This game was on Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at 7:30 PM. My wife and I picked the Mavericks versus Kings game over the Texas Rangers' opening day. This was Dirk Nowitzky's 21st season and he had recently passed Wilt Chamberlain for 5th all time high scorer. I'm glad we decided to watch the Mavericks since the Rangers lost by over ten runs to the Cubs. The game was almost completely sold out when we bought tickets at the Box Office (about 6 hours before game time on game day). We bought two tickets in different sections for $68 total ($34 each). I was thinking we could sit together anyway and I turned out to be correct. We killed the six hours at a nearby bar called the Happiest Hour which had terrible service and ignored my appeals to change the television to the March Madness game I wanted to watch. The arena is very clean and there isn't a bad view anywhere. Dirk only played briefly during the first quarter but was able to score a few times. He seemed hurt and stretched a lot while on the bench. Luka Doncic scored at will and is definitely a rising star. The Mavericks were already out of playoff contention, but they played hard. They lost to the Kings, 125-121, but it was a fun game to watch. This arena is in a good section of Dallas and the traffic after the game wasn't too bad. Overall, not a bad place to watch an NBA game. read more

When it comes to reviews, I'm a bit of a Maverick. But when it comes to Basketball, I don't have any love for the Dallas team, and I'm a novice when it comes to knowing any of their players, past or present, except for Dirk No-wins-ski. DM are not, then, Depeche Mode. They're a pretty good basketball team with plenty of support from certain factions of the Dallas-Fort Worth population, but definitely not one of the most supported, nor the most successful basketball teams around. And the Houston Rockets always seem to outshine them a little bit in terms of local rivalries. Not to mention the high-flying Spurs, who dominate Texas regularly if we're honest. Being the third best basketball team in Texas cannot sit very well with the local people who are big into their football team more than anything. Thanks babe. read more

I mean.... They paid off Glassdoor a few years ago to take down an honest employee evaluation. The players make millions while the front office staff makes pennies on the dollar and those employees also have senior executives taking credit for their work... the old gentleman overseeing HR made all females sign agreements to not even say hi or communicate in any way with the players. On game days you work 8:30 am-end of game. Only corporate sponsorship and higher ups had "blue badges" and sales team was treated like absolute garbage. It was like a call center. You make a sale and obnoxious sounds and tvs go off making the entire front office hate you. Absolutely terrible place. They thought a $10k pay raise to $40k/yr was so generous for the sales team when every other department made leaps and bounds more. When the sexual harassment scandal came out the only phone number was the sales team. We were berated, screamed at and insulted until they FINALLY told us to stop answering calls while no other department had to deal with any of it. Cynt was a God Send for that team but they continued to make promises to Star employees they wouldn't keep just to try and keep them. read more

I am a Mavs Fan For Life (MFFL). Its always a good time when in the AAC. The previous reviews are right - there really aren't any bad seats in this venue. You can sit in the 100's and have an amazing view or you can sit up in the nose bleeds and see the entire court. I applaud them for their parking situation they have anything from open lots to garages that you can place your car. They also have a Jack Daniels full bar inside so if you want something other than the wine and beer that they serve at the concessions. For all of the good food - that will be located on the lower level. They have Philly cheese steaks which really aren't like..the BEST thing ever but they are better than a $9 hot-dog. So pick your poison. They open the doors at least an hour before tip-off so you can stroll around if you choose. We love the Mavericks and try to attend as many home games as possible to show them our support! Xo. read more

