Yes, sound check was amazing and being up close was a cool experience, however, it was challenging to see the ends of the very long stage, and there were times we couldn't see several members. Also, looking up at the screens was hard on our necks! All this hi say next time I will opt for the 100-level seats. But the facility is absolutely top notch

One notable one is that there is ample bathrooms for the crowds, thus you almost never see a line to get into them. There are several food and beverage concession areas too. This is one area they could improve...while they get people in and out quickly, the sodas from them are often watered down, the pretzels and popcorn etc sit out just a little too long, and the prices just a little too high. I paid $7 for a bottled water. There really is a huge opportunity for SMU to do better by their fans in this area. I also appreciate SMU for allowing their football stadium to be used for the first responders' bowl. Ok, now, for the opportunities, there was not nearly enough parking for everyone to park near the stadium. Additional parking was not clearly identified, so we had to keep asking people who worked there or who went to school about where we could park. We finally found a parking garage that was about 10 minutes away from the stadium walking. Once we got to the stadium. We went to 3 different gates before we got to the right gate. It would have been nice if the gates had been more clearly marked, but the staff was very helpful about getting us to the right gate eventually. Finally, I guess they did not consider how much alcohol college students drink, especially at Texas State and Rice because most of the alcohol besides beer was sold out by halftime, so that was a little disappointing. Again, overall, I had a blast, and I would definitely go to another game. But I have learned a lot of lessons for next time.

With a seating capacity of 13,000, this is truly a Texas-Sized venue. It is perfect for high school football playoffs, which was exactly why I was here. When I pulled up to the stadium I was blown away by its size. I was also very impressed by the availability of parking. The design of the lot really made there not be a bad spot in the lot, and there was ample room for the plethora of busses that that it takes for schools to take their shows on the road. Other great amenities that this place has is modern and bright lighting, decent concession and restroom options, and great views of the field from all over the stadium. The one downfall I noticed was there are a LOT of stairs, and that can be troublesome for some attendees. For example, the people sitting next to me left their elderly parents on the lower level where there was not as good of a view in order to get a better view for themselves. Overall though, this is a very good venue, despite this inconvenience.

The parking staff left our driver driving in circles, while he was trying to figure out where to drop us off and even the drop-off point was an empty parking lot away from the building. Luckily, we had an easy in, scan your bags and get a drink! Unfortunately, ordering off the concession stand menu is like a playing a game of jeopardy, place your order in the form of a question since there is no guarantee they are even offering it at the time. Although they claim to serve wine, they didn't yet it remains on the menu. So, on with the scavenger hunt from stand to stand for wine, wouldn't it just make sense to simply cross what you don't serve off of the menu and save us a few miles in that sweatbox? At this venue you learn to settle, bud light or a can of seltzer, take your pick. Either way you pay, over a dollar an ounce with a limit of 2 per passenger. Coldplay was great, loved the show. Consider saving a bottle of water and looking for a buggy ride for the after show exit, the walk seems even longer on the way out.. Cheers!

We made it inside the Cotton Bowl to attend the Dallas Trinity Womens Soccer game. We had been to…read morethe fair grounds before for other events so we knew where we were going. What was unfortunate was the confusion with the pre-paid parking. It sent us one direction and the grounds attendants weren't helpful in guiding us. After driving around for a bit, we found a place to park and they never scanned our parking pass or collected money. (Next time we'll just head there and see where we can park rather than pre-pay). It was easy to get to the Cotton Bowl itself as they had clear signage to direct you to one side of the stadium for entry. While it is a nostalgic stadium, you realize how we've grown accustomed to more modern amenities (e.g. seats with backs, restrooms that are easy to navigate in/out without steps). The concessions were right in the front when you entered and easy to navigate.
