Amazing service, delicious food and truly some of the best menu, seasonal items you could ask for! Can't wait to go back!

When we arrived, the host stand offered to hold our luggage since we just got into town. Fabricio was lovely at the bar. He had great knowledge of the menu and suggestions. The dishes felt like elevated classics. As a vegetarian, I felt like my mushroom papardelle was a featured dish, and not just a "checked box" for vegetarians. My partner loved the perogi. We also got the leeks and they were awesome. The mushroom sour drink was...weird lol but not because of Fabricio lol. We're from the service industry and he told us exactly what it was. It was savory so we knew what we were getting into and wanted to try something different. The affogato was fire. The whiskey drink was also fun. We went on a Tuesday right when they opened. We were just walking, saw a restaurant, and went in. We didn't know much about the place. But within a few minutes the place was getting filled up. Very trendy! They auto charge all checks 25% grat to pay their staff which I think is totally awesome honestly. Prices of the food is fair, everyone of the staff works together and are all nice and offer customer service from the top (so, customers who read this, you better be nice too!) Now this review is based on just their lunch menu.....but wow was so impressed that I can't wait to come back and try what they have for dinner! Since it's a Michelin rated restaurant, I had high expectations and I got just that. The farm-to-table vibe is always a winner in my book, and you can tell Daises utilizes farm fresh ingredients to make their dishes 'pop'. I tried the chicken parm sandwich (a MUST HAVE) along with the onion dip & chips (also fabulous). Plus the prices are very reasonable for the quality. I went to Daisies for lunch during a quick weekend trip to Chicago and LOVED it! I know it turns into a more upscale spot at night but it was a cozy, warm spot for lunch with lots of pleasant chatter. The lunch menu is small - which was great because everything looked amazing and more choices would have been hard! I opted for the Rachael turkey sandwich and the Onion dip. Both were excellent and I could have eaten the dip and homemade chips all day! Coffee was great and so was the vegan oatmeal sandwich cookie I got to top it off. We ordered a couple pasta dishes cocktails, and dessert. Everything was good, but not great. I didn't really like the drink I got (sunroom gimlet) or the beet gelato. The food here is definitely good. The pasta is fresh and the ingredients are high quality. There is nothing inventive about the food, though... everything tastes as it should but nothing is especially tasty and the chips/dip appetizer was underwhelming. Unexpectedly delicious. That's the biggest takeaway. Everything we ate was absolutely wonderful. From the drinks to each dish, you think it's going to be a certain way and it surprises you for the better. The onion chips were lovely, the raviolo carbonara was crazy, and the chocolate bar was the best way to cap the meal. The food was great. Drinks too, but I didn't get original pics. Meant to be shareable, though not tapas style. SO FRESH AND SEASONAL. There were 2 of us. We got our own dishes and both were great. Also the Frito Misso as an appetizer. The Frito was good! Not too much breading and good veggies- artichoke and mushroom with cheese curds too. Kinda tempura but very lightly breaded. Tarragon aioli was a delight! I ordered the Stracci- lamb sugo pasta, my mom got the fish fry! We loved both. The only thing she commented on is she was hoping the potato salad was more homestyle vs what she called "German potato salad like"- but still liked it! Highly recommended. Came here for restaurant night with my boyfriend! The bar is super cute. The menu is great portions for your money. I was sat by the window and a space heater was facing me, and it was freezing, I had to wear my winter coat!! Service was quick and staff was very friendly! Inside was tight, but they mentioned they are moving to a bigger space soon. Started with the rutabaga latke and carrot rillette. My latke was pretty burnt, making it not the best to eat, but the carrot rillette was great! Very smooth texture. It came with bread and crackers. Next we had the Perogis which were my favorite! I could eat these as my main dish. They were cooked perfectly! Cant go wrong with a perogi! My main I had the black truffle ravioli. The pasta was great! It came with pieces of kale, which were completely black and burnt, making the whole dish seem a bit off. To end was the raspberry pretzel pie, delicious! Not sure if I would come back to dine, but I do love their pasta to pick up at the farmers market! read more

