Me and My friends simply wanted to get dairy queen and we had been to this location before so we knew we couldn't split the check, so we did what we always did-- looped back around and had my friend order and pay with their card. However, when we looped around we were given a snarky 'did you have a question?' and after saying we wanted to make another order we were told that they could only do one order per car. My friend had to go in and get his order. I honestly don't understand why we were refused service considering at that point we were technically 'new customers' and it wasn't going to be paid with the same card. Which doesn't make sense because we had done this exact thing before with no issue. I'm never going to this location again. 1-Star. read more

DQ Flagstaff is open during these crazy Covid-19 pandemic times, so after a family hike, we recently did the DQ drive-thru for some sweet treats... I was pleased to see staff wearing masks although I'm not sure what other precautions are being taken. (Ate here late on the 22nd) Very friendly staff, but wasn't impressed with my large Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Blizzard. It was just weird tasting Ice Cream with some Milk Chocolate Reese's, and no Peanut Butter Cups. I had stopped here because I was really craving Ice Cream after getting a Doordash to Cold Stone earlier the same night. I tried to go there first, but didn't have any luck finding parking. As someone who rarely ever goes to Dairy Queen (like less then 5 times in over 41 years), I think I will just keep delivering it, and stay away as a customer. What saddens me is this the first time I have eaten Ice Cream since late February, early April. And Reese's Peanut Butter Cup has been my favorite Ice Cream for many years. One of our favorite sweet stops, the only thing that I wish they had is the food still! They make a heck of a burger. However, I'll never pass up a good dipped cone for the kids or a cookie dough blizzard or peanut buster parfait. The drive thru is usually our preference and other than being on a busy street making parking lot exits tricky, they've got it dialed in. The blizzards always taste great when I come here, however the customer service is poor. The guy taking orders on drive thru does not know how to talk to people. He was rude and kept saying "What else" after giving our orders- we only ordered 2 blizzards. I've worked in food service many years and that's definitely not how you talk to guests. If you hate your job then leave. The worker at the window was very nice, I don't think it was him taking orders but everyone was wearing a headset so it was hard to tell. Other than the poor customer service when ordering, this location makes great treats. read more

Went to this dairy Queen yesterday two mini blizzards. They were horrible. They were way too soft as normal and the person at the checkout window was too busy to turn them upside down to make sure they didn't fall out. Can't say the same about Scottsdale location on Shea Blvd ( staff there is the opposite of friendly and that is exactly why we will never return there) But back to this Flagstaff sweet spot. Let's try something new... how about the MOLTEN LAVA CAKE? Wow, what a great recommendation from the lovely staff, absolutely delicious. Warm cake with Vanilla ice cream and hot fudge... I added strawberry topping to make it my own. There's a seating outside and even an umbrella to hide from the hot sun. However, There were almost no cookies to the point where I thought that he got my order wrong. Then my mother got her turtle pecan, which I couldn't see the pecans in hers either. My experience here was terrible. Online it said they closed at 11:30pm and when she go there they were closed by 11:00pm. When me and my family went up to the window the guy proceeded to flip my 5 year old off after us try to ask if they were closed. Thanks to the great marketing team my roommates and I decided to make our way to DQ for a late night treat. Around 8:45pm. We all wanted to try the new Apple Pie Blizzard. This place is ICE CREAM ONLY! No fries or burgers. But I get that. We're in the drive thru which has no voice box so we have to order at the window. We go to order our apple pie blizzards and the young man in the window says "we're all out actually." Are you kidding me?! So we settle for a different ice cream that didn't really satisfy our desires. I ask when they'll get their stock replenished he replied with "whenever my manager decides to order more." The service was really, really slow and the kids working there seemed to be of less than average intelligence. Also, everyone had on a dirty shirt. Just like a dairy queen should be! They had great blizzards with plenty of candies and presented them in the authentic DQ upside-down way. They also had the candy shop blizzard that not all stores have. We were very pleased with the service and the speed. This is rare. I don't typically give businesses that miss the mark a bad review. My experience today compels me to share. My mom and I stopped in here after a stop to fill the tank with gas just up the road. We are headed home on the third day of our road trip. It's hot. We find the local Dairy Queen and order two sundaes. One strawberry and one caramel both with pecans and whipped cream. The young lady took our order at the window and also our payment. She stepped away from the window and an older man returned with both our sundaes uncovered and spilling off the sides of the cups. The offer of a lid prior to filling the cups would have been ideal. The treats were very messy and I could see that he even had to wipe the spilling soft serve and whipped cream from his own hands before we pulled away. I've never had that happen at a DQ. I've been to several across the nation and even when we decline lids for our treats, the treats are neatly presented In the cups. This was a fail for the simple fact that i came to the Drive Thru for convenience, yet my passenger and I struggled to keep our clothes clean (to no avail) as we drove away from the joint. I can't recommend this place because as an out-of-towner, this spot didn't represent the city well IMO. read more
