I am extremely disappointed with the way I was treated at this Dairy Queen Grill & Chill. I ordered two ice creams, and when my card was swiped, the transaction was declined. I had thousands of dollars available in my account, so I don't know why the card was declined. I understand that sometimes card transactions can have technical issues. What really upset me was the way the manager handled the situation. Instead of politely asking me if I had another form of payment, he rudely told me to come inside because he had a "long line." In reality, there was only one car behind me. Because of his rude and disrespectful attitude, I felt the need to show him my available balance on my account to make it clear that the declined transaction had nothing to do with me not having enough money. I should never have been put in a position where I felt I had to prove that. I do want to recognize A.T., the young lady who took my order. She was kind, respectful, and professional, and she even apologized for the way her manager behaved. I truly appreciated her kindness and the way she handled the situation. This experience also made me think: What if I didn't have another card with me? What if this happened to someone who genuinely didn't have enough money in their account? No customer should be made to feel embarrassed or humiliated because a card transaction was declined. A manager should know how to handle situations like this professionally and respectfully. A simple, "I'm sorry, your card didn't go through. Do you have another form of payment?" would have been enough. Customers deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their financial situation. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and recognizes A.T. for her excellent customer service while addressing the manager's behavior. read more

Ordered here, received our order. First of all it was raining and we had to keep walking in and out in the rain because of the mistakes. Didn't get any straws or spoons when we ordered two drinks and two ice-cream dishes which required spoons. Got a number five just the burger no onion or pickle and received a burger with onion and no lettuce tomatoes or pickle.. bad experience overall. read more

Went to the DQ in Exeter, had the most disgusting slush in my life. Their cherry was so bitter that the face I made had my kids laughing, until they tried it. Where do I start? We walked in, 3 of the 4 of us so excited to get the new garlic parmesan chicken basket. I ordered a mint brownie blizzard and large fry and my friends all ordered the chicken basket and a drink. After receiving the cups, they went to the soda fountain where the ice has changed to awful chunks and the sodas came out explosively. I've been coming here for years and isn't it sad seeing this place go downhill. The customer service is not good, I couldn't place 2 separate orders in drive thru because I was in One car. Just sad now. Used to come here with my teammates and friends in high school and everything was reliable. Now, I order a spicy wrap and get regular, order BBQ chicken and get regular, order a royal blizzard and there's no middle flavoring. Every time I've come here recently the orders have been wrong even though staff repeats them over the drive through speaker. Stopped here while traveling through the area and decided to order burgers, cheese curds and onion rings. All were cooked to perfection. The curds and onion rings were especially noteworthy. the quality of the food, the way it was cooked and the side marinara dipping sauce for curds all outstanding. You would think you were dining in an upscale restaurant. Highly recommend stopping in. Facility is clean and service good - kudos to Taniyah for helping new staff member with her onboarding. I go here for the Flame Thrower burger and cheese curds. Its usually really good. The flame thrower burger was really delicious, the only thing I didn't like was that the bun was not soft and fresh. It was a bit dry and flaky like it was sitting out in the open for over 24 hours. The cheese curds were good, a lil to greasy, but still good. The only thing I didn't like was that the dipping sauce was only half way filled up as you can see in my pictures! The large fry basket was cool. The best aspect of this place is the owner, and how well he runs it. It's a community place, and you will be treated well. The owner, known by his first name, Hamid, might even come out and greet you as he tends to do while he is at the location. As for the menu, it is your standard DQ menu, as it is a franchise. Compared to most DQ's, this is easily cleaner. The owner and manager go the extra mile to ensure the cleanliness of this place. The interior is also just great, very pleasing to look at, and at first glance you wouldn't assume it is a fast food chain. Great place, and possibly greatest place for the community. read more

Nationally, everybody knows DQ, but locally, everybody knows Hamid. Sometimes, a tasty-but-pricey confection has a little extra appeal just because of who's selling it! Hamid does a lot of "giving back" in terms of community support and fundraisers. (For example, my daughter has been attending Exeter's Teacher In the Parks program this summer, and Hamid sends each kid home daily with a coupon for a free Kids Meal.) I do have to say this, though, we live in Exeter and work in Shillington. I'm at this location more often bcs I come at lunchtime. I tell ya, they have the best deal going. Hamid has been a great asset to the mifflin (as well as exeter) community. I have gone numerous times when Hamid owned it and it was great. However Hamid has sold it and it has changed. Tonight ordered 2 blizzards. The girl had issues taking the order and charging me. When I got the blizzards one was double cupped. When I got home, I realized she punched a hole in the cup making it, and instead of starting over, or pouring it into another cup, she just put the ripped leaking cup in another cup, allowing us to enjoy a blizzard with whatever ripped paper was with it. I don't even give this particular store a 1 star. I got food, drinks and Ice cream here plenty of times and the time I go I got something so very simple. A vanilla sundae with pineapple. Due to my NUT ALLERGY, I ALWAYS inform places my allergy and they never have a problem with it. Many places go up and beyond to take precaution of my allergy because of how severe & how many people have the allergy. Well when I received my ice cream w/ pineapple on top, there was a NUT sitting right there on the ice cream. When I turned around & went inside, asked for a MANAGER, he came out and gave absolutely no sympathy or sorry what so ever. He quoted "well it happens. We don't guarantee anything." And I told him I informed them because it clearly states on the window & counter, TELL THEM IF ANY ALLERGIES.
