Split a margarita pizza with my sister at the restaurant, then we took 2 meals to go. The Italian meatloaf and the pasta special. Everything was delicious. The server was amazing and the restaurant itself is beautiful. read more

Lunch Lovely enclosed outdoor seating...peacefully surrounded with green garden. Lots of shade. Best part! Enjoyable, attentive, first rate service...waiter AND backup servers. Hostess missed the mark; distracted, tired?? Mushroom appetizer was a big hit; unusual and delicious. Tuna main course was a flop; fish on a bed of mushy vegetables lacking flavor. Pizza: 2nd rate. I'd return, but be very careful about what I would order. read more

Just left piccolo Sogno. After 20 some years of good food we left after returning two appetizers; prosciutto crudo e melone, and fried octopus and shrimps. The prosciutto was old and dried out and the melone all 3mm x 6 cm and 6 pieces was not even ripe not even green was absolutely tasteless. The only saving grace is they comped the bottle of wine (good). And everything else. We did have exemplary service and food on Valentine's Day. Note also that in three months the menus does not seem to have changed. Has the kitchen or the management changed? read more

Atmosphere like home, food done just right, veg choices, nice ambience and good pasta choices... Friendly staff and valet parking for an extra fee. The CTA blue line grand Station is right here as well as the bus. Very convenient. The dessert called Panna Cotta de Limone was very silky and a few tiny pieces of candied orange peel on top to offset the smooth flan like fluffy sweet. It's very tasty and not too sweet. read more

Closing out restaurant week with a trip to piccolo signo. Food was pretty solid. I would say the arabiatta sauce for the mussels was PHENOMENAL. after that the food was pretty solid, until you get to the desserts. Bravo on the tiramisu. Would recommend. The staff are friendly, food is solid, drinks are great, and the ambiance makes for a great dinner date. Would recommend. read more

Piccolo Sogno was an absolutely phenomenal experience and such a special night. From the moment we sat down, everything felt warm, intimate, and thoughtfully done. I ordered the Rosticciana with braised beef short ribs, local white corn polenta, sautéed greens, red wine, and aromatic vegetables. The short ribs were incredibly tender and full of flavor, and the polenta paired perfectly with the richness of the dish. My boyfriend got the Maiale al Latte, a Berkshire pork shank stewed with milk and fennel over mashed potatoes with Tuscan kale and pancetta, and it was just as amazing. Comforting, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. We ended the night with dessert, and it was the perfect finishing touch to an already incredible meal. The staff was excellent attentive, kind, and genuinely made the evening feel special. Overall, it was such a nice, sweet night with outstanding food and service. Easily a five star experience and a place we will absolutely be returning to. read more

My family and I had reservations here last night before heading to a concert at the United Center. We drove and used their valet service, which was a nice touch and made arriving stress-free. We got there right as the restaurant opened for our 5:30 reservation, so we grabbed a drink at the bar while waiting for the rest of our party. The bartender was friendly and made an excellent Aperol spritz and old fashioned. The interior is cozy and moody in the best way, such a warm, inviting atmosphere. I'd love to come back during the warmer months to experience their outdoor seating. The menu is on the smaller side, but every item feels thoughtful and unique. Our entire group ended up ordering from the specials: the Cacio e Pepe and the risotto. Everyone loved their dish. I had the Cacio e Pepe and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's one of those dishes that's deceptively simple but easy to get wrong, and they nailed it--the cheese-to-pepper ratio was perfect, and the texture of the green noodles was such a fun touch. We finished the night by sharing the tortino dessert, which was a hit with all of us. Overall, I'm really glad we chose Piccolo Sogno for our pre-concert dinner. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu! read more

Went to Piccolo for my pre birthday celebration We were welcomed with complementary bread basket and it was a delight. As vegetarian there are limited options but still enough to enjoy the meal. Service was on spot with the staff being super polite. Loved the gnocchi and the dessert. The truffle mushroom spaghetti was full of umami flavor but it needs something to break the monotonous flavor profile. Ambiance was perfect for a date night. read more

This is one of my favorites spots in town. I've been there in many occasions. I love the patio in the summer time, the ambiance it's so beautiful in all the ways. And inside the restaurant it's having a tasteful layout and I love that the ambiance it's romantic with not so much light. The service it's always impeccable. I the Italian wines that the serve there are a very great selection. The food it's so good that you can't stop eating , from pasta , pizza , fritto misto, fish and beef dishes . The dessert it's the cherry on the cake! Congratulations to the Chef Tony Priolo and Mr. Ciro for this amazing location. read more

My wife has always wanted to dine at this restaurant. And that was accomplished yesterday, we had 6 pm dinner reservations. The patio is amazing! The calamari was delicious, she had the lasagna, and I had the Risotto. The food was 10/10. The service was excellent, and our waiter Eric was great! I definitely plan to visit again soon. Bring a $20 for parking, that's cash only. It's an ATM across the street at the 7/11. read more

