Great blizzards but the wait at the drive thru is the longest. They're always so busy - good for them bad for me.

When my son's girlfriend offered to take my wife and I out for PRE-dinner dessert, I was eager to…read morecheck out this new "hot spot" they had discovered. Especially since they had already visited this place four times in the same calendar week, besides, it HAD to be good if they were content with introducing me to it BEFORE I tore into my slow-cooking pot of chili. The first thing I noticed upon entry was a gentleman (the co-owner who introduced himself as Doc West [cool name]) who opened the door for our party of four, welcoming us with a huge smile. He expressed a genuine appreciation for our visit, making me feel like one of the five golden ticket winners upon their initial entrance to Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. Chocolate Factory is definitely a good comparison because the brightness in colors all revolving around the pink base felt like I had exited through a portal and into another world. Bright neon signs, oversized games like Connect Four and Jenga, throwback penny candy, beautifully colorful and tantalizing portraits, and wonderful music. Inside, he introduced me to Page Bridges, the other owner whose smile was even larger. These two, in conjunction with their happy employees, all gave me wonderful vibes before I'd even seen the product. (If the name of the establishment sounds familiar, they were formerly located at Eastland Mall - but the show must, and does, go on...) I looked over the menu. Decisions, decisions. Sundaes and ice cream. Should I get one, two, or THREE scoops? Nope. Root Beer floats! *Hums silently and happily like Homer Simpson* Cobbler! Donuts! Hotdogs! Oreo Shack! Slushies! I immediately understood why my son and his girlfriend made so many visits. Everyone in our party ordered something different, but since I didn't try anyone else's items, it wouldn't be fair to comment on them. Suffice it to say that all were completely satisfied with their selections (my apologies for not remembering to at least photograph any of them). I decided to keep it simple and order a vanilla shake. If you know me, I stick with the basics (like sausage and pepperoni at pizzerias) to establish a good benchmark for comparison to other businesses of a similar nature. When I told him my favorite flavors, he suggested that I try mixing it with a banana to enhance the experience without deviating from the desire to taste the root flavor. I was eager to order a large shake but hadn't forgotten that my pot of chili was waiting patiently for me at home. Let me tell you folks, that shake was incredible! The ice cream was deep and rich, while the banana accentuated it perfectly. Part of me regretted not including another flavor, while the rest of me was happy to have stayed in my lane, as this combination reminded me of the shake/malt shop I grew up around in the 70s/80s in East Chicago. The banana was blended perfectly, minimizing the chunks that can often be a bit of a nuisance when sipping through a straw. Then again, the straw was larger in diameter than the traditional ones, so that would not have been a problem anyway. But it wouldn't have mattered because as the sign said on their wall, "Ice Cream Solves Everything!" And that aftertaste, dude. Suffice it to say I'm hooked and will most definitely be returning. Make it your business to get out there to try this place out and, as always, tell 'em Kenny sent ya! Curse me for only ordering a medium...

It is really cute and they have a plenty of places to take cute pictures. I don't know to many places that you can get a flight of ice cream. I wish I had taken a picture of that. I was excited to see some of my favorite old school candies. Plenty of sweet treats to choose from, you can't go wrong. they also have other food items that you can buy. If you want to hangout for a while there is plenty of board games.

You're also able to request a sample for any of the flavors since there are so many different types. For certain flavors, you can also "twist" them together- ex. swirl chocolate and vanilla. Great idea! The toppings selection is also vast. There are fruit toppings as well as candy toppings- so there is something for everyone! Payment is based solely upon weight of your cup- toppings and fro-yo both. Typically, I find myself spending around $6 for a decent sized amount. I once loaded the large cup full to the top and the total was around $9/$10. You can take your cup to go or hang out with friends at their unique orange seats. They even have outdoor seating. Great idea for post-movie treat since the movie theater is located right across the parking lot. Staff is awesome, talkative and friendly. I have no complaints!

Super friendly service. I was looking for a root beer float thing I had heard about, and they weren't sure, but they said it is a "fizz cup." And they did have one on display, and some signs promoting it, so yeah, I'm sure that's what I heard about. They essentially screw a bowl on top of a bottle of root beer, A&W in this case, and fill it with your choice of yogurt. Then you squeeze the bottle, the root beer comes up, and you flood the yogurt. Mix and enjoy. Definitely leave the lid on when you are squeezing, because it spouts like a whale or volcano. Their spoon is awkwardly shaped for the little bowl; one or the other has to change size and shape. It made a nice little float. It was fun. It was awkward. It was potentially messy, especially for kids. It is definitely not something to drink in the car, as I'd hope to do. I don't think I'll get it again, just make a float at home, but it was unique.

We attempted to go to this location, but despite all advertised information it was closed. We ended up at the Graeters in Bexley which was large, open, provided a bathroom, and had a lovely spacious patio tucked behind the shop. The Midnight Snack flavor was excellent. I like ice cream with lots of chunks of chocolate etc... All 6 humans and the dog were happy.

Ahhh, NOSTALGIA…read more Everyone's favourite ice-cream....well, definitely not everyone but for a number of people in Columbus or Cincinnati, Ohio. Graeter's Ice-Cream was started in Cincinnati but I grew up going to Graeter's in Columbus, Ohio. I always enjoy coming back to Graeter's whenever I visit Columbus because there isn't one close by to where I live in Cleveland. ICE-CREAMS AND MALTS -- I love getting the toffee chip ice-cream which is my favourite one to get. I also love getting their Malt drinks which is ice-cream melted down with milk (I believe milk). Everything is fresh and homemade or made in-house. You can get ice-cream on a cone or in a cup. You can also buy one of their to-go ice-cream containers. TIP -- Get their loyalty card. I think after 10 punches you get a free ice-cream. TIP 2 -- Big grocery stores now sell Graeter's Ice-Cream pints (small containers) in the freezer aisle. This location in Bexley is my go-to location because I've come here for years and customer service is always friendly and attentive. Now that I've written this review, I want some Graeter's Ice-Cream.
