Vegan burger
Tanner C.

A little pricey, but the vegan burger and fries were really tasty! I liked the black bean patty and the fries were really crispy and seasoned very well. It was close enough that I just walked to the beach and ate it their, but the interior seemed cute and had a bar and plenty of seating.

Burgers were flavorful, but simple. The Hot dang was actually spicy. The fries were better than I expected. The negative would be the limited seats, and lack of shade. Casual outdoor seating along a busy street.

A beautiful new addition to Carpinteria Avenue. Carpinteria's main drag just got a lot more stylish. Convenient parking in the back lot or on the street. The interior is modern, intimate and stylish, featuring a nice bar with a curated selection of local beers and wines. Dong Burger is perfect for a post-beach meal. The food is a total homage to the classic California smash burger. While the burger was delicious and the ingredients tasted high-quality, The $13 price tag is the "beach tax" in action. The fries and red trays will feel very familiar to all In-N-Out fans out there, though it will hit your wallet a bit harder here. Service is still in the "soft opening" phase but very pleasant. It's a great place to grab a local beer and people-watch, but if you're feeding a large family on a budget, you might want to head down the road. Buen provecho.

Very yummy burger and fries...reminds of in n' out really. Service was good despite it being busy. We scored a seat outside for our small group and it's a great local spot for Carp! I would definitely stop by here again when in Carp and want a burger in fries and don't forget to ask for extra pickles! I love pickles and they made every bite extra!

Dang burger was so good! I'm a huge smash burger fan and this met all expectations for a solid smash burger! The meat was juicy, the bun was soft, and I loved the sauce. The burger was very flavorful. I also had their shoe string fries. Small fries that reminded me of in n out, but were tasty. We ordered our food and it came out quickly. It was made fresh and hot. There's indoor seating, but mostly outdoor with some shaded tables. The prices are very reasonable. There's beers on tap too. No complaints about Dang Burger! I would definitely recommend it and return again!

I've had my fair share of smashburgers and this by far is the BEST that I've ever had. Walk up and order inside so there are no servers. I went on a busy sunny Sunday and didn't have to wait that long for my juicy smashburger. Has a nice vibe with a small bar inside that serves wine and a handful of beers on tap.

This burger was sooooo good. Super interesting flavor, was super creamy. Jalapeños were delectable

Dang Burger is in downtown Carpinteria, CA. They share space with the Sunburst Wine Bar. I knew I had to check this place out since every time we drove by, the patio was packed. I did check it out and that burger sure is a dang delicious burger. When you walk into the building, Dang 's ordering counter is to the left. Staff are super helpful. Awesome attitudes. Sunburst Wine Bar is to the right. The outdoor patio is for all customers to use. All the burger patties are 3 oz patties of grass feed beef with the cattle carrot feed. That's what the menu stated. I don't know if feeding the cattle carrots makes the meat taste sweeter and more tender. But I do know the burger was delicious. The burger cost $9, not a normal price I would like to pay for a minimalist burger with a 3oz patty. The menu options are not large. They have a few burger choices $9-$14, a black bean burger (vegan) $14, uncured hot dog $6, salad $10, boiled peanuts $3, chocolate chip cookies $2, and fries $4-$6 that comes in two sizes and two cooking methods. Both method involves hand pressed fries. Then one involves deep frying twice in tallow; and the other is a vegan version. I had the non vegan version. Mmm. As I ate them, I had no clue how they were prepared. Delicious. But I'll go with the vegan version next time.

Insane. One of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Surprisingly great despite coming in 20 minutes before closing. French fries were cut small - as in short, which wasn't my favorite and single handedly the only gripe I have. They are fried in beef tallow and have a very delicious taste. I'd recommend coming here, and while eating my single cheeseburger the taste and quality was reminiscent of what I would imagine In N Out tasted like when they first opened, before getting popular.

Hot dang burger, large fries.

Delicious smash burger with hot shoestring fries. Sat on the outdoor patio and enjoyed every bite. Quick delicious find on our drive to SLO. Boiled peanuts were warm and delicious

We were very confused about the fries. They looked like the end bits and most of our fries were very small and short, they did not look like the fries that other patrons posted online. We were very excited to eat here but were very disappointed. Also, how hard is it to remake fries? We asked if the fries were supposed to look like that and the response was "Yeah, thats what they look like." If thats what the fries look like, I won't be coming back. Very disappointing!

Double dang with fries and beer

Came on a rainy Thursday and ordered at the counter and waited about 25 mins for my food, longer than I was expecting but it was lunch time and they are very popular. I got a beer from sunburst while I waited and sat outside. I got my order finally and ate it up quick, I was so hungry. It was so filling though I didn't eat dinner! It's high quality ingredients for the burgers and fries. And lots of food! Enjoyed the rainy patio and slow carpinteria vibes

Double on a gluten free bun
A M.

I've been here a few times now. The first time the burger actually made me say dang out loud, it was well seasoned, the sauce was yummy and I was pleased to find they have an actually edible soft gluten free bun that's not excessively thick. The last 2 times ive gone, the burger was good but I feel like the seasoning of the meat is inconsistent. Could just be a preference but I felt they needed some salt. The fries are not my favorite. They taste good and I like their slender stature, but they are consistently short tidbits that feel like left over pieces rather than a basket of fries. There's usually just a few fully formed fries included in an order. Which also just makes for a frustrating fry eating experience. Service is always friendly and wait time is usually pretty reasonable. Parking is also not usually a big deal but maybe Ive just gone at the right times.

I've been to Italy and this was on par with that. I would have liked to see a layer of spinach but that's probably not authentic. My mom made it that way so I'm a little biased! For desert I got the light lemon custard which was very refreshing with an equally impressive cappuccino. Ciao, Bella!

Here's a break down of my experience: First of all, we came on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch. It says on the menu to ask about the daily special, but there weren't any. The waitress told us that on the weekdays, they do not offer daily specials since they do not have seafood on the weekdays; a weekend exclusive is what we were told. Very disappointing. We said it was fine, however, when it came to placing our orders from the menu, the waitress stopped us three times to let us know they were out of certain ingredients like ham and Italian bacon. Most of the food we ordered were not the dish in its complete form. Pasta Amatriciana: The dish I ordered. It did not come with the cured pork Italian bacon as advertised. The dish itself looks visually appealing but it was incredibly mediocre. The sauce was watery and poorly seasoned. Overall, the dish lacked flavor. I rate it as a 1/5. Chicken Vodka Pasta: the dish my mother ordered. Her comments were the same as mine. She notes that the sauce lacked seasoning and she described it as tasteless. Again, another poor dish. She rates it as a 2/5. Chicken Fettuccini: the dish my father ordered. He didn't have that much to say about it other than it being subpar. He rates it as a 2/5. I will say, in terms of pay, the price was fair. For 3 dishes, all of which came with generous portion sizes, totaled to about $62. Overall, I don't see myself returning to Mollie's in the future. They were out of many ingredients which led to mediocre dishes being served. If you wish to come here, I strongly suggest you visit on the weekend since they only serve special/ seafood dishes then. Other than that, Mollie's is a hard pass.
