i used Dang to cater my last pool party. They were such a pleasure to work with and helped me arrange a rain date when my original party was rained out. The food was amazing. All of my guests loved everything. We had pulled pork, pulled chicken, wings, chicken fingers, Cole slaw, potato salad and corn. Everything was delivered hot and fresh and we enjoyed left overs for days after. I cannot say enough good things about them. This place is proof that bbq is more of a southern specialty. I ordered sausage and brisket with sides of baked beans and Mac and cheese. The sausage was okay at best. As was the baked beans. The brisket however was dry and was like chewing leather. The lack of any type of BBQ sauce made it even worse. The Mac and cheese was just as dry and over cooked. I ordered this meal through doordash. As a to-go order you would think they would toss in utensils and napkins. Luckily I found a spoon for the beans. DANG....one of the best fit names I've ever experienced. At least 3 times during my visit I actually yelled DANG. The staff was welcoming, pleasant, polite, attentive and legitimately seemed liked they enjoyed being at work. The food was delicious I had a Bbq burrito(pictured), it was stuffed with mac n cheese, pulled pork and baked beans. My friends did a massive challenge (pictured) that included one of each burger on the menu, a huge pile of fries, order of deep fried pickles and 6 wings. Now the shake menu is...well....DANG. The shakes were enormous and delicious. They have your standard flavors and then they have the house specialties (which I highly recommend) I had the king (pictured) my buddy had the cereal killer (also pictured) everyone of genuinely enjoyed our meals and seriously considered going back later that evening to explore more of the menu. I so a lot of reviews for DANG BBQ in Islip so I figured I'd give it a try. I ordered 1/2 rack St.Louis ribs with cole slaw and sweet potato fries. My gf got brisket . Pros.. food was pretty good! Everything was fresh and tasty . Staff was friendly. Owner or mgr was walking around asking if everything was ok. Received my LI foodies discount AND double dipped with cash back from groupon! I didn't leave hungry. Cons..flimsy plastic silverware no silverware when food was delivered. A little hard to navigate thru your food with those.Apparently they give it to you when food is delivered. Had to get up ask for it. Happened to table next to us as well. No points taken off for that. Kids size muffin. Watch out,a lot of liquid cole slaw. Friday was our 2nd time going to Dang Bbq and it was great. Our server Mechele was amazing and remembered us from a few weeks before. We both got 3 little pigs (smoked sausage, pulled bbq pork and half rack of ribs). I got Mac and cheese and coleslaw for sides which was really good. I finally tried Dang BBQ after lots of people gave incredibly positive feedback on Facebook. I'm part of the Long Island Foodies group -I decided on trying Dang because they are one of the groups Partners...25% off the wings & 10% off the bill was enough to entice me. While my meal wasn't perfect, I was extremely impressed with both the service & my food. Located on Islip Ave, it's between Montauk Hwy & Sunrise so it shouldn't be too difficult to find. What will be difficult is finding a parking spot- beware! I was lucky enough to snag a space on the side of the building. The Service was wonderful. I was immediately greeted & seated. The server I had was super friendly. It did get packed toward the end of the night and not once did I feel rushed. The food did take a longer amount of time to come out of the kitchen compared to what I'm used to, but when it did arrive, it was fresh & hot. I also was able to get drink refills frequently. The prices were awesome! $11 for a burger is incredible, especially for the area! I think this is a cool place for a date night, getting together with friends, even for the kids! They have cool decor and I loved the music playing. The Food was tasty! I will be reviewing what I tried: The Complimentary Homemade Potato Chips were awesome! -Parmesan Garlic Boneless Wings: Definitely weren't my favorite version of parm garlic that I've ever had, they were just ok. This bbq is not good. I ordered the combo ribs and brisket. Ribs are supposed to be fall off the bone.....I could barely cut the ribs, and had fight to get off any meat. That's really bad. I feel like it's very hard to come by a good BBQ place this far out on Long Island, so Dang BBQ definitely found a necessary niche! I LOVE that water is initially served in red solo cups! So unique! I also recommend getting the "Fire Mule" - Jack Daniels Fire, ginger beer, and sour mix. It's one of the best mules I've ever had. Complimentary homemade chips are served upon seating, and they are AMAZING! We ordered traditional wings with the Carolina Gold BBQ sauce and WOW - I honestly want this sauce stocked in my fridge at all times because it was addictingly good. I ordered the BBQ pulled pork plate with sweet potato fries and baked beans as my entree and everything was excellent. I definitely used all of the BBQ sauces on the table - No regrets! The staff is very friendly. The space seemed nice. Walking in, it was very aromatic as one would expect in a bbq joint. I wanted to try ribs but decided to go with a pulled pork sandwich instead. I'm kinda on the fence with this. The meat seemed ok but I honestly would've preferred it without being saturated in a sauce. Less is more. The sandwich itself was large, but came with nothing on it. Very good visit here. Took my Mom. We each had the brisket plate, I had beans and Mac and cheese as sides, she had cole slaw