This is the outlet for Danish Pastry House. So baking / distribution go on here + they have opened up a small retail store in the front.
First, this place is quite hidden in the BACK of a fairly new industrial area in the most SW corner in Erin Mills. If you're on the border of Miss/Oakville or even Milton, this may be a convenient location for you. Otherwise, it can be quite out of the way.
Since it's an outlet, there's no frills, no Kontra coffee, definitely no samples in the day and age of Covid. :(
Smaller pastries are about $0.25-0.50 cheaper, while whole cakes are about $1 cheaper than their retail outlets. Everything is baked fresh, as the baking facility is on the premises, and they do offer day-old loaves of bread for ~$2.50. There's no tax if you buy 6+ items.
Store itself is quite small with only 3 ppl allowed inside at a time. I found the signs a bit far/small to read, but the lady who was working was very friendly and took her time to explain what everything was. I really appreciated it.
The outlet doesn't carry all the items that the regular retail stores (& that would be stored in a fridge) have such as marzipan, pumpkin cheesecake, coconut macaron, or those chocolate covered meringue-y things.
I think this place would be good IF:
- you're buying in bulk for a party or gathering
- you live nearby
Otherwise, you can just check out one of their retail locations! read more