I've been buying Daisies pasta at the farmers market for years, and I FINALLY tried the restaurant last night for restaurant week! I was pleased to see that the restaurant week menu featured many of their regular menu dishes, so I did feel I was getting a standard experience. I tried the carrot rillette, the tajarin chicken sugo, the mushroom ragu pappardelle, and the raspberry pretzel pie. My partner had the latke with smoked whitefish, pierogi, lamb stracci, and panna cotta. Our friends got the same but also the black truffle ravioli and chocolate chip cookie. My favorite was the mushroom pappardelle! The noodles are absolutely perfect. The carrot rillette was also really really good - the bread and cracker with it were excellent and the soft carrot reminded me of like a smoked salmon. My least favorite course was the chicken sugo tajarin, so they were smart to make that the optional course, however I would totally still get the dish again. Just not as good compared to the pappardelle. Everyone else was obsessed with the lamb stracci - saying the lamb was so tender and falling apart. We also got cocktails. The Petals at Play was a hit. I LOVED the Physician's Friend - I totally meant to ask if they sell that herb soda on its own. Mushroom margarita was good, not too mushroomy but very earthy, and I couldn't figure out what made it sweet. Fiancé enjoyed the Smoke Show and the Beet Old Fashioned. The inside was not what I was expecting. It's very small and casual, with a little market in the back. Service was great, and I left soooo full. I'm glad I finally got to eat here! read more

I went for restaurant week back in January and I fell in love. The service was amazing, and the food was even better. The ambiance is lovely; the atmosphere is lively but not too loud where you can't have a conversation. I was truly ecstatic to try this restaurant after hearing about it during Resturant week! Upon arrival we were greeted and sat promptly and the front of the house 5 starts. The server came over (we were celebrating my husband's birthday and kid free so let me tell you, we were already loving life.) went through the menu and I asked for a suggestion for wine and when explaining this is when it started to go south. He went through the whole menu and basically read the the menu we had just sat there and read so....... Asking for suggestions not a strong suit moreover he described a wine I inquired about with a dirt bite ( undertone.... Maybe have been used fuzzy on linguistics all I heard was dirt. The server suggest 6-8 items for a party of 2 that seemed excessive. We were asked if we had play tickets or other plans and in hindsight I wish I had said yes. We pondered the menu and heads up..... at the bottom of the menu there is a 25% mandatory gratuity added. I tip well and being in an industry that I receive tips not an issue with me. Now things get dicey. I ordered my non dirt wine option and gave our order of 3 dishes and moments later the appetizer appeared. I could have went to Whole Foods and got chip with sour crème and onion dip and been happier. My non dirt wine still has not made it to the table nor the server. Another runner brought out the next dish which was good but not hot. The food was coming out so fast one would think it would be hot. The third dish was a pasta and I had to request chill flakes because the flavor was nonexistent. The positive.... The pasta was cooked to perfection, bravo The plates sat there and sat there my drink was gone no waiter In sight just runners and did I mention it was my husband's birthday. Forget the dessert forget the night cap I just want to get out of here. My husband suggested he could get the car as I closed the bill so we could get a night cap else where. The serve never returned I went up to the front of the house and was acknowledged so sweetly and was told to have a great rest of my evening. I said well thank you however I haven't paid yet and the manger and front of the house were equally shocked. The manger was kind and offered to comp the bill, no thank you sir for I just will not be back and I will tell EVERYONE I know. Do better and perhaps I was here on an off night who knows. WOW! Just wow. Daisies was a top tier dining experience! My girlfriend took me to dinner for my birthday and I loved every second. We started with a glass of wine each and the onion dip with the homemade ruffle potato chips - incredible! We then shared the rigatoni and the fried fish with potato salad. Sadly overhyped. I was looking forward to trying Daisies and was really underwhelmed by the food and service. We got onion dip, pappardelle, ravioli, and cloud cake as dessert. Nothing really blew my mind, but the ravioli was quite good and balanced. I was really disappointed in the service. The staff were not friendly at all and it felt like they were rushing to get us out. As someone who goes to dinner for the whole experience, I give it 3/5. I liked Daisies! The food was good, and the place was cute inside. The service was awesome. We were really late for our reservation (felt pretty bad about it), but they still managed to fit us in, which was nice of them. The menu is definitely different than most Italian restaurants, so I was very interested to see what it was like. The pasta ended up being delicious, especially the pappardelle -- and the simple green salad was probably a highlight as well. Oh, and the N/A herb soda was really good! I want to start this off by saying, I have been here before and have had a good experience. Made a reservation for this weekend, not really knowing about restaurant week. Unfortunately, even though there's a 25% auto grad and a $15 per person deposit, when you try to call the restaurant you get a sassy voicemail essentially saying that they don't want to talk to you. We were told when we sat down that if we didn't like what was on the prix fixe, accommodations could be made. When we asked for such accommodations (just to switch out one of the courses for another menu item on the prix fixe) we were then told that the prix fixe was very strict and nothing could be done about it. Overall the level of food was not what i was expecting. I.e. appetizer was cold onions on soggy toast, that somehow was also very tough? Still great service but I would not recommend going on restaurant week if you want the same quality of food that this restaurant is known for. read more