This place may have the nicest back patio in the city! So big and spacious and laced with lights above. I've often heard about the awesomeness of this space and finally came by for a bday dinner recently! Our server Leonardo was such a good dude with a great sense of humor and took extra good care of us! Food was really good! We started with the Pesche salad which was a great started. Includes arugula, goat cheese, peaches and lemon oil..fantastic! Ravioli Piccolo Sogno was exceptional as it includes four cheese ravioli, pine nuts, butter, marsala glaze and parmesan curls. The Halibut Al Forno was delicious as well! The portions are a nice size and they are more than willing to split everything into 2 plates if you are sharing. Washed it all down with a couple of very good filthy martinis. Love this place and will need to return a couple more times before summer is over! read more

Piccolo Songo has a lovely patio and a great location. Right off the El plus a small valet lot onsite. Valet is not free, but he was very nice and I didn't have to hunt for parking in a busy area at sometime. Wine menu is fantastic. Lots of good options. My food was okay. In defense of the establishment, our options were limited on an event pre-set menu. If I went back I'd try other things. The presentation of the salad was lovely. Straw pasta was lovely to look at and probably homemade. Servers professional. read more

I had heard Piccolo Sogno was great but was absolutely blown away by how beautiful the outdoor space is - I think this is the best patio in the entire city! The menu is well rounded and classic for Italian, and everything was delicious. We split everything and tried a bunch of dishes. My favorite appetizer was the caprese, one of my favorites from the whole menu. Salads were also good but small, but the calamari was a substantial portion for an appetizer. We split several entrees - the ravioli and the gnocchi were favorites, but I also really loved the pappardelle, cacio e Pepe, and prosciutto pizza. Everything was good! The best dessert was by far the almond blueberry cake, the chocolate was a close second. I would definitely come back here! It's a great spot that feels authentic and special without being impossible to get a reservation. Food came out timely and the service was great! read more

3 of us back for a wonderful meal and great service. They do everything right and it feels so Italian! Alejandro gave us great service and food suggestions. They had some nice specials and minestrone soup was one of them and it was delicious. Another special was risotto and a ragu which was perfectly prepared. Branzino was another special and after showing it from the kitchen they deboned it perfectly. The last entree was Pages E Fieno, green and white ribbon pasta with a veal ragu. After all of that we shared some gelato. They have valet parking on the property which makes it easy to come for dinner! read more

We had another great meal at Piccolo Sogno yesterday. When we gather like this, with eight friends and family, we like to eat family style so we all shared in some really great dishes. We started with the Caprese, which was absolutely delicious, the heirloom tomatoes, and buffalo mozzarella with basil was loved by all. The Pesche with fresh peaches, combined with goat cheese, arugula and a bright lemon oil topping was my favorite starter. The Barbabietole, Burrata and Funghi Al Forno were fantastic too. I loved the mushrooms!! For our main dishes, we had the ravioli which our grandson loved with its buttery Marcella glaze and pine nuts! The Paglia E Fiona was my bride's favorite. We also had the Pappardelle with a wild boar Ragu, which was one that our grandson really loved. We had the risotto special with bits of prosciutto and mushrooms in it, one of the best risotto I've had. The Rosticcana had a delicious and tender portion of short ribs over a wonderful polenta. My daughter's favorite was the Halibut Al Forno, the halibut was absolutely delicious. We closed out with one of every dessert. Shared among the group the chocolate/hazelnut lava cake was awesome, but so were nearly all of the others. The maître D gave our grandson a tour of the kitchen, and he came back with a bowl full of strawberry ice cream. He couldn't have been more excited. The fantastic service and friendly staff really helped make the night. We also tried their signature cocktails, along with several martinis in our group. Needless to say it was a wonderful night. read more

In a city packed with amazing restaurants, Piccolo Sogno is still one of the best. I first met chef Tony Priolo back in 2008 while managing events at RedNoFive, when he was preparing to open this spot on what many of us called, the "cursed corner" in West Town. Several restaurants had tried before--but this one truly made it. (#hattrick...he'll get it, as an authentic Blackhawks hockey fan). The food is consistently outstanding, with seasonal updates that keep the menu fresh. The pastas are the real stars: "Straw and Hay" (Paglia e Fieno), lasagna, ravioli with pine nuts, and especially the Spaghetti Neri or Sapore di Mare. All pasta is freshy made daily and authentically aligned with the chef's direction. If reservations are full on a busy weekend, grab a seat at the bar! "Bartender Tony" is fantastic--he remembers guests (and my preferred red wine) and always makes the space feel welcoming. As a tennis fan, I've spent many days chatting with him during matches. I am polish, and sports were a big part of my bond with my dad, who passed many years ago; Tony has been an unexpected anchor for me, in this realm. Living nearby in the West Loop, I stop in almost every week--usually with my future fiancé (shhhh....#hereshoping). He's gluten-free and Piccolo accommodates him every time. . I eat the bread, he eats the panna cotta - "a match made in heaven", truly. read more

