The Sanford Dairy Queen is a staple in this town, honestly, you can't say you are from Sanford unless you've been to this location. The store has been in business since 1953 and still maintains the original iconic look and retro design motif. This store has no indoor seating and limited outdoor seating. You basically pull up, place your order in left-side window, and pick it up in the right-side window. The staff have always been friendly and usually hook me up with Flurry ingredients. Although I usually go for the Flurries, I like to switch it up to a waffle bowl, banana split, or my childhood favorite, a soft serve vanilla ice cream covered in chocolate dip; they even have ice cream for dogs with little bones in them. As spring sets in, you might notice lines forming at this store even near closing time, which is 10pm. Regardless, the staff do an awesome job here and I have never had to wait more then 10-15 when its busy, but for the most part, I can get in and out in a few minutes. If you are not from the area, know that there is an outdoor laundromat right across the street (Park Ave) from Dairy Queen, so you can pop in for a sweet treat while you're waiting for you clothes to dry. Also, behind Dairy Queen and across S. Oak Ave there is a Dentist office there incase you need routine maintenance after your Dairy Queen Visit, haha! All-in-all, this is great little Dairy Queen store that is a must see. Although this store doesn't have items you see at a much larger Dairy Queens, such as fast-food items and larger cakes for purchase, it does have a decent variety of flavors to choose from, a great selection of toppings and ingredients, and management routinely adds/removes specials to keep things looking fresh.

    Old school outdoor DQ.

My wife and I driving from Daytona Beach to the Orlando airport were looking for a DQ on the way and struggling to find one convenient for us without going too far out of the way. A little at random, we selected this DQ in Sanford. It's a cool old school one with only outdoor ordering and seating. The people working here were super friendly and helpful. They had all your favorites including soft serve swirl which sometimes isn't available. We both got a small hot fudge sundae with peanuts. Service was quick and the sundaes yummy. Next time we need a little pick me up while in the area, we will be paying them a visit.

Alright! I'm a softy for nostalgia and place delivered my memories, quality service, AND a luscious dessert for me, my husband, and best friend! You pull up and go straight to the window, greeted with a huge smile and even a couple nostalgic jokes--they have an OG 90s register, so I had a crack a joke and the girl just went along with it! They have the OG menu, but don't miss out on all the location specials menu located below the counter with illustrations included! I got the Brownie Sundae, and was recommended to sub chocolate syrup with hot fudge--THAT SHOULD BE ON THE MENU! SO DELICIOUS! My friend with us got the waffle cone sundae and it was a bit messy, but according to her, worth it all! This place has constant traffic flow pulling up and ordering but the team was quick to deliver exemplary service and high quality desserts--especially for what could be considered a historic roadside attraction, in my opinion!

Tiny Dairy Queen location off the beaten path. Right off of 25th street in Sanford, they only sell ice cream so don't expect to get fries and a burger with your blizzard. Came here for a blizzard and I asked the manager for her favorite. Chocolate, with fudge and brownie bits. So good! Great small location and love the rustic old school vibe!

Wow, so this Dairy Queen has been here since 1953! Love that they kept the retro motif! Definitely a Sanford staple for dessert, no food at this location. Fast service, friendly staff, great prices, and the treats never disappoint. I'm currently hooked on the caramel toffee salted fudge blizzard.. but can highly recommend the Reese's, butterfinger, Oreo... ah the list goes on.

Visiting this city and wanted to stop by. What a nice great treat! $0.85 blizzards now until September 24. Yummy dessert!

Such a gem in Sanford. I love riding up here on my golf cart at night and getting ice cream. The waffle cones are homemade from scratch when you order they take a few minutes to cool down but not too bad. Are usually get anything with extra sprinkles on it, the staff is super friendly and the ice cream is super cold. I recommend this for any date night out or a family outing super fun location and very reasonably priced.

I paid for a Blizzard and they gave me a very melted one. At other DQs they flip it and when I mentioned the Upside Down or Free thing they looked at me like I was crazy.

