We decided to board our seven month old black lab from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon. We told the employee, Darcy, that we wanted to pick her up Sunday and asked if that was an available option, as we do know that other boarding facilities are sometimes closed on Sunday. She said yes, but only from 4pm-6pm, so we agreed to pick up our dog during that time. At 4pm on Sunday, I called to give them a heads up that we were on our way to pick up our dog. The same woman, Darcy, did not sound pleased that we would be there in five minutes. When we arrived, she was extremely rude, and we were charged about $20 more than we were expecting. Turns out, there is an additional fee of $20 for picking up after 1pm, even though they are not available for pick up before that time on Sunday. This would have been no issue at all if she had simply told either my fiancé or I when speaking on the phone multiple times or when he had dropped her off. The facility reeked before you even stepped inside, and our dog smelled terribly. The real issue here though, is that once we were home and removed our dog's blanket and bed from the garbage bag that the employee had shoved them in, we found that the blanket and bed were completely soaked with urine. It was very obvious it had not been one single accident. And on top of that, the bed had two pieces of feces in the bed, with multiple stains in the bed. I called the kennel back, again speaking to Darcy, and asking why my dog's bed and blanket were soaked in urine and feces. To which I received the response: "Well you only gave me five minutes and then you were here." That is not the issue. This company should not need a "heads up" to make sure that the pets they are trusted with are cleaned up solely for them to be taken home. She did not even let us know in person that our dog had had an accident and we would need to clean the bed and blanket at home. And apparently did not even care enough to get all of the feces out of the bed. I am still waiting on a call from the owner at this time to discuss this matter further. read more

I use a petsitter when out of town but needed to take my dog to daycare for a few days while a contractor put a new roof on my house. Dal Acres made it convenient to drop my dog off on the way to work and pick her up on the way home and she seemed to enjoy her time there. I highly recommend. read more

If you love your dog, DO NOT take them here. We left two dogs with them while on vacation. When we picked the dogs up they were smelly. Their beds were urine soaked and stunk. They didn't give prescribed meds to one of the dogs. And to top it off one dog had a severe bite wound on her foot that required an immediate trip to the vet and cost us $266. If I could give them zero stars I would. read more

Do not take your dog here. I took both of my dogs to stay for just two days. When I came to pick them up, the food I brought for them was untouched. They did not take my dogs out to potty and they urinated on the new beds I brought for them. One of my dogs had a new harness on, that was completely destroyed. To top it off, one of my dogs came home with kennel cough. I called them about it, so they could warn other owners but they were not concerned. I would not give them 1 star, but I had to give them at least 1 to leave the review. Trust the other reviews you are seeing along the same lines. We are not making this stuff up !! read more

DON'T TAKE YOUR DOGS HERE. Staff did not do their job as requested. Poor management and customer service. Would give 0 stars if possible. When picking up the dogs from vacation their beds returned all soiled and smelling terribly. Because of coronavirus we could not groom our dogs for 3 months and this place was our only option so we decided to give them another chance... grave mistake. They probably ruined my Pomeranians hair forever. We asked for a medium length, they called us and said that one of the dogs was biting and had tangled hair so they were going to have to cut his hair shorter. We agreed to leave it AT LEAST 2 inches long. When we picked them up they gave us a discount because they "didn't look the way we asked". We paid before taking a look at our pets. They both were totally shaved, more than the 2 inches we had discussed. Our vet told us their hair may never grow the same way again. I called them to ask for a refund and the manager denied it and was yelling over the phone. Avoid this toxic place if possible. read more

Used them for doggy daycare during the Illinois State Fair. Staff was very nice and my puppy was well taken care of.

Have used this place for twenty years and been very happy. Last time my dog had such severe razor burn I had to take her to the vet to the tune of $178.00. After four calls and six weeks of being ignored, I finally went in and got a grooming refund. Their excuse? Too busy to call me for six weeks. Blamed me for not bringing a vet report, which no one asked me for for six weeks. But, they claimed they "really cared" about my dogs. Won't go back under current management. read more

I took my dogs to them for several groomings. Then I read that you should ask to go and see where it is done. They declined to let me go in. The next time, one of my dogs came home with a quarter sized hole in her side. They basically said that if the groomer didn't note that she had cut my dog, it didn't happen, but the manager said she would look into it and get back to me. $525 in vet bills later, she finally healed and I never heard another word from them. We've taken our dogs there in the past with good results. However, when we went to pick up our pets today, they were very unorganized. We left dog toys for our dogs. But, when we asked about our pets toys, they indicated that they could not find them. What?! Our pets were supposed to have them while we were gone. Nope! They said that they must have gone home with another dog! They said that they would replace them if we provided receipts. So, we had to go shopping to buy new toys and take them the receipts. Nice vacation that ended on a bad note. Makes me wonder now if they fed them the food we took? What about giving one of our dogs their required meds? While we were waiting, another costumer came to pick up their dog. They were also upset. I think that the owners need to give their employees/family a swift kick out the door and get back on the track they used to be. BOTTOM LINE: I do not recommend Dal Acres and will not return! read more

I picked up my beagle there today and was very upset with them my dogs paws were red and some had bleeding. The fur on his tail was gone on the end, and had a sore on it. He had dried poop on him that I had to stub to get off of him. His eyes are runny and he had diarrhea. He came home unhappy. When I asked them about his paws they said oh he must have scraped them on the concrete run. I will never bring him back there and would never recommend this place. I only hope he starts to feel better. read more

Took my dog there to get groomed. First they would not give me an estimate of how long it may take. So I had no idea how long I had until I had to pick him up. Second I was quoted $32-$40 on the phone. When it came time to pay, it was $45 and my dog behaves well and had no mats. Then the next day after his hair stopped being so poofy from being blown out I notice there is a spot they missed right in front of his eye and one on his leg. Then on his chest there is an obvious line where part is shorter than the rest. Can't believe I paid that much to do something that I could have done with my clippers at home. I have never had anyone do so badly. Now I am going to have to try to fix it myself or shell out more to go somewhere else. read more