This place seemed like a great culmination of a food experience. The server, Christie C, was absolutely fantastic. She was able to make us comfortable and walk us through the menu as if she was a friend. She also was fantastic with one of our party members gluten allergy. She was able to break down everything that could be made for her and marked the menu to show it. Now to get to the food. All Of it was incredible. Pasta was perfectly made and you can't go wrong with literally any of them. I highly recommended the French onion dip. It's the best I've ever had. Definitely will be returning. We went to daisies on a week night. I was surprised how the place was pretty packed but it was still a vibe. Hosts were very friendly and the service was very good. Even though it was busy, our food came relatively fast. We had the onion deep, it was super tasty! We ended up sharing the parpadelle and the ravioli. We had some wine from the menu, but they also have a bigger selection of wine. At last, the crème brûlée tart. I recommend visit at least once in Logan square!! read more

Daisies has been on my list for so long, and while we didn't get to enjoy the cute little patio out back, we were in the neighborhood and finally got to try give it a try! We arrived around 6pm and decided to swing by and see if they could seat us without a reservation. Because it was early, we got lucky and were able to grab a seat at the bar! I sipped on the mushroom margarita which is made with fermented mushrooms. Definitely a unique take on a margarita! Didn't taste mushroomy, but the earthy element was there. No salt on the rim of the glass, more of a peppery seasoning. We started with the onion dip since this seems to be highly recommended on Yelp. Worth the hype for sure! The waffle potato chips it's served with were chef's kiss. We also tried the brussel sprouts. These were good, but extremely rich, to the point where it was a little too much. We still enjoyed it, but I think we would skip it if we ever make it back here. For the main course I ordered the pappardelle and my husband the stracci. Mine was delicious and the mushrooms within the dish complimented it really well. The pasta is housemade and you can really taste the quality! The biggest bummer for us was the the bartender working seemed super disinterested and almost annoyed that we were there. I typically enjoy sitting at the bar and conversing with the staff working, but he definitely was not feeling it. The other servers who brought us our food and drinks were very personable though! Hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. Located in the great neighborhood of Logan Square, Daisies during the day serves amazing coffee and pastries and after 5pm delicious and unique dinner. The Zucchini salad is the stuff you have dreams about. They have a full bar and amazing cocktails. Wasn't too difficult to make reservations on a week night. The restaurant was a little toasty (not sure because the kitchen is an open concept or what). The wait staff was great. Between two of us we split the Porchetta di Testa starter. This was seasonal with peaches and was delicious (would have been even better if it came with bread to enjoy it with!). The pasta selection and flavor combinations were all unique and hard to choose from. We ended up with the Rigatoni and Ravioli with sweet corn, truffle and jalapeño. The ravioli was cooked perfectly and was definitely my favorite but both were great and I would definitely come back to try more. Lastly we finished with the blueberry brown sugar cake. It was delicious, gave me coffee cake breakfast vibes but very yummy. I look forward to returning for more pasta! read more

We stuck to a couple of appetizers and a lot of pastas and skipped the larger format proteins which we didn't regret. Favorites from the table were the brussel sprouts, the pappardelle, the raviolo, and the gnocchi but honestly it was pretty split which is a testament to how flavorful and interesting every dish was. The pasta is my favorite in the city! Also tried the caviar with the chips and dip and it was a great starter that I would recommend. Ordered an espresso martini which was not great but the mezcal cocktail was very well mixed. Service was also great although when we first arrived we were seated alllll the way in the back next to the wall and exit sign. Our reservation stated we were celebrating an anniversary so this was not what we were expecting. Thankfully my boyfriend talked to the host and she moved us over to the main room. I'd suggest changing out the lighting and not assigning reservations to the back table especially if a celebration is noted. Saving it for walk ins or large parties makes the most sense. read more

We got the Fritto Misto (mushrooms cheese curds artichokes tarragon aioli) and it was DELICIOUS, came with a yummy green sauce, Ravioli (second favorite pasta), Pappardele (GET THIS, hands down best main we had!!), stracci (perfectly Al dente), Potted carrots (not my fave), and Onion Dip with house made ruffles (MY FAVORITEEEE APP!). I came to daisies Sunday night for two birthdays, and all for of us were blown away by how good the food was. My favorite was the gnocchi, it was so pillowy and mouthwatering and I wish I had 50 more bowls of it! Our waiter Kayla was very kind and helpful, as well as whoever refilled our waters!
