Even a few days later, when I thought of more things to ask, he was quick to respond and made sure I got the info I needed. I asked a lot of off the wall things, but he was patient and made sure I understood the explanation of different types of patios and materials. Before starting the project, he walked me through the plan and introduced me to my project manager, Luis. Luis was great, he kept me updated the whole way, even during the first week when I was out of town. I had no worries and I was able to enjoy my vacation while full on construction was going on at my home. Every crew that came out, roofing, painting, cement, told me what they were there to do and asked if I had any questions before getting started. I also have to mention Blanca in the office, every time I called, she was so friendly and easy to talk to, it was like I'd known her for years. The end result? My patio is beautiful! I was torn between putting money down on a larger home and moving, or building a patio to add square footage for gatherings. I am so happy I went with a new patio instead of the debt of a new home. I had to personally put getting any remodeling and home additions on hold while I cared for my dad for over a year. We talked about my patio dream before he passed in March. He kept telling me -"get that patio done". I'll think of him every time I'm enjoying my new space.

I found Eric Lonestar Masonry through Yelp. I have to be honest I would not recommend Eric…read more There were few repairs needed to be done which I agreed to pay $950 for. I made sure he understood and saw in-person what was needed and asked him if he still wanted to proceed before work started. Several times after agreeing on the scope of work and payment Eric seemed to want to change what was agreed on. (payment and work) Micro-managing Eric was exhausting. End result was not what I had repeatedly told Eric. I had marked specific broken bricks for him and they did not get replaced. I told Eric to please match the caulking color. I asked him several times if he would have any issues doing any of these things and he repeatedly said he wouldn't. In the end I paid the full $950 for the work done.

I hired Eric from Lone Star Masonry for a brick restoration project. Unfortunately, the experience…read morewas highly unprofessional from the outset. He failed to begin the work on time, and when he eventually did, he arrived without the necessary materials. Eric had assured me that he would personally oversee the job and work with his crew; however, there was no crew. Instead, he sent his elderly parents, who worked for only a couple of days before they all left for Mexico without any notice. Throughout the process, Eric consistently failed to show up at the times he committed to. What was originally estimated to be a 4-5 day project ended up dragging on for over a month. During that time, I had to contact Eric repeatedly--at least five to six times--to remind him that the work was still incomplete. Despite the lack of progress, he persistently pressured me for payment. Eventually, out of sheer frustration, I paid him in full, even though the job had not been completed. To make matters worse, the work site was left in a mess. My yard was cluttered with debris, and there was no proper cleanup effort. The entire job was handled in an extremely unprofessional manner and fell far short of basic expectations for quality and accountability. Mumtaz Jesani

Pros: Very…read moreresponsive to texts, quick turnaround on the work, flexible installation schedule, patio looks great, large crew that comes to do the installation Cons: Crew did not reinstall my fence gate properly. The crew had to remove my back yard fence gate in order to get materials to the back yard. I was promised that it would be reinstalled the way it was but they did a shoddy job replacing my back fence gate and now there is a larger than one inch gap between my gate and the latch. (see picture). I brought this up to Nova Roca's attention who said they would fix it but it has been over 3 weeks since we spoke and have not heard any follow-up. Also, the crew left a lot of concrete rubble in the grass that I had to take a shop vac to remove.

We had pictures of fireplaces that we liked and used those as a template for our fireplace. The timeframe he gave was good. The final product was awesome. If you are thinking about an outdoor fireplace, then talk to Antonio. Have pics of fireplaces you like in order to give him an idea-vision of what you want. P.S. The fireplace we had built has a 3-foot thick concrete foundation base and for good reason: weight. My fireplace weighs approximately 16,000 pounds. 3 - 4 inches of concrete will not support that weight.

I almost never leave negative reviews, but my experience with this company was frustrating enough…read morethat I feel obligated to warn others. The project was supposed to be a simple three-day job: pouring and stamping a concrete patio with a slight incline to prevent water from pooling. Unfortunately, nearly two months later, I'm left with a poorly executed patio and lots of frustration. From the beginning, communication was a major issue. The worker who showed up began prepping the concrete incorrectly--ignoring the planned curved edge and preparing it straight across. Trying to correct this was challenging, as we don't speak Spanish. The most important part of the project--the incline to direct water runoff--was completely botched. After pouring and stamping, water pooled on the patio even worse than before. We had to complain to get someone back out, and while they did pour new concrete over part of the surface to correct the slope, it was only a partial fix. Worse, they didn't bother to stamp the new section, leaving an obvious mismatch. After more back-and-forth, someone came out to stamp the concrete after it had cured, but as expected, it still doesn't match the original work--and never will. The aesthetics are completely off. Then came the resealing, which was another failure. Large white spots now cover the areas that were supposedly "fixed." The reseal looks blotchy and unprofessional. What was supposed to be a quick job has dragged on endlessly. I've had to constantly chase down updates, and even when I'm given a day that someone will come out, no one shows. It's been an exhausting and disappointing process. I've spent over $100,000 on home renovations in the last few years and worked with many contractors, but I've never felt like less of a priority than with this company. I regret not going with a different contractor, and I strongly suggest others do the same. There are too many reliable options out there to risk working with a company that delivers such inconsistent results.