and sweet potato fries. The brisket was good. I'd call it very good but it was just too dry for such platitudes. Still good. The sides were all outstanding. Beans were deliciously heavy on molasses, slaw was traditional NY-style slaw, sweet potato fries were handcut and very good, mac and cheese was good but maybe just slightly less good than the other sides. Cornbread was great, complimentary homemade chips to start were tasty and a nice touch. We didn't go for the extra 2,000 calories by getting a shake but a lot of folks were getting them and they all looked pretty awesome. One last thing - service was outstanding. Several friendly hellos from staff when we came in, all felt genuine, and Dom was busy but excellent. Drove past Dang BBQ several times when I'm in town headed towards the town for a late drink and today I took it upon myself to give it a try. I did not take a picture of the food, I was too busy stuffing my face! So here it goes, I would definitely recommend getting their full rack of ribs. They're tender and delicious, not quite fall off the bone but they did the trick! Delicious tangy sweet bbq glaze, they were HUMUNGOUS! A little dry for my liking as well, plus we weren't given proper knives for the ribs even after asking twice. My entree came with two sides which I chose BBQ Baked beans which weren't too bad, I'm glad I chose it though and then my other side was Mac and cheese, honestly I wasn't a fan at all. The cheese wasn't doing it for me. But the cheddar corn bread was phenomenal. They need a little butter on them haha! The service wasn't too bad, I asked the gentleman for the WiFi and he did not have a clue until I asked a young man working if he knew and he got it from the boss I guess. Spent some time catching up with friends at Dang BBQ on a Wednesday night. It was packed and the seating area was pretty small. I wouldn't recommend for large groups (there was 9 of us.) We got lucky enough to be seated together because the people at the table next to us had left. The wait staff was pleasant but food and drink were prolonged because we had such a large group, understandable. The manager came by, checked up on us a few times and even apologized for the delay. There were so many menu options that looked so good and I had no idea what to pick. I decided on the pulled chicken platter with mac and cheese and fries. My husband got the brisket and ribs combo with beans and the Mac and cheese as well. We both agreed the food was great but what we were really looking forward to were the shakes. We decided to split 'The King', named after Elvis. It had a chocolate, peanut butter and banana mixture with bacon. The milkshake was gone in seconds. Great atmosphere really friendly staff who were super helpful but overall the food wasn't to our liking

Our server was amazingly attentive (young guy wearing a backwards baseball cap) and checked on us often, but the food was just okay. We ordered the "Animal House Challenge" to share between five people, and also added on a pulled chicken plate and a pulled pork plate. Of all the proteins, the brisket was the standout. It was super tender and had a nice smokiness to it, although it could have used a bit more seasoning. They included some of the burnt ends, which helped accentuate the barbecue aspect, but it wasn't quite enough. The pork ribs, while lacking in smoke flavor, were cooked really well and came clean off the bone with each bite. I wasn't a fan of the pulled pork at all. It was too finely, and homogenously, pulled and the sauce they mixed into it was too sweet. The sausage link was a sweet sausage link that needed some more time in the smoker. I'm more of a fan of a hard-smoked hot link, which was the opposite of what Dang's serves, but that's just a personal preference. We got the deep fried pickle chips to start, which were delicious because of the BBQ ranch dip. The pickles themselves were very thin and the batter was coated very heavy-handedly, resulting in pickle chips that were mostly batter and without the acidity to balance it. We also tried the chili queso dip, which I found a little disappointing. Queso is a hard thing to pull off (just ask Chipotle) and Dang's version left something to be desired. The cheese dip tasted synthetic and had a thicker texture than I'd like. The bites where you got a slice of jalapeno were good, but otherwise it was a pretty muddled flavor. Adding some of the spicy barbecue sauce to each bite helped give it some acidity. Sides were pretty standard. The Animal House Challenge came with two very large sides. The mac and cheese is not the cheesy gooey experience you're imagining when you order mac and cheese. It's essentially pasta mixed in a cheese sauce with just enough cheese sauce to coat the pasta. This place has an extensive and "fun" menu, but with all the loaded mac and cheeses and the crazy sandwiches and the burgers with peanut butter and the milkshakes meant for instagram, they seem to have lost sight of focusing on the proteins first. read more

