The Dallas Stars are OK. Since the Stars joined the NHL in 1967, its all-time points percentage falls in the middle of the league's 31 active franchises. The Stars have won the Stanley Cup (1999), but 19 other active teams have also accomplished that feat at least once. The Stars' history is an interesting one. Longtime NHL fans know the 1967 expansion doubled the league's size from the Original Six teams to 12 teams. The Stars were one of the six expansion teams that year. Back then, they were known as the Minnesota North Stars. The California Seals, later known as the Oakland Seals, were another expansion team that year. The Seals moved to Cleveland and became the Cleveland Barons in 1976. The Barons then merged into the North Stars in 1978. The North Stars moved to Dallas, dropped "North" from its name, and became the Dallas Stars in 1993. Effectively, two of the first six expansion teams are what we know today as the Stars. In 1999, Dallas defeated Edmonton, 4-0, in the Western Conference Quarterfinals; St. Louis, 4-2, in the Western Conference Semifinals; Colorado, 4-3, in the Western Conference Finals; and Buffalo, 4-2, in the Stanley Cup Finals. Center Joe Nieuwendyk was named Stanley Cup MVP. Nieuwendyk, right-winger Brett Hull, goalie Ed Belfour, and center Mike Modano were teammates on that 1999 championship team. All four of those players have since been inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. Modano, who was the franchise's No. 1 overall pick in 1988, played all six games of the Stanley Cup Finals in 1999 despite suffering a hairline fracture of his left wrist in Game 2. Game 6 was a classic. It went into three overtimes and resulted in one of the most controversial game-winning goals in Stanley Cup Finals history. "No Goal?" You be the judge: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUR_yE3iDNQ. The Stars have returned to the Stanley Cup Finals two times since 1999. In 2000, Dallas lost, 4-2, to the New Jersey Devils. In 2020, they lost, 4-2 again, to the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Stars have had three different home arenas since 1967. Since the building's opening in 2001, the Stars and the NBA's Dallas Mavericks have played in the American Airlines Center (AAC) in downtown Dallas. For hockey, AAC has a seating capacity of 18,532. Unlike many major pro sports venues across America, AAC has never had a name change. American Airlines has always held the facility's naming rights.

Hockey greatness! Great entertainment for the whole family! The Stars are a top team again and have tweaked the venue to make it entertaining for the whole family and not just the true hockey fans! The great things are the audio visual displays, the lighting, the special effects, the grand team introductions and entrance, the Ice Girls, the Zamboni wraps, the flying blimp dropping coupons, the many varied food and drink selections, the raffle, clean and inviting restrooms and great seating! The area staff are all exceptionally helpful, caring and friendly! My middle son had tickets and took us along with his almost 2 year old daughter. The youngster had a total blast at the game! She enjoyed yelling and clapping with the crowd even if she had no idea of why and was never bored. A few in the group wasn't interested in the game but enjoyed the crowd video moments be it kids or us oldsters dancing and having fun! The food was fantastic as we all got something different that we enjoyed. This was an exhibition game and the regulars didn't play much but is was fun watching the Stars youngsters put all they had into the game as they tried to make the team. It wasn't a high scoring game and the Stars spent a lot of time on defense. Looks like I now know who I can take with me for future games and my youngest granddaughter will be there with me! FYI, parking is readily available if you don't want to take DART rail or bus or Uber.

The Dallas Stars are a professional Sports Ice hockey team who play in the Western Conference in the Central division based in Dallas, TX and are apart of the National Hockey League NHL. They Moved from Minnesota to Dallas in 1993 and since then I have been there biggest fan! Hockey blew up in Dallas and everywhere you go basically you will see Victory Green! The Stars are Stanley Cup champions who won in 1999 against the Buffalo Sabres. The Stars are a very competitive team who are good at it and it shows on the ice. If you attend a Stars game get ready for loads of fun! The game has 3 twenty minutes periods with a 20 minute break in between periods. If the game is tied after the 3rd then there will be a 5 min overtime with 3 on 3 and the first team to score wins. If no one scores after overtime both teams will face a shootout! I have got to expierence both and wow its probaly one of the best expierences I have felt. The games are family fun and tickets are affordable in most cases. They usually play at 730pm or on weekends through out the day. The vibe is great and the fans are the best! Be prepared for large crowds wearing Victory Green and be prepared to scream Stars twice during the National Anthen! The season starts in October and last untill April and most of the time we make the playoffs and play through June. Everything is great at the games from the ice cold beer, ice girls, and the loyal fans! Lets go Stars! #beloudweargreengostars

