Found this place on Yelp on our drive back to the OC from Santa Barbara. It was a cool, laidback burger joint attached to a bar. Delicious burgers and amazing fries! Stopped here for a late lunch and was pleasantly surprised how great the cheeseburgers were. They came on a potato bun which is one of my favorites, and the smash burgers had delicious griddled onions, shredded lettuce, tomato, and homemade pickles. I'm not typically a pickle person but these tasted more like actual pickled cucumbers so I really enjoyed the flavor they added. The fries are homemade and nice and salty. Dang Burger has been on my list for so long and I was not disappointed at ALL! For parking, they do not have a separate lot so you will need to find street parking which is ample on the street next to the location. Dang Burger shares its location with a bar so when you enter, you will see the order counter to the left. The staff was friendly as they walked us through the menu and shared their favorites. Now...let's get into the FOOD. I am not sure how long the wait normally takes but we waited nearly 45 minutes for our food. But the wait was worth it because the MEAL, it was so GOOD! It's so hard to not see and taste the resemblance between Dang and In n Out, especially with the fries, but Dang wins!! Highly recommend the Single Dang and the Hot Dang! read more

Stopped by for lunch. First timer, and got a burger and fries to-go. The packaging impressed me, with each component having a durable container. I got a double burger, and it was the best one I'd had in forever. The fries were crispy and plentiful, despite being a small order. When getting a burger I HIGHLY recommend getting just meat bun cheese (and sauce) but don't get the original dang burger wit lettuce and tomatoes, they are WAY too wet and ruin the point of a smash burger being crispiness of the patty. Also the other reason I wouldn't give them the 5th star is the fries ... there is just something off about the flavor and also they seem to have more short pieces than full size. I do actually like their ranch for a change, it has kind of a pronounced dill flavor which is tasty. Service is pretty straightforward with order at the counter and pick up with pager. Only other issue is tables can sometimes be hard to come by if it's crowded. And they don't have indoor seating, so be careful if it's cold. read more

Stopped by this place after work on a Thursday night. I ordered a double dang with no tomatoes and an order of fries to go. It's an "order at the counter and sit anywhere with a buzzer" type of spot. The vibe inside was good but tbh it kind of smelled funky (like farts) :o I sat and waited for my order for over 30 minutes. Honestly it was worth it but I wouldn't wait much longer than that. I couldn't take any pics of the food because by the time I got it I was a little hangry and scarfed the whole thing immediately. The fries were In-N-Out-esque and SUPER salty. They give you a portion that's a fair size for 2 people. There is no denying the quality of the burger. Everything from the bun to the meat to the toppings was delicious. I read the SF Gate review of this place, and even though I don't eat burgers that often, I wanted to give them a try. I ordered online - if was an easy process. However, when I arrived I was disappointed that the website did not give me an option of ordering the special of the day (which I would have tried). The place is clean, warm and more like a bar than a hamburger joint. They were friendly, and I got my food fast. Double burger - I gotta admit, the burgers are damn good. Okay so all the hype around these burgers I think actually has to do with the name. To be perfectly honest, it was just a decent short order counter service burger. There was nothing extraordinary about it. I understand the smashburger trend, but this thing was so skinny and small. I like the idea of using beef lard for the fries And it definitely does positively affect the flavor of them. But overall this was just a skinny little patty short order burger. I went to Dang Burger a couple times when they had their popup and loved them! I am so excited for them to have a physical location! There is plenty of parking on the street. You go in and after ordering at the counter, you're given a buzzer and can grab a seat outside, at their window bar or at the Sunburst bar (and grab a beverage! I got an amazing glass of wine to pair with my burger and fries). The wait time wasn't too bad especially considering this place got pretty popular during lunch on a Sunday. A well known pop up smash burger group finally has a permanent home; and what a great choice they made. They have joined Sunburst Wine Bar inside their building on Carpinteria Ave. Easily located downtown Carp area. Sunburst offers their great variety of local beers and wines. They also carry a great variety of non alcoholic beverages. Dang Burger is a great addition to this Bar adding burgers, fries, salad, and cookies. Missing though is dang burgers jalapeño burger which is my favorite, but they do have their awesome in house made veggie burger. They tell me they plan to bring the jalapeño burger back, good news. Also missing is the license to allow under 21, they are waiting but it did not come through for their opening weekend. I will be happy when that arrives as it would be a great family place to enjoy food and a libation. There is a fabulous outdoor deck that will be great for family. There is a small area on the side outdoors where we could sit with our grandchildren. Service was friendly and efficient. For a Smash burger this is a good stop and the fact that you can enjoy beer or wine at the same time is a big plus. read more

First and foremost the biggest problem. Parking essentially there is none you gotta find parking on the streets or elsewhere close by cuz it will be buuuuusy. Food took about 30 min to be ready. I wasn't in a rush so I didn't mind. The burgers are flatter burgers not your typical roundish burgers that flavor was pretty good. Fries have a different texture (not a bad one just different) than the typical fast food place but still yummy . Cookie was pretty yummy not going to lie soft and crumbly while being able to maintain its form. Over all really yummy would go back there again as long as i have the time. read more

Dang Burger overall was a great experience. My girlfriend and I got a double dang, a single dang with no pickles, and shared a large fry. The food took around 20 minutes to come out which was not too bad. All of the food was delicious, with highlights being the burgers, and the highlights of the burgers being the meat quality, and the sweet sauce that is perfect on this burger. I also love the choice of shredded lettuce. Additionally, we went on Halloween, so a lot of the staff was dressed up which was fun and they were very easy to talk to. I asked the bartender if there was a happy hour and she let me know that they have a happy hour during the week from 2:30-4:30. Most of the seating is outside with the bar being inside and it creates a nice open feel to it with the sea breeze and sun feeling great while you are eating. Not too loud as is mostly outside.