Old time scream This DQ has been around for a while. I asked one the young ladies working there exactly how long but she just looked at me and said it's been here forever. I doubt if it's been around quite that long but it's obvious that the building has been around the block a few times and has a few tire tracks across it's back. I have heard that it's the second oldest DQ in all of Florida and just looking at the venerable building that's easy to believe, it is indeed showing it's age. That's fine with me, I like places that have manage to survive for a long time and I think the the rather worn appearance gives this little DQ character. I love the old signs and anachronistic exterior. There's no place to sit inside, just a few crummy tables outside and most of the people get the treats to go or just eat in their cars. All the usual DQ stuff is here, lots of blizzards, peanut buster parfaits and of course dipped cones. I've been here about a half a dozen times and every time I received exactly what I expected. DQ's are consistent if nothing else. Even though the lines can be long at times the staff knows what they are doing and keeps everything moving along. It's fun to watch just one blizzard after another coming out of the small windows while you devour your own treat. Sure it's old, kind of crummy looking, gets crowded and doesn't really have many places to sit. None of that matters. This place still makes some of the coolest summer treats that can be found anywhere. It's been doing it forever and probably will keep doing it until forever finally comes.

Been here a few times and just recently i came to get two of there pumpkin pie blizzards, first of i agree service here is slow and the parking is to small for the amount of people that come here also the location looks so old like it could be run down by a hurricane any day. Back to the service, the staff is nice but only two windows to take and give orders and about 5 or 6 people in there like a can of sardines because the building is so small and old. I order two pumpkin pie blizzards. .they barely tasted like pumpkin and they put so much in a cup when u take the lid off it came out and went all over the place including my clothes. The flavor of the pumpkin pie blizzard was not worth getting it and waiting made it not even more worth waiting ,but the worse part is how they are stuffing so much in to this cups that people are getting stick and creating a mess. Probably won't be back for a while, i was very disappointed with my last visit and every time i come service is slow because they can't handle the business they do. My advice...shut this location down and rebuilt a bigger location with a order here window (s) and pick up here windows, also faster service. I will be checking out the Apopka location soon to compare

Like, don't come here for ice cream. Then he added "It's the worst but we have like new machines so they don't break down now but I don't care like three dollars is not worth a single cone". Dude was right. Sound advice. Great staff, but omg wow I can literally get the Nija that makes these at home for an insanely cheaper price. I miss the $1 and $1.5 cones. $3? What incredible unnecessary price gouging. Literally no reasons to come to McDonald's anymore. It's cheaper to leave a 20% tip and go to millers. Or literally anywhere else.

I selected mc double and I selected my reward for a free four piece chicken nugget I paid for this. It was six dollars almost seven dollars. A Mc double is only three dollars so that means the other four dollars was the cost of the medium fry after I gave my code which is shown in the photo through the speaker I pull up and I recieve a small fry, the chicken nuggets and the mcdouble. All I said was I ordered a medium fry not a small and the manager said you did not pay for a medium and I was like I can show you my mobile app. And he said we did not get your code but here I'll give it to you anyway, but you did not pay for them. The chicken nuggets were free. It shows that so I know I didn't pay seven dollars for a Mc double there's no way that this could have happened because it was a mobile order and there's no way they didn't get the code because if they didn't get the code, they wouldn't have had any idea what I ordered although I was given the medium fry and it was solved. It's just gonna bother me all day long, wondering what the hell is wrong with him and the fact that he wouldn't just say sorry because it's not that serious but I'm glad I spoke up because I'm not just gonna not get something that I paid for. It's not that hard do better. Also the fries were cold and saltless and the business was not busy at all. and i am 14 weeks pregnant i really hope i do not get sick.