The roommate and I went to Dallas to visit a friend and watch our local basketball team play. Imagine my surprise when we found out the San Jose Sharks were playing the Dallas Stars the day before. We decided to go to the game on Monday, March 20th at 7:30pm. I believe tickets were only $16, so it was really a no brainer. So much cheaper than going to a home game for me. My group of four ended up sitting in Section 330, Row B, Seats 1-4. The view was great and the row in front of us was a little empty, so I actually moved down and ended up in the front row of the uppers. I did notice while watching the game, the arena itself was pretty empty. (Probably about half full?) Not sure if it's always like this, but it was a little odd as I'm used to a packed venue. I'm not sure if they gave out goodies, but I did see a bunch of people with hats. When I've gone to previous away games, I've gotten the freebies, so not sure why we didn't get any here. Oh well, it's not like I wanted a Dallas themed hat anyways, but it was more about the principle? Although the outcome of the game wasn't exactly what I wanted, I still had fun seeing the San Jose Sharks play the Dallas Stars.

It's the Stars..HELLO!! We love going to Stars games, and they have not disappointed! On my wife's first game there was a hat trick, a big ass fight and we won!! What a way to start watching hockey! We've been to 4 games together and they've not lost yet while we were in the arena! We're good luck!! Hockey is tough for many to get into; it doesn't translate as well to TV. Nothing will ever beat seeing a game in person; once you do, you will be hooked!! It's an amazing game of skill and determination. Go to a game..you will not be disappointed!

So obviously I am a bit biased since I (at the time of this review) am a Season Ticket Holder. I am going to try to keep my review a bit realistic since I don't want to skew it too much. The arena is a lot of fun during the games, my friends from other cities have said that the Stars fans are a lot more tame than other cities (probably because its hockey in Texas...) but they do know how to get loud and make it fun. The people I have sat with during the games have been extremely friendly, I got to know my neighbors really quickly and everyone looks out for each other. No one is being hostile and no one shows any disrespect towards fans of other teams. The biggest let down is usually when we lose, which unfortunately has been a bit more prevalent this season. Otherwise, I really like the Dallas Stars and would support them in the future. Its a great sport for kids to go to and its great for a kid to get involved in.

If you have not been to a Stars game, go! Immediately! The atmosphere is absolutely amazing and the entertainment is so worth it. They have fantastic media that will keep you laughing and when they score a goal the awesome unison crowd reaction/cheer will have you hooked. We have only been in Dallas for 3 months and bought season tickets after attending only a couple games because we had so much fun and the atmosphere was so electric. It's the perfect way to spend an evening out. What are you waiting for!? Oh, and when you go, be sure to wear green!!

My brother is a huge Dallas Stars fan, and I grew up in Dallas. So...I grew up with the Dallas Stars. Games on the TV, games in the arena, memorabilia all over the house, etc. In December 2017, when I was home in Dallas for the holidays, my brother took my dad and I to a game (they were playing my current city's team - the Nashville Predators), and we had such a great time. Compared to some other teams' fans and arena atmosphere, Dallas Stars games are definitely more wholesome, family-friendly, and lighthearted fun (the people that run the media for the games definitely don't take things too seriously). I'm not the usual person to hark on "wholesomeness," but I've been to some NHL games recently that were unpleasant because the fans were so rude to opposing team players and fans of the opposing team. Going to a Dallas Stars game isn't like that. This was such nostalgic fun for me, it reminded me of going to games with my brother when we were in high school more than 10 years ago. Of course, it doesn't hurt that the game we saw was a W in shootouts after the score remained a tie after overtime! What a game! If you live in Dallas or if you're just visiting, the Stars are worth watching!

