy. I was able to get the backpack I had wanted and was pleasantly surprised by their sale section and picked up a few more things for a great price. Love the neighborhood and location. The store had a very nice boutique feel that was split into three sections; women's, men's, and veilance. Can't wait to go back! read more

I had a really solid experience here. I visited the store on a weekday afternoon to check out a jacket for warmer ski days and possibly back country ski touring. The store was not very busy. I was greeted immediately by Todd, a friendly and knowledgeable guy who helped me find the specific item I was looking for and a few other options for consideration. Todd was consistently helpful without being clingy. Not only did he seem quite knowledgeable about the gear, which I had recently researched to some extent, but he also offered helpful guidance on the activities for which the garments were designed. That's something a true gear head can respect. I didn't explore the full layout of the store, but the space looked very clean and presented well. The companies White Line (ski gear) was very well stocked. They had all the colors and sizes I was looking for. Obviously, Arc'teryx gear is expensive, but they make some of the best stuff in the industry. If you can fork out the cash, this is a great place to shop. read more

I have been a customer over several years. But only recently I realized that Portland Arcteryx store misleads their customers. They don't mark items in their stock as factory outlet ones. Those items are present on the shelves and racks among regular items making it impossible to discern what is a factory sample, wearhouse outlet, and what is a standard quality item. The store staff won't advise either. The prices look like regular priced items. There's nothing wrong about selling samples or other garments that didn't pass Arcteryx quality control, but many other similar companies in the area do make their customers aware of the differences in their stocks. read more

I was walking down NW 23rd a couple weeks ago and saw Arc'teryx opened and had to stop in. The store is absolutely gorgeous! Just wanted to check out the store and thanks to a friendly guy with gauged ears named Tony I left with a new top of the line jacket! Tony and his blonde female coworker (whose name i didn't get) were very helpful and pretty funny, they treated me like a regular customer and never left a question unanswered. I got to try on a couple jackets (in a very cool unique changing room) which all fit perfect and looked great! The only complaints I could come up with is there is no sales rack or anything on sale... ever, they dont carry products from the LEAF line or the Stingray jacket. The store looked great, the associates were amazing, the jackets are obviously spectacular, they were giving neighborhood dogs treats as i was leaving.. Its just a great store! Thanks! read more

(Which they did not) I walked in and wasn't necessarily greeted but stared at by three people all standing behind the counter. While I'm a huge fan of Arc'teryx products, along with their quality, and their online customer service, I've definitely not a fan of their brick and mortar store, at least their Portland store. Summary: Sales associates didn't seem to care to help customers and didn't know what they were really talking about which is terrible for a person that represents the company. Pros: Great selection of Arc'teryx outerwear. From the mainline, they'll probably have anything you ever want. Cons: Don't have a wide selection from their Veilance collection. The perhaps worse part was their customer service. I came in and was looking around, and out of their 4 sales associates, not one of them came to help me. It wasn't until I directly came up to one of them, that they started to talk to me. After talking to him for a while, I've concluded they hire pretty much anyone. I inquired about their Veilance collection, and the sales associate didn't seem to know anything about it. On top of that when I asked about a specific piece (Node IS) they tried to correct me and tell me it was from the spring collection, when clearly such a thick jacket is from their Fall Collection. If I could give less than one star I would! The quality of gear is good but it is their customer service that is horrible! Better off going to Northface! If you pop the tags off- you can not exchange or return even if you have receipt- never worn or if there is defect! Horrible! I had a defect in my Northface gear- 5 years after purchase- they replaced it without receipt! I tried to exchange Arcteryx gear after just a 1 week of owning, wore it one time and did not like the feel of it- I tried to exchange it for another item and it was no go! I Had receipt and tags but not on the gear! So frustrating. 30% mark up from other equal brands- is it worth it? This company will not make it in the long run- if they don't change there policies. I will personally never buy the gear again- even though it's good quality - because of there poor customer service. They need to get over themselves! read more

Great service, and products to match. Recently, I bought a backpack from the Portland store, and unfortunately left it at a store two doors down from them. The staff at the store where I left the backpack cared enough to let the people at Arcteryx know I had left it behind. The General Manager from Arcteryx called me to let me know that they were aware I had left it, and offered to send it to me. What I found to be most interesting was that I hadn't left any kind of contact information behind, and from what I can tell, the GM and his staff went to great lengths to track me down at my office. Impressive!! This may seem simple, but in today's day and age... This is rare! I can't thank you guys enough! read more
