A good place for ice cream. Dairy Isle is about the only place to get ice cream on South Bass Island. Luckily it's located right by the ferry docks. It has ice cream but also food. The quality varies. Ice cream is the main thing here. It's one if the few places on the island to get it. The best thing about this place is that they have Dole Whip. It's about $2 for a medium. Me and my lady friend had the pineapple. This was a generous portion. It also has regular food. It's mostly not as good as the ice cream. They now have the Beyond Burger so that's a big improvement. read more

It's a shame! Stopped by on Friday for a late afternoon pre Dinner Ice Cream cone and coffee. FYI - No sign on the door, register or anywhere telling about this credit card policy ---- all orders under $12.99 you'll have to "buy a mask" to make up the difference or order more food/Drinks (FYI - I didn't see them give one person this mask they bought) - seeing this happening to the paying customers in front of us, we combined our order. The girls working could not have been ruder when taking orders and handing out orders. We asked for a small Cherry Dipped cone and she asked very loudly what dip? We said Cherry and met with an "Oh Cherry" response. Up next was our Coffee Ice Cream Floats. Again the cashier rudely said "Ok" with an eye roll; After that, we moved and let the other ppl in our party order their own items. They too said that the girls were Rude but didn't wanna say anything and have a "Karen moment" LOL - the guest before us said they thought it was them for a min, but after seeing how rude these girls were with us, it must be the employees. the order was pushed to the end of the counter. No spoons, no napkins, and no straws. When asked for these items again were met with eye rolls from the young employees. To the owner or manager- I ask that you hire people who truly want to work and believe in customer service because this type of service no ones coming back for 2nds. A great ice cream parlor to cool off at.. Right in the thick of all activity in Putin Bay. The joint was bustling with activity as expected on a warm summer afternoon. This place not only does ice creams but also burgers, floats, milkshakes. I found the fact that they serve burgers a little confusing given that is not what you would be expecting while walking into a place named "Dairy Isle". Neither did I see anyone else during that time try one of their burgers e I got the Diet Coke float and vanilla ice cream. The ice cream was a little bland without any ice cream like flavor. I appreciated the fact that it wasn't overtly but this was a little too flavorless for me. They do several toppings and dips( chocolate dips) etc. The price is fairly reasonable as well. The staff is efficient and have the place running like clockwork. Two of the three stars are for their great work. The ice-cream per se is alright and nothing to brag home about. read more

Pros: Clean restaurant with decent island decor. Cons: Very overpriced food that tasted awful. Very slow service. It cost us more to eat here than it did to go to a local restaurant with a waitress and better food. For the money, I can safely say this is the worst burger and fries I've ever had. This restaurant was previously a Dairy Queen and it was the worst Dairy Queen in America. Stopped here after dinner to grab something sweet! There isn't a whole lot to choose from, but the soft serve is your typical soft serve. My sister got the Oreo storm (McFlurry basically) and my dad got the m&m. They both enjoyed theirs and I got the chocolate soft serve in a waffle cone. The waffle cone was nice and soft and had a vanilla wafer taste to it. The service was very prompt and fast! There are some tables outside and plenty of seats inside. I loved the ice cream, the food came out very very quickly. i got a perch sandwich and a strawberry dole whip. I enjoyed that there was lactose intolerant options. The food was average, but overpriced. It took way too long to get our order. We wait about 30 minutes to get our food and everyone in our group was already done. We could've just gone to a regular sit down restaurant and gotten our food faster (which is what we'll do next time). When we did get our food, my daughter's chili cheese dog was cold. They fixed it, but then I had to take it back up because they didn't put any chili and cheese on the new one.
