This is one of my go-to Korean restaurants in Dallas. Their homecooked style food is amazing. Although I don't recommend their fried gimbap (personal preference not a big fan of fried stuff, gimbap taste good as it is), everything else is pretty solid. We tried to go here before but got there too late. We tried again and was glad we did. We ordered mandu, tteokboki, chicken katsu, and Kim bap. They were all SO VERY tasty. My favorite was the chicken katsu and kimbap. Service was efficient and friendly. A pitcher of water was brought to our table with two cups and the pitcher was refilled when emptied. Food came out quick. Service was friendly. We parked in the parking lot of the plaza. There were plenty of parking right in front. My family and I got takeout of the following, and everything was truly delicious. - Fried Mandoo (Dumplings) - Steamed Mandoo - Tteokbokki - Spicy Tuna Kimbap - Jjolmyun (spicy mixed noodle) & Chicken Katsu combo I'm ALWAYS impressed when restaurants make their own mandoo in-house (especially when it's not their specialty), and their is truly divine. I can confidently say that they're competing with restaurants that specialize in mandoos--it's that good! Tteokbokki is true to the street style I grew up on. Kimbap is packed with ingredients, although I found the tuna made it a tad on the drier side. Jjolmyun was great, even though we didn't eat it onsite. Great, cheap food with very friendly service by the owner herself! This place is another true hole in the wall, owned and run by the sweetest Korean lady. The outside is not much to look at. The name can be a bit misleading (sounds kinda Spanish), but the food is truly authentic and super affordable. They are known for the delicious gimbap, ranging only $3-$4 each. You can easily get full with 1, or 2 to be completely satisfied ;). Unlike gimbap that you can get from many other places, here they're not packed with bunch of rice. The ingredients are fresh and well seasoned so everything has better flavor. Originally I came here for the popular gimbap, but after looking at the rest of the menu, I couldn't help but order the Grilled Pork Belly with Rice. It's a huge portion with a side salad and fried egg for only $10. You really can't go wrong with this great deal. It's a fairly small restaurant and run mainly by the owner, who's also the cashier. This is not a swanky place, in fact it's funky and kind of quirky. For instance, one alcove makes you wonder if it's a part time child care. BUT, the FOOD! Delicious, everything is cooked as you wait. I'm gluten-free and not by choice, but lots of options that I didn't feel like I was going to be stuck eating only salad or in this case, kimchi. My husband ordered the Korean pancake, different name, and it was so fresh I stole a bite, gut health be damned. We tried only a few items as it was between lunch and later dinner plans, but everything was perfect. The service was personable and homey, very welcoming. I have tried every thing on the menu at least once and I must say that it always hits. When I'm sick I get the pork soup and I feel like I'm being healed from the inside out. This is my favorite Korean restaurant. I have never dined in this restaurant, but this is the place I always order from on UberEats. I order food from here at least once or twice a month! Their prices are reasonable for the food they offer. I always order the kimbap, their scallion pancake, and their Korean bbq rice dishes. Every item is delicious. My favorite items on the menu are definitely the kimbap. I have tried all of them--the spicy tuna, beef, spam, the regular one. You cannot go wrong with any of them! If you order an entree, they will also give you banchan. Their kimchi and pickled radish are delicious! They also have some noodle soup and soups that I haven't tried yet. Don't go to ANY restaurant post gym and after sitting at a car dealership for 2 hours. All bad... but turned out oh so good! Received my food in about 20 mins, piping hot and packaged well. By the time I got home I was ready for my own little "eating contest" as my goal was to eat half of everything. Of course, I overestimated myself lol but what I DID eat was amazing! My favorite was the spicy pork bowl. Think I would have enjoyed it even more if takeout heat hadn't cooked my egg all the way through (definitely not a complaint, just confirms the food was hot enough to cook the egg on my way home with it lol). Honestly, though it's the most recommended, my least fave was the kimbap. It was made perfectly! Plenty of ingredients inside that tasted fresh but my personal palate didn't care for the blend. I am a picky about foods, specially korean foods. I am a Korean and