I came here to celebrate my birthday, and it was a really disappointing experience. From the beginning, it felt like our table was being ignored. We had to wait for basic service(water, bread, order our actual meals), and it seemed like everyone else was getting more attention than we were. On top of that, there was an odd attitude from the staff that made us feel unwelcome. Birthdays are supposed to be special, and unfortunately this experience was anything but. I don't expect perfection, but I do expect to be treated with courtesy and not feel overlooked. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and works on providing consistent, respectful service to all guests. Can't emphasize enough that I am disappointed because I was excited to come here and I didn't leave thrilled. Hopefully, the next person has a better experience. read more

Unassuming, superb quality Italian food is probably how'd I'd summarize our experience here. I came here for a business dinner with a few colleagues and from the breads, to the homemade pastas, friendly & accommodating staff, and delicious food, we all came away extremely pleased with our experience. I had a delicious seafood pasta dish, and all their pastas are in house made, along with high quality Italian olive oil and sand marzano tomatoes. You can even buy their dried housemade pastas to go! This place isn't far from me and I'd definitely recommend it and take others here in the future! read more

There is plenty of parking outside. I made a reservation, but there was plenty of space for a Saturday lunch. Knowing that there are kids, they placed us in a corner which is easier to managed. The waitress was friendly and offered 2 coloring sets and cups of closed lid water with straw. We ordered 2 kids meal, Mama Luca's Meatballs, Yellow Tre Carne pizza, Pappardelle with Short Ribs Bolognese, and Piccolo's Chopped Salad. The Meatballs were tender and the kids loved it. I wasn't sure what to expect of the Yellow pizza. I didn't taste much difference with the yellow sauce. The Tre Carne was too salty together. Everyone loved the Pappardelle especially the kids. The Chopped Salad taste as expected, but the portion was big for one person. The also very helpfully placed strong flavored like olives and onions on the side, which was good since the kids are not a big fan of either. I would return and save room for dessert next time. read more

Felt like an old school Italian spot. Loved the interior and the vibes, the patio looked awesome too! Service was great! Shared a Margherita pizza for the table and it was fine. But really enjoyed the Lasagna! The meat was seasoned perfectly and not overly cheesy. Had bites of the Gnocchi which was very pillowy and had great flavor. The Truffle Pasta special was rich. For dessert we got the Mille Foglie which was surprisingly yummy. Not too sweet! Overall a lovely meal, would return! read more

On a weekday lunch time, no reservations required. Things weren't too busy and service was prompt. Interior is beautiful and huge, but well spaced out so you don't feel crowded. There is beautiful garden seating, but it wasn't open yet in May. Bread and salad were fresh and inviting. Calamari was great, but not too good to share between 4 people. I could have eaten it all by myself. Pork felt a tad dry, but salmon was top notch. Bass was also delicious. I recently had dinner here and had an okay experience! I have only seen positives about this place and was really excited to dine in. I've also heard the patio is unreal but sadly I went when it was cold out. I did have slightly slow service. Came here for restaurant week and overall had a very good experience! Had reservations and was seated right away. The ambiance was very romantic and traditional Italian. The service was good, being served bread and getting drink options very quickly. Overall, the food was good! Came out promptly. The menu has many selections great for vegetarians and pescatarians. Ended the meal with a tiramisu that was refreshing, a little heavy handed on the espresso powder. The regular menu pricing was on the high side. It was a busy Saturday, and we felt a little rush by service. I would recommend this restaurant, maybe in the summer so you are able to sit on the patio under the lights. read more

A big group of 12 of us had a reservation booked prior for a Friday night for a friend's farewell dinner. Inspite some of us being late, we got the table on time. Romantic, intimate, incredible service is what I would describe about the atmosphere. You are transported to a rustic italian antique house upon entering the restaurant. The service was a little confusing at times, but professional and courteous. The food will warm you. There were so many fun things to try. We shared ravioli, roasted potatoes, margerhita pizza, burrata. While the food was good, but it was not exceptional compared to prior times I had eaten it. However, their wine collection is pristine and pairs well with just about anything on rhe menu. We ordered a bottle of red and white wine each. I enjoyed the wine a lot. Between my friend and I, we finished the entire bottle of Chardonnay. They were reasonably priced and it is definitely a heavy pour if ordering by the bottle. I was a bit bummed that they didn't have the tiramisu on the menu any longer so we ended up ordering the lemon panna cotta and the mille fogile which was pretty good. Overall, a great experience... Def recommend this place! read more

Piccolo Sogno has been a staple of the Chicago restaurant scene for many, many years and it's not hard to see why. We were here during the cold weather and enjoyed sitting on the back patio that always heated and tented to be like an indoor dining area.
