I made lots of friends in the outdoor dining area since I have my sweet dog. My new friends recommended hamburgers & the BLT. I decided to strike out on my own & ordered the Country Fried Steak with white gravy. Now I'm from Texas & I love CFS, so when I tell you it was good, that means something!!! It was fresh & hot! Fresh okra that you can tell was hand breaded (amazing, my first of the season since we've had so much rain in LA)! The onion rings were also awesome. The ranch was a little runny but it tasted great (I just would have liked more sticking to the ORs)! Patty was great!!! Super helpful & attentive. She brought my pup water & then brought him refills. That has never happened to me before! Doggie owners, I felt welcomed. All that plus a really nice fruity cake for dessert cost $23.58! I feel weird giving my meal a 10 (since I'm from TX & the food is a Texan staple) but it's well deserved. Great ending to a very long day driving!

My wife had half of mine while they made another one. The new one was almost right. About 1/4 of it was raw. What wasn't raw was very good. The fried okra was good. The fries were so-so (not crispy). The service was terrible. They were a little busy, but not *that* busy.

It is rare to get a burger prepared exactly the way I prefer one (cheese, ketchup, and loaded with grilled onions), and the North Star didn't disappoint. My friend ordered the double-cheeseburger and loved his meal as well. The fries were really good, and reminiscent of New York diner fries. My wife and I have been back more than a few times when we are in the mood for an excellent burger.

After waiting about 20 minutes our server brought us a roll baked inside of a small crock and served with a tiny serving of cherry butter. The roll was warm but not warm enough to melt the butter. The cherry butter was amazing and something I've never tried; it was the best part of our meal. Our meals finally arrived after another 15 or 20 minutes. The chicken had clearly been grilled to order and was cooked long past done. It was a dry, flavorless morass. The flavorless "stuffing" was unlike any other stuffing I've ever had, but it clearly had been cooked in the past and was just bad. The promised hot honey was MIA. My sweet potato casserole had likely been sitting in the cooler until scooped up, thrown in a serving tray and moved to the oven. If the casserole had been freshly prepared it would have been excellent, but as served it was lukewarm, unattractively presented and tasted like leftover sweet potato casserole that was past its prime. My dining companion tried the corn pudding and thought it wasn't bad but it also looked like it was dredged up from the cooler. Olde Liberty Station's kitchen is in need of an overhaul. We wont be back.

What really stood out was the number of locals having breakfast. The only bad thing I can say is that Sunrise BBQ is not located in the city where we live but if we are ever passing through Lexington again, Sunrise BBQ will be our go to breakfast place.

People were coordinating among themselves to determine the order of queue. Adding clearer signage or having a set host could help create a smoother experience for busy days. Honestly while waiting on my drink, I browsed the menu and already was ready to order by time they took our drinks. once that was taken, the food arrived within a reasonable timeframe. The restrooms were the biggest ick of our visit. They had single bathrooms with clear vacancy indicators on the doors with working locks. They were running low on toilet paper, dark, and there was a smell that was similar to a hot, sweaty gas station. On a positive note, plenty of parking with spaces both in front of the restaurant and in a larger lot on the side of the building. Signs to get to there were clear both on the highway exits and near the business. Overall, the experience was okay. I think we would come back for food and sit-down experience.
