Korean fried chicken drumsticks
Amanda M.

I was so excited to try Dak Good. There is nothing like it in Muskegon. It met my expectations and beyond. You can dine in or carry out. We arrived around 5pm and were seated right away. Everything is clean, modern, and beautiful inside. The decor (neon lights) is so good and gives great vibes. We had diet cokes and my son had a Japanese soda. We ordered quite a bit of food to try. Pork potstickers, soy garlic chicken bao buns, cheese balls, spicy chicken fried rice, buldak, and boneless Korean fried chicken (boneless and drumsticks). Everything had so much flavor and cooked perfectly. If we had to critique something, it would probably be the cheese balls. Compared to everything else, they just had little flavor. They were okay. The Korean fried chicken is phenomenal. We did half spicy and half garlic soy. That chicken is so crispy and so juicy and so flavorful. I don't know how they do it. The Buldak was also insanely good. It is very spicy, but man those rice cakes are perfection. One dish came with coleslaw and one with pickled radish. Both were wonderful and great palette cleansers. I can't wait to try even more food. Our service was great. Smiling faces, lots of drink refills, etc. Dak Good will be a new go-to restaurant for our family.

I've been waiting for a spot like this to open up around here. Highly recommend the fried rice!

Chicken Strips

I hope they around for a long, long time. The spicy chicken is extremely good! And the fries are perfect. If it's fried, they know what to do.

Kimchi

10 out of 10! Veggie potstickers are so crispy and delicious. Spicy sauce is VERY spicy but good. And the miso ramen and kimchi were fire! New favorite spot for sure! Service was friendly and the place was clean!

It came with miso soup, unagi over rice, a pot sticker, veggie tempura, a shrimp tempura and edamame I was full at the end of the meal. My husband got the special cluck cluck bowl, which had spicy chili chicken, chicken fried rice and miso soup, he also got a taro bubble tea. The chicken was very flavorful with a mild heat to it. We were very satisfied with our meal choice, one of the top two meals over our weekend away.

It is definitely a mom and pop type feel - the servers were also the ones preparing the food, from what I could tell. Since it was not too busy, we were greeted promptly and our food came out pretty quick. We tried the appetizer - Nikojume Tempura. It was deep fried mushrooms stuffed with spicy crab salad, cream cheese, and eel sauce. It was a heavy dish and very rich in flavors. I liked it but it was very filling before the main dish. We tried some Korean dishes - Bulgogi and Japchae. Both were very good with generous portions. Sadly, they do not do banchan (shared small dishes that come with most Korean meals). We truly enjoyed our dining experience at Oppa. They have ample parking. The restaurant is very clean. Staff was friendly and attentive. I would not say it's the best Korean food in Grand Rapids but it was still worthy of 4 stars. We will definitely try to come back and try some of their sushi rolls!

I started by grilling the vegetables because they take the longest. I suggest a julienne cut on the peppers as the large chunks are difficult to cook. This would be better for the onions as well. The meats didn't take long at all, chicken obviously took the longest. The beef bulgogi is marinated and has a beautiful flavor. I recommend using the lettuce to make it all into a lettuce wrap and just going into your sauce like a dip. This was so mouth watering yummy!! I am so glad we came and I can't wait to come back! Service was top notch, everything was clean, the ambiance is just right. Come give this a try. Seriously!! 5 stars. Period.

The staff is generally very friendly but you do most of the ordering via ipad at the table. I think this format is a lot easier and more efficient for both servers and customers for the most part. The staff is very helpful explaining things and pretty quick at changing out grill pans. I have noticed recently that not all of the food will come out and some things may not ever arrive especially after the first 30 minutes or so. Be sure to notice what things come out more quickly and try to stick to those for the best value.

I feel like this market has a wider selection of snacks and good than Seoul Market, as Seoul Market has a restaurant inside. Both locations have their perks! They had a row of Asian noodles, to row of sauces, and dried goods (like vegetables). I loved how they had little bags in the fridge that had different types of soups. So handy and makes for a quick meal if you don't have much time to cook! Other quick Asian dish fixes - dumplings and ramen. They also have huge bags of different kinds of rice (up to 15lbs) like white and brown rice. Like many other stores, they also have some gadgets relating to food - rice cookers, utensils, Asian designed bowls, etc. The owners are super nice - they will greet you when you come in, and say bye when you leave. Overall, this store has pretty anything you'd except from a nice Korean store - noodles, rice, sauces, dried veggies and other foods, little bags of soups and sauces, kimchi, Asian veggies, etc.

Nate and I met up with a group of Korean adoptees recently and had a nice time. The space was great for a larger group and we all had plenty of room to share since it wasn't busy. The menu includes several Korean dishes that you can't really find anywhere else in the area, like buldak, pan fried mackerel, pork belly stir fry, etc. It was tough to decide what to order because I LOVE Korean food! I went with the buldak (spicy chicken stir fry with cheese) and Nate got the dolsot bibimbap with spicy pork. We also had some appetizers to share - the fried dumplings and shumai. I loved the dumplings. They were super crispy and the filling was savory and tasty. The shumai were okay and cooked nicely, just not a ton of flavor for me. I was really happy with the buldak. The chicken was tender, it had plenty of melty cheese, and it wasn't super spicy. I've made this dish at home and you can definitely make it super hot! Nate and I both agreed that we liked the buldak better than the bibimbap. There is plenty of parking as Emonae is in a strip mall with some other restaurants. I will definitely be back to try more of their food!