Go Dallas Stars!

This was Dirk Nowitzky's 21st season and he had recently passed Wilt Chamberlain for 5th all time high scorer. I'm glad we decided to watch the Mavericks since the Rangers lost by over ten runs to the Cubs. The game was almost completely sold out when we bought tickets at the Box Office (about 6 hours before game time on game day). We bought two tickets in different sections for $68 total ($34 each). I was thinking we could sit together anyway and I turned out to be correct. We killed the six hours at a nearby bar called the Happiest Hour which had terrible service and ignored my appeals to change the television to the March Madness game I wanted to watch. The arena is very clean and there isn't a bad view anywhere. Dirk only played briefly during the first quarter but was able to score a few times. He seemed hurt and stretched a lot while on the bench. Luka Doncic scored at will and is definitely a rising star. The Mavericks were already out of playoff contention, but they played hard. They lost to the Kings, 125-121, but it was a fun game to watch. This arena is in a good section of Dallas and the traffic after the game wasn't too bad. Overall, not a bad place to watch an NBA game.

Absolutely unacceptable experience from start to finish…read more Communication was practically nonexistent. Getting a response felt like pulling teeth, and when I finally did, it didn't even matter because the pricing was completely inconsistent. I was given a quote when I dropped off my items, only to receive an invoice TWO WEEKS later for nearly double the amount. No explanation, no heads-up--just a completely different price like that was normal. When I called to ask about it, the owner was shockingly rude. Instead of addressing the discrepancy, he immediately got defensive and accused me of wanting everything for free--which was never even remotely the case. Not once did he acknowledge that the invoice didn't match the original quote. It was dismissive, unprofessional, and frankly insulting. To top it off, when I said I'd just come pick up my shirts instead, his response was basically "good," as if he didn't want the business in the first place. That says everything you need to know. Terrible communication, dishonest pricing, and unbelievably rude customer service. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

I had the Italian beef, which was delicious--but definitely spicy. I even asked for light peppers and it still brought some heat. So fair warning: if you're sensitive to spice, you might want to pivot to something else. My wife has been missing New Orleans, so she went with the muffaletta. Let's just say it was a much cheaper solution than flying her to the Big Easy. No gumbo on the menu, but the sandwich hit the spot. After we ate, we did a little shopping and grabbed some fresh Italian ingredients imported straight from Italy--which is always a win in my book. Great food, great vibe, and a true Dallas institution. We'll definitely be back.

The garden in the spring is beautiful with the flowers in bloom. This time I avoided the parking fee by parking in a free lot at SMU and walking 10 minutes to the Bush Center. Overall, the gardens are a gem in Dallas. Second to being at ground zero seeing it from the Presidential library will leave you needing Kleenex or fanning away the tears as I attempted to do. It was truly something to see some of the items I'd only seen in media coverage up close and personal. You will have chills down your spine. There really are no words for this part of the museum but of course several other much lighter areas, filled with joyful memorabilia. I loved the pets area and the Oval Office replication. The baseball display, eggs from Easter rolls, his bible, menus, gowns, and many other items were highlights of mine from our visit. This is a fantastic library, and I'd highly recommend a visit. I love that it's on SMU's gorgeous campus. I'm also pleased I was able to purchase a 2025 White House ornament to add to my White House Christmas ornament collection. A truly great Dallas museum to visit.

When we arrived, there were about 15 staff members standing around and only a handful of patrons. We took a seat at the bar and were given the regular menu. When I asked about the happy hour menu, the bartender simply said, "We don't do happy hour," and walked away. Confused, my sister pulled up the exact ad that was still running on Instagram. The staff then informed us that the promotion had been offered by a former GM who left last week, and rather than honoring the ad or even apologizing for the confusion, they dismissed our concern entirely. It's disappointing when a business pays for advertising but fails to update or manage their promotions properly. If an offer is no longer valid, it should be removed from social media rather than misleading potential customers. Unfortunately, due to this experience, we chose to take our business elsewhere. I hope Backyard takes this as an opportunity to improve communication and ensure their marketing aligns with what they actually offer.