I can cook well too. I wanted eat ddukbbokki. we ordered ddukbbokki, kalguksu, kimmalri, spicy tuna kimbap but everything was so so to me but kimmalri was interesting and great than other foods. Usually kimmalri was only sweet potato noodle but this place kimmalri was a bit different. Foods came out so fast as fast food restaurant also hot too. I was supposed to head to Pixiu Mala Hong Tang in Carrollton, but I was not feeling mala at the very moment. So, I remember visiting Damasita when they were closed for construction on December...and remember it's January and hoping they are open back for business, I chose to come here. FOOD (TASTE 3/3, APPEARANCE 1/1, WORTH 1/1)// My parents and I had Bajirak Kalguksu (Knife Cut Noodles w/ Clams), Kaljebi (Knife Cut Noodles and Hand Pulled Dough), and Dweji Gugbab (Pork Rice Soup). I had Kaljebi and both noodles and dough were extremely chewy and well cooked. The anchovy based broth was very rich and the condiment really made the whole bowl taste even better. I had sip of other bowls. Bajirak Kalguksu will have similar comment as mine, but the clams has been well washed and cleaned out to remove any excess of sand. For Pork Rice Soup, it is very clean, yet very flavorful. The pork was very tender and loved the little veggies they give for the pork. I personally felt these were one of the best bowls/meal I had in DFW in awhile. There are many Korean restaurants opening here and there in DFW, but none are that unique or amazing compared to other locations. However, Damasita is unique in a way that they make noodles by hand.. they also offer, "over rice" options, kimbab, dumplings, and street food dishes. I heard kimbab is great too. I to-go'ed their 25 pk kimchi dumplings and it is very tasty. Fairly big in size and fresh compared to other Korean Restaurants that sell dumplings. This place is definitely a place to hit up if you love Korean food. You only need a bowl of rice and their phenomenal side dishes - do they have to explain more? I do think the food came out a slightly later than other places, but I'd give them a break on that for great bowl and for the fact that everything is hand made and made upon spot. I have only tried their bulgogi gimbap, but when I was waiting for my order everyone else's food looked delicious too. It is a very small restaurant, but it had a cute local atmosphere. When I ordered, I expected they would have the gimbap pre-made. It took some time for them to bring out my order, which showed they probably made it fresh. The ratio of rice to filling was perfect. Another good lunch spot in old ktown. I saw this while walking around in the plaza and bookmarked it to come back another day for lunch. Service and food is swift, won't take up too much time if you' are trying to find a quite bite during lunch. The prices are very compelling and the food is good. I found the Damasita storefront after grabbing a couple snacks from the 9 Rabbits bakery located in the same shopping center. All their windows were advertising korean style pancakes and dumplings which immediately pulled me in. I ordered their gimmari, pan fried mandu, and bulgogi kimbap. The gimmari came out first and these were probably my favorite things here. They were little rolls packed full of japchae (Korean stir-fried glass noodles) wrapped in seaweed and deep fried. Fresh out the fryer, these were warm and crispy with each bite filled with sweet and savory noodles. I already love japchae and after trying them wrapped in deep fried form, I just couldn't resist grabbing more off the plate! The pan fried mandu was another tasty and flavorful addition to our meal. The slightly crispy mandu wrapper gave way to a tender and juicy meat filling. The meat filling had plenty of added chives which were a bit overwhelming for some, but I personally enjoyed the intense flavors and aroma. The last item to arrive was the bulgogi kimbap, and it was so worth the wait! The roll was a hefty size, filled with sweet and salty bulgogi, some fish cake, and plenty of fresh and pickled veggies. There were just so many flavors and textures combined into one roll, and it was an instant hit at the table. It was like an entire rice bowl packaged into convenient bite sized morsels. After finishing the kimbap, some of us kept talking about how good it was and how we would definitely order it again. So we did. Right away. And the second round tasted just as delicious as the first!   We all enjoyed our time here and it was a perfect place to stop and have some snacks in the middle of the day. They have plenty of entree size meals too, which I'm sure I'll try soon. The restaurant is well lit and cozy with plenty of great art and decorations.
