Delivious korean food. All made fresh to order. Kimchi soup was the best I have ever had. Definitely coming back.

Delicious food. The kimchi soup was amazing. Probably the best I've ever had. I love that they had hot water and cold water in a dispenser. All food was made fresh to order.

Small, local place with big Korean flavors! Carlos/Charles was super nice! I kept ordering food and he was like "I told you it was a lot". He laughed every time he brought another dish of. Lol! He was great! I got so much that I thought I was easily going to have $90-$100 dollar bill. I was shocked when my bill was led than $60. This was a great find and will definitely return for more

    Japchae & bulgogi kimbap

So we had not eaten much Korean food before but after this we definitely will! The ladies running the restaurant were super helpful and attentive. We had the Japchae, bulgogi Kimball, bulgogi deobap &the grilled pork bulgogi bowl. The grilled pork bowl had the perfect level of smokiness from being grilled amd everything was super delicious! Highly recommend!

We tried to go here before but got there too late. We tried again and was glad we did. We ordered mandu, tteokboki, chicken katsu, and Kim bap. They were all SO VERY tasty. My favorite was the chicken katsu and kimbap. Service was efficient and friendly. A pitcher of water was brought to our table with two cups and the pitcher was refilled when emptied. Food came out quick. Service was friendly. We parked in the parking lot of the plaza. There were plenty of parking right in front. We even took a mini stroll to the other side of the plaza for boba after eating. Recommend!

I had spam gimbap and fried dumplings and my buddy had the dumpling soup. Delish

My friend and I came here for lunch on a Saturday! What a pleasant discovery! I've had it on my to go list for a long time and finally went. We got the grilled rice bowls. Omg! It was so good! I got the grilled pork shoulder steak bowl and my friend got the grilled pork bulgogi bowl. The pork shoulder was thick cut and juicy with sauces drizzled over it. The grilled pork bulgogi was already marinated meat. I think we both agreed the pork shoulder was the better bowl. Our bowls came with sides of kimchi and radish. Also got a spam and bulgogi gimbap to go. They were good! A little more expensive than most places for the gimbap. But the rice bowls were good prices.

Great, cheap food with very friendly service by the owner herself! This place is another true hole in the wall, owned and run by the sweetest Korean lady. The outside is not much to look at. The name can be a bit misleading (sounds kinda Spanish), but the food is truly authentic and super affordable. They are known for the delicious gimbap, ranging only $3-$4 each. You can easily get full with 1, or 2 to be completely satisfied ;). Unlike gimbap that you can get from many other places, here they're not packed with bunch of rice. The ingredients are fresh and well seasoned so everything has better flavor. Originally I came here for the popular gimbap, but after looking at the rest of the menu, I couldn't help but order the Grilled Pork Belly with Rice. It's a huge portion with a side salad and fried egg for only $10. You really can't go wrong with this great deal. It's a fairly small restaurant and run mainly by the owner, who's also the cashier. The service might take a little bit of time, so if you're in a rush, just call first to place your order. Gimbap is also great for to go!

Before I post a review, I always like to try a place three times just so I can get a really good feel for a restaurant at different times of the day, the week, and the consistency of the food. I always want to be fair and honest about how I feel before writing any type of opinion that could potentially affect a person's business. I have lost count the number of times I've been here. I have tried every thing on the menu at least once and I must say that it always hits. When I'm sick I get the pork soup and I feel like I'm being healed from the inside out. The bulgogi gimbap is always fresh and it can't be beat for a quick meal. The pajeon is crispy and hot every time. You see all kinds of customers here and that says a lot about how great the food is. Although it's a smaller space, we've always been able to get seated quickly. The service is always quick and even when it's packed they do their best to get you in and out. Hi

Cute, cozy space and yummy Korean comfort food. We ordered tteokbokki (spicy rice cake), scallion pancake, and tuna kimbap. The tteokbokki was a smaller portion than expected, but it was excellent, and at the end of the meal just enough for two people. Scallion pancakes were super flavorful and the kimbap was great too (it was my friend's first time trying!). The owner is very sweet.