Best. Team. Ever. Haters be gone! Everyone said the Mavs would never win the big one with Dirk and Mark Cuban involved in the franchise, and they can now eat their words nice and rare with a side of french-fried guilt. I've been a fan since I was 11 years old and living in upstate New York. My dad told me about this tall white guy who could shoot 3's and was making waves in the NBA. It didn't take long for my mood to start being dictated whether the Mavs won or lost and I saved every newspaper box score in a scrapbook. I've stuck with them throughout the roller-coaster ride. I've stayed strong even when I lived in LA, surrounded by taunting Laker fans (I even painted myself and brought a sign to a Clippers game once). I've experienced the worst things a sports fan can experience in 2006, 2007 and other years. But the ultimate relief came this year, and I cherish the fact I was able to sit in the sixth row for the Western Conference Finals opener and was able to bask in the glory with thousands of other fans at the AAC in the championship-clinching Game 6 of the NBA Finals. I attend Dallas Mavericks games at least two or three times a season. Always a good time. They have a lot of food options, plenty of access to drinks, and the Hangar is always stocked with plenty of fan gear. I love that the facility is clean from the stands, to the halls, to the restrooms. They always keep the facility presentable. Seating is affordable and you can usually always find a good deal online for an even lower price than regular ticket value. They always give out free goodies and sometimes they have theme nights where they give out shirts, hats, bobble head dolls, etc. Get there early to take advantage of even more giveaways from sponsors and to enjoy the full Dallas Mavericks experience at the American Airlines Center. #MFFL read more

I've been a huge fan of the Mavericks since the Finley, Nash, Nowitzki days (I dominated NBA Street back in the early Aughts using that epic 3 man team). As a Boston Celtics fan, I detest the Lakers, and I've always considered the Mavericks my west coast team...the team most likely to knock off my hated Lakers. There were a few rough years there right after Nash left, where they didn't perform at the level I was used to, but duuuuudes, am I lovin' the Mavericks right now!!! Game three last night was epic. These guys are playing their hearts out and are one game away from sweeping the defending champs. I love it. Dirk has, what, like 13 consecutive games with 20+ points in the playoffs? Easily one of my favorite players in the league. I love a big guy who can shoot. Gasol has no clue how to defend him. Jason Terry has to be one of the best players coming off the bench right now. Watching the Celtics lose to the Heat the last two games, I'm asking myself why on earth they traded Nate Robinson, another great sixth man. Then there's Jason Kidd...he's always amazing to watch. What a playmaker. The speed on some of those passes last night was insane. He's always reminded me of Isaiah Thomas a little bit, one of my childhood heroes of the game. Thank goodness they've built another amazing team. I can't end the review without mentioning Mark Cuban, who is certainly my favorite owner in the league. Sure, he stirs the pot, but I love that he's willing to say what needs said to get results. And if you've got the money to pay the fines, why not? I don't get how the city of Dallas can be such rabid football fans and such fairweather basketball fans. They have a great owner in Mark Cuban. He loves his teams, treats them well, and yet the fans don't reciprocate. There's no comparison to Dub-Nation, with the best fans in the world, but it was sad to go to a game and have the Mavs play well and have the arena packed, but silent. Booing a team that won 67 regular season games in the first game of the playoffs showed their true colors. I LOVE YOU DIRK and SAMUEL!!!!! Okay, I had to get that out of the way. I can't help but love the Dallas Mavericks and Mark Cuban unconditionally, and let me tell you why. Not only do I consider them the best team in the NBA no matter what, but they are also the most amazingly giving team I've ever had to privilege to work with. Part of my job and love is working with various organizations in the city that focus on kids, especially kids that are food and housing insecure. It has never failed that I've seen donations from the players or them actually involved in events that make these beautiful children's faces just light up with glee. My latest experience was chaperoning this year's Turkey Dunk benefiting the kids with Rainbow Days. I cannot tell you how wonderful it was seeing the players interact with the kids. They genuinely had fun and really helped the ones that were really shy relax and get the full experience. All of the players were just so supportive and were so nice to everyone. The level of humility, even from Rick Carlisle himself was awesome. Some of the boys were super excited to be able to talk game plays with him. So yeah, of course the Mavericks are automatically my favorite team due to me cheering them on since the early 80's when their uniforms were that really awesomely awful green while growing up, but as an adult they are my favorite due to what they accomplish on and off the court. read more

Besides the game being close and exciting and the team itself having incredible talent, the supporting media and host were outstanding. There was never a dull moment.
