Well, what mor can you say about a dairy queen. The ice cream is amazing, and they have Taco meals. I came from New Mexico, where they do not have the taco meal. The service at the dairy queen is too notch and would definitely let the manager know they are doing amazing here. But moat of the reason as to why I wanted to post a five-star is the amazing artwork in the restroom. This thing had me rolling in laughter when I saw it. This kind of stuff just shows you that this place enjoys what they do. It's not just a job but a place to feel good and have some good eats. Dairy Queen has the best ice cream. The bad thing is they are super stingy with it. The new large at DQ is yesterday's small. A few weeks ago when I ordered a large sundae, I received a large sundae. Now I'm receiving a small when I order a large and paying for a large. This has been the case the last 3 visits. The large ice cream cone was closer to a medium and the sundae was almost invisible. If that was a large I am afraid to see the small. Prices need to be reduced for these sizes. lol. Like that will happen. Please go back to an actual large for this price. read more

Saw that DQ had a special on tacos, 3 for $5.99. I love tacos, plain tacos, fancy tacos, specialty tacos. So the thought of three tacos for about $2 each seemed appealing for some reason. This is the fifth time in a row that I have ordered a hunger Buster with no cheese. I am infuriated with restaurants that assume everyone wants cheese. What about those of us who can't eat cheese? Tonight when I went through the drive-through, I reiterated no less than five times no cheese. Even when I paid, I asked the girl taking my money, to please make sure there is no cheese. And yet, I get home, with a burger with cheese. That was my last attempt. I think I gave it ample opportunities to get an order right. The receipt all five times was correct. But apparently whoever cooks, the burgers does not read the order before preparing the food. It would be different if this was McDonald's and I was paying $1.29 for a burger. Over all it was good here. The store was very clean and welcoming. The food was made right there and then. Everything came out fresh and hot. The service wasn't too bad the kid up front didn't seam to want to be there but he wasn't rude or anything like that. So overall I can't complain lol. read more

Later evening stop and the restaurant was super busy inside and out. Ordered tacos which were very good - really good shells - and the seasonal pollack fish dinner which was also good even after a 15 minute ride home. The fish isn't precooked so if you order in the drive thru you have to pull into the waiting area and they bring it out. Added tartar and lemon wedge are very nice additions. Fries and Texas toast complete the dinner. The only criticism for this restaurant is the parking lot is dangerous regardless of whether you are trying to get to the drive thru or actually park to eat inside. Two very large vans in parking spaces near the door made the path to the drive thru required a bit more careful tactical maneuvering. I have been here a couple of times just for a dipped cone and have not been disappointed! It can get crazy busy in the small parking lot, but if you come when it is not too busy, it's a easy experience. Their dipped cones are delicious and dipped well (I have been to several DQs who cones looked horrendous). Overall good experience and good ice cream! Update: they no longer have butterscotch dipped cones and I will not be returning until they do... why must they take away such a great staple. read more

You can't grow up in small-townTexas without having memories of DQ. This location is the modern version of my hometown DQ I grew up with and I'm glad to say it is in good hands. The restaurant is always clean and the staff inviting, friendly and interactive. The idea of DQ is simple but not always well executed: people know the menu just execute the food and service well. I'm happy this restaurant does that. It is very nostalgic to go in on a Friday night and see families enjoying Blizzards or food together the same as it has been for decades. read more

Easy to get to, this unique and historical location will not disappoint. The syrupy raspberry and new Oreo Mocha liquor-like blizzards have good flavor and pass the upside down test. The workers are professional and the manager has a good sense of humor. They keep social distancing and wear gloves and masks in this clean eatery. We usually love everything we eat at DQ. We decided to try the fish basket today. I won't be doing that again. There was more breading than fish and was just not very good. I was anxious to try the mint brownie blizzard. What a disappointment! There was some brownie in it but mostly some crunchy chocolate. What was really disappointing was there was NO mint flavor!! After dinner treat before going back to campgrounds. Its what we love about TXs, DQ is right where you need them. We pulled in going for our normal blizzards and then got confronted with several new options like, did you know ice cream can now be dunked in butterscotch, cherry & normal chocolate but you can now have chocolate softserve ice cream "game changer". I'm surprised at the negative reviews here! We stop by here at least a few times a month and the service/food is always good. Last night, we dropped by again. I wasn't hungry and ordered a simple strawberry sundae, but my son got the belt buster and my husband the jalitos ranch burger. They were both oohing and ahhing over the flavor of the burgers. Both of them stated that last night, they got the best burgers they'd ever had anywhere. Really? The best? Apparently so! The man at the counter was super friendly and greeted us immediately. He took our order, and practically followed us to the table with the ice cream portion (a blizzard, a dipped cone, and my sundae). As he walked away, the food was being brought out. I was really surprised at the speed of the service. We've never gotten inside service that fast anywhere. Everything we ordered was correct and delicious. Great food and treats all the time! I especially like that they have Orange Julius now. I visit DQ once every couple months. Mainly because it is expensive but delicious. The employees are always courteous and friendly. The restaurant is always clean. On a recent visit it was super crowded. We had to wait a while for our food but I expected that. I wanted to share a good review on the Mayfield Dairy Queen at Williams and I35..the cleanest fast food restaurant I've been in, friendly staff that brings your food to you with a smile! That is a rare gem these days. I've been to many Dairy Queen locations but this one stands out above the rest so kudos to the management! My husband and I are addicted to their tacos so we frequent there pretty often ;-) One more thing to note about the food..they get the orders right every time! Usually we make pit stops when traveling in Texas to other locations and their bathrooms are just so-so clean, but I visibly noticed a difference here. All my kids wanted was DQ ice cream all week. Finally we were able to make it there and now I promise we will never return there again. After laughing and joking as we are trying to make our order which is fine as long as our order is right. Two chocolate shakes and one banana shake what can go wrong? Well they hand us a vanilla shake and we said that we ordered a banana shake so they take it back , take a spoon take our cool whip off then takes his hands and puts a few bananas on top and hands it back. Pure running liquid by then with no banana taste at all.