Came by on Saturday for lunch and it wasn't too busy - was able to get a table pretty easy. The interior is quaint with wooden tables and feels very orderly and clean! I ordered the Bulgogi Gimbap and the Rice & Pork soup. Starting with the gimbap, it's really solid value! At $5 the interior ingredients are delicious and pair well. For the soup, the broth is sooooo savory, meaty, and hearty. The portion of pork given is generous, and I could really go for this soup any day. Service was nice and polite - glad I was able to come in and try! :) PROS: - solid value options (single digits for many menu items) - gimbap is flavorful, as was the pork and rice soup; very savory - interior is quaint and well organized - polite and friendly service CONS: - none!

I do think prices were slightly on the higher end and service was a little slow, but again, given the circumstances, I personally did not mind. There is an impressive selection of banchan that could almost be a full meal in itself. They were all very fresh and high quality. I ordered the galbi and spicy cold noodles. The galbi came on a sizzling plate. It was tender and flavorful. However, it was expensive, at almost the same price of dinner AYCE KBBQ. I personally wasn't the biggest fan of the spicy cold noodles, not because it was bad, but more so due to personal preference. The portion size was very generous though. My family ordered the shrimp fried rice and bulgogi quesadilla. The fried rice was very solid; it had good flavor, texture, and they nailed the portion of vegetables, protein, and rice. The bulgogi quesadilla was also delicious and I appreciate the creativity. The combination of bulgogi, japchae, and cheese might sound sacrilegious to some, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

When I walked in, the place was empty. I stood at the "Please wait to be seated" sign for way longer than necessary--especially since there were no other customers. I finally peeked in and saw two employees busy counting receipts and money at the register. (Bad Impression #1). After being seated, I was actually enjoying the music until I felt something sticky on my forearm. It was a stray bean sprout left on the table (Bad Impression #2). To make matters worse, the tables are incredibly low. Even at my height, I had to hunch over the entire time. I eventually gave up on table manners and just held the rice bowl up to my face to eat comfortably. Regarding the food: it was a bit salty. The kimchi fried rice was average, but the kimchi stew really missed the mark. That was the moment I realized this is a fusion spot, not authentic Korean. It wasn't horrible, but it's definitely different from the real thing. BUT, can we talk about the massive portions? (Good Impression #1). Everything is clearly meant to be shared. The service was actually good. They have a buzzer on the table for service, which I loved. It saves you from having to track down a waiter. (Good Impression #2). The ambiance is loud, poppy, and "hip." You better like K-pop if you're coming here. It's not a first-date spot because it's hard to hear each other, but it's a solid place to hang out with friends who like the genre. Will I come back? Not actively. But if someone else suggests it, I won't fight them on it.

