Next door was an ice cream shop but I didn't feel like any ice cream after eating and I'm not a big Blue Bell fan anyway. They have 2 menus and a lot of items to choose from but most are breakfast or lunch items. I went with a specialty sandwich, the Victoria (a chicken sandwich on ciabatta bread) and a sweet tea. I added their homemade potato salad for $1 more. The sandwich - this was a tasty sandwich on soft ciabatta bread but only 1 problem, the kitchen put American cheese on it. The menu indicated it had cheddar. Luckily they were able to bring me some cheddar from the kitchen while I was scraping off the processed cheese. Overall, it was pretty good because of a sauce they put on it which is slathered all over the shredded chicken. Potato salad - this is mayo based, quite different than the mustard based potato salad in the south. They added plenty of dill on the sandwich which made my colleague cringe since he also substituted for potato salad, but I thought it was pretty good. Promptly someone came and took our order after giving us some very helpful suggestions. We chose The Rose with broccoli salad and the Smoking Cricket with potato salad. All of it was delicious. But our favorite is The Rose. Their homemade pimento cheese with bacon and pepper jelly on ciabatta was amazing!
