I was in search for a new optometrist and was referred to Evergreen Valley Optometry. I must say the entire experience was very pleasant, enjoyable, and the entire staff is very courteous and respectful. I called to make an appointment and confirm my insurance was accepted and it was. I was asked to fill out some info online and it was simple and easy. I arrived at their office and was helped immediately. I worked with Patty on all of the pre-exam tests and she was great! Her direction and instructions were clear and I appreciated how she listened and interacted with me. Dr. Mindy Trinh was great to work with as well. She took an interest in my health and eye history and the eye exam went well. If I had a question or asked to repeat one of the selections during the exam, she instantly reverted back and repeated the process. I liked the attention she provided and she made sure I understood the results and changes she made to my prescription. I worked with Alex on ordering my new frames and lenses. She was very helpful with picking out frames that fit my face. I was very pleased with what she recommended. The glasses took about two weeks to be completed and I picked them up today. I have been a patient for many years and they always make me feel like a VIP. The staff is always so warm and friendly, and Dr. Trinh is amazing! She not only takes great care of my eye health, but she always asks about my mom and how we're doing. I've been caring for my mom who has Dementia for many years, and it means a lot that Dr. Trinh remembers that and takes the time to ask about her. I've cried in Dr. Trinh's chair due to stress and anxiety, and she makes me feel comforted by simply taking a bit of time from my appointment to allow me to be open about it. read more

Just wanted to say I got a nice pair of Gucci prescription sunglasses (the insurance covered a lot!) that Mariela picked out. She also picked out my Prada glasses (I've never gotten so many compliments before!) Both frames are complementary to my face. Also I was not looking to get designer brands, these just fit my face. There was a gorgeous pair of Jimmy Choo sunglasses but I was not willing to pay at least $200 more than the Gucci sunglasses. read more

I didn't have good experience with the office staff during my first visit. Since Dr. Trinh was so sweet and she gave such a great job on my eye exam, I decided to give the front office another chance. So, I came back to get my glasses here. I was told by the girl who assisted with glasses during my first visit that I didn't need to make an appointment to get glasses. I was also told when I talked to Dr. Trinh that I could come back to get glasses anytime without appointment because I didn't need an exam. So I came back second time for my glasses around 2:10pm as a walk-in. The front desk staff told me I needed to have an appointment. I told her I had been told twice that I didn't need one since I just needed my glasses, no exam. She said the office opened late today and they were about to close for lunch. I asked whether lunch was now as it's 2:10pm, she confirmed yes and offered me a 4pm slot. I asked if I could wait, she said no. So, lessons learned: walk in anytime doesn't mean anytime during office hours, 2:10pm can be lunch time and office can be closed at that time. I'm so done with the front office. I ran out of patience for them. I love Dr. Trinh, but as a mother of two, a full-time job, running around with kid activities, I have no patience for people in customer service who have no customer service skills. read more

Dr. Trinh did a thorough job on examining my eyes. This review is for her staff. I don't think they know what they are doing. First of all, I got an eye appointment. When I came, they told me that I needed eye dialation which would cause blur vision and sensitive to light for 1-2 hours. They didn't tell me that when I made an appointment?! Now that I was in the office alone and needed to drive home, I couldn't. They didn't need to wait a moment for me to vent, they offered right away the other option was to do something and pay extra $39. I felt exploited. Blah blah blah, then after the eye exam, I was led to talk to another staff for eye glasses. Not even care to ask what I wanted nor explain options, she went straight to cost: everything had add-ons. I felt they didn't care and just wanted to talk money. Even though I like Dr. Trinh, I don't think I will come back here. The staff are terrible. Dr. Trinh needs to evaluate her staff's work, otherwise, she won't get any patients. read more

i have been coming to dr trinh since 2013 .. i can't believe i never wrote her a review! dr trinh is amazing and thorough with my exam every time i'm seen. (i have really bad eyes and more issues on top of that). it's easy to make an appointment and they are pretty flexible whenever i need to make a change. there use to be a large selection of glasses to choose from but when i went in yesterday it seemed like it dwindled down a bit. not sure if it's because of covid or if they are waiting to restock. all of her amazing assistants/front desk people are gone sadly (shoutout to isabelle and erica - you guys are definitely missed!) so she has new ones that are nice of course but you can tell they still need to work out the kinks. maybe the next time i come in, it'll be a well oiled machine. i'd recommend dr trinh to anyone looking for an optometrist and in need of a new pair of glasses! read more

