What a great store. I came in here just to browse and came out with $10 worth of stuff. As compared to the Monterey Park one, this one is about 3x bigger. And boy..... was it better!! It's just as clean too. I came out buying a bunch of japanese snacks, some low-cut lace socks (For when you wear flats), a purse hanger thing and hair accessories. Best of all, the store wasn't crowded. I can browse and not be interrupted by someone nudging my back or stepping on my feet. Even though the items in there are only $1.50, the presentation of the store doesn't make it feel cheap. I want to go back and buy more stuff. :( Minimum $10 credit cards. No minimum for debit cards. Love love LOVE Daiso! Almost everything is $1.50 (a few items are a few dollars more). I purchased some bamboo place mats the other day. They are very similar to the ones I almost bought at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, except $0.49 cheaper. I am also addicted to the sour grape gummy candy that they sell in 5-packs. You can buy so many useful things here. Household items? Got it! School supplies? Got it! Snacks? Got it! Kitchenware? Got it! Cute miscellaneous items? Got it! You know those Command strips that you can buy at Target for $4 - $7? You can find similar ones here for $1.50! This store is very clean and very neat (which is not typically the case for stores that sell inexpensive items). This place is on Michael's status. For those who don't know me well, I have absolutely no self control in Michael's. I want to buy everything and I do. (I have a whole big plastic bin full of arts and crafts crap that I have never used.) Daiso is the same way for me. I enter and lose all control. I might as well just buy one of everything and call it a day. (My niece comes in here and loses her damn mind. I have to pry her away from looking at everything. It is just embarrassing. That is a lie. She is the one telling me to leave things alone and "let's go.") This is the Japanese version of the 99 cent store, but things are just a little more money (and typically of slightly better quality.) Highlights for me, include: melamine sponges for cleanup cheap and good kitchen knives LED lights (flashlights, stick up lights for closets, keychain lights, etc.) inexpensive but nice bowls, cups, serving sets for Asian food washcloths (yes, long and scratchy, great for scrubbing your back) all manner of plastic kitchenware There are aisles that I don't go down, like the entire aisle full of funky pencil erasers. I don't visit the front of the store, to the left of the entrance. It houses mostly things for women or seasonal things that I don't care for. There is a small snack section. They have all the usual culprits you'd find at a typical Japanese market and some not so traditional things. This place is great for stocking stuffers, party favors and odd little gifts, just to confuse someone. No returns and no exchanges. They do take credit cards. This is the best Daiso out of all the other ones in Southern California. Daiso has been expanding dramatically to many cities since last year and its expansion is still on going in many nearby cities. This Gardena Daiso is really big and carries a lot of items/merchandise compared to other Daiso. I have gone to one in Koreatown in Madang Mall, which is so small and its just not worth going. To add, LA cities dont give out plastic bags anymore so if you forget to bring your own bag, you need to buy it or just carry with your hands. Anyway, Daiso carries a lot of everyday, essential items for really cheap price, $1.50. Most are $1.50 but some are slightly cheaper or more depending on certain items. I noticed bulky and heavy items usually cost more than $1.50. I know they have no refund, no return/exchange policy but I wish they had exchange policy. I bought something and I thought it was one thing and I came home and opened it and it was something that I wasnt expecting. Many times. So sad. Plenty of parking and they close at 9:00 PM and they really really want you to leave when its about 8:58 PM. So dont stay until 9:00 PM. They will hate you. No joke. read more

Why can't all Daiso's be like this one? This Daiso is super roomy, not like the Daiso's which are closer to home (Monterey Park/ Temple city). This location seems larger than the others I've been to. They have so much you can buy here! They have household items, food, personal care, makeup, pet stuff, gift bags and accessories, stationary and many more. Daiso has one of my favorite pair of lashes and only for $1.50! The place is clean and there is plenty of parking. The only downfall when I went was the limited stock of Christmas stuff, but I totally understand since I went on Christmas Day. I LOVE DAISO!!! you can literally find everything and more in this store! when this place first opened i use to get so dizzy coming in here because there is sooo many items here it's just overwhelming. daiso is like an asian version of the 99 cents store. the products they have here come from japan and you can't find this anywhere else. most of the items here are $1.50 unless noted. the lines can get really long during weekends since everyone comes here with their families. they have a mini snack selection here but hopefully they widen their selection! read more

