Springfield, IL - What a horrible experience dealing with this grooming facility. We scheduled an appointment two months in advance and sent a deposit to secure the appointment. On the day of the appointment we received a phone call indicating they were canceling the appointment and didn't have a groomer to fulfill the appointment slot. They stated "We're a small business. You've got to understand." I do understand how important it is to support small businesses but I wish they could understand we waited two months for the appointment and sent a deposit that they received and cashed. There is an obligation to fulfill the agreement of providing services. They didn't have any appointments available to accommodate my work schedule within the next several weeks so I requested they return my deposit. On the phone the groomer was abrupt, short tempered and unsympathetic that we'd waited an significant amount of time (2 months) for the appointment and simply didn't care that they couldn't fulfill their commitments. Response to Business Owner Post Ian, actually you gave me one appointment option for the following week and because I was not home at the time I received your call, I asked if I could go home to get my calendar book to see if the date conflicted with my work schedule and call you back. You agreed and I drove home immediately and called you back in less than 30 minutes and you gave away the 'one' appointment slot you 'created' for me. The other appointment you gave me an option to conflicted with my work schedule due to a less than 24 hour notice and I could not accept the slot. Ian, the "We couldn't care less attitude you displayed on the phone interaction prompted the negative Yelp review." As I mentioned on the phone the original appointment had been scheduled for two months and the deposit had been made in advance. Therefore, I was disappointed in the cancellation and the brush off I received from you. I did find another groomer and was able to schedule an appointment within a few days. We love Pawsitivity! Our pup, unfortunately, has anxiety, and they exemplify the utmost patience, gentleness, and love toward our little guy. Also, we tried several groomers before we found Pawsitivity. Unlike the others, they actually listened to what we wanted for his cut. They go above and beyond to ensure they follow our requests. We've taken her to Pawsitivity for more than two years, and they always do a wonderful job. Contrary to the other review, the people I dealt with were very pleasant and friendly. My dog is young and can be a little rowdy, so I called ahead to find out a time when they'd be less busy. (We needed her nails clipped, which is a walk-in.) My dog is timid, despite being 62 pounds, and the groomer was patient and took time to talk to her and calm her. The staff seems to genuinely like and understand dogs. I'll be bringing my dog back here. read more

They were wonderful with my dog. She is very nervous and they made sure to clear with me before they did anything that would possibly scare her. They talked to her the whole time reminding her how good she was doing :) They were both wonderful and I will be taking her there from now on! read more

Unprofessional and poor quality haircuts. I have a 4lb yorkie mix who had multiple haircuts that were uneven and choppy. Forgot to cut his dewclaws after being reminded. Had an appointment during covid-19 and they took full payment plus tip before bringing me my dog, and only then did they let me know that they were unable to complete the haircut because they were scared for his safety. My dog has never been aggressive getting a haircut before this and had always gotten good feedback about his behavior. The haircut was the worst I had ever seen, random long spots all over his body, armpits, legs, and face barely cut at all. They have a 50lb limit on dogs they will accept and yet they can't give a proper haircut to a dog that's only 4lbs. read more

The cuts here were satisfactory, although not exemplary. However, the staff was rude. When I dropped them off, I told them that my dogs were having a terrible time with allergies and so they were rashy. When I went to pick them up, the man said to me "you know this dog has bumps all over it! ". I reminded him that I told him the dogs had allergies when I dropped them off. He then asked me in a rather snippy tone if I was doing anything about it. Of course, my dogs are under constant veterinary care for this condition. I had requested that the dogs not be brought out until I finished paying, but they were. As a result, I couldn't reschedule as my dogs were clamoring to leave. When I called to reschedule, they were scheduling for over a month away. I made one comment about it being so far out and the person on the phone suggested I would be better off with another salon. She then hung up on me. I was not in the least bit rude to her. When I tried to call back. They wouldn't answer the phone. Clearly, they don't care if they have your business or not. read more