It's been a long crazy week going back and forth to concerts and Bike Week, we just wanted to eat out somewhere close to home then come home to rest. We arrived around 7:15pm and were promptly greeted and seated. The restaurant is full of vibrant colors and overall is very beautiful inside. They have a really nice bar in the middle of the restaurant and a small stage for live music. Fortunately for us, tonight was Saturday and they have live music on Saturdays. The musician that was playing tonight was Alejandro de la Fuente. He was an amazing guitarist and kept us entertained the duration of our meal. Our server, Semardis, was friendly and attentive; she took great care of us during our visit. I like that she brought over a carafe of water for us so we could keep our drinks topped off as needed. We decided on the Fajita Ranchera ($23) and the Baja Fish Taco's ($18) for dinner. Our meals were out fast, literally at 7:34pm, which is crazy fast. Our food was very fresh and hot. I loved that the Fajitas come with sausage and cactus, I usually only see cactus served with the Molcajete but I'm glad it came with our fajitas because it was freshly grilled, juicy, and delicious. Nancy really enjoyed her Fish Tacos too; they were freshly fried and crispy. Even with the coleslaw and dressing mixed in, the taco was not cold, which is great. Note that they have put a note on the door stating that they will be charging for refills on chips and salsa. We asked for a refill on the salsa only but were not charged extra for it. Maybe the statement is for customers that are not buying meals, who knows, but times are tough and don't mind paying as long as it's not exorbitant. I really wish business was busier for this restaurant. There were only two other couples in the restaurant when we arrived and when we were leaving there was two four tops, which has got to hit-hard on a Saturday evening when this place should be slammed. They did a great job with the service, food, and entertainment, I would like to see business pick up. Staff does a great job keeping tables and the dining room clean however the restrooms could use a good deep cleaning and there was a slight sewer smell near the restrooms, which could be off-putting for most. Pricing is comparable to other Mexican restaurants in the area and they offer great appetizer discounts on Wednesdays, so keep that in mind if you want to save. All-in-all, we had a wonderful dinner here and experience tonight. Good job Alebrije Mexican Grill & Tequila Bar, we will be back!

The lot is small, shares spaces with several other businesses in the same plaza, and is butted up against 17-92, making difficult to enter and exit easily. On my most recent visit, I needed two subs that I could save for dinner later that evening after the Creed concert in Tampa. Yes, we plan that far in advance, lol! It's always a burden to find a place to eat before and after a major concert, so we bring the cooler and our own food/drinks and save $$$$, time, and aggravation. I used a coupon - two footlongs for $12.99. The options are limited now, since the majority of subs are specialty subs and are not part of the promotion. I guess that's how they get you now. So my choices are Italian BMT, Turkey, Cold Cut Combo, Meatball, and I think Tuna. I ended up going with the Italian BMT and the Hotshot Italian, which is basically the BMT with hot peppers on it. The young lady working the counter was friendly, and was very conscious about washing her hands and putting of fresh gloves before making our sub's, great job! Unfortunately they only had two options of bread - wheat and white, bummer. I didn't realize I forgot to ask the server to add mayo, mustard, and spicy mayo to the sandwiches until we began eating our sub's later that day. Nancy's like why are these so bland. Totally my fault, but I do have to say the wheat bread has no flavor at all, without condiments, the sub bread is just meh. All and all, the restaurant was clean and they did a great job making my subs. Its too bad they were out the better bread options so early in the day (10:00am), and I wish they offered more variety with the coupons. Ultimately, I recommend them if you are looking for a meal at a much lower cost to eating at a sit-down restaurant.

A few years back, this store was renovated and it was the hot spot for a minute but now not so much. We had some family in town and were picking up a few to-go items for a quick dinner. The first thing we noticed upon arrival was that Both the McDonalds and Denny's lighted store signs were off. Not a big deal for us but if I was the business owner, I would be all over that. Once inside I waited at least 5 minutes to place an order. Not bad but there was no one in front of me and maybe two or three cars in the drive thru. The main register clerk was in the back and the other workers seemed to be standing around and did not acknowledge my presence. The odd thing about the whole experience was one of the male workers was walking around between the register area and where the guests would wait in line (where I was standing) with his arm in a makeshift sling. He was using a cotton web style Dickies belt to keep his arm in a sling-like-position but was wandering around doing nothing. How hard would it be to say "someone will be right with you"? I ordered two 6-piece McNugget's and two McDouble's from the 2 for $3 menu. The order total was $6.42, which is not a bad deal at all. However, the register clerk neglected to add the BBQ sauce to my order, so then I waited again for someone to acknowledge my presence. It's a shame, the manager was the one who dropped off my order but couldn't take the time to verify I was happy before, blurting out my order number then quickly walking away. Finally, the young gal working the fryer stopped what she was doing to assist. All in all, I was at McDonalds and I can't expect the best of the best, but I can expect more cohesive interaction from leaders and team members working at this store.