Daiso is the only place you can buy everything from kawaii Japanese stuff, cosmetics, kitchen items, pet supplies, foods, party supplies, clothing to electronics for ONLY$1.50(unless marked otherwise) and great quality for the price!! Some people say it's a Japanese version of 99cent store, variety-wise...maybeee...cuteness, colorfulness, creativeness-wise...NO!! I've been to many different Daiso locations but this is one of the biggest and has the widest variety of things. Store is very organized and clean. I'm a long time Daiso shopper since the mid-90s in Japan and since 2012 in the U.S. when they opened their locations here. Their products are not only low priced but also KAWAII and great quality. Probably 80% of my PINK kitchen items and stationaries are all from here:) I love pink and Daiso has everything I need in PINK! Wine opener, cutting board, measuring cups, kitchen scale, book organizer, pen jar, to the organizer containers for the fridge! If you have pets, make sure to check out their pet supplies! Their collars/leash and toys are so cute and they even carry cat scratch board, pee pads and even diapers for only $1.50! I love their cosmetics too. Their Japanese Sake skin toner is great! Most items are $1.50 some are a little more, some less. Your first trip will take at least an hour as you look at everything, later trips might take longer since you are still fascinated by all the cool stuff. No returns or exchanges so by one to make sure it will work for you, as the products are made for the Japanese market they may be different sizes than you would typically find in the US. It's easy to get carried away here. Store policy and pricing is listed all throughout the store. And before you start the check out process, you're reminded of the no return/no refund policy. Daiso used to be Marukai 98, and it's next door to 99 Ranch Market and close by to McDonald's. The parking lot is quite busy, so you're not likely to find a spot close by. I could rave about this store forever. It is fantastic. I would pick this store over a .99 cent store. It is clean, organized, and shiny you would not expect it to be a $1.50 store. It is like the Daiso stores in Japan. It is great. What I really like about the place is that they sell unique and useful Japanese items. You just have to check it out and look carefully at the descriptions. They sell wax that you rub on wooden draws so that it open and closes more smoothly. So glad that I just recently found this place. Had I known about it, who knows how much I would have spent over time. My boyfriend and I love Japanese anything so this place is dangerous. The store is super cute. You can find so many things here; both random and practical things. I mean a dog diaper? Socks made for slippers? Mini portable toilets (for the road I guess haha)? But you can also find practical things for the home: makeup, stationary, kitchen, bath, pets....you name it. What I ended up buying on my first trip to Daiso: stainless steel whisk, cute hedgehog microfiber mittens, eyeglass case, polka dot oven mitten, heart shape cake molds, dog waste bags, zip ties, passport case, eyeglass microfiber cloth, baby blue dog harness, a bunch of dog toys, and a lot more stuff that I probably do not need. Best part? Everything that I bought was $1.50 each! Yes, $1.50 (but do keep in mind there are things that cost more than $1.50 and those are marked but it's safe to say most items are $1.50) I should have known better that things add up and I did spent more than I anticipated. Daiso is a super cute store with even better customer service. I needed help finding an item and asked a nearby cashier and she walked me to the aisle it was located at without any hesitancy. She was also the one who checked me out and I noticed she didn't have a name tag on but when I asked for her name she said it was Katrina. I love this Daiso so much! It is by far the largest store, and carried everything that you may need. Most of the items were $1.50 (some $4 items & $8 items), and of better quality than the 99 cent shop items. After visiting 4 Daiso stores, this one carried the item my fiance & I were looking for (a Android USB car plug charger), and it was $1.50 (so cheap!). Once we found what we were looking for, we endlessly wondered through all the aisles. Little did we know, our cart was filled with so many items. My fiance purchased computer & car accessories, and I purchased traveling accessories & home goods. We even ended up getting some wonderful souvenirs to bring back to our loved ones! I have visited this place before, and also visited the stores in Japan. I prefer the Japanese stores as those were (when I was there) 100 yen stores, and everything was 100 yen. This store isnt that way. MOST things are $1.50 but there are many things that are