Online clothing puchase advice:…read more I own several Portland Gear bags, but use caution when purchasing their clothing online. Think about trying to find it in the store to try it on. They are not friendly about returns. I'm sure it makes sense on the accounting side, but between shipping and returning 2 t-shirts, I'm almost $20 out-of-pocket. I rushed things and didn't take the time to go into the store because I was leaving for a trip. But they didn't ship in time for the trip and when I got back and tried them on the t-shirts were cut in a way that almost looked like mock turtlenecks. I guess the 80s are back. So leaving this here for others in case they think Portland Gear uses the same ecommerce return policies as others. If you don't like your purchase, be prepared to recoup only some of your cost.

Everything feels so wonderful against your skin and to the touch. Many of their products are designed by members of the Standing Rock Lakota and Dakota Nation. I fell in love with the soft, organic cotton blankets by Doug Good Feather. The designs were clearly American Indian, and the colors are so soft, like the colors of a desert sunset. Even though I own dozens of throw blankets, I may need to get one! Faherty is located in the previous Francesca's space. The shop is bright and spacious. And the clothing is an upgrade! While Francesca's targeted teens and young adults with fashion of the moment at affordable prices, the quality matched. Faherty has both men's and women's quality clothing in classics that you can wear year after year. Worth the investment, but here, the prices are very affordable. For the guys, really handsome long sleeve shirts in various checks and plaids, solids in shades of blue, brown, tan, gray and white. Some flannels, jeans, sweaters, cargo pants, shorts - a great selection. For the women there are dresses in various lengths, tops in a variety of sleeve lengths for layering, sweaters, long cardigans and jackets. Going to See Eyewear this week, I discovered several new shops on this part of NW 23rd. Places that I will definitely visit again, probably the day I go back to pick up my glasses!

I will say the store layout was a bit interesting, with some areas that felt more cramped. It was fairly crowded when we went, so I did have to squeeze by people to make my way through the store. I spent some time browsing the clothing section and found several items that caught my eye. The clearance section was a bit disorganized and the sizes were not labeled clearly unfortunately. Customer service at Muji was friendly and adequate. The staff working in the fitting room area were especially helpful. It would've been great to have more fitting rooms available, as the line moved slowly and took up a good chunk of time. You are also limited to bringing in 5 items at a time but you can swap out items as needed. I ended up purchasing multiple tops and a few pants for everyday wear. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to browse the homewares section but was pretty satisfied with my clothing purchases and shopping experience. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
