Hire Some people who care. Get Et rid of the guys standing around doing nothing except trying to look cool. Get some Management in there so people are told what to do. I try to quicken the pace. Is a 20 minute wait to get to the cashier reasonable? Really? I start would be paying better so you could hire better kids if that's what you're gonna do. This is such a disgrace. read more

Love stopping in to any DQ for a tasty treat. The lines on these hot summer days are quite long, but the employees get you through quickly. At this location there is a drive-thru, and one can go inside. There are two tables in front where you can sit and enjoy your treat. After sweating our balls off in the land of Yuma my buddy wanted a cooling off ice cream and drove in here. I am not a fan of Dairy Queen, at least around where I live, but I had to order something since we were here. I wasn't sure how dairy products would mix with a day of consuming some alcoholic beverages; but I digress. We used the drive-thru, as the store is small and there were people clogging up the interior. We also had a known quality of A/C in the rig and it was unknown inside. I ordered a large Blizzard - drumstick & peanuts sounded interesting. My buddy ordered another Blizzard concoction that I do not recall. We were served in a timely manner, with three vehicles ahead of us. Well, the Blizzard I received was stacked up over the rim. My buddy's was just at the rim and he was jealous lol. The ice cream held up really well, not melting too quickly, and was loaded with the "drumstick & peanuts" I had selected. I actually enjoyed it quite a bit, but it was too big to finish completely (now I know). Something with peanut butter to be specific. Ordered a medium peanut butter malt. $4.95 and I was out the door of the Dairy Queen located on 4th Avenue in Yuma, Arizona. Malt was made to order and wasn't "too sweet." That happens on occasion when too much malt powder is added to the drink. Female cashier was fast, friendly and polite. She offered that all ice cream options were available with the exception of chocolate. Store was clean and offered a double drive-thru, which appeared to be more popular than in store sales. It was supposed to be a night out taking the girls to the roller derby, but it got cancelled. I had signed up for email deals for this Dairy Queen, so off we went! We ordered: -A banana split (we shared it) -a pumpkin blizzard -a small cherry dipped cone Things came out ok.. I should've listened to the Wife as the customer service is better at the other stores (also on 4th; one in the Foothills too). They give you more on the cone there. Our bananna split didn't have a cherry topping (ikr?) and they wanted to charge extra for nuts topping. Ummm, why? No wifi, hard to find parking. We'll hit up the other stores next time. The staff is nice and I get they are busy, but this is the second or third time I've ordered and paid for a fudge filled blizzard asked to make sure that it had fudge before I grabbed it was told yes just to find that I received a regular blizzard. Busy three workers ... no customer service... was not even acknowledged until minutes later. No greeting for such a very small lobby, 5 customers we'd allowed..no sanitizer, same gloves worn to touch products, windows, counters, pens and receipts... I made sure to wipe our product containers and hands once we got outside... drive they busy but some time management and customer service skills need to be enhanced.. was not a pleasant experience for my lil one who wanted DQ. ‍. Ok I give this a 2 Star only because, BAD on them for not selling food. Really, when I asked they said the Franchise Owner took the food away. Knowing that your DQ is in the hub of AZ/CA visitors crossing both ways to get gas and stop for food, you stop serving food. Makes no sense. read more

Our favorite DQ in Yuma! We order once a week everything from a simple cone to a deluxe banana split. Every item is delicious and served with kindness. We appreciate that the staff still tells us THANK YOU for visiting DQ, not to many businesses remember to and it does make us feel appropriated. read more

I have been going to the 4th Avenue DQ since the mid 60's. I don't live in Yuma anymore but I come here weekly. I have raised 4 boys and they all have come to DQ since they were little. My family frequents DQ on a regular basis. This establishment still looks exactly the same as it did 50 years ago. It is as though it has stood still in time. It still has the same feeling, very hometown. It has the same kind of employees as before, Young, enthusiastic people who are friendly and welcoming to their customers. When I pull off of 4th Avenue into the parking lot, I have so nany flashbacks of my past. And of course the ice cream is so superior to any other!