My experience with them so far is good. I have been going to Evergreen Optometry for last 3 years. They have machines with latest technology through which they can test your peripheral vision, eye muscle strength, eye pressure etc. Staff is very friendly. If you have some issues then staff will try to resolve at their best capability. In certain cases however, it is good to get your issues resolved by involving Doctor Trinh also as staff may not have all the decision making power on certain matters. read more

Visited this Optometry office recently to inquire about an eye exam and new persciption glasses. When I arrived I had to ring a bell on the front door and was greeted by one female staff member. She wasn't very polite and asked "can I help you?" in a tone only to be descibed as if I were bothering her, so I mentioned I was a potentially new patient and needed an eye exam and glasses. She asked for my name and I told her and then she closed the door and locked it and said she will be right back. I waited 5min and then she came back and told me she also needed my DOB info so I gave it to her, closed the door and locked it again. Finally, after another 5min she came back and said call the office number on the front window so she can "sit down" and look for my info because she could not find it. Of course you couldn't find it I said because you didn't listen when I mentioned I was a interested in being a new patient. She then told me again to call the number on the front window. Needless to say that was not going to happen any time soon as my first impression was less than unpleasant. There are plenty of Optometry places out there folks, make sure they make you feel welcomed and not like you're doing them a favor by inquiring about your eye needs and becoming a new patient. Scheduled an appt for frame evaluation and order. Received several text confirmations and reminders to arrive by 3:50pm. Arrived on time and rang the bell and noticed that the sign on door said they would return at 4pm but the assistant answered and I told her I had an appt so she said hold on and went to talk to the doctors (who I didn't even need to see) - then came back to the door and said they were at lunch and asked if I could wait a bit. I showed her my text reminder and asked if I could wait inside since it's nearly 100degrees outside today and she said "can you just wait a while"? I was shocked they wouldn't just invite me inside to wait so I told her no thanks and to just cancel my appt. no sooner I got in my car and drove away my phone rang and she said "our lunch is over now you can come back". I really enjoy taking my daughter here! The entire office is extremely friendly. They are always willing to answer any questions I may have. The staff helped my 7yo pick out frames for her picky taste. Also to make sure they will grow and not cost us more down the road. She was very nice to look up what colors they come in, and sizes. Looking outside the box of the 'children' frames and we found a great pair of frames that was covered by our insurance and fancy enough for the cutie :) My daughters previous glasses had come lose from her sisters' doing, and I brought them in w/o calling. They fixed them on the spot! I also love that the office seems to be very kid friendly. With plenty of children magazines, and toys. I have 3 children all together and we usually travel as a tribe! So, this makes the visit very easy. They never seem to mind when I have them. It's excellent! This year I am need of a check up for contacts and today while I was there, I booked my appointment. Grrr... it's so frustrating to have to write this review but it must be done. For a few months before my appointment (that was supposed to be today) I considered going elsewhere to get a second opinion on my prescription for my toric lenses but decided against it. So I get a voice message the night before my appointment from "Tanya" saying they think I don't have insurance because the coverage from my parents expired when I turned 23, so they canceled my appointment for the following day. First off, my parents' coverage expired when I turned 22 and this appointment's been scheduled since last year and you're JUST now telling me this?! You ask patients to give 24 hour notice yet you didn't. And how do you know I don't plan on paying cash for your services? Needless to say I was upset about the whole situation. I initially planned to go on with the appointment after informing them that I do indeed have coverage but I'm taking my services elsewhere- even though I've been with Dr. Levingston since I was "yay high". Anyone got any recommendations? ETA: this review is old but worth updating- Dr. Levingston personally called me after finding out about the mishap. She offered to give me a 6 month supply of contacts since I already had my eye appointment elsewhere.
