Optometry office is located inside Costco off Senter. Have been taking my mom here for years and they have always taken great care of my mom. Easy to book appointments and everyone is professional. Unfortunately they no longer take VSP, I think it's private payments only. read more

I been coming here for I believe 25 years now for my eye exams . There was a point where I switched to Kaiser and also tried an other office from my insurance . No one seem to really understand my eyes like Dr. Dang my eyes are pretty special. I got stigmatism on both and they're both very different. When I went to the other places, I would get headaches because they would prescribe me way too high of a prescription. Even though I moved 2 1/2 hours away, or have great insurance, I will always come to this doctor. He knows my eyes so well ! I really don't trust anyone else. The office is clean and very organized the young lady in the front is very nice. Dr Dang is just amazing and friendly I will be back once a year . read more

My wife had gone to a different eye doctor over a year ago. From when she first got her new glasses, she struggled to see well. We decided together to find another doctor and she came across Dr. Chang who works inside the Costco here on Senter Road in San Jose. We were able to make the appointment over the phone fairly easily. The rate for a base eye exam is $75.00. No gimmicks or hidden fees. Upon arriving, we were greeted by by the front desk person, who was very nice. There afterwards, we met Dr. Chang. She is very sweet and bubbly. She walked us through all the steps on what she was doing and she even helped us troubleshoot options for bifocals. She gave us options and within 20 minutes, we were on our way. Overall; for the price, you get a Doctor that knows what she is doing. My wife loves her new glasses. We look forward to coming back for our bi-yearly visits! Thank you Dr. Chang! read more

I've been seeing Dr Dang on and off for years and he's great. He is very knowledgeable, get to the point, and tell you what you really need. I appreciate that. My mom loves him too. He's the rare kind of doctor who you just love. It's also very efficient when you're in the office. You show up on time, he'll see you on time. Pricing is also very clear so there's no confusion. Highly recommend!! read more

Easy to make an appointment, the doctor is very thorough and explains things well, and staff are friendly and patient. I've been going here for years after hearing from many people that they go here. Dr. Dang recently upgraded his technology too. Also pricing is very transparent. read more

I have been seeing dr dang since 2001 and I would not change him for anyone else. I have a unusual eye capillaries in the shape of curly cues and I did go to Kaiser for an exam once it was part of my plan. I was there for 3 plus hrs since my eye condition is unusual and some eye doctors never get to see in personI had a parade of doctors, and students coming in to see, I felt like an oddity. Dr Dang mentioned my condition and told me not to worry I would not have any eye health issues... Dr Dang thanks for all you do!! read more

Dr Dang and his staff were courteous and professional. Wait was not long. Care by the assistant was very efficient. Dr Dang took the time to explain to me about my eye condition and didn't make me feel rushed. Gave me a referral to an ophthalmologist for further medical care. Had a comfortable experience with this office. Will come back again. read more

You are the G.O.A.T., Dr. Dang! I'm glad my Mom made me come and pay for her eye exam with you. She always said if it wasn't for her, I would've never met you read more

Wonderful experience every time I come in for an eye exam or to update my prescription! He actually takes his time to inform you about your eye exam and meeting your needs when it comes to your prescription. Dr. Dang is a very relaxed and a cool optometrist! read more

I am so happy to have found Dr. Dang. Located inside Costco, Dr. Dang provides excellent service without the BS. Making appointment was simple and easy. My appointment was on time, no wait. The exam was quick, no looking at a monitor and clicking button if you see light. Dr. Dang is straight forward, no BS. I was in and out in 15 minutes. I couldn't believe it. Usually over an hour. Dr. Dang does accept VSP insurance. My exam for contact and glasses after insurance was $45. You cannot charge your exam on your Costco Amex. Overall, very happy with Dr. Dang! read more

The staff and optometrist are very professional. I've been having my eyes checked here for over 10 years now

I've been a patient with doctor Dan for most of my life with the exceptions of when my dad didn't have insurance and such. Out of all the eye doctors I've had: they were okay or really bad. He was the only one who was always great. My insurance currently doesn't have coverage here. And I feel guilty because it feel a little 'disloyal' but I think this review needs to be done. The current one I have is great (staff though meh) and as great as him. Although I feel like he is definitely more experienced than my current eye doctor. I started wearing glasses in the 4th grade, but I believe I started seeing him around before middle school. So I've seen consistent great results. You know theres always that doctor that gets older and they might start to be bad at their job (like my dentist)? No, not Dr. Dang. With him, I'm not afraid to tell him if something looks the same, or to ask him to do it again since honestly: you sometimes just can't tell. He's never rude, been short. If he's ever had a bad day: I've never known. He explains things. Hes friendly: and even "funny" said by a friend I recommend to him aka Ann (in the review section). I've never had a bad prescription. My dad was laid off in between. There was one year sandwiched in where I had to go to a different doctor: I felt like the prescription was off and it was hurting my eyes.. The next year back at Dr. Dang's: I got a similar prescription to the one I had before with him just with slight alterations (since my eyes changed), and it was the perfect one. He was the first doctor to help me with getting my contacts. I wasn't allowed to get them until I was past 16 (so my eyes could mature and if I got a scratch it would heal), AND I was the silliest sight on trying to figure how to put them on and he didn't laugh at me (which I wouldn't have minded/been offended to), but yeah hes great. - His assistants are nice, but they're kind of whatever to be honest: they come and go. Costco doesn't have so much of a selection for glasses (at least for my face: I have massive cheekbones), but I would advise you to check him out: he does more than a great job and I feel like you'd be in great hands. My whole family has never had an issue with him. If you see this: I hope you don't feel betrayed.. Always will be my favorite. And one other thing, the fact it's not a boutique like optometry means: it's actually comfy to sit in or comfier than a boutique like one. read more