We celebrated my 16 year old's birthday at Dang's BBQ in Seaford. There were 13 very hungry boys who left happy and with full bellies. We asked about brisket and chicken and got a thumbs up so we ordered. Sweet potato fries and Mac n cheese sides along with an order of creamy garlic Parmesan wings. Drive back home we couldn't wait and nibbles on the sweet potato fries. The smell inside the car was so good and the fries were so nicely seasoned and still some crisp. and don't know if it was cause we might have been their last customers but the portion size on the fries was really generous. This is the worst food I ever ate. The first time I went I got the bbq pulled chicken. I was so disappointed because I loved Smokin Al's and when I ordered a similar dish at Dang it was horrible. The chi was rubbery like they threw in the skin and gristle. A few years later I decided to give them another try thinking maybe the got some new cooks. Boy was I wrong. I ordered the chopped brisket. It was more fat than meat that I was served. And the few pieces of meat without fat on it was so tough to chew I think my dog would have spit it out. During this pandemic my husband and I wanted to try something new. Friends have recommended dang so we decided to order through door dash. We waited a while after I placed the order, but due to the circumstances I totally understand. Our food arrived perfectly and still hot. I made a special request on my order for the slider basket to do 1 pulled chicken slider and 1 brisket slider and they accommodated it. I was thrilled, as it gave me the chance to try both. I went to Dang with friends and it was quite an enjoyable experience! The restaurant was not huge inside but it definitely felt big enough where patrons had room. Our waiter was a nice guy and was attentive even though the restaurant was crowded. He made rounds when he could and I appreciated his effort. My friends and I were starving so we skipped apps and went right for the entrees and they did not disappoint! I got the Poultry Geist wrap and it was delicious. It was packed with flavor and protein and paired with French fries that were absolutely to die for. I actually had to get the fries away from me because I have no self control and would have eaten the entire dish of them. Entering the restaurant we found that it was rather small however noticed that all tables were occupied by families and that they all seemed to be having a great time. We were starving and ordered the "Pitmaster" which is mixture of all meats including ribs and side dishes. The price was only $74.00 which for BBQ is cheap as hell and made me question whether we had ordered enough. Our waitress told us this was more than enough. As we waited for our food we realized that this restaurant does not have WIFI and this is done on purpose to force families to talk and not use their electronics. Needless to say, my family and I were forced to talk and we suddenly realized what real fun was. We had a blast with one another. Another treasure this restaurant has was our waitress Michelle, she had us laughing up a storm and making sure that we were very well taken care of. When the food came, I could not believe the amounts of meat and food we received. In fact there was so much food we could only finish 75%. Now the food -----Once you go here trust me when I tell you, you will never go to another BBQ restaurant again. The food was seasoned and cooked perfectly and was out of this world. We had five separate BBQ sauces on the side and each better than the other and there were five meats included in our order. As we were finished, the Asst manager Tony came to see how we were doing and sat to talk to our kids. He joked and laughed with them and us and was just awesome !!!!!!!!!!! After dinner the kids each had these giant milkshakes which according to the kids were to die for !!!!!!!!! This place is really a treasure. My family and I spent two hours there and never have we had so much fun eating dinner as a family as we had there. I was contemplating not writing any review for this place because I wanted to keep it as a place all to myself but realized how selfish that would have been. I stopped in yesterday to sit and have a drink and something to eat. Ordered the Burnt Ends Brisket . It was swimming in grease and I just couldn't finish it. The wings were ok that I had ordered as an appetizer but the rest of the meal unfortunately was no very good at all. I'm in the area quite a bit and was hoping it would be good, it just wasn't. The bartender was not too attentive and was more interested in cleaning up to get closed than how I was doing. By the time I signed my cc receipt I still had all my dishes and 2 drinks in front of me. Nothing was ever cleared. Probably wouldn't have bothered me as much if the meal was good. Brisket was $28 for a small greasy dish, cold slaw and Mac and cheese. I don't mind paying as long as it's good. At the end of the bar another employee had his girlfriend waiting for him and he was hugging and kissing her most of the time, came behind the bar 2 times never asked if I needed anything. Wanted it to be good but was very disappointed One of the most disappointing things was during this entire time it seemed like what was the manager was sitting at a table doing paperwork and never got up from his chair once to check on his place. Have dined here a few times and LOVE it...especially their Burnt Ends...tender and tasty!! Their ribs are also DEELISH, as are their sides; Mac n cheese, collard greens (not the slightest bit of bitterness), and their baked beans. They also serve milkshakes, especially "boozy" shakes. I love bbq and was really excited to try this place out. I placed an order over the phone and the girl who helped me was extremely nice and helpful. I ordered the pulled chicken with 2 sides. Majority of my chicken was small hard pieces. I'm not sure if it was the bottom of the bowl but I was pretty disappointed. My Mac and cheese was on the drier side and pretty stringy instead of creamy. The Cole slaw was good and I loved the corn bread. My boyfriend thought his meal was pretty good. Amazing food, looks like a hole in the wall place but food tell you different. The Burnt Ends are done perfectly, not dried out and hard. This is a don't miss place for BBQ, considering it's on LI.