The restaurant shines with its premium, high-quality meats--sourced thoughtfully, including standout options from 44 Farms--carefully selected and prepared by Michelin-recognized chefs. Whether you go for the popular Taste of JOA (Signature or Premier boards) or individual cuts, the beef and pork options consistently impress with rich marination, perfect tenderness, and that satisfying sizzle on the grill. Popular favorites that reviewers rave about include the marinated bone-in short rib (galbi), prime short rib, ribeye, hanger steak, pork belly, and specialties like flash-fried short ribs or shrimp. The meats arrive beautifully presented, cook evenly at the table, and deliver deep, savory flavors--often described as juicy, flavorful, and reminiscent of authentic home-style Korean cooking elevated with premium technique. Sides (banchan) are a highlight: fresh, generous, and "unreal" according to many, with standouts like mushrooms, Brussels sprouts, steamed egg soufflé, corn cheese, kimchi fried rice, and soybean paste stew (doenjang jjigae) that round out the meal perfectly. The experience wraps up sweetly with ice cream for a complete, shareable feast ideal for groups or celebrations. The atmosphere enhances everything: lively, stylish, and vibrant with a sleek, modern interior featuring neon accents that feels fun and energetic without being overwhelming--perfect for date nights, family gatherings, or special occasions. Service earns frequent praise for being attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, with staff guiding first-timers through the grilling process. Cocktails and drink towers add to the festive vibe, pairing beautifully with the smoky, savory food. Nuances and considerations: Pricing reflects the premium ingredients and experience (Taste of JOA runs around $42-$54+ per person, with upgrades for A5 Wagyu or larger parties), so value opinions vary--some see it as worth every penny for the quality and fun interactive element, while others note it can feel a bit higher-end for casual dining. A few reviews mention occasional inconsistencies in service pacing during busy times or subtle variations in ambiance depending on the crowd, but the majority describe it as consistently enjoyable and welcoming. Portions work best when shared, and the interactive grilling adds a social, hands-on layer that many love (bring a group to maximize the fun). Note that as of recent updates, the restaurant has been temporarily closed--check their website, social media, or call ahead for current status before planning your visit. Overall, JOA Grill excels at blending tradition with innovation: fire-kissed premium cuts, abundant flavorful sides, creative cocktails, and a lively yet comfortable setting make it a standout choice for anyone craving high-quality Korean BBQ in Dallas. It's frequently called one of the best in the city for good reason--great for meat lovers, groups, and those seeking an elevated yet fun dining adventure.

Took me a while to write this, but I came back here because I had a good dinner here and decided to…read moredo a Korean bbq closer to my home. We were even greeted with a welcome back and given a welcome back coupon, which I loved, so the night started out well. Now for context to my frustration, last time we went here, our server cooked everything, so we only came back because we wanted to go to a Korean bbq specifically where they cooked the meat for you as well. Apparently, that isn't the norm. We ordered drinks and then waited a substantial amount of time before the servers came back to ask for our food order. Literally the table next to us ordered before us and we're basically near the end of their meal before we even ordered. Mind you, we were seated right in the thick of where the servers go in and out of the kitchen and you can see everything going on (or lack of anything). Drinks took forever to come and they started cooking one of the meats and then never came back. They kept walking past our table and not saying anything. We had to tell them that we needed help and asked if someone was going to cook for us. They apologized and would start cooking again only when we complained, but then would proceed to leave and not come back until we asked again. They kept giving us excuses that they were short staffed, which is understandable, but not when we can see them literally doing nothing about it. There was no sense of urgency or trying to work harder since they were understaffed. They would stand at the little computer at the door to the kitchen looking like they were doing something, while the rest of the restaurant was being ignored. We mentioned to them multiple times that we were being ignored and they offered to take care of us with dessert or maybe comp something at the end. At this point, I'm quiet because I'm visibly annoyed by the incompetence and got to the point where I didn't even want to talk to the staff anymore. I kinda have RBF, so I know they were feeling my frustration. We were almost done eating and were waiting for them to start cooking the shrimp, which was the last meat on our combo, and the server came by and asked if we wanted the check. I was like, "we aren't even done eating, we were waiting for someone to cook the shrimp." Now if they initially told us that we would be cooking, this all wouldn't be a problem, but we were under the impression that they would cook our food, which was the root of the entire service problem we were having. Finally, they came by with desserts that were on the house, even though I really wanted them to just comp something instead, but they didn't give us the option. We didn't even want dessert, but were forced to eat it because they felt it was a good solution to the problems with service. They even asked if we wanted a shot on the house, but I didn't want to drink alcohol that night, and when I refused, they teased me about it. It's my business if I want to drink or not, but don't assume everyone thinks alcohol solves everything. That left a sour note in my mind and sealed the deal that we won't come back. For how expensive this restaurant is, they need to have top tier service, and this was not it. I suggest you stay away!
