The yellowtail crudo was super fresh and flavorful, and the Caesar salad was hands down one of the best I've ever had, perfectly dressed with just the right balance. The star of the show was definitely the ribeye! It was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. That alone would bring me back! The only thing I probably wouldn't order again was the truffle cacio e pepe. It was okay, but didn't stand out compared to everything else we had. The best meal I've ever had, and yes, the most expensive, but absolutely worth it. I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday planning to go all in on wagyu, specifically the tomahawk. Our server guided us toward the Mayura Station Chocolate Fed Wagyu NY Strip instead, and it ended up being the highlight of the night. It was incredibly rich and flavorful, easily the best steak I've ever had. No sauces needed, it completely stands on its own and every bite bursts with flavor. The wood-fired oysters are a must and surprisingly well priced. We also tried the chopped wedge, which was solid with a standout gorgonzola, though Trivoli's still wins for me (bacon, iykyk). For mains, we paired the wagyu with the fontina whipped potato purée and buffalo ricotta gnocchi. The steak and potatoes stole the show. The gnocchi was delicate and delicious, but hard to compete with how exceptional everything else was..though the texture was so melt in your mouth. Dessert was a fun touch. The menu looked great and I would go for the cannoli tower with a group, but the complimentary birthday dessert with a sparkler, warm cake, ice cream, and strawberries felt just right. It's on the dark side interior with a small light for the table which makes it hard to see inside. Haha if that's not your vibe. Wow Such a gorgeous restaurant right when you walk in. The ambience is sexy yet cozy (if that makes sense) I've been wanting to check this place out for a while. The first time here we didn't have a reservation so we got there at 5pm when they opened and sat at the bar. We definitely indulged in more drinks than food sitting there but it was totally worth it. Matty took care of us at the bar and he was great. The cocktails were delicious and the food was incredible. I'm usually a raw oysters person but we got the wood fired and they were amazing. We got the meatballs and they were some of the best I've ever had. On our first visit, it was during restaurant week and I got the steak frites and my bf got the Kansas City strip. The chef came out and said there was an issue with the temperature of the steak. He apologized and gave us a ricotta gnocchi on the house. All the food was great. Our second visit we made reservations and were sat upstairs. The enclosed patio area wasn't as cozy as the rest of the second floor. Our server (Scott?) was friendly and asked if we were celebrating anything special. We came for an anniversary dinner and Michael came by to give us some shots of tequila. I really just ordered this for the vibes cause I'm not super into caviar like that. Very cute and tasty. Comes with 2 bites. Wood fired Oysters: Comes with 6 oysters. I love cooked oysters over raw any day! Very delicious if this is up your alley. Ribeye: This steak was cooked to PERFECTION. We asked for medium. You get a butter sauce on the side but we also added the salsa verde which is basically chimichurri. It was seasoned so well and one of the best steaks I've had in a while. Buffalo ricotta gnocchi: Seems like a popular pasta dish. Pretty delicious and very saucy. The sauce kind of tasted like an elevated Chef Boyardee - but in a very good way. Deliz really impressed me! The space is huge and gorgeous!! Such a good girls night vibe. We did have a reservation for 3 originally and I called to move it to 4 and they said no, and then we were seated at a 4 person table. That was a little bit frustrating. Their service here is so insanely quick. We did get two of our apps before drinks arrived. We were in and out of here in an hour. The brioche is so delicious and buttery, a very good starter! We got the wedge salad and this may have been my favorite dish of the night. Soooo flavorful, the dressing was perfect and the bacon was thick. We got the frites medium rare I loved this. It came with Parmesan fries and this was amazing. I would get this again if I come back! Our waiter recommended the buffalo gnocchi and I'm so glad he did! Great overall experience at Dēliz Italian Steakhouse. We started with the mushrooms, hamachi crudo, cacio e pepe, bread, and all were so good. The Bolognese was another standout, rich and full of flavor. The Caesar salad and fries were just okay, nothing that stole the show, but they didn't take away from the experience. I went to Deliz for my first time this morning for brunch and it was a lovely experience through and through! To start, we sat on the porch upstairs (covered at the time due to the temperature) and I absolutely loved the ambiance. There were heaters on as well which I really appreciated given it was ~50 degrees. I ordered the Honey Dew Mimosa to start which was really refreshing and tasty. To eat, I ordered the Banana Bread and the Whipped Yogurt and Granola which I very much enjoyed both. The Banana Bread was probably some of the best I have ever had if I am being totally honest - the edges were crispy with a soft interior and the frosting on top was perfect. My fiancé