I've moved often enough to have experienced the good and the bad of movers. These guys are GREAT! Careful, accurate estimates, extremely careful attention to handling, not just wrapping furniture in moving blankets to avoid damage but METICULOUS wrapping, careful handling... every aspect of the move was absolutely top-drawer with thoughtful, professional attention to detail. The guys on the truck were all experienced, knowledgable longtime employees, not the day laborers who didn't know anything about how to do a professional move that other companies have employed. nitial problems began when my wife made a deposit. When is come close to moving day we could not get a response from this company. My wife than got me involved and I had to track the owner down personally. After the move was completed I noticed that a few pieces to my furniture was missing, again I contacted the owner who said he'll get to the bottom of things. After several attempts to follow up, the owner never responded. Now I have and incomplete set that must be replace. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY if you value your belongings. Daniel and his team helped me move a two story loft in JC to another apartment in the neighbourhood. They arrived exactly on time, and was very professional. They wrapped all the funiture pieces carefully and all arrived unscathed! They even helped me to assemble my furniture. Their move is minimum 4 hours and you pay by the hour, not by pieces/boxes. The prices are very reasonable. The only reason for taking one star off was because after reaching Daniel the first time to arrange for the move, it was very difficult to find him on the phone again . The buildings needed COIs and after not being able to reach him, I got very nervous especially since the move was on NY eve, it would be near impossible to find another company in such short period of time. Nevertheless, they pulled through and I am more than happy with their work. Would recommend. read more

I would have given them zero if i could. I booked with them through Unpakt a week before my move where it was showing they are available and provided me with a quote. I accepted their quote (even though it wasn't the lowest) based on good feedback on Yelp and rating by unpakt. I tried contacting them with nitty gritties of my move thrice and then sent a mail to customer service. instead of responding back they declined the move 2 days before my move. I wonder if anybody would like to work with them. Can't comment about their moving ability but their customer service SUCKS. read more

Daniel & Sons Moving Services is amazing. Moving is an extremely stressful event, but luckily we hired the right company to help. Our move was a complicated one - first we had to move 80% of our stuff out of a 2-BR condo into storage so we can properly stage the place for sale, then move the rest of the stuff PLUS the stuff in storage to the house we are buying. There was a lot of uncertainty in terms of timing, but Daniel was responsive, flexible, and supportive. Despite multiple changes to the time, Daniel was able to fit us in (on Super Bowl Sunday no less!) and the team was fantastic. Shareef & Jr. came to pack our stuff first and their company and professionalism was greatly appreciated - we were worried about a few pieces of artwork plus lots of fragile stemware but they were carefully wrapped and everything arrived without issues. On the day of the move, a team of six worked tirelessly from 9 am to well over 7 pm, making sure that the boxes were in the right areas before leaving. We interviewed quite a few movers before deciding on Daniel, and cannot be happier about our choice. read more

We used Daniel & Sons to move from a very challenging building in Jersey City to a single family home in Englewood. As our previous movers couldn't fit everything in one truck we were sure that with more furniture, neither could Daniel but he worked miracles and squeezed everything in. They were also very punctual and we TRULY appreciated the packaging supplies & boxes!!!!! We also have very fragile pieces and high end items that they carefully wrapped and handled with care. I highly recommend Daniel and Sons for your move. Daniel not only gave me a last minute quote, but literally organized his team to move us with less than 24 hours notice. Perhaps we got lucky, but I felt they went above and beyond for us in this regard. We ended up actually paying less than was quoted, which BTW, was competitive to begin with. No corners were cut and everything was moved safely and timely, including a large treadmill and elliptical. They did not charge any extras like tape, boxes, etc. However, we did do as much preparations as possible, so perhaps if you do not have everything boxed up it may be a different story. I would not doubt that you would get a fair and reasonable price if extras are needed for your move. We just used Daniel & Sons for our recent move in Hoboken. Exceptional service! First of all, we were in a total bind as we had to schedule our move in less than 72 hours- as if moving wasn't already stressful enough. Our new building required a lot of paperwork and Daniel was able to provide us with a very fair quote, complimentary boxes and packing materials (these were a LIFESAVER as I totally underestimated the amount that we would need) - as well as send over the requisite forms to our new property management company in this extremely short time period. He brought an extra mover at no additional cost to us and went out of his way to be very transparent about pricing throughout the whole process. The guys worked REALLY hard carefully wrapping and carrying our belongings down our winding two flights of stairs. This was not an easy task and even the snow during the middle of the move didn't slow them down. Everything arrived in perfect condition. I called Daniel and Sons over a month ago when I was planning my move. I explained to Daniel himself where I was moving from and to where and advised that I had a one bedroom apartment with just a dining room, living room and bedroom furniture to move. He asked me to send him a text with pictures of the furniture and that he would provide a quote and then email me contract. So I sent him the pics. He advised he received them and would send me the quote the following day. I still have never heard back from him. I called him two more times and texted him once over the next few days after my initial call asking him to please call me back because if we couldn't do business then I needed to move on to another company. He NEVER called back. I did not have an extreme amount of furniture nor did we have a bad conversation at any time! SO I cannot understand why he didn't return my calls even if it was to say that he could not do the job. If he didn't want to do it, that would have been fine. But I wasted a week waiting for him to call back instead of immediately searching for another mover. ..WHO DOES THAT!!! That is just unprofessional and irresponsible. Well it was their loss and my gain. I found a great company on Angie's list called M&M Movers Inc. and they were wonderful, courteous and responsible. read more

I trusted Danny to load my trailer for my move from Jersey City to Ann Arbor and I regret it. I lived on the second floor of a walk up with very narrow and slanted stairs. I should have known something was amiss from the start when they created a "slide" from cardboard boxes to get all my items downstairs. While Danny was very good with spacial relationships and was able to get all my items into the trailer in the allotted space, he was not very good at protecting my furniture, although I had saran wrap and bubble wrap at his disposal to protect my furniture. Every single item arrived scratched and gouged due to lack of protection. My bed frame is splintered beyond repair. He assured me *several* times that there wouldn't be a "scratch" on my furniture. Sadly, the exact opposite was the case. When I contacted him regarding this, he blamed the laborers on this end for their unloading. I think he truly believes that placing wood items against sharp metal items would not be a problem. But I watched them unload everything and have the pictures to prove otherwise. The kind of damage that my furniture sustained was not due to an instant of carelessness, rather a 600 mile journey of constant friction and abrasion. I would *not* recommend these movers. read more