I had an eye exam with Dr. Chang, who works alongside Dr. Dang, during Covid. She was very knowledgeable and the process was personable and efficient. I was hesitant to try a new optometrist, especially during Covid times but I was very pleased with my experience and the place was constantly being cleaned. I would recommend this location to any of my friends and family! read more

I've been with Doctor Dan T Dang for over 10 years and he is an excellent Doctor he is very knowledgeable and experienced and he's caring and warm, plus he is very reasonable. I hope he stays at this costco for a very long time read more

I seriously look forward to going to the optometrist because of Dr. Dang! I know its strange but he just makes you feel so at ease and comfortable when you're in that seat forced to choose between 1 or 2! Although their office is out of network for VSP I still go here over other optometrist that are in my network because he's that great! An eye exam is usually $89 and if you have VSP you'll end up paying $39! Not too bad for a perfect prescription! Helen from his office is a sweetheart too! She knew I wanted to get in before Dr. Dang went on vacation and called me when they had a cancellation. The staff is professional and the doctor is amazing. He gave me a few trials to tr over the years until I found my perfect pair! I will go to Dr. Dang until he will not practice anymore, and hopefully that'll be never! read more

Dr. Dang?? Where do I start. This doctor is the best eye doctor I have ever seen (like literally cus he helps me see uknowwhatimean?) Alright so maybe I've only been to 3 in my life but he is byyyy farrrrr THE BEST. While an eye appointment can be awkward and boring, Dr. Dang will chat it up with me and ask about my life. Ever since I've gone here many years ago, he has always been personable and friendly. Back when I was a poor student, he even gave me a discount on an eye exam. :') That to me says wonders about this doctor. Now one time last year, Dr. Dang was out of town and so I decided to make an appointment with a substitute doctor that was there. She was alright but I felt like I missed out on that yearly eye exam with my cool eye doctor 8) I will never see another eye doctor again as long as Dr. Dang continues to work at Costco. Thank you Dr. Dang for helping me see and providing me with awesome service! You're awesome! read more

Most knowledgeable and friendly optometrist you can find. I have been going to Dr. Dang since I was a kid and continue to go to him even though I have moved to Southern California! I make sure to make an appointment with him whenever I'm in town because I only trust him with my eyes! read more

Always has been great service with Dr. Dang. This doctor is honest and 100% trustworthy as many years as I've been going to him for eye exams. (about 15+ years). Can't beat the price, just got to get over the parking at Costco. He's worth it though! read more

Doctor Dan is simply the best! She is so committed and quickly got my diagnosis. Everything was perfect!

I have been going to Dr. Dang for over four years. He gives nothing but the best to all of his patients. Whenever I go to get my check-ups he remembers me and takes his time to really explain what is happening with my eyes. Also, he talks to you as if you're an actual person and is interesting in getting to know you, Something I think that's important when you are regular patient. I would recommend him to any person! read more

I have been going to Dr. Dang for many years. My sister-in-law became an optometrist several years after I found Dr. Dang, and I still go to him because he is so very personable and professional. I made an appointment today and the lady who helped me schedule was very sweet and pleasant as well. Top notch practice. read more

My siblings and I have been going to Dr. Dang for over a decade (I started when I was 15 and now I'm 27). Unlike other optometrists I sometimes try out over the years, I appreciate Dr. Dang because he's the most PATIENT eye doctor I have ever met. And he really takes the time to listen to my concerns like whether I feel my prescription is too strong. He doesn't mind redoing the "Is 1 or 2 better" test over and over. And above all, he's extremely nice and not pushy like some optometrists can be. read more

I was in a situation where I urgently needed new contacts because as a student, I needed to see the board in order to study for finals. I called in and asked if there was any way I can purchase trial contacts, and much to my surprise, they let me. Thank you Dr. Dang and Abby for helping me so last minute and I really can't thank you enough. Shoutout to Abby for being so sweet when helping me put on my contacts the first time and for helping me the times after. You're amazing! read more

This review for MAYRA, optical section. I have seldom found such a loving personality, amiable nature and knowledgeable. I made glasses which were returned twice due to some adjustments etc. But this time, I met Mayra and she gave a detailed attention to work on the frame not to fall down on my nose. She has command on fingers and virtuous skill. She is an "Asset" to optical section. read more

I've been going to optometrists for the last 15 years and Dr. Dang is the best one I've ever gone to. He is so nice and welcoming. He was very clear in all his explanations and descriptions of what he was doing. And even better, he's so efficient! He also takes VSP so you can get both eye glasses and contact prescriptions for about the price of just an eyeglass prescription. You really can't beat that. Helen, the receptionist is very welcoming as well. Unfortunately, I'm moving out of the area, but I am going to seriously consider coming back just to see Dr. Dang whenever I need a new prescription! read more