ordered the Cinnamon Roll which was insanely HUGE and he mentioned it was good. We came here on a Tuesday to celebrate our anniversary. The restaurant has been open less than 2 months but was surprisingly busy considering it was cold and in the middle of the week. The decor is beautiful, service was fantastic and vibe is trendy (a bit loud for me but probably perfect for a younger crowd). We ordered a two different cocktails to start and they were pretty but personally I didn't really care for either. For food we got the oysters and split the delmonico ribeye with cheesy mash potatoes. The oysters were fine but I'd probably order something else next time. The steak was cooked perfectly, delmonicos are thinner than I care for, but it was delicious so we didn't mind. I must say I was super disappointed when Etta closed because it's one of our neighborhood staples but the Deliz does not disappoint! These were so filling, which I loved that the restaurant week menu had such generous portions. The steak frites was definitely smaller on the steak portion (maybe because of restaurant week?) and heavy on the fries. The fries were tasty, as was the steak but nothing to compare other steakhouses to. The bolognese was excellent and also very filling as it was meaty and a big portion. My pistachio cheesecake was unique - didn't feel like a cheesecake but more of a normal cake. Nothing special - would want to try the tiramisu next time as that seemed to be the social media favorite. Our service overall seemed a bit rushed and transactional. The restaurant is elegant yet cozy, making it a perfect date night spot. We started with their brioche and OMG hands down the best brioche I have ever had in my life. I am already planning my next visit just to order it again. And at only $6 it is honestly an incredible value for how good it is. Even though it is a steakhouse, we ended up leaning more toward seafood. We tried the caviar bites. They were good but probably something you can skip if you are prioritizing. The real stars were the Parmesan crusted halibut and the scallops. Both dishes were outstanding. What really elevates the food here is not just the protein itself but the sauces and accompaniments. Everything had this beautiful balance of sweet and savory flavors that made each bite feel special. The scallops were also probably the best I have ever had. The service deserves a special mention. My wife is allergic to mushrooms and even though I had ordered a dish that normally included them the staff went out of their way to prepare a mushroom free version for her to try. But (and here it goes) from just walking in and announcing ourselves to leaving this establishment there were too many hiccups happening; and maybe I should attribute it to them being the "New" guys on the block. That said, we made a reservation for 8:45 last night and walked in and they couldn't find our reservation?My wife pulled out her phone to show the Resy but, we weren't seated for another half hour and after that we finally got escorted upstairs, there were five empty tables? Uhmmmmm? We get our menus and waited another 20 minutes to order. Uhmmmmm, again? I loved my wedge salad and my wife loved her shrimp cocktail - Hooray! But then, we waited 30 minutes for our steak and fries to come. The steak was delicious but cold and the fries were very good except for the dipping sauce. My wife accidentally dropped her fork on the ground and we couldn't wave down a single person to replace it. So I gave her my fork and I used my fingers (primitive, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do)! Listen, I'm the furthest person in the world being a "hard nosed bastard" when reviewing restaurants and I always try and find the best in a restaurant - NEVER the worst. I started with the Il Blanco, a white Negroni twist that hit the spot. Everyone was so kind and I got an amazing strawberry shortcake for free, also when I ordered my main course I asked for 3 prawn and they gave me 4 which was so kind. I don't remember my waitresses name but she was also so kind and helped with menu recommendations (I got the black truffle pasta, it was so delicious). My mother and father in-laws from Puerto Rico said the octopus was the best they've had in their life. My brother and sister in law from Brooklyn said this Steak was as good, if not better than the best in Manhattan. Additional family from Dallas said specifically said the ribeye was one of the best in the country. This place is simply elite. 5 Stars -- Hidden gem in Bucktown. Came in starving with my friend Renso and we both wanted the same thing: cocktail + pasta + steak. Deliz delivered hard. Vivace cocktail is easily one of the best drinks I've had lately -- mezcal + limoncello with lavender honey vibes and just enough habanero heat to keep it interesting. Bright, balanced, dangerous. The Buffalo Ricotta Gnocchi is pure comfort: creamy vodka pomodoro, rich cheese, perfect bite. I could eat this weekly and not get tired of it. And my go-to order now: Steak Frites + Classic Creamed Spinach. The steak is flavorful and the au poivre hits, fries are crisp, and the creamed spinach is exactly what it should be -- decadent and old-school. Hospitality is what really seals it though. Shoutout to Geena for keeping the drinks flowing -- AND plot twist: I went upstairs and thought I was seeing double... turns out her twin was also