[Update] We gave 1 star (actually 0 star if I can) review for the customer service, now I start to question the honesty of the staff involved and the owner. The owner's reply trying to demean our HONEST review by tweaking the truth. I start to think other good reviews of this company are manipulated.We will lay out the truth as below: Fact 1: The installation appointment is scheduled Friday before 4:00 pm. The appointment is set via a phone call, and I have that scheduled in my calendar immediately. They probably made a mistake verbally and then forgot about that showing how careless they are setting up the appointment. Fact 2: We patiently wait even when they passed the schedule appointment deadline 4:00 pm. Until 4:30 pm., I received a phone call from them, in the phone call they were apologizing that the installation got delayed, have to push to the end of the day till 6:00 pm. We've been very understandable and told the lady on the phone that it's okay, we will wait. Fact 3: Because of the schedule changes, my wife waited till 5:45 pm. But have to go picking up daughter from day care. She told me to watch phone calls closely if they showed up, probably having them to wait for maximum 10 mins. Fact 4: I received a phone call 5:58, picked up immediately and they already hung up by only ring once. I immediately called back 4 times by 6:00 pm and hang up by the installer 3 times but the last one went through but no one speaking only engine sound. I figured they intentionally avoid my phone call and are leaving now. I asked my wife to call them as well, hang up by them as well. Fact 5: We have motion sensor surveillance at our house and we know EXACTLY how long your installer stayed and what they did. We wait for 6 hours and they left within 5 mins and intentionally avoid our phone calls, that's very sneaky. Now the owner is blaming both me and my wife's phone signal have issue, this is very dishonest. Fact 6: My wife called on Monday to provide the honest feedback with all the proof, account manager denied everything and refused to apologize. We want to reschedule and they want to charge you a cancellation fee because they installer avoid the installation job. That's ridiculous. My wife told Allie on the phone call clearly, we will leave reviews and letting others know how poorly we've been treated, Allied responded: Go Ahead! Fact 7: Damian John works with Albert Lee Appliance, that's why they have many "default" customers. We provide the same feedback to our Albert Lee sales representatives, but we are "tied" with Damian John because otherwise we need to redo the paperwork and wait a long time for the appliance to be installed. So we decided to pay the trip and cancellation fee and reschedule with them. They assign us with the same installer which we feel very uncomfortable. Again, the whole process, NO single apology and blame all the fault to us. We told Albert Lee sales representative and Allie clearly, no matter what, we will leave the review letting the public to know the truth. Fact 8: After the review, they THREATENED us either delete the review or they will cancel the appointment. Although we have two toddlers and rely on the double ovens to be able to heat the food easily. We DONT accept this BULLY. We denied deleting the review because it is AGAINST Yelps policy and we canceled the reschedule because we feel very disgusting dealing with this company. Damian John may have "thousands" of customers because they are default installer for Albert Lee. I don't know how many customers/families have similar experience but I want to share the truth with the public. I am sure a company won't last by tweaking the truth and bully customers. A Facebook page campaign will also be created to let the truth out. I will encourage any customers have encountered similar experience go join us to spread the words out. read more

Use Damian John Construction only if you want to spend an exorbitant amount of money! Those who wrote previous reviews had one appliance to install, so their reviews make sense. But I had 3 appliances to install, already delivered by Albert Lea, so they were sitting in the kitchen when the 2 men from Damian John arrived. They told me it would be $130 for the stove, $150 for the microwave, and $150 for the dishwasher. Wow. I was at a disadvantage because someone was driving a long way to pick up the old appliances and I needed the new ones installed that day. So I said ok, under duress. They had had to make one trip to my condo and one trip up the elevator with some tools--and already it was $430. It seems reasonable that if they make a trip to a house and haul up tools to install one appliance, installation could cost $150. But one trip to install 3 appliances should be pro-rated to be fair. The old microwave was removed and the new one installed in about 15 minutes. The old dishwasher was removed and the new one installed in about 30 minutes. Granted, the stove had some issues. They flipped off the power and changed the outlet from 220 to 110. They said that new stoves are a bit wider than old ones, and they almost never go to a place that allows them to just slide a new one in. They said they always have to cut a bit to widen the space--it's routine. So they ground a bit of granite on both sides. They slid the new stove in and were finished. For all three appliances, it took a grand total of 1 hour and 30 minutes. They arrived at 1:00 pm and left before 3:30. And the total bill was a whopping $755.55 with tax. I was totally dismayed.That's beyond exorbitant. Find ANY company but these guys. They must laugh all the way to the bank. read more

