    Strawberry Dole Whip
    Steve A.

I spotted this as we were driving by. Cobb's is a local favorite. This is still close enough for Cedar Point and Lake Erie visitors. Of course the attraction is the ice cream. You can also get a hot meal. Highly recommended to get the ice cream. It's way better than any of the hot food. Oh, and they have Dole Whip. Awesome stuff. They have rotating flavors, and the last time it was strawberry. It's $2.75 for the medium cup. This is a good size. I thought the worst thing was the area. It looks like it's worn out and there's some creepy people around. This does have a drive thru if you're afraid of getting out.

If soft serve ice cream is what you're looking for, Cobb's is your place. They don't have any hard dip options, but they make up for it with many varieties of soft serve options. From specialty sundaes, to shakes and malts, to slushees or Cobb's coolers (slushie/soft serve combo), you won't be disappointed with the variety. For years the banana split at Cobb's has been one of my Grandma's favorite treats, and you know Grandma's know best! I can't speak to the food options because I haven't tried anything in years, but you certainly can't go wrong with the ice cream.

    Pineapple Dole Whip! Mmmmm... Yummy!

Cheeseburger tasted like it came out of a microwave and ice cream was melted before they even handed it out of the window. Not good at all.

5/5 Stars -- Ohio's Ice Cream Legend…read more By far the best place in Ohio to get fresh, amazing ice cream. I mean, Toft's Dairy has like 50 flavors--seriously, there's something for everyone. You can grab a cone, a cup, or even buy ice cream to take home for the family. And it's not just ice cream--they have milk, specialty drinks, and even fun merch like t-shirts. My personal favorite? Peanut Butter Cup + Peanut Butter Pretzel--absolute perfection. Creamy, nutty, salty, sweet... all the things you want in a summer treat. Sizes? They've got three, but honestly, the small is perfect: enough to satisfy that ice cream craving without going overboard. Medium is basically a full meal, so pace yourself. What makes it extra special for me: we know someone who works there (we met her at Kalahari), and she loves giving suggestions on flavor combos. Her tips always take a cone from great to legendary. And of course, there's the Cedar Point connection--stopping at Toft's after a day on the rides or after a big sporting event is pure nostalgia. Sticky fingers, huge smiles, and ice cream that tastes like summer memories. Bottom line: Toft's Dairy isn't just ice cream--it's a tradition, a memory, and hands-down the best sweet spot in Sandusky. You go once, and you'll be back again and again.

Wood paneled interior, adult waitstaff, and a full menu of sandwiches and breakfast delights await. Also, it must be said that their fries were superb! They are my absolute favorite kind that seemed to be tossed in something to give them a satisfying crunch. A great local spot to stop for lunch.

My trusty Yelp app came in good once again by finding dessert places and we decided to try out Joe Sundae's. While a little bit off the beaten path from Cedar Point traffic or even the downtown section of Sandusky, Joe Sundae's is an affordable little restaurant that the locals go to. They have a decent selection of locally produced Toft's ice cream, in which you can order a few different scoops of ice cream, make into sundaes or however you like it. They also have a selection of other drinks and food, but an old ice cream parlor seems to be their bread and butter. Service was prompt and friendly as well. Definitely a place folks in Sandusky or visiting Sandusky should give a try.

And pop. Ended up with some candy and ice cream. I got the Lake Erie Cookie Monster, which had chunks of cookie dough, etc., in it and was tinted blue. Fun and refreshing. Kid K liked her vanilla. Service was great. Prices are fair. The place is cool. Free city parking across the street. Wish we had this in my town; combine Rocket Fizz and a local toy store and a small ice cream shop, and you'd get close.

Botton Line: Soda Pop's kicks major ass…read more Why? Here's why: 1. Great location: It's located on W Water Street, just WSW of Columbus avenue...it's right in heart of (resurgent) downtown Sandusky. 2. Sweets: They have a very nice selection of olde tyme candy. You'll find the likes of Abba-Zabba, Goo Goo Cluster, Chick-o-Sticks, wax mustaches/lips/fangs, etc. Obviously, they have newer brands, as well. 3. Drinks: They have a superior selection of "craft" pop, including diet Dang, the best diet pop in the world. Also, I saw Ale 8, Moxie, Cheerwine, about 75 varieties of Root beer, and a bunch more pop. 4. They have ice cream floats (can't vouch for these...yet). ...best of all... 5. The back room: It's part pop culture museum (from the 50s to the 2000s) and part flea market. Need a poster of Wonder Woman (either Lynda or Gal), John Wayne, Arnold, or Magic Johnson? Get it here. Desire to posses the Gorf cartridge or Activision Football cartridge for your Atari 2600? You're covered. Want that Fat Albert board game that you've been missing since 1973? You're in luck. There are TONS of things to check out and, if you choose, to buy. I bought a couple of books that I had as a kid and haven't seen since the 80s...("The Encyclopedia of Hostile Aliens," and "Earth's Greatest Interstellar Battles"). 6. Video Games: This is especially cool...in the back room, you'll find a MultiGame machine that's in great condition. 55 games...1 quarter per play. Come in on Friday and you'll find that it's set on "free play." Yep. I don't know about you, but the next time I'm in Sandusky, with or without the kids, drunk or sober, naked or fully clothed, I'm stopping at Soda Pop's, and ain't nobody stoppin' me! FIVE STARS!