bartending. Both of them plus London know what they're doing. The bar service was punctual and kept tidy & clean for the workers and guests by Marcus was on point! As someone in the earlier reviews mentioned - Deliz is high end food and prices without the high end service. Let's start with the food - incredible - there really wasn't a weak link in anything we ordered. Delicious pasta, perfectly cooked steak, mouth watering caviar service. Let's talk about everything else though - we were seated at 8:30 for an 8pm reservation. No apology, no acknowledgement. After about 20 minutes we decided to grab a drink at the bar - absolutely appalling service with 2 bartenders who wouldn't acknowledge my party. As we were trying to flag down one of the bartenders, who was chumming it up with a patron, she curtly yelled "I see you" to us. Yikes.... After we were seated over half an hour late, and quickly placed an appetizer order, we didn't have a bite of food until after 9. So an hour after arrival. This sucked. We had also ordered the brioche the waitress recommended, and after about 35 minutes we checked on it and she does "oh, I meant to tell you we're out." Wtf? One of the managers was also loudly bossing around the servers and it was super distracting, he was running around like a chicken with his head cut off. Plates took a long time to be cleared. Great food, elevated service. Two of the signature drinks come with a little show as well! The pasta sauce and gnocchi pillows were excellent, I wish I would have saved some of the flaky bread to scoop it up. Next time I will try the cannoli tree. read more

We ate at Deliz on New Year's Eve. I called the same day and they were able to accommodate a last-minute reservation for three, which was awesome given that there was no availability online. For drinks, we ordered an Old Fashioned and wine. The cocktail was good, but when the wine was brought out, it was spilled all over me and the table. I was honestly very nice about it (despite it getting on my pants, shirt, scarf, and blazer) but what was weird was that they didn't offer to top off my mom's glass or replace it--she was simply served the half-pour that remained after the spill. I had to ask for a top off of the wine. The menu offered on New Year's Eve was different and much smaller than the menu online. It didn't really say online that the menu would be different or smaller - which was only an issue because it removed a lot of the vegetarian options and I was dining with my mom who is a strict vegetarian. For starters, we had the bread, caviar, octopus, and Caesar salad. The octopus was absolutely amazing and cooked perfectly. For mains, we ordered the mushroom risotto, shellfish elevation, steak frites, and broccolini. The shellfish was incredible--every single piece was cooked to perfection. The scallops were especially spectacular and so succulent they practically fell apart. The steak frites were also surprisingly great. For a seemingly modest cut of steak, it was extremely buttery and cooked medium-rare to rare, which in my opinion is the right way to serve steak. Overall, the food was outstanding. However, the service fell flat, and because of that, the experience felt overpriced. Many of the menu items are priced similarly to very high-end steakhouses in Chicago (RPM, Bavette's, etc.), but this was not a high-end experience due to the service. It wasn't deplorable, but it definitely wasn't good. I've never had a staff member spill something on me at a restaurant and not immediately ask how they could make it right. They didn't offer a new glass of wine or even comp it or anything else to make up for the inconvenience - and that moment set the tone for the rest of the evening's very mediocre service. Lastly, the ambiance itself was just okay. While the restaurant's music volume was appropriate, and it was easy to hear conversation at the table, the phone volume of those sitting at the bar was not appropriate. These guests were openly talking on their phones on speaker and playing music out loud. For the price point, that behavior felt weird and unacceptable for the restaurant to allow. I understand it can be uncomfortable to ask guests to quiet down, but when multiple tables can hear it, it needs to be addressed. Again, the food was excellent, but I'm not sure yet if I'd go back given the vibe and service. If you really care about the overall dining experience, this might not be the place for you. read more

While the food was good, the service was hard to get past. We were trying to enjoy a nice New Year's dinner that we had reserved, but instead felt rushed out of the restaurant, which came across as rude--especially given the price point. First, the busser repeatedly came over to clear our table even though we were clearly still eating (this happened three times). Then, our server quickly brought the dessert menu and the check, despite the fact that our food was still on the table and we had already ordered more drinks (and only brought us one of those 2 drinks ordered). Finally, the manager, Matt, stopped by and said, "Just checking in since you guys are empty--anything else?" even though I still had half a drink and we were actively conversing. The overall experience felt rushed and frustrating. For a restaurant at this price level with a limited menu that wasn't marketed - being consistently hinted to leave was unappreciated.
