From top to bottom, these guys are amazing…read more I'd received a pretty obnoxious quote for a covered patio and kitchen so did a little bit of price shopping. Of the 6 quotes I got, Jacob at Your Texas Patio blew them all away (he beat the obnoxious one by nearly $50,000 for basically the exact same project). I generally don't go for the cheapest option, but after the initial conversations he had me convinced that he knew what he was doing. So, I dove right in. As soon as they had the go ahead, work was underway. Angel led the way on the construction end and was out there every day (often including the weekends) doing everything from tearing out the side of the house to connect the structure, putting down posts, framing the roof, painting, etc. A real construction stud. In no time the project was complete and I'm extremely happy with the finished project (which beat our target date by about 2 weeks). Sure, there were some snags along the way. I had some plumbing issues that needed to be addressed (1960s house with original sewage lines), a sprinkler than was inadvertently damaged and the need to run a gas line from the other side of the house. Jacob fixed anything that needed to be fixed immediately, and if there was something outside the scope of the project he had someone out there for me to consult with on the same day (I couldn't even get my longtime plumber or audio guys out within two weeks). If I had a tweak to design or a minor addition, it was done. If I had questions on the project at 11pm after a few whiskeys or on a weekend at 7am on my way to a soccer game, it was answered. Sure, he looks like a kid, but he knows what he's doing. I'll be using them on my next projects and you probably should, too.

The price of the concrete was a fair price but I decided to go with another company because of the time frame I needed. Perhaps next project I can use this company.

Will never use MD Construction and certainly wouldn't recommend…read more I paid extra to have 6" 4000 PSI concrete poured for my drive instead of standard 4" 3000 PSI concrete, which should have been overkill, but I didn't want to have to worry about the driveway again. One thing I noticed immediately is that they brushed leaves into the top of the drive, while cement was wet, instead of removing the leaves. Subsequently, there are leaf imprints all over the new driveway (see photo of one of the many imprints). The color consistency is also bad and there is one ~3' x 2' patch up by the garage that's a completely different shade than the rest of the driveway. What really infuriates me, though, is that they didn't order enough concrete and had to get bagged cement from Home Depot to finish the job. Within three to four weeks a crack formed in the area where they mixed bagged concrete with concrete from the cement truck. When I contacted the owner about the crack, he tried to convince me it was normal. Like I'm an idiot who would believe that a brand new 6" 4000 PSI concrete drive should have cracks in it. A quick Google search will tell you that mixing sacked concrete with ready-mix concrete that comes in a cement truck will definitely cause problems. Either the owner knew this and didn't care, or he just doesn't know what he's doing. One thing I do know about concrete is that when water gets in a crack during the winter then freezes, the crack will only get bigger. Regardless, who wants a 3' long crack in their driveway? Especially right at the front of a brand new driveway, which is the first thing anyone sees when they pull up to your house. Once the owner gets your money, don't count on much if you have problems. The owner kept putting off fixing the crack by telling me how busy he is, but after contacting him several times, he finally sent someone out. The "fix" made the drive look worse and the crack is still there. Three months later and I'm still trying to get him to fix the problem. He basically told me he's doing me a favor by fixing his shoddy workmanship. How this company has so many 5 star reviews is beyond me. Unfortunately, I've discovered that positive reviews can't be trusted anymore, especially when a company has nothing but 5 star reviews. I'm not suggesting the 5 star reviews are paid for fake reviews, but I will strongly suggest that you pay attention to my review and any other reviews from people who had horrible experiences.

I made sure he understood and saw in-person what was needed and asked him if he still wanted to proceed before work started. End result was not what I had repeatedly told Eric. I had marked specific broken bricks for him and they did not get replaced. I told Eric to please match the caulking color. I asked him several times if he would have any issues doing any of these things and he repeatedly said he wouldn't. In the end I paid the full $950 for the work done.

If you need to have a concrete job done, I'd highly recommend talking to Ray at New Creation before you make a decision. I almost never leave negative reviews, but my experience with this company was frustrating enough…read morethat I feel obligated to warn others. The project was supposed to be a simple three-day job: pouring and stamping a concrete patio with a slight incline to prevent water from pooling. Unfortunately, nearly two months later, I'm left with a poorly executed patio and lots of frustration. From the beginning, communication was a major issue. The worker who showed up began prepping the concrete incorrectly--ignoring the planned curved edge and preparing it straight across. Trying to correct this was challenging, as we don't speak Spanish. The most important part of the project--the incline to direct water runoff--was completely botched. After pouring and stamping, water pooled on the patio even worse than before. We had to complain to get someone back out, and while they did pour new concrete over part of the surface to correct the slope, it was only a partial fix. Worse, they didn't bother to stamp the new section, leaving an obvious mismatch. After more back-and-forth, someone came out to stamp the concrete after it had cured, but as expected, it still doesn't match the original work--and never will. The aesthetics are completely off. Then came the resealing, which was another failure. Large white spots now cover the areas that were supposedly "fixed." The reseal looks blotchy and unprofessional. What was supposed to be a quick job has dragged on endlessly. I've had to constantly chase down updates, and even when I'm given a day that someone will come out, no one shows. It's been an exhausting and disappointing process. I've spent over $100,000 on home renovations in the last few years and worked with many contractors, but I've never felt like less of a priority than with this company. I regret not going with a different contractor, and I strongly suggest others do the same. There are too many reliable options out there to risk working with a company that delivers such inconsistent results.
