We just made another trip to Damgeuda and the food was once again exceptional. This time we had the bibim bap, gyeranjjim (steamed egg custard with fennel kimchi) and sesame carrot cake. All were delicious. Last time we also had the house soft tofu with chili (my fave!), burdock chai, and eggplant banchan. The food is mostly modern Korean with some fusion twists. A nice difference if you like Korean food but want something new. This is counter ordering (or table if you choose) but they bring it to the table and are very attentive. Probably the snazziest most interesting food you'll find anywhere you can order at the counter. The restaurant is bright with a nice window view of Washington St. It has kind of a basic clean look and feel. Parking is on the street and was easy.

Last weekend's take on kimbap with bulgogi. Napa kimchi and eggplant pickles for the Bonchon. Corn tea. So freaking good.

This place is trying to provide something unique and memorable for downtown Haverhill. The amount of care the owners put into their menus is evident in the food's presentation, quality, and flavor. Their creative take on fusing traditional Korean and comfort food dishes is truly unique for the area. I sincerely hope people can overcome a regional unfamiliarity with Korean food and open themselves to trying something new, and frankly, fantastic. The mains, the banchan (sides), the cocktails -- it's all good. Try it; you won't be disappointed!

The mugwort semifreddo. It's unlike anything you've ever tasted in your life.

This was the most spiritually satisfying dining experience I may have ever had. The menu reads like your favorite album with each dish guiding you into the next. The food is so fresh, so delicately herbaceous and still every bite is more complex than the last. We scraped every plate clean. For true food aficionados and for anyone looking for a positive new dining experience, this is truly worth the pilgrimage.

A great small restaurant! Beautifully balanced flavors executed with care and excellence! My party of 2 had a great time! We ordered the Gochujang Caesar, Glazed Potatoes with Chicken Skin, and Chicken Mandu. All were home runs. Lovely balances of sweet, spicy, and savory all around. After we finished our ordered plates we were offered complimentary Lemon Preserve Turnips and Barley Tea which really was just the cherry on top of the night. This is a small business that deserves your business.

I found this place through Yelp and decided to come here for lunch after seeing the photos of the…read moreramen. It's relatively small (only about ten seats) and at the time, only two people were working. It took a little bit for the food to come out (my dad was able to go order a coffee at Coffee Break Cafe next door and bring it back before our orders came out) but the portions were perfect for our lunch and my dad really enjoyed his! The noodles are dropped off on the bar for you to pick up and you grab your own chopsticks as well. We ordered the Chili Ramen (tonkotsu with chili oil on top) and the Shoyu Ramen, both with pork as the protein. The cook on the egg was great (nice and gooey in the center and the white was nice and soft) but it was a little cold and lacked flavor (could've been marinated for longer?). The pork was a nice cut of meat but despite being blowtorched it was a little chewy and lacked a bit of flavor also. The lack of marination on these toppings was helped by the fact that the broth was great and flavorful and if you ate them with the broth and noodles, it was satisfying! I think the broth was the best part; I tried both of them and enjoyed drinking the broth by itself even without eating the noodles with it. Overall, I thought the ramen was OK (the soup was the best part!) but for the price and portion I think this is a nice place to stop by for lunch! My dad enjoyed it a lot and was impressed by the authenticity for an American establishment.

Have tried many of the Korean restaurants in Allston and this, K Restaurant, seems to outrank them all! As for service -- indeed you pay first, but was a bit confused about the server/front desk who pretty much tell you to order before seated (choosing your own table), take your order, serve you with all the food, etc -- literally she handles all the customer service stuff -- wondering why she did not appear at pleasant or smile at all. Don't get me wrong, fully aware of wide range of personalities -- some appear more excited and enthusiastic than others others -- even without the the usual tipping at the end, and especially with the tipping at the end. Here, of course you pay -- and finalize your tip or no time before being served with your food, but still the server did not appear to greet or show those standard pleasantries expected all common in America ... She wasn't rude or anything. It just seems like she's not happy being there. Any event, just some thoughts here. Would definitely be back. And do recommend this place to others who want delicious meal but just note the above.

Along with the sweet potato corn dog, we also got sweet chili bites and the ribbon fries and toppings. The service was fairly quick as we came after the lunch rush. The sweet potato on and breading was crispy and sweet from the sugar. The sweet chili chicken bites came with tebokki and we're crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. My favorite were the crispy ribbon fries, but they were definitely on the oily side. The eel and kimchi were great toppings that added different flavor profile to the dish. Overall, a great pick from the food court.

The atmosphere is upscale yet welcoming--modern decor, lively vibe without being overwhelmingly loud The staff was super attentive and friendly from the moment we walked in, making great recommendations. We started with the salt & pepper calamari and some dumplings--both were fresh, perfectly crispy, and packed with flavor. For mains, the fried rice was spot-on (flavorful and not greasy at all), and the torched tuna with truffle butter sauce was absolutely divine--such a creative fusion twist! The sushi options looked incredible too, and everything came out hot and beautifully presented. Portions are generous, and the quality really stands out compared to other places nearby. Drinks were solid as well if you're into cocktails. We'll definitely be back--it's become our go-to for date nights or when we crave something a little special. Highly recommend Karma if you're in the Andover area.
