The least amount of people you will do a Barbeque for seems to be 40 people. I'm looking to serve 30 and looking at your restaurant menu. Would you consider this a better choice for this many people? Also, do you actually have a restaurant?

His staff is so polite and jumped right into with any requests that I had. They were flexible and able to adjust their normal routine to work at this wedding as our event was an unusual location hosting a wedding at a horse farm. Nick was able to come up with unique ideas on how to set up and cater an amazing wedding in a unique location with under circumstances that are very different from a typical venue. As always, the food was incredible. Breakdown at the end of the night was quick and tidy! 10/10 would recommend!

Nick set up a 40 x 40 ft tent flawlessly, provided all the lighting and the table chairs, dishes etc etc - basically everything. He then set up an on-site kitchen that delivered with some of the best food: His chateaubriand grilled on a charcoal grill was outrageous. His calamari was tender and cooked on sight. His salads were fantastic, and even the asparagus was great. For dessert his Banana foster garnered rave reviews. Likewise for his shrimp, salmon and lamb chops. No one left hungry or disappointed. Nick had the good thought at our home based wedding located on the Great South Bay to drop the flaps on the tent when the wind picked up at the end of the ceremony. We didn't have to tell him - he anticipated what we needed for the event to be a success. That is Nick's secret - his experience and cooking expertise makes him anticipate your needs before you do! His crew of 6 were so helpful and caring. Every guest told us it was the best wedding they had been to. Why? Great food, caring help, smart plentiful choices. When the great evening was done, the backyard was left spotless with almost no reminders a great event occurred there. I wish I had photos to add but we were all busy enjoying ourselves, so I will post when we get them from the photographer Thank you Nick and the Tanglewood crew- you are the best!

"Up in Smoke" (UIS) is a fitting name for this business. It is a term used when a plan fails or…read morecomes to nothing. It is also a term used to describe something destroyed by fire. I wish I could say fire was used in the preparation of the food I sampled, but it may have not been used. I take you to the 4th of July 2023. I attended a party which used brisket purchased from this business. A business that falsely describes, on its corporate web site, its brisket as "smoked brisket". See attached picture from company web site. Note: brisket is the most popular meat for smoking, followed in popularity by pork butt, pork shoulder and ribs. The UIS brisket had zero smoked flavor, and tasted and looked like pot roast (brisket is always sliced against the grain and this was not the case here. There were strings of meat when it fell apart). It had the texture of a chuck roast, cooked as pot roast and then sliced in the shape of brisket slices, though not as long. I emailed an owner named Jeff a few days later to voice my concern. He's apparently in denial. Claims the brisket is now Au Ju's style. Meaning, Cooked in liquid. Conveniently not mentioned on their web site. Again, see picture from web site taken today. Au Ju's is kept a secret from those browsing the web site. Why would a bbq business prepare the most popular smoked cut of meat a different way? I don't know. I can speculate two possibilities. One is laziness. Smoking takes time and effort. Throwing brisket in liquid to cook is easy, yet yields horrible bbq results. The other is difficulty smoking wherever they were smoking. Neighbors often complain about smoke in the air. Happened to Smokin' Al's in Massapequa. Their proper solution for Al's was to smoke food elsewhere. Back to the situation at hand. So Jeff tells me that they sell 3000 pounds of brisket annually and I am the first to complain it isn't smoked by a business built on and around smoke. Laughable. I offered to bring in samples of the alleged beef brisket to demonstrate that it is probably fake and chuck roast instead but my offer was ignored. That says a lot about this business. Jeff claimed that all customers are notified of the Au Jus preparation and I confirmed that was not the case here.

Susanne always responded quickly, answered our questions right away, and made everything feel easy and stress free. The venue was beautiful, with amazing skyline views, and the service was outstanding. One thing our guests especially appreciated was the variety of food options available. There were plenty of choices to accommodate different dietary needs and preferences, which made everyone feel included. The food was delicious. The chicken marsala, baby potatoes, broccoli rabe, and steak were all excellent and received many compliments from our guests. The drinks, atmosphere, and overall experience exceeded our expectations. We received so much positive feedback and many people commented that it was the best end of year event we have had. We were deciding between a few caterers and had a tasting with the Perry's that just sealed the deal. My (now) husband and I walked out of there saying it felt like we just had lunch with our aunt & uncle, it felt like we had known them that long! They are two amazingly warm people -- of course it helps that John is incredibly organized and good at his job and that Nikki makes the most delicious bites. We devoured every little last bite at that tasting.. Nothing went to waste! John was so helpful with everything leading up to the day of as well, from picking out rentals, to working out our timeline. We decided to have a different format (cocktail stations as opposed to a formal sit-down dinner) and working together, John helped us make sure we'd have a smooth flow and that everything would go off without a hitch. As we were working out the details with the rentals, I never felt like he was pushing me one way or the other -- even when he put together the list of kitchen items they'd need (my venue did not provide any set-up), I knew he was being careful about not over-ordering. I really felt like he had my best interests in mind at all times. Having him to coordinate all the details made me feel at ease.. I knew I was in good hands! On our actual wedding day, we were so well taken care of. The staff made sure we were eating (haha, doesn't always happen at weddings!) and everything ran so smoothly. Later in the evening, a very traumatic family emergency happened during the reception that put a frightening pause on the celebration. John was a rock and I really felt like I looked to him for the "What now?" John & Nikki were different from some of our other vendors with whom we'll probably not be in touch again. I feel like we'll be sending John & Nikki Christmas cards for years to come.. :) They embraced us and made us feel like family, and I'm certain they will you too.