The short version is that I am RIDICULOUSLY PLEASED with the install that Jason and Jeremy did for my new stove. Five stars is a no-brainer. They were careful, friendly, and capable. The longer version: I did not notice until the night before the installation was to occur that I did not have the proper setup for my new stove. I called the Damian John office after they had closed the night before and left a message (I also called the morning of the install) and canceled my appointment. I was on my way to Home Depot to pick up various supplies needed for a day full of work (I was not looking forward to this). While en route, I received a call from the office saying that the guys were already at my door (which was well within the time window that had been indicated) and would like to take a look at the situation since they were already there. With just one look, Jason said that he could resolve the problem with little effort. Jason was very informative regarding my new stove. He took care to explain to me how some components get very hot and the precautions I should take. He gave me some tips on routine maintenance and pointed out several of the stove's features. The guys took great care to keep my old and new appliances and my kitchen undamaged. I am incredibly appreciative of the fact that they took the extra time to come and check on the situation instead of just driving away. Their effort saved me what would've easily been an entire day to complete. The only thing that slightly disappointed me was the fact they didn't tell me my fly was open; I discovered that on my own, minutes after they left. Thanks for your great work guys read more

Damian John installed our new Jenn-Air cook top on July 3, 2020. Of the total 8 appliances we have purchased over the past 20 years, this was far and away the VERY BEST, MOST PROFESSIONAL AND HIGHLY COMPETENT installation we have ever enjoyed. The 3 technicians who did the job really know what they are doing! In addition, they took the time to answer all of our questions, and paid attention to every detail that included dealing with some non-standard old ducting. They worked quite efficiently and took great care in unpacking the cook top and in removing the old one. Even their truck is a joy to see! It's large, clean, shiny white with great graphics. Not only will we benefit from the great features of this cook top, we will have fond memories of its smooth and classy installation for a long time to come. I had my Custom Viking Fridge die and purchased a Liebherr built in. I set the appointment with Theresa at Damian Johns's office. They were to come out in the morning to remove the old unit and prep the house for the delivery of the Liebherr. The Lieberr was slated for delivery in the afternoon and Damian John was returning to finish the job. This sounded like it could be a cluster! Not at all! I was called first thing in the morning of the appointment that they were on the way and arrived right on time. My hardwood floors were covered and protected and the old fridge was removed. The fridge was delivered right when the crew showed back up and the installation completed! Clean, professional, friendly crew. Both Eric and Jason were excellent. I am not able to come up with enough glowing terms to describe this company! From the original phone call, to the estimate to the work being completed, they earn the highest marks. Eric and Ryan showed up on time, took extra care not to damage or scratch anything as they prepared to do the finish work on our dining room floors. They took the time to answer all of our questions and even accommodated us when we asked for a change half way thru. This was our second job with them and we will definitely be calling on them again. I simply cannot imagine ever needing to use another installation/construction company. They are true professionals from start to finish and I would highly recommend them to anyone. This is the third time we have used Damian John for an appliance installation into our 1912 bungalow kitchen. This time it was to replace a dead wall oven. Your crew is exceptional (and very rare) in their knowledge of carpentry, and in appliances. They found that my wall oven had only originally been put into the cabinet with little blocks to support it ten years ago, and it was a miracle of god it hadn't fallen through the floor. Last time, they modified our old 1912 non-modular cabinets to install a dishwasher, and flawlessly expanded another newer cabinet over the stove to allow installation of a microwave that was larger than the one put in ten years ago. Fantastic company, with top-notch installers. Every visit, they were prompt, professional, and courteous. The installers we worked with were very experienced, and did an excellent job. Across several appointments, they arrived exactly when they said they would, and even worked with us to find earlier installation times, as our trade schedules flexed. On the final visit, one of their lead installers came, and went through everything they had done, making small adjustments and improvements. We're thrilled with their work. This was a very quick, efficient and professional installation. I was happy I did not have to deal with the disposal of the old microwave. I was facing surgery the next week and did not need to have to deal with that. Judd & Black is to be commended for using this business for their installations. The same day I purchased my microwave I was called to have the installation scheduled. They arrived on time, before the scheduled time actually, and were there and gone before I knew it. The young men who came to install our new microwave were on time, spoke professionally and were appropriately groomed. They did not smell of cigarettes like most installers & delivery folks do. Another thing I really appreciated is that they could have used the prior bracket from the old microwave (since they were the same size), but they used all the new parts & even completed a step (additional bolts for security) that were missed by prior installer. Only negative was lack of dust cleanup. read more

Two employees arrived on time as previously agreed on. One went right to work disconnecting the old dryer and both removed it from my home. The new dryer was carefully carried into my home taking care not to mar the flooring. The new dryer was connected using new parts for the dryer outlet, water inlet for steam, and gas inlet. Lastly the dryer was leveled and cleanup completed within an hour of arrival. Throughout the work both employees were friendly and kept busy. read more

Two installers arrived on time and had the job (over-the-range microwave installation) finished within 45 minutes, despite it being a bit of a challenge due to a poor quality original installation. Ryan Ira and his assistant Dustin installed a wall oven I purchased from Judd and Black. They were on time, prepared, and very professional. Of course, the oven did not quite fit and adjustments needed to be made. I was very worried, but they assured me they would make it work. And they did without any complaints or fuss.