more so to me that takes the fun out of it. When they they stick to a plan and people get the best value for their money I think its great. When they sell stuff at every price it makes the store look a bit "cheap" in my opinion. The value factor is no longer much of a stimulus to go anymore. I used to love the stationary, desk supplies, pens etc. This time I found nothing to buy there. I did fall for one of those stainless steel eggs to get rid of fish and garlic smells. I have not yet tried it to report if it really works. Some of the ladies sun hats are good value and many at $2. Really though....if it was all $1.50 it would be much more fun to shop here. These $2.00 hats have 150 yen tags on them. At the exchange rate today 150 JPY =1.28266USD. Now at some of the Korean stores you see stuff selling for less than the won price marked on them. I know though you cant always compare what happens in a another country to another as laws and export subsidies exist but for the informed shopper ...we see it. I also used to buy these plastic individual holders for rice that you could serve in, use for a rice mold (they are round) with a lid too. Nope, not there anymore. They had some terrible looking things that might have replaced them but they were not worth buying. Total junk. I also dont like no refunds or exchange. Years ago much more was made in Japan where quality level is high so you didnt have to worry so much. Now much is China and elsewhere so when they dont stand behind their stuff that again cheapens the store. After all Dollar tree is less at $1.00 and you can go exchange anything there anytime. If something is defective they take it back. Here they stamp on each receipt and post signs, no refunds or exchanges. When I see this kind of stuff I know its only $1.50, but it makes me less willing to buy stuff. It's like a warning this is no longer a respectable store! I feel the deals here are getting fewer and fewer yet for most people they can still find a few items to buy. Best to look for best buys in kitchenware, like tableware and sushi making items and electronic gadgets. Hit and miss in slippers, footwear, hats. Went with my bf to this place because I read previous reviews and they warned to be careful because you may end up purchasing more than you expect. Hoping he would be able to help stop me from buying stuff i didnt need. They were correct on over shopping!! He was the one throwing stuff into our cart more than I was. Parking: was easy to find. Has lots of space in the plaza lot. Staff: pleasant and friendly. Didn't ask them any questions. At check out they made sure that it was OK to charge the baskets at $3. Was nice of them since I wasn't focused when I got them. Still got them but it's good to know. Store layout: fairly big with many aisles to walk through. Aisles were apart enough to have multiple people in them without bumping into each other. All kinds of products that you may and may not need. Bought things that I was curious about. Most items were $1.50, some $3 and $4 (containers and baskets), shirts are $7. Wasn't a hot or stuffy place to walk around. Very colorful on the inside but organized which I loved. Payments: cash, credit and debit. Not sure if they take Amex though. Bathroom: not sure if any available. Will definitely go back and purchase cutesy items here again. read more

I loved this place! It was kind of magical for me, since I haven't been to Japan yet I imagined myself being there as I walked around this nice sized store. I would describe the store as a Family Dollar or Dollar Tree basic everyday needs for cheap. However it was very different from the two stores I listed above because the store was very neat and well organized, everything in place flowing perfectly to corresponding products. Perhaps my most favorite part of the store is the check out surrounded by different flavored Pocky. If you never tried Pocky please do its an amazing biscuit stick thats cover in different flavors and they come in a ridiculous amount of flavors. Terrible parking!!! With 85C and McDonalds and Ranch 99 the parking is very tight. They have a very clean store and most items are $1.50 and up but is very welled valued on Japanese style items. They have a variety of items including snacks and things you find mostly at a Japanese store. read more

My favorite part about this particular Daiso is the various snack options. They also carry lots of different Pocky flavors and most recently, sea salt Pocky, which I left with 2 packs! I have been to the Daiso in Berkeley and the one in Irvine before coming to this one. This Daiso seems to be the most organized and looks very clean. I remember coming here when it was Maruka 99cent only store.. which then became the 99cent PLUS store and everything was HELLA expensive..and ghetto. HOWEVER, I love how Daiso totally remodeled it and made everything look so much nicer. The floors are super clean and shiny. Tons of stuff in the food/home/auto/gardening/hobby/baby/pet category. ***** I wish this place was closer to me.
