After hearing about Crossroads Que from a coworker for several weeks, I was genuinely excited to…read morefinally give it a try. I was told repeatedly that the food was worth trying, so I went in with pretty high expectations. The atmosphere was actually great. There was live music while I waited, and I really enjoyed that part of the experience. The menu prices initially seemed reasonable as well. However, the portion sizes and food quality were very disappointing for what I paid. I ordered the barbecue chicken, and the portion came in a very small, hand-sized container. I counted seven slices of white meat. Unfortunately, the chicken was dry and rubbery. It definitely had a smoky flavor, but for me, the smoke overwhelmed the meat and there wasn't much flavor beyond that. I also ordered a brisket plate for someone else. When I opened the container to make sure I had the correct order, I was surprised to find only two slices of brisket. My total was close to $50, so seeing portions that small was honestly very disappointing. The amount of food I received felt more like an appetizer than a full plate. The sides were a mixed experience. The cucumber salad was actually very good. It had a vinaigrette-style dressing, red seasoning, and red onion, and that was probably my favorite part of the meal. Unfortunately, the mac and cheese did not work for me at all, and neither the brisket nor the chicken had the level of flavor I was expecting. I want to emphasize that this is simply my personal experience and preference, and I'm not trying to discredit the food truck or suggest that everyone will have the same experience. I know food is subjective, and clearly there were plenty of people enjoying themselves when I was there. For me, though, the combination of the portion sizes, price, and flavor made this a very disappointing meal. I had been looking forward to trying Crossroads Que for weeks because of the recommendation, and unfortunately, I left feeling like I had barely eaten despite spending close to $50. I'm always willing to pay for good food, but I also expect the quality and portions to feel worthwhile for the price. Unfortunately, that wasn't my experience here.

5 + + + Super super…read moreexcellent! The best brisket on Long Island! We recently used Crossroads Cue to cater a small event. We highly recommend them and will use them again. Also, we will probably stalk the food truck at local events and around town! Sooo good! The guys were amazing to deal with and are clearly experienced professionals! We had a full tray of brisket which was absolutely perfect perfect perfect! I dont know if they used a prime brisket but it sure tasted like an expensive prime brisket perfectly slow cooked into tender flavorful perfection! Not easy! Beautiful bark and smoke ring! The points were juicy tender and pulled apart with just your fingers. The flats were also finger pulling tender and NOT dry! Not fatty! Everything rendered perfectly and not rubbery! They did an excellent job! Worth the price of admission! Best brisket on Long Island! We also had pork belly burnt ends! They were a huge hit! Good enough to eat for dessert! Dont forget to get em! We also had 4 racks in of Texas style spare ribs that came with 4 different delicious sauces! Really good! Forgot, we also had mac and cheese and baked beans, quite good and delicious. Highly recommended! Great food truck but these guys are also an excellent choice for catering! In addition to their food truck they have a large fully equipped commercial kitchen capable of handling fairly large catering events. Oh, and right outside their shop is their custom made giant offset smoker. Ask to check it out! They only burn oak in their off set smoker giving their food just the right amount of delicious subtle smoke flavors to complement their slow cooked premium meats! Sooo good! Oh i forgot to mention, these guys are local guys passionate about bbq and serving people a high quality product! Highest recommendation!

Fairfield Ballpark, Central Islip (Ducks Game)…read more I had the pleasure of trying the Piggy Fries from the Dang BBQ food truck during a Ducks game, and wow -- they blew me away! These fries were made to order and served piping hot, with a perfect delicate crispness that held up beautifully under the generous toppings. The meat was tender, flavorful, and clearly slow-cooked with care. Every bite was better than the last -- honestly, it was even better than I expected. The food truck itself was impressively clean and smelled incredible from the mix of barbecue and fried goodness wafting out. The very beautiful woman taking orders had such a kind, pleasant face that she instantly brightened my day. And major kudos to the cook -- whoever's running the grill is an absolute star. I'm already craving a second plate! If you ever catch the Dang BBQ truck at an event, do yourself a favor and order the Piggy Fries. You won't regret it.

While I have not had a bad experience yet with anything I have ordered, my favorite item on the menu is the Caesar salad (he puts Bacon in it!). If you are looking for a restaurant with a very cool vibe but not a crazy party scene, head on down to Zest in Bay Shore. Have some fun with the menu -- you will not be disappointed.

I felt like I was in the Jamaican countryside, with reggae music from Spotify playing in the background and several potted palm plants adorning the premises. I ordered the Creuban sandwich: Pastrami, Ham, Swiss, Sauerkraut, and Russian Dressing on a club roll. It is a cross between a Cuban Sandwich and a Reuben Sandwich, but it had no dill pickles! So I asked for some because dill pickles are an essential ingredient in the Cuban sandwich. The Creuban tasted better with the pickles, and that is how I will order it next time. Also some extra sauerkraut packed a flavor punch! Attention Egg and Cheese sandwich lovers: There are many Egg and Cheese sandwich variations here, including a Pulled Pork Egg and Cheese and a Porkstrami Egg and Cheese. Service was quick, and staff was friendly. Closed for business on Mondays.

The Beachfire chicken had the perfect amount of spice, and the Gallo pinto on the side was super fresh and flavorful. The tacos were only $1 off the regular price, and they were the smallest tacos I've ever seen. Even with the discount, they still felt overpriced for the portion size. We ordered three carne asada tacos, one chicken taco, one al pastor taco, and the cotija fries. The food was just okay, nothing that stood out or made me want to come back. The service was also just okay. Our waitress wasn't very personable. I ordered the Island Rum Punch, and it was terrible. When I mentioned that it didn't taste right, she explained they were out of one of the liquors that normally goes into the drink. She never offered to replace it or let me choose something else. Instead, I ended up asking for more simple syrup just to make it somewhat drinkable. The entire experience felt mediocre and lackluster. Between the disappointing food, underwhelming service, and poorly handled drink issue, it just wasn't money well spent. Unfortunately, I don't see myself returning to this establishment.
