I can't say enough good things about this restaurant, Jason the owner, and the entire staff. When…read moreour family was planning my nephew's celebration of life, they were kind enough to close the restaurant so we could gather privately, and it meant so much to all of us. This was my nephew's favorite spot, so it felt especially meaningful to be able to honor him there. As a Korean family, sharing Korean BBQ and hot pot together felt very fitting. The food was delicious --fresh, high-quality meats and vegetables, rich and flavorful hot pot broths, and a great selection of soju. The sauce station was also a highlight and really elevated the meal. Everything tasted authentic and thoughtfully prepared. They even offered chicken nuggets and fries for the kids, which is such a considerate touch. So many of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the food. What we will remember most, though, is the compassion and kindness shown by Jason and the staff. They created a warm, welcoming space during an incredibly difficult time and made it easier for our family to come together, share memories, and celebrate my nephew! We are truly grateful for everything they did and would highly recommend this restaurant--not only for the excellent food, but especially for the people and the care they show their guests.

This was my first time trying this style of dining where you cook the meat at your table, so I was really excited going in. Unfortunately, the food was not good at all. Several of the meats we were served did not seem fresh, and the overall quality was very disappointing. Instead of enjoying the experience, I found it unappetizing and honestly couldn't wait to leave. I know everyone has different tastes, but based on my experience, I would not return or recommend it. I was expecting a fun and memorable meal after such a special occasion, but it ended up being one of the worst dining experiences I've had.

I went for lunch on a Tuesday. It wasn't packed, but had at a few people being served. My waitress was very nice and very quick. I ordered Mul-mandu which are steamed beef, pork and vegetable dumplings. They were extremely good and plentiful. I also ordered Dolsot Bibim Bob which is a hot stone pot rice with egg, meat, noodles and veggies and spicy sauce. It was also pretty good and very filling. With your food, you also get 6 side dishes to complement your food. To end it all, they offer you a cold ginger tea that hit the spot! The food was very affordable and I will be visiting again soon to try out other menu items.

Finally, excellent Korean food in the Northeast. Unlike the west coast, Korean is NOT everywhere…read morearound here. The restaurant is small and cozy. Very sparsely decorated but in a good way. The menu isn't extensive and covers the basics Korean-wise. Lovey and I opted for Udon noodles in fish broth and pork bulgogi, extra spicy. The chef obliged vis a vis spice - it was spot on . Our server asked if we like kimchi and when I said "ohhh, yes" brought out one and then later as second dish of the fermented goodness. Reminded me very much of my own, funnily enough. So of course I liked it. The bulgogi was very well done. Nicely bbq'ed but not charred. And the Udon soup was fun. I kept grabbing noodles from Lovey's bowl with my chop sticks and slurping them down. The bill was $70 (with 20% tip) so certainly not inexpensive. But for someone who was craving some real Korean cookin' it was well worth it.

Have tried many of the Korean restaurants in Allston and this, K Restaurant, seems to outrank them all! As for service -- indeed you pay first, but was a bit confused about the server/front desk who pretty much tell you to order before seated (choosing your own table), take your order, serve you with all the food, etc -- literally she handles all the customer service stuff -- wondering why she did not appear at pleasant or smile at all. Don't get me wrong, fully aware of wide range of personalities -- some appear more excited and enthusiastic than others others -- even without the the usual tipping at the end, and especially with the tipping at the end. Here, of course you pay -- and finalize your tip or no time before being served with your food, but still the server did not appear to greet or show those standard pleasantries expected all common in America ... She wasn't rude or anything. It just seems like she's not happy being there. Any event, just some thoughts here. Would definitely be back. And do recommend this place to others who want delicious meal but just note the above.
