Is it a clothing shop? Is it an accessory boutique? Is it a museum? After wandering through this place a couple of times, I'm convinced it's all of the above. The charming displays of Japanese curios, textiles, clothing and assorted vintage items are all impeccably arranged so as you wander through the crowded space you're never quite sure what's for sale and what's not, but the place is full-on magical. It's visually chaotic but somehow serene at once, with incense wafting through the air as you turn corner after corner, only to discover a completely new arrangement of colorful items. They are apparently a lifestyle brand, and seems like they specialize in upcycled handmade clothing, (among other things). Bearing that in mind, prices can be pretty steep, but given the care and curation of the store itself I'd imagine the goods are likewise well crafted I've never bought anything here, but I will definitely come back to Kiriko just to experience its one-of a-kind vibe again

Leather patch has bled and stained the denim

Beware of the care instructions, I bought these jeans about a month ago (https://kirikomade.com/products/kiriko-original-denim-jeans-custom-dyed-premium-selvedge-yellow-nami?variant=43693731184802), they were washed twice per the care instructions and the stain they use for their leather patches has bled out over the denim, staining it permanently. Customer service just said "we have never heard of that happening with our jeans before" which doesn't inspire hope that things will change, but I do hope they replace the care labels on their products, it certainly isn't fair to customers to state that they're suitable for cold wash/ tumble dry low.

A beautifully curated shop that I absolutely enjoy visiting every time I am in downtown Portland. Aside from their upcycled textiles, they have a wonderful selection of Buddhist statuary which are very reasonably priced given the detail. I was on a time crunch last time I visited, but I would have liked to spend more time browsing their ceramics and hand towels.

I'm fashion nooby but this shop is so damn cute! We randomly ran into this while strolling arojnd downtown and it immediately caught our eyes. Lots of outfits with heavy Japanese influences with unique twists. They have an interesting collection of denim jackets in the back of the store, where they take brand name jackets (e.x. Lee) and add patches with Japanese patterns. The shop assistants were attentive and friendly.

Enjoyed this Japanese boutique shop in Portland. The displayed items were beautiful, and it was interesting getting to see the different fabrics being used. A gem in the city!

Momo patched my boring denim jacket to be a one of a kind masterpiece!

I have never seen anything like it and genuinely, if your are like me and like to keep a pear, a few apples and an orange on hand but want them to last - this is not only amazing looking but perfect!! I did purchase a few smaller items. The first was a felt coaster which is so perfect! They have an array of different colors - my choice was a gorgeous burgundy and I loved being able to buy just one. I have coasters for guests which is a whole set but for my daily iced drink covered in condensation, this is so perfect. The card says they are made in Germany by a company called Parkhaus and how to care for and clean the coaster. The other item was a greeting card which I intend to frame. Vancouver Washington artist Claudia Moore makes the cards with foraged leaves and seeds. This is a great spot if you are looking for something unique as a gift or for your home. They also have some very nice cleaning solutions and bath products. There is a well thought, small selection of purses and bags.

Clothing is high quality and so expect the price tag to reflect that. They also sell accessories like affordable jewelry from local artisans, unique scarves, shoes/boots/sandals and even an assortment of wonderful hand reams and candles that smell so good! The other day I had to buy a pitchuli scented candle because it reminded me of my youth! Like any store, some of the clothing works for me and some doesn't. We all have to know our own bodies and what fits best. What I like about adorn most is that they have a variety of styles because they know women's bodies come in a variety of shapes! I try to stop in several times a year to see what's new, when I need a special outfit or a gift for a friend. This week I bought a pair of Mia slides that are waterproof, perfect for after my swims, and they have a Birkenstock footbed making them super comfortable with support for my feet. Love them! Just $30 and in a very on trend rose gold color with white buckles. Wore them to the pool the next day and a little girl complimented me! Too cute. My only complaint is that the store is so packed with items that when trying on shoes, there was nowhere to put the boxes while trying them on in front of the mirror. A sales clerk ended up vclearing off a stool so I could place my potential shoes there as I tried on different sizes and styles. They have several locations (downtown, SE Clinton) and it's worth visiting them all!

The prices are in the high side, especially for Portland, but a cashmere cardigan for $400 is the going rate. The boutique is bright, clean and has an industrial vibe. It's easy to browse through the racks of clothing which line the parameter on racks in a color coordinated fashion. The cashmere dresses are scrumptious! Beautiful in color, texture and style; refined elegance, classic, timeless. Even cashmere loungewear, perfect for staying comfy and warm during these long days spent at home. Kayla, the young woman working that day, was super helpful and pleasant. She easily engages in conversation and provides assistance, if that is your mode of shopping. And also gives one the freedom to browse at their leisure with no pressure to purchase, which is my preference. We visited on MLK Day and were there specifically to see what Oliveve handbags were available since I had recently come across this brand while shopping at the House of Lolo in Palm Desert. Kayla immediately recognized my Jasper bag! The Oliveve bags have a modern design, clean lines, and my bag is made of neutral colored pebbled leather. It's the perfect bag to use while shopping as it is a cross body style yet as large as a tote and holds a lot. That day there was only one Olivevebag available, a black handbag with tan wrapped handles, and my friend immediately claimed it! I'll have to go online (Oliveve.com) to buy my next one, the black oiled Italian leather Eva bag, which I've had my eye on for a few months. In addition to the clothing, they have a small selection of unique jewelry and other accessories like boots, tassels to add to your handbags, hats, belts and scarves. Even a small but unique selection of home decor items like textured throws, pillows, candles, woven baskets and trays, perfume and vases.p to adorn your home. Located on NW 11th in The Pearl District, it's around the corner from the main shopping area so unless you know it's there, you may not stumble upon it. It's worth seeking out if you want to add quality clothing to your wardrobe that you can wear season after season. And while you are there, definitely check out the jewelry, boots and the Oliveve handbags!

There really is not that much to choose from as the theme here is obviously minimalist. The few things they do have are lovely and for me, priced completely unreasonably. Like I am going to spend almost $1000 on a wool trench coat with some leather trim? Sure, it's a sharp looking coat. But good God, I know we are in the Pearl but is anyone going to spend that much? Maybe I am just not hip with the times and people really do spend that kind of money on a random coat, if so, I beg your pardon. It would be cool if your shop had goods that "normal" people like me, I know I am throwing the term normal around quite loosely but folks probably get my gist. My budget for a really nice and very unique coat is more like $500.00 Unless you are selling Versace or something, consider rethinking your price points. It's just that I see so many shops like this come and go because nobody is going to really shop there. 2015 - Review # 98